When Monica Thomas was diagnosed with lupus in 2012, her world was turned upside down. Yet, she refused to let her condition define her. In an uplifting and deeply personal conversation, Monica joins me, Christopher Massey, to share the powerful story of her battle with this chronic autoimmune disease. Together, we peel back the layers of lupus, examining its forms and how it uniquely affects individuals while emphasizing the vital need for increased awareness, especially in church communities. Monica's journey is not just about living with lupus but thriving despite it, as she reveals the instrumental role of her faith and the scriptures that have fortified her resilience.

Monica's narrative is a testament to the transformative power of faith, the importance of a supportive family, and the bravery it takes to advocate for one's health. We delve into the significant life adjustments and the unwavering support of her husband throughout their 24-year marriage, proving that love can indeed weather the storms of illness. Monica's advocacy extends to her listeners, as she imparts wisdom on approaching treatment with a blend of medical insight, spiritual affirmation, and a mindset that refuses to accept defeat. Embark on a transformative journey with me, Christopher Massey, as we confront the idols that vie for our devotion in the newest series, "Choosing God." Unpacking Joshua 24:14-15, this episode is a rallying cry to serve the Lord with unwavering sincerity and faithfulness. We're cutting through the noise of politics and personal agendas to uncover the profound simplicity of placing God at the center of our lives. As I guide you through the stories of Joshua and the golden calf, alongside David's heart for God, we'll explore the freedom that comes with making the conscious decision to serve Him, just as Joshua did for his household.
This discussion isn't just another sermon; it's a heartfelt conversation about realigning our hearts and decisions with the will of God. We'll dissect the dangers of the "self-made" mentality and the seduction of secular ideologies that threaten to lead us astray. It's time to bring into the light what competes for precedence over God in our lives and to renew our commitment to building our foundations on His Word. Join me for an episode that promises not only introspection but also a reinvigorated dedication to embodying the truths of scripture in every facet of our daily walk. Let "Choosing God" be more than a choice—it's a way of life.
