On October 16, Warren Community Church hosted the 97th Annual Fayette Baptist Association Meeting. Introduced by the new Director of Missions, Dr. Gregg Hauss - the night closed with a powerful message from guest speaker, Dr. Roc Collins, based in Romans 10. Dr. Roc Collins is the Strategic Objectives Director for the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board (TBMB). In that role, he oversees TBMB’s work related to evangelism, discipleship, church planting, church revitalization, Cooperative Program, and Golden Offering for Tennessee Missions giving initiatives. Pastor Ken continues our series on The Gospel-Centered Family with a lesson from Proverbs 27 on what the Bible says about handling finances. We are called to "go and make disciples, teaching them all things" and that includes teaching one another what Jesus said about stewardship of the blessings God has given us.
Pastor Matthew continues The Gospel-Centered Family series by opening Psalm 78 to teach about the urgency for the Church to reach the next generation! As the story of Joshua demonstrates, we can easily be just one generation away from losing our future to the things of this world. It is of upmost importance for older generations to reach, disciple, and train the coming generations (our children) to follow the Lord wholeheartedly!
We take a pause from our current sermon series to acknowledge the celebration of America's Independence Day with a message from the book of Nehemiah. Pastor Ken walks us through Nehemiah's agony over the destruction of Jerusalem and his mission to rebuild, confess their sins, and improve the land going forward. It is an encouragement to modern-day American Christians to never give up praying, seeking the Lord, repenting, and striving to live with the Gospel as their focus.
Join us this week as Pastor Matthew picks The Gospel-Centered Family series back up with a message from Joshua 24 on how the family can be strengthened in the Lord to serve Him more. "As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."
Join us for a celebration of Father's Day as we hear the stories of three men within our church body who are in various stages of fatherhood! First is Luke Watkins - a foster parent for 2 years and now father to his own 3 month old son. Next up is Brian Culver - father to 4 children ranging from 22 years old and newly married to 12 years old still in middle school. Last is Coy Jones - a father to a blended family, along with a daughter who has special needs. This was a touching service with some of our young men helping to lead worship and some great testimonies!
Pastor Ken continues our The Gospel-Centered Family series with a message on what the Bible says about adoption. One out of every 25 families in the United States has either adopted a child or has someone they know has adopted a child, so this a very topical conversation to have with the Church. First, he shares the definition of adoption and then discusses actual examples of adoption in the Bible. He also uses select scriptures to teach what God says about a Christian's responsibility to care for the orphan. Finally, he closes with the message of salvation through adoption into God's family - He is our Father and we are His sons!
Join us this week as Pastor Matthew continues The Gospel Centered-Family series with a look at what the Bible actually says about interracial marriages and also how two families merged together through divorce/new marriage should treat one another respectfully and carefully. You might think the end of this chapter is just a list of names, but as Pastor Ken shares, it carries a much deeper meaning about the importance of friendships. All of Christ's friends (disciples) were changed forever by His resurrection and ultimately gave their lives for His cause. The apostle Paul's friends listed here in Colossians helped him carry out his ministry - we all need help to achieve what God has called us to do. Behind every successful person is an array of friends who use their gifts & talents to help one another. The bond that holds our Church Body together is Jesus Christ!

This week, we had a very special celebration Sunday! In July 2020, Aisen Cannon - son of Bobby & Kristen and little brother to Anna, Adam, & Abe - was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. On March 15, 2023 he completed week 120 of 120 chemo treatments, had his port removed, and had to undergo several tests to see if he was still in remission. Throughout this difficult journey, the Cannon family has chosen to praise God every step of the way. Their faith has been an inspiration to our church family and we wanted to help them share their testimony with all who would listen! We sang all of Aisen's favorite worship songs with our Warren Kids (Abe & Aisen even helped lead a couple of them!), we all wore blue (Aisen's favorite color), and we told the story of God's faithfulness in their lives. Listen as Kristen and Bobby share all they've faced over the last 3 years and how God's goodness carried them through it all. Best of all, as of March 21, 2023, Aisen is ALL CLEAR - praise the Lord!!!! This week, Pastor Matthew continues our series, "In All Things... Christ's Preeminence" by opening up Colossians 3:12-17. In Christ, we have been given a new "wardrobe" - we take off the old things and the new can be put on in His name. We have a new identity and therefore live in compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, endurance, and most of all love! This new wardrobe enables (and commands) us to live in peace with one another as believers and live for His renown.
This week, Pastor Ken opened Colossians 3:1-11 to continue our "In All Things... Christ's Preeminence" series. In Christ, we have a new freedom, a new foundation, a new focus, and should have a new fervor to share Him with all the world! "Seek, set, and put to death" is the theme of this message shared by Paul.
Pastor Matthew continues our series in Colossians, "In All Things... Christ's Preeminence" by opening chapter 2, verses 11-23. Paul is addressing the legalism that was rampant in Colosse - when legalism comes into the picture, forgiveness takes a backseat because it becomes more about us than it does about Christ.
“Forgiveness is the divine miracle of grace; it cost God the Cross of Jesus Christ before He could forgive sin and remain a holy God… When once you realize all that it cost God to forgive you, you will be held as in a vice, constrained by the love of God.” - Oswald Chambers
Our series in Colossians, "In All Things... Christ's Preeminence", continues with Colossians 1:19-2:10. Pastor Ken will share how the Person and Work (the cross) of Christ confirm that He is God. Many try to attack the deity of Christ, but the Bible reveals the truth of who He is and what He did for us through His death, burial, and resurrection. Colosse struggled with these attacks & false teachings, so Paul wrote this letter to encourage them to trust Jesus! We also can stand firm in the truth of God's Word and know that we have been reconciled to God through Christ's blood.
Pastor Matthew continues our Colossians series, "In All Things... Christ's Preeminence", with verses 9-18 of chapter 1. Paul encourages the Colossians to abandon their twisted view of Scripture simply by elevating Jesus to them! We don't need a marketing strategy to share Jesus - all we have to do is confess who He is and His power over the earth. Paul is just "bragging on Jesus" with praise of His glory.

This week, Pastor Ken starts our new series, "In All Things... Christ's Preeminence". He gives the background of the author (Paul), who it was written to (Saints of Colosse), and who helped craft and deliver the letter (Timothy/Epaphras). Jesus Christ is at the center of this book - He's mentioned 6 times in the first 8 verses!
Pastor Matthew is closing out our "Serve the Lord with Gladness" with the last verse of Psalm 100 - "For the LORD is good, and His loving devotion endures forever; His faithfulness continues to all generations." It's all about the goodness of God's mercy and faithfulness. He hears your cry and is faithful to meet you where you are, beloved.
This week, we continue our "Serve the Lord with Gladness" series with Psalm 100:4. Pastor Ken shares with us how the Lord has invited us to enter His gates with thanksgiving and by blessing His name!
Pastor Matthew is continuing our "Serve the Lord with Gladness" series with Psalm 100:3. "Know that the LORD, He is God; it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture." We can trust Him and follow Him because He loves us. He is unequaled in His power and position and is worthy to be praised!

This week, we'll hear from Pastor Ken as he continues our study in Hosea called "Unbreakable Love for Unlovable People". He will be opening Hosea 8 to discuss how Israel had forgotten His Maker and what that meant for their nation at the same/how it can be applied to us today.
In this week's episode, Pastor Matthew is continuing our series called "Unbreakable Love for Unlovable People" by taking a look at Hosea 7. This text deals with the corruption of Israel's government and the consequences that occurred as a result of this corruption. God is filled with mercy, grace, and love but He is also just and cannot let sin go unpunished.
Pastor Ken is continuing our "Unbreakable Love for Unlovable People" series with a look in Hosea 6:4-11. Judgment by God was coming for Israel because they turned their backs on Him and were disobedient. But His promise of Jesus' coming still rings true and we celebrate His goodness with the Lord's Supper.
This week, Pastor Matthew is diving into Hosea 5 to give us the "bad news" ... Israel has been indicted by God for neglecting worship and becoming a corrupt nation. God has withdrawn Himself from them because they dealt treacherously with Him. But there is good news to come in Hosea 6 - if they will acknowledge their offense and seek His face, He will come back to them.
Join us as Pastor Ken continues our series "Unbreakable Love for Unlovable People" by looking at Hosea 4. God charges Israel with their sin and warns the people of Judah not to follow suit. We can take this warning as an application to prepare for Jesus' second coming!
As we continue our series in Hosea, "Unbreakable Love for Unlovable People", Pastor Matthew is opening up Hosea 3 to discuss the comparisons between the Gospel, Hosea's love for Gomer, and God's love for Israel. The focus of the Gospel is God loving man - undeserving, unlovable, and exhausted sinners - and Hosea focuses on his love for Gomer who continually betrayed their marriage vows. It's a beautiful illustration of God's grace and mercy for us.

Join us this week in Hosea 2:2-23 as Pastor Ken teaches on Christ being "The Door of Hope." This is a story of a very unfaithful people, but a very faithful God. The Nation of Israel have turned their back on God and are in a season of spiritual adultery. God's judgment is certain, for he abhors sin's; but God is faithful to his people and his love stands firm!
Hosea 2:14 "Therefore, behold, I will allure her..."
God uses Hosea and Gomer to illustrate Israel turning their back on their first love, but ultimately redeeming them and bringing them back to Him.

Matthew 24:1-4 | A Biological Problem: The Pandemic | We can all agree that the year 2020 was a strange and difficult year. COVID-19 has effected so many people even to the point of death. This virus has put a lot of fear in the secular culture and (sadly), the body of Christ. As children of God we have NOTHING to fear. Who can stand against us if our God is for us? He will see us through any trial regardless of Satan's attempts to cast despair and fear in us. No struggle can befall us as children of God because even if we stare death in the face, we know that directly proceeding is the face of Jesus. No sickness, no disease, no trial, no tribulation... can ever separate us from the love of God!

It is obvious that any faithful husband and father will take responsibility to provide for himself and his family. The church must be the example regarding hard work, especially since our laboring is for the kingdom of God. However, we do not labor for Salvation, for that is not earned by merit, but we strive for obedience to Christ through the proclamation of the Gospel and the growth of the church.

Acts 26:28, 11:26, 1 Peter 4:16 | What is a Christian, and what does a true Christian look like? So many want to assume that God will pardon their sin and grant them access to Heaven because He is kind and merciful. Although that statement is true God is equally just and sin must be atoned for. That's exactly what Christ did on the cross. He took on sin and fulfilled the law by paying the price for our sin on our behalf for all those who put their faith and trust in Him. Christ's sacrifice on the cross provided the way to receive salvation, The Holy Spirit is actively keeping the christian saved through the process of sanctification, and the body and soul are glorified in heaven which is the end of our salvation. It is all done SOLI DEO GLORIA... For the glory of God alone.
