For this episode, I don’t have an interview to share but I do have a list of 5 tips I've created for you to consider when creating a character for your next D&D Campaign.

This past week (November 2022) I had the privilege of leading an introduction to Dungeons and Dragons workshop for 36 of my fellow-students at Kutztown University. The lesson covered the basics, character creation, and methods for getting a game started. This meeting had a combination of both new and experienced players, which made for a good amount of in depth discussion that made everyone in the room excited for their next D&D session. The day after, I met with my academic advisor, Dr. Andrew Miness to discuss the events of the workshop and how to see them through the lens of an educator. This week's episode of D20EDU is a recording of the events of this discussion with Dr. Miness, we touch bass on points like the state of modern education in the United States, ways to develop yourself as a growing teacher, and emotional intelligence.

As an educator with a focus in the field of Social Studies, there are numerous facts and stories that are presented to students. There is nothing saying that class needs to be a dredge of presentations and memorization, instead, class should be a fun, enthralling, collaborative storytelling experience… just like playing a game of dungeons and dragons!
As someone who is innately fascinated by the art of storytelling, teaching and dming naturally intrigue me! The goal of this podcast is to introduce methods of instruction, exposition, storytelling, etc. that can be used in the classroom, or at your Tabletop roleplaying game.
