This Podcast gives a space for men's mental health. I'm Tim and I share my own story, stories of other men in my life and my listeners.
In this episode of the MenTell Health Podcast, I provide an update on my personal journey, emphasizing the importance of sharing both successes and challenges. As someone advocating men's mental health, I believe it's vital to showcase the entire journey, rather than just the destination. Join me as I discuss my mental health journey, the obstacles I'm currently facing, and the progress I've made.

Join me in this episode where we navigate a vital aspect of personal growth and relationships: why men sometimes find it challenging to take accountability after causing harm. 🤷♂️
I delve into societal expectations and cultural upbringing that sometimes hinder us from acknowledging our mistakes.
By acknowledging these struggles and engaging in open dialogue, I hope to encourage self-reflection and foster a culture of responsibility. Together, we can break down the barriers that prevent us from truly owning up to our actions and becoming better versions of ourselves. 🌱🌟
Tune in to this episode to embrace vulnerability, strive for growth, and work towards a world where accountability is a strength we all possess. 💪🌏

In this episode, I discuss a topic that is often shrouded in silence: men's insecurities. But I also highlight the way in which communities can help acknowledge and addresse them and help men become better.
And of course, I will talk about the Barbie film – again.
As men, we've been conditioned to believe that showing vulnerability is a sign of weakness. However, embracing our insecurities and sharing our struggles can foster a remarkable sense of connection and understanding.
Join me as I discuss the importance of creating safe spaces where men can express themselves without judgment and what role women play in this (spoiler, very little).
Tune in to this episode and be part of the movement to redefine masculinity, one conversation at a time. Let's inspire a world where authenticity and empathy matter the most.

the Barbie film is a phenomena that has hit the world by storm. But there are people who critise it as "man hating" or "woke" and even go so far as to burn Barbie dolls out of infantile outrage.
In this episode of the MenTell Health Podcast I discuss what I believe is one of the major sources behind men's dismissiveness and even hate of the amazing Barbie film.

Men that show vanity are demonised for it and so are men who do not take care of there looks. Something we used to only attribute to women, the dichotomy of caring about your looks and not and being judged harshly either way, we now, in the spirit of equality, put on men, too. What does that to men, how is it hurting our society and what do high heels have to do with it all? Find out in this episode of the MenTell Health Podcast.

Trauma is something many people experience. Be it a one-time event or a constant occurrence, they accompany us all our lives. Yet, many people don't talk about their trauma or let other people discuss theirs. But why is that? And what can we do about it?

Why are many men always so angry? People are quick to say that all they have is a temper. But a temper is not a character trait, it's a feeling men have not learned to articulate, process or regulate. Just like many other feelings. Why? Because we don't teach men emotional intelligence, but rather encourage them to be logical thinkers. But that leads to many men feeling frustrated and angry and sad but without realising or knowing why. In this episode, I delve into the phenomena and show why it is great to learn emotional intelligence and how you can learn it too!

In this episode, I am talking with George. George is from Cardiff and with his Instagram account @themindfulbloke is giving helpful advice to people on how to deal with their mental health.
As a former member of the Royal Navy, George has learned the importance of a healthy mind and what it can take to look after it. During our conversation we, of course, discuss his time in the Royal Navy but also what it meant to come home, the difficulties civilian life can bring and what role alcohol has played in his life. It wouldn't be the MenTell Health Podcast if we didn't also talk about men's mental health and George's own experiences.
Let me know what you think about the interview. What have your experiences been? And please reach out if you want to talk to me and share your experiences.
Thanks again so much to George, it was a pleasure talking to him. If you haven't done so already, go on to Instagram and follow his account @themeindfullbloke.

Be it Thor, Iron Man, Batman, Captain America or even Ant Man, one thing they all have in common is that the actors playing them have big muscles and very toned physiques. And when asked, they all tell us that they achieved at with exercising regularly, sleeping enough and eating healthy. They tend to neglect that they did little else for months if not years and possibly had a bit of chemical help.
Yet, more and more men do everything in their power to look just like them. Because we as a society tell them that they are only attractive, only have a worth to us, if they look a certain way. Similar to how we've been treating women for centuries.
With severe consequences for their physical and mental health. In episode 18 of the MenTell Health Podcast, I will talk more about what leads men to pursue the superhero look, the consequences it has, and what we can do to move away from these unhealthy body images.

A lack of energy often accompanies mental illness and it can feel like just getting out of bed takes every ounce you have. I certainly couldn't imagine doing any exercise when my depression was having a grip on me. Could you? But as it turns out, exercise can actually help to reduce the symptoms of depression and of a variety of other mental health disorders. How? That's what I will be talking about in this episode of the MenTell Health Podcast.

1 in 5 men will develop addiction to alcohol in their lifetime. This insane number alone should lead us to act. However, alcohol is only one substance and behaviour men are prone to get addicted to. What we can do to reduce those numbers and what kind of addiction is very little talked about, you find out in this episode of the MenTell Health Podcast.

If one believes pop culture, bloggers, and semi professional relationship coaches, men move quicker from one relationship than from their worn underwear, without a care in the world. But is that true? If you work hard enough, you will be successful. That is the credo we are being told to live by. But what effect does this have on the mental health of men? Because men are still firmly encouraged to follow this credo. Add to that the idea that their entire self-worth and worth to society comes from their success at work, the equation doesn't seem to bode well. In this episode of the MenTell Health Podcast, I discuss how work impacts men's mental health, how hustle culture can have an adverse effect and which approaches work and which don't to address mental health struggles at work.

Domestic abuse and violence is a difficult topic. And whilst one third of victims are men, there is little conversation about their experiences and little resources for them.
Abuse in heterosexual relationships in which men are the abused most often looks different to how it is portrayed in the public. Which leaves men isolated and insecure about whether their experiences are valid.
In this episode of the MenTell Health Podcast I talk about abusive relationships in general terms, specific to men as victims and my own experiences.

The age old argument that money doesn't buy happiness is most often made by people with money. And whilst people with money still suffer from mental health problems, there is a link between the rise of depression, anxiety and other forms of mental health problems, and the lack of financial stability. Depression comes with different symptoms, many of which are not well known or obvious. In this episode, I shed some light on what some of the different symptoms can look like.
