Hi all! Welcome back to the Chambersburg to College podcast. This week, we interview Shaquasia Gordon, Howard University class of 2023, and CASHS class of 2019. We talk about Shaquasia’s experience applying and entering college at a Historically Black University (HBCU) and how that may be a little different from some of her classmates who entered Predominantly White Institution (PWI) -- as well as how she delineated power from the student body around her at Howard. Shaquasia hopes that her story can shed a light on an option that is often not looked at by CASHS students and hopes that HBCUs can be seen as a possibility rather than just something we talk about. Thanks for tuning in and we hope you enjoy it!

Welcome back to the Chambersburg to College podcast! This week, we interview Jay Eury, CASHS class of 2006, and William and Mary, Class of 2010. Jay is a leader in our community, having helped lead the Franklin County portion of the Gleaning Project and organizing the North Square Farmer’s Market. Yet, in high school, all Jay wanted to do was read books. We chronicle a few steps along the way in Jay’s life to where he is now: enrolling at William and Mary, becoming an American Studies major, driving his 18 wheeler across the United States, and returning to his roots back here in Chambersburg. For those who are interested in community service or want to become a service leader in the community, we believe this podcast is for you!

One note -- due to some technical difficulties, Jay’s audio had to be recorded using different software, giving it a phone voice sound. We apologize and still hope you glean some useful information. Thanks for tuning in and we hope you enjoy it!
