Random thought of the day: Sometimes it is necessary to put in a little extra time to make sure we stay on track — and to believe that the work will pay off in one form or another in the end.
I decided to try something slightly different in today's episode: You will hear a close-up recording of me working with a loud mechanical keyboard.
Random thought of the day: No matter what we do for a living, health should always be one of our top priorities — if not the #1.
Random thought of the day: You have to believe in yourself. Because if you don't, pretty much no one else will.
Random thought of the day: Sometimes it's hard to persevere when you don't see results, but then you typically won't see results if you don't persevere.
Random thought of the day: Content creation can be equally fulfilling — if not more than — content consumption. This is partially in reference to a new haiku series that I have just started.
Random thought of the day: Keeping calm is the key to not only boosted productivity but often times also a happier life in general.
Today I managed to record a portion of the work session before needing to "borrow" the audio gear for a separate voiceover recording session.
As hard to believe as it may be, the first month of 2023 is already nearing its end. I had some time to reflect over the weekend. And now a fresh new week is upon us. Here's to hoping that I will be able to keep the big picture on track — if not the concrete plans themselves.
In this episode: I had the fan heater on in the home office.
On this day of ambient sound recording I worked from home for a bit before heading out for errands and dinner (the outing wasn't recorded as that would seem off-topic considering this podcast's main theme). The fan heater was turned on during the last 20 minutes or so of this episode.
Whilst this episode features just an ordinary work (from home) session, it is my honor to also report that today I've received some residual income payouts from a portion of my social media content from 2022. The total amount itself is by no means large enough to cover expenses yet — let alone supporting my living — but it certainly is great incentive to keep at it on the side.
The fan heater was on throughout the episode.
I started working (from home) for a bit, despite it being a public holiday over here — namely, the Second Day of Lunar New Year.
Lots of package unboxing in the beginning. I believe you can hear some helicopter sounds in this episode — more than once, in fact. The part where I took a phone call was trimmed out as usual. Another productive day under the belt, I would say.
It was a day of working from home. Behind the scenes (sounds) includes my going ahead to acquire a pair of new domains for use in the upcoming projects. Also, the heat fan was on the whole time.
Behind the scenes (sounds): The office view livestream that was set up in the previous episode apparently already ended itself in less than 24 hours. This led me to believe that the Wi-Fi signals in the office were not stable enough. I will need to investigate some more to identify the culprit and some possible solutions — especially since my goal was to make this livestream an ongoing broadcast. For the time being though, I will be turning my focus back onto our core project. More on the live cam sometime in the future.
Behind the scenes in this episode includes me setting up the live cam that I previously mentioned, as well as the usual office shenanigans.
In addition to making podcasts out of the studio's ambient sounds, I have also been meaning to start live-streaming the view from here onto YouTube. Hidden amongst the random sounds in this episode was me running some preliminary experiments with the live-stream setup, which turned out fairly well. When the stream is ready to go live, I will be sure to share the link.
Also — I don't believe I've mentioned this in previous episodes yet — but we are actually located right by the sea. I think some ship horn blasts can be heard within the first quarter of this episode.
Hidden amongst the random sounds was me squeezing in some research for an upcoming cool project.
Any day with package delivery is almost always a good day. Featured in this episode is the unboxing of some freshly-arrived parts, from which we will go on to develop a new version of our prototypes.
I went back into the office on what was supposed to be a holiday to get a head start in the new year — and that's why there's almost no talking heard whatsoever. Instead, you will hear the filming of a takeout meal as well as an unboxing session in the mix, along with the usual office work.
The last time I worked from the seaside office / studio for 2022. Looking forward to all the exciting projects in 2023!
In this episode, you will distinctly hear me:
That's it for now. See you all again next year!
An hour and a half of me working quietly from the home office. Somewhere near the 35-minute mark, I paused to take a phone call (which wasn't recorded). The fan heater was on the whole time.
An hour of me working alone at the studio in the evening this past Boxing Day, hence the title "Silent Night." In this debut episode, you will hear mostly nothingness, other than perhaps:
