This week's love story belongs to a pair of storytellers destined for the big screen, Dylan and Jen from British Columbia.
Once upon a time, Jen was a model traveling the world while Dylan was skating toward a hockey career. As so often happens, life had surprises in store for them. She became an actor and filmmaker, and he landed a role in one of Canada's most successful TV shows.
Their journeys collided with a chance meeting through an agent which eventually led to a romantic proposal.
You might recognize Dylan from helping educate in the 4 C’s from the Charm Diamonds tv commercials.

Shawn knew at a young age he had a special gift, but he further understood his purpose after having a vision of his father, who had passed away. Since then, it's been his purpose to connect with the other side.
His work is all about love, as he helps people heal through his gift of connecting them to lost loved ones. Shawn believes our connection to the world beyond the physical realm is inside all of us. All we have to do is give it a chance, and listen.

Marissa and Anthony were teen sweethearts who had a fairy-tale relationship. When Anthony passed away unexpectedly at 36, Marisa was left with intense grief, 3 daughters to raise and a long-lost memory of an orange Honda CRX.
20 years after the car had been sold, a nostalgic search began. With the support of friends, family and even strangers - she was reunited with her late husband’s prized possession.
The newly found car is now a labour of love, as Marisa is bringing it back to it's old form. The project is helping those who loved Anthony keep his memory alive.

Today's love story belongs to Dena Edwards Wadden. Imagine being diagnosed with a dangerous form of cancer at 33. That's exactly what happened to Dena just a few days after her daughter's second birthday.
But not only did she do well with her treatment, she turned the tables on ovarian cancer and created Teal To Heal, a community fundraiser event in support of women undergoing treatment for Ovarian cancer. To Dena's surprised, the community wrapped its arms around this event and surpassed all her goals, by a lot.
It's been called the largest free ovarian cancer fundraiser in Canada. And you need to know about it.

Before Dani came along, Alison and Bryan were young a couple who decided to part ways. But when they both traveled to Guatemala for serparate solo adventures, Bryan decided to write a love letter to Alision to get her back. Bryan's letter worked and their trips turned into a romantic new begining that led to their 36 year marriage.
Now, their daughter Dani has earned a top 30 finalist position in the World Class bartending competition and entered the national competition as an alternate. Much like this story, the Liquid Love Letter is equal measures of romance, travel, and adventure.

This story encompasses sorrow, but also a surprising amount of joy. Filled with immense strength, resilience, and many skills they gained in Ukraine, they are both thriving in their careers and enjoying their new Canadian home. When a war breaks out across the sea, it's so easy to feel helpless. This week's story belongs to someone who dropped everything and made his way to the Ukraine Polish border to help, face to face. Forbes March is a British-born, Canadian actor, model, businessman, husband, and father. He heard the cry for help from Ukraine loud and clear. Forbes, along with two brave friends, decided to travel to Poland to help distribute goods to women and children in need, while also joining other volunteer efforts.
What he experienced changed him. But as he recounts, even in a war zone, the good can be found in the helpers.
The magic of movies is that they open our eyes to the lives of others, inspire connection and provide hope. Today's love story belongs to "Dawn, Her dad and The Tractor". That's the Canadian film that's making waves internationally, and maybe even changing the world. The story features a young trans woman, Dawn, who returns to her hometown that remembers her as a boy. There, she reconnects with her family and repairs a relationship with her father.
Dawn is played by trans actor and activist Maya V. Henry. Her father, John Andrew, is played by Rob Wells famous for his portrayal of Ricky in the phenomenally successful Trailer Park Boys franchise. Another TPB alumnus, Shelly Thompson is the writer, director and producer of this piece of art.
Shelley, Maya and Rob joined us for a conversation about the love for the film's story, their experience working together as an on-set family and the positive impacts of the film.

Life has a crazy way of bringing people together, and back together. The colourful individuals in this story come from different backgrounds and have led quite eventual lives individually, and together. This week's love story belongs to Christine and Chris from Fort Langley, BC. They met at age 16 in the UK working at a butcher shop, near the end of the Second World War. Christine was an impressionable young woman who ended up belly dancing in the Middle East for a famous pop star. Chris was a keen choirboy who was rescued from the rubble when his home was hit by a bomb. After many plot twists and turns, including a famous engagement, love letters and a night in jail, they have been together nearly 60 years.

What happened next was a reunion that was a long time coming. One that was truly meant to be.
This week's love story started at a farmers market and blossomed over a long first date and a bouquet of....asparagus! Renee dropped lots of hints when she frequently delivered baked goods to Dixon's stall at the local Farmer's Market, and eventually she asked him out on a date. Kandy and Donnie were a couple enjoying life together, when their world got turned upside down. Kandy was diagnosed with cervical cancer and faced a tough battle. Through it all, she remained hopeful and positive.
When Kandy's cancer got worse, the couple decided to embrace a happy ending and get married in their home, surrounded by family and friends. A month later Kandy sadly passed away. But her kind spirit and bright outlook, has changed Donnie's life for the better.
From a young age, Marvin and Therese's marriage inspired their daughter Rebecca.
Rebecca stumble upon a rare and profound photo of her father at a Holocaust exhibit. Both her parents individually experienced one of the world's most horrific chapters. As two Holocaust survivors who suffered through their own personal tragedies, they endured a series of miracles, that has inspired Rebecca to share their stories.

Their romance started in the 80's in a dance club but ended after life had them going separate directions. Despite being heartbroken, Chantal always felt their story was unfinished.

Finally Kevin and Chantal were able to get a second chance at love.
Natalie and Donnell are a couple who captured the hearts of Canada with their energetic Celtic music performances. Before they even met, they admired each others music from a far. Donnell eventually found his way to Natalie after hearing her mix tape and making a trip to Cape Breton. The rest is history.
The couple are now musical collaborators and are enjoying life with their 7 children - who all happen to be fiddlers and step dancers. This musical family continues to spread the joy of music across the country virtually.
Marissa and Anthony were teen sweethearts who had a fairy tale relationship. When Anthony passed away unexpectedly at 36, Marisa was left with intense grief, 3 daughters to raise and a long lost memory of an orange Honda CRX.
20 years after the car had been sold, a nostalgic search began. With the support of friends, family and even strangers - she was reunited with her late husband’s prized possession.
The newly found car is now a labour of love, as Marisa is bringing it back to it's old form. The project is helping those who loved Anthony keep his memory alive.
