This podcast explores mental health in athletes, with hopes of educating listeners and destigmatizing mental disorder and mental illness in sport. Tough Guys Only intends to redefine what it means to be a "tough guy" in the competitive, ruthless world of sport through the use of information from academic journals, as well as personal experience.
In this episode, Sam talks about depression disorders and anxiety disorders in the athlete population, as well as her own experience with the two types of disorders. This episode also talks about different suggestions for athletes who are dealing with mental health issues and the stigma pertaining to mental illness and athletes. To wrap things up, Sam talks about redefining what it means to be a "tough guy" in sport.
