Music pervades the world. Whether it’s a product jingle, a movie soundtrack, the latest pop hit, or a Mozart symphony, music is all around us, playing in ear buds, wireless speakers, car radios, and even a few boomboxes. Music has also played a large part in the history of science. In the 17th Century, Johannes Kepler formulated his famous laws of planetary motion, which he called the “music of the spheres,” and today science continues to look for the harmonies and symmetries of nature. In the field of neuroscience, researchers have found that brain oscillations are organized into harmonic relationships, which begins to sound like the human body is intertwined with what mystical traditions call the “the harmony of the universe.” Today’s guests are Lisa Masé and Evan Premo, the co-founders of ThirdTone who have taken these principles to develop music and natural tones to put brain and body in harmony, something that many of can surely use. Today your host, Philip Comella, delves into this fascinating subject with Lisa and Evan. You can see them playing live here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1rdQx… Third Tone: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/thirdto…

When I started this show over a decade ago, I asked a friend what they thought about me starting a podcast and if it would be worth the time.
So, I started the show and now have two shows. I paid my mortgage and put food on the table, and both my shows are ranked in the top 5% of all business podcasts. In hindsight, yes, it was worth it. At the time, I was a nervous wreck!
So, navigating change is real and constant!

We will start this session with movement that will help us get warmed up for the mindfulness wave activity. I adapted the Wave Exercise activity from www.stressteens.com. The information and activities are geared toward teens to guide them to use mindfulness practices using evidence-based Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction for Teens (MBSR-T). This podcast aims to bring awareness on how to scale levels of importance and emotional stress based on Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. Abraham Maslow introduced the hierarchy of needs in his 1943 paper “A Theory of Human Motivation.”
You will need paper and four or five color markers for the activity. I will ask you to write down nine items and rank their importance on a scale of zero to ten. If those items are depleted in your life, you will be asked to measure the stress level you think you would experience by ranking the feeling of stress on a scale of zero to ten. Choose a color that would represent that level of stress. Turn your paper over. Turn it horizontally. Finally, draw three big waves. For each wave, color the wave the color that represents the stress levels.
Join me during this episode as I guide you through this activity step-by-step. Finally, I invite you to open your mind to possible changes and choices to respond to stress.

In this podcast, I explain the concept of liberty and how it differs
from freedom. But liberty or freedom do have some limits that are
defined by social norms, moral laws or the rule of written laws.
However, liberty must be equally applied to all people in order to be
fair and just even if the laws as not. This message will clarify these
things is a simple and hopefully memorable way. Enjoy.
