Episode Introduction: It’s time to deal with how you really feel. Tune in to find out more! Episode Summary: In today’s episode of the purple butterfly podcast, our guest Dana Skoglund walks us through the importance of normalizing our unpleasant emotions and regulating them instead of suppressing them so that we can create healthier habits for ourselves in the longer run. Key Takeaways:

As kids, we’re often taught to associate our unpleasant emotions with negative habits instead of regulating them which can show up as long-term disorders in our adult lives. It’s unfair for us to shame ourselves about feeling negative emotions when they are just as much a part of our lives as positive ones. One shouldn’t blame others for the way they feel. How to Regulate Negative Emotions:

Have awareness about the unpleasant feeling that you’re experiencing. Notice how it makes you feel within your body. Shift the focus of your thoughts. Identify the unmet need causing the emotion and associate it with a healthy habit to meet the need.

Episode Introduction: It’s time to stop society from deciding how we treat ourselves. Tune in to find out more! Episode Summary: In today’s episode of The Purple Butterfly, our guest Amanda Ferrat talks about Emotional Freedom Techniques and how they benefit our mental health through physical tapping techniques. We also discuss the toxic hustle culture of the modern day and why it’s important to overcome it. Key Takeaways:

EFT tapping helps you work through your past experiences and regulate the emotions that they trigger. If you’re dealing with a medically diagnosed mental health issue, it’s recommended that you work with an EFT professional to help you rather than approaching the situation with a DIY technique. Self-care is not just about self-indulgence. Practicing self-care is not about trying to mold yourself into someone you’re not, it’s about finding time for things you genuinely enjoy.

Episode Summary: In today’s episode of The Purple Butterfly Podcast, our guest William Brown talks about the importance of detaching ourselves from our labels and understanding who we really are. He talks about how he helps his clients work through this and also shares some tips on how you can get started on the journey of being your most authentic self. Key Takeaways:

Sometimes, self-care is about taking some quiet time and figuring out what you really want. Self-reflection can truly help you get in sync with your inner self and get in alignment with what you need. What makes you “YOU” is all up to you. Sometimes, just your presence without all your labels is enough. The process of being your most authentic self begins by detaching yourself from your labels. Other people’s opinion of you has nothing to do with you.

William’s Self-Care Looks Like:

Separating himself from his external environment. Going to the beach. Walking in the woods.

Episode Introduction: It’s time you choose yourself before others. Tune in to find out more! Episode Summary: In today’s episode of The Purple Butterfly Podcast, our guest Sakinna J talks about the power in choosing ourselves before the rest of the world. Often as women, we undermine our own importance and serve everyone else first, this episode aims to switch that narrative around by highlighting the importance and power of self-love. Key Takeaways:

How to Start Your Self-Love Journey:

Do the things that you truly enjoy. Have a career that you have a passion for. Ensure that your body is well rested. Have positive and encouraging relationships. Think loving thoughts about yourself. Have a positive mindset. Date yourself. Forgive yourself.

Having a good support system around you makes it easier to balance the multiple roles you play in your life. It is important for you to get comfortable with your own company. Don’t wait for someone else in order to do the things you want to do for yourself. When you’re happier within yourself, it radiates outwards and the people around you can observe that.

Episode Introduction: It’s time to manifest abundance into your life. Tune in to find out how! Episode Summary: In this week’s episode of The Purple Butterfly Podcast, our guest Stormy King joins us to talk about the hardships she faced since she was a child and how she overcame them all by taking control of her own destiny with the power of manifestation. If you’re ready to be in control of your life, this episode is for you. Key Takeaways:

Other people’s opinion about what we want doesn’t matter. Financial freedom looks different for everyone. It’s about understanding your values and having your finances be in sync with them. One of the greatest things you can do is give without ever being in the need to receive. In order to manifest what you want in life, have 100% faith that it’s going to happen without an ounce of doubt on it. Whole-heartedly believing that you’re worth something is the key to manifestation. It’s important to uncover why you want to manifest something before you can actually manifest it. Once you know your “why”, think about what actions you can take to make it happen.

Episode Introduction:

In today’s episode of The Purple Butterfly Podcast, we’re talking about some simple yet impactful mindset shifts that you can make today to improve your mental, emotional, and physical wellness. Tune in to find out more!

Episode Summary:

Krystal Jackson joins us to talk about some wonderful ways that one can work on their mindset without overwhelming themselves with the simple framework “AIM”, she also talks about boundary setting, belief systems, generational and cultural impact on the way we think, and of course, her self care routine.

Key Takeaways:

  • Everything in our lives stems from our mindset.
  • As you begin your day, allow yourself the time to simply exist and do little things that help you transition into your day in a mindful manner rather than waking up and rushing to finish tasks.
  • It’s important to communicate your boundaries in order for you to be able to maintain them.
  • If you wouldn’t say it to someone else, don’t say it to yourself either.
  • Our inner talk can make us our best friend or our biggest bully - it’s upon us to choose.
  • It is completely natural for us to have different beliefs as we grow up and start understanding ourselves better than we had as children.
  • It’s important to understand what things are worth advocating about and what things are simply worth observing.
  • To take charge of your mindset, you have to have AIM:

A - Awareness

I - Intent & Identification

M - Management

Krystal’s Self-Care Looks Like:

  • Going to the gym.
  • Drinking enough water.
  • Putting phone on DND often.
  • Social media detox.
  • Cooking and listening to R’n’B.
  • Spending time with loved ones.

Episode Introduction: Our guest today has made it her life’s mission to help parents be accountable for the mistakes they made knowingly or unknowingly and help them make amends with their children regardless of how old they may be in order to fix their relationship. Episode Summary: Tasha Bryd walks us through her journey of discovering the freedom to choose and how she’s now using that philosophy to help others embrace the luxury of being able to choose how life works out for them. She talks about what led her to do this, how she helps, her upcoming line of apparel as well as her self care routine. Key Takeaways:

Sometimes as a parent, all it takes is a simple yet sincere apology to make amends with your children. You have to be able to forgive in order to move forward and heal. No matter how old you are, you always have the freedom to choose where you want to go from this point on.

Tasha’s Self-Care Looks Like:

Focusing on her breath while meditating on scriptures. Planting.
