Study to become a Better Actor
When it comes to our craft, we often think about getting to the next level. We think about getting around more talented people, better resources, more support and we believe all these things will push us forward. The truth is, what makes us better, in our craft, is studying. We play how we practice and so actors and filmmakers alike, have to practice their craft to become better otherwise we risk becoming stagnant.

Overcoming Self Doubt as a Filmmaker
Sometimes we encounter self-doubt. We begin to doubt our own ability, our project and if people even care. This, of course, is natural but when we do encounter these harsh days, we have to know or learn how to continue pushing forward. We can't stop progressing even on tough days. This is what we call discipline, and this is how we overcome self-doubt.

Tips from Directors | Make a Movie
Here Ridley Scott urges new and inspiring filmmakers to "Make a Movie". That is the art of filmmaking, DOING. Many of us regardless of if we were or are students at film school or the filmmakers who are self-taught, have the habit of holding back. For one reason or the other we tend to push our courage back. But waiting is a trap, we must strive to create and create now. We have to make movies, films, videos, vlogs, commercials, music videos, whatever it is that gets us behind the camera, behind the editing system and that makes us better where we can work on our crafts and improve.

How to Handle Actors
Typically, when we think of directors, it's a guy sitting in a chair, yelling directions like "Lights, Camera, Action" but there is more to directing actors than that. Filmmaking as a whole is about collaboration and that extends to the relationship between a Director and Actor. That's the relationship I explore here, as director and actor work together to find that sweet spot, that great performance which takes the screenplay, the art, the film to the next level.

How to be a Good Movie Director
For beginning filmmakers and furthermore all creators interested in narrative work, here is some filmmaker tips I've learned simply by making a movie. There is a bunch of us who call ourselves creators, filmmakers, directors and so forth. However, we all don't get to the level we want to be on because of life, things happen, and we find ourselves unable to finish projects.

How Directors should Manage Time
When placed in the role of the Director, it can be safe to imagine that the Director is somewhat like a painter and the scenes his painting. So, we usually have this idea of a director taking the upmost care with every scene, but we must also remember that perfection is subjective and what matters more than any one scene is the entire project. Therefore, managing time becomes of the upmost important as part of the job of the Director is delegating time.

Anchor of Film
Filmmakers can get caught up with the "bells and whistles" of movies. We want things to look great, we want the narrative to flow, and we want to entertain, and we want to do things that have never been done before. Therefore, it's common for emerging filmmakers to create "fluff" without substance. That's why we have to remember our "Anchor" the thing that brings the film together, that message the film is trying to communicate. Regardless of if it's a comedy, actions movie or rom com and so on, every movie needs a foundation that holds everything together.
