The ratio of successful female composers to male composers is approximately four to one. I'm not sure why that is because if you listen to the music that they create Trailers,Straight ahead film scores, action, drama, you name it the only difference is creativity and style … which is not gender specific.
AND if a score requires great sensitivity, female composers at least in my opinion win hands-down.
Elena Mary is an extraordinary composer and her energy and dedication should be an inspiration to anyone considering this field of work and a career as a Music Composer.
Interestingly enough, Elena Maro is also married Marco Antonini another rising star composer on the Hollywood music scene. This was a delightful interview and as always, there are some great takeaways.

I don’t actually watch a lot of TV but I do love an entertaining , well written and produced show. I’m not sure how I stumbled upon White Lotus but it would be one of my top picks for a ‘must see’, they take chances. It has smart humor, and more over some of the most original, accessible, and inviting music on television. The composer behind the score is Chilean-Canadian film composer Cristobal Tapia de Veer or as I have come to know him ‘Cristo’
Cristo is not what you think of as a typical film composer… what I mean is that he is an experimenter, creating sounds from nothing , combining textures, defining rhythms and finally happily marrying them to picture doing more than creating an ambiance. Cristo’s music helps to define the scene or cue, it helps to breathe life into it.

Dans dad, his family and eventually the entire neighborhood were the start of ‘Segue Music’ the motion picture/television industry's largest provider of on-set and post-production music services, including well over 1000 film and television productions.

Gone are the days when record companies would take care of everything. Mark is a master in the art form of Film Editing … and even though I ran a production and post company, in the past, when we talked I felt like i was going back to school… it’s was so cool.
Film editing is probably not the first thing you think of when you watch a great movie and if done well you most likely will never even notice it. You also probably didn’t know that a feature film editor is sort of a personal advisor to the director during production to make sure the film flows correctly and it allows the editor to help tell the story in post production.

They add excitement and drama to a show and stand in for actors and actresses, so they don’t get hurt. They are incredibly trained and meticulous when it comes to everyone’s safety.
Rick Avery has been a stunt performer in over 700 films, including “Get Shorty,” “Animal Kingdom,” “AntMan,” “American Sniper,” “The Intern,” and the list goes on and on.
I recently had the pleasure of talking with Rick. But, I also had the preconception that someone like him would have to be tough to be in this line of work for so long. For me, this was another example of incorrectly prejudging people (try to learn this lesson early on if you can.)
Rick has proven to be one of the most talented, charming, and open people I’ve ever met in the business.
