VieTalk Project was established in December 2020 as a free learning experience catering to foreign-born Vietnamese. VieTalk is run and powered by Vietnamese natives whose mission is to provide Vietnamese cultural and linguistic insights via lecture sessions. In this podcast, VieTalk students share their stories and opinions on issues close to their hearts, Vietnamese culture, and many more.
As the finale of the podcast series, Long, Kevin, and Nicole will open up and tell their experiences with Vietnamese culture and traditions that are no longer considered appropriate by today's standards. This podcast promises to deliver powerful stories since they are coming from authentic and vulnerable places.Â
Vietnamese food is a staple for storytelling and discussion. In this podcast, Annalynn, Augustus, Johnny, and Tina reflected on their school-time experience of bringing Vietnamese lunch and how their friends perceived it. They also examined how food can be a love language from each of their perspective. Humorous. Relatable. Authentic.
As children of immigrants, many of us struggle with the generational differences between us and our parents. Our parents who grew up with traditional values and mindsets, and we who grew up in another generation and country with other values and mindsets–what struggles have we faced, and how did we deal with them?
