Season 2: Episode 26 – Filthy Rags (Isaiah 64)

In episode 26 of Season 2, we examine the Isaiah 64 passage that people twist and poorly use to claim that our righteousness (Even when being transformed in Christ and living in Him, through Him, and in obedience to Him) is still considered as filthy rags to God. That our best day in Him and through Him, is still a filthy rag to Him. This is foolish. This passage is not about the righteousness in Christ that we now get to live out. It is about false righteousness, self made righteousness...that is apart from Christ. Jesus said we can do nothing apart from Him, but we bear much fruit in Him. And in this episode we thoroughly untwist this teaching false teaching about Isaiah 64.

Season 2: Episode 12 – The Man Delivered By Jesus

In episode 12 of Season 2, we examine how Paul answers his own question because he is telling a story, a story of salvation and the born again experience. We finish up Romans 7 and follow along as it seamlessly flows into Romans 8 and Paul declares the beautiful truth that Jesus is the answer and the one that delivered us from our body of death! And he teaches that we are free from the law of sin and death and that the old marriage of living trapped under law and sin (as he portrays in Romans 7) has been broken. We are no longer those controlled by the sinful nature or those living under the flesh. We now walk according to the Spirit. The body of death and marriage to the law type of life that Paul talks about is in direct contrast to everything that surrounds it. This is intentional because Paul is telling a story, he is telling a testimony of salvation. It is about how we can do nothing apart from Christ and we bore fruit for death, but in Christ we bear much fruit, we bear fruit to God.

Season 2: Episode 6 – Slaves of Righteousness

In episode 6 of Season 2, we finish up Romans 6 and the beauty that it teaches us about how we are no longer slaves to sin but are now slaves of righteousness. And that righteousness leads to true sanctification. And how we are to present our members to righteousness, and never present them to sin. We are never to see ourselves for sin. The wages of sin is death, shameful, and empty. The wages which Christ worked and accomplished, and that He freelygives to us are sanctification and eternal life.

Beautiful passage about our call to imitate God and live out His likeness that we were made in. Also touches on sereral great things: repentance, not letting any unwholesome things proceed from our mouths but only things that edify, not grieving the Holy Spirit by living less than our design and calling, putting away all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, slander, and malice, and instead truly forgiving others with the forgiveness God has given us. And walking in the Gospel Love of Christ that is selfless and lays down its life, and our call to live our life as a sacrifice and fragrant aroma to God.

In episode 5 of the podcast, I begin to build upon the foundation of forgiveness that I laid out in the last episode. I dig into the biblical meanings of both grace, and righteousness and how important they are. Grace is divine empowerment, and it empowers righteous living. Righteousness is being made right with God with no separation, and righteousness also means what is right according to God's standard (It is the opposite of sin). I dive deep into these subjects and how because of the foundation of forgiveness and being freed from the prison of sin, God's grace is given to empower us and to give us an identity of righteousness, and with that identity of righteousness intact, it produces the fruit of holiness. Good trees produce good fruit. And Jesus has made his followers into good trees. We must believe the identity that God has given us, and we must only define ourselves by Him and His words.
