Sarah O’Brien Hammond is the founder of the NoW NYC. She spent over 25 successful years in recruitment and never thought she was going to become an entrepreneur. However, when she started reflecting on what success really means to her and what she values the most, she also realized that she was at a loss as to her own life purpose. It dawned on her that as we grow older, our definition of success changes along with our needs and motivators. She then embarked on some sort of self-exploration and re-evaluation, she unsubscribed from the societal concept of success, which is from money, power, and influence. Then she started creating communities for women where they could openly discuss things that truly matter to them but which are not normally part of mainstream conversations. Drifting away from the world’s idea of success to her translated into the priority of intentions she listed at the onset of the following year onwards.

Highlights:

  • From acquiring money, power, and influence, her new definition of success now revolves around the purpose of prioritizing family. Family over making money.
  • Redefining success necessitates an understanding that it is a long runway that requires a lot of sacrifice, strategic planning, working smarter, and being surrounded by the right people.
  • Ingesting the right things in all facets of life is a necessary practice in the transition (the power of positivity)
  • Consistently showing up with one’s best self is necessary if one wants to change and have more control in her personal life.

The NoW NYC is a community of women where members open up and engage in conversations that are otherwise not discussed in other environments. It includes empowering and coaching high-performing women as well as breaking misconceptions on certain issues. Its programming is designed from the feedback of its members. As one intentionally defines her purpose in life, it is important to create stillness, time, and space to dream. It is largely how The NoW NYC benefits its members. In every event, they are supposed to learn something; be inspired to take action; and, should have establish a connection with others. Should you wish to learn more from Sarah and her community, you may look her up through The NoW NYC, sarah@thenownyc.com.

Charlie Beswick is a blogger, an author, CEO of More than a Face, and a mom to 18-year-old twins, Oliver and Harry. While Oliver was born healthy, Harry was born with a craniofacial condition, meaning he had an underdeveloped face and was later diagnosed with autism. Driven to make a difference in people's lives, being a teacher (for over 16 years now), to her feels like second nature. However, despite that deep love for her calling, the challenges of raising a medically complex child made her take a two-year break from teaching. That sabbatical leave gave her time to go back and read all the journals that recorded her honest expression of her frustrations, questions, and struggles to be a mom to a child with special needs, and this formed the basis of her book Our Altered Life.

Highlights:

  • With the support and encouragement of her friends who knew about her journey, she published the book (which she wrote for 9 years), Our Altered Life
  • Parents who reached out to thank her for speaking up for them through the book made her realize she could now help and make a difference among these parents
  • Thus started the creation of a space where people can honestly freely and vulnerably express their feelings without being judged - This community has evolved since recording and is called S.E.N.D* Gin & Cheese
  • Tips for parents who are just beginning on a similar journey: be organized (keep records, write thoughts and feelings), communicate especially to a spouse, and keep connected with a support system
  • Words of encouragement are generally considered helpful in these situations, but a safe space for honest and brutal expression of frustrations could be the long-missing link to true healing

It took her 6 years of mothering Harry before she finally admitted she needed mental health support. And now, instead of encouraging moms to be superwomen, she resonates with the huge emphasis on self-care and simple living. Apart from helping parents with special needs and diagnosis, she also works with organisations who want to better understand and support working carers.

If you want to learn more from her and her journey, look her up at @ouralteredlife.com or info@charliebeswick.

Since her first year in college, she has already started working with certain companies. She eventually created a startup brand, the organ trail, whose cool tagline, "For the love of learning," got her. Following its success, she got to work with four more startups before using all her experiences and expertise with her own company, which she named Savvy Marketing Group. The company started working with tech companies in the first three years but later got asked by other companies outside tech, hence was renamed Savvy Growth.

Highlights:

  • Savvy Growth - with the new name came the new thrust of helping not only companies but also individuals to grow and succeed
  • Corporate therapist - a name given to her as she became the listening ear to all the people and all their issues, including the CEO's of the company
  • Happiness Advantage - having happy employees makes them flourish and be more engaged at work
  • Mental Wellness - is when the person is flourishing, joyful, happy, hopeful, and can cope with stress

Based on positive psychology, Grace believes that it is happiness that creates success and not the other way around. Even money does not bring happiness. But if people could learn to want what they have, they could get off the hedonic treadmill of wanting more. Niki Vinogradoff is a Finnish mindful life coach living with his wife and nine-year-old daughter in the Czech Republic.

His journey to mindful coaching started at his great-grandfather's funeral when he was three. The reality of death and the thought that one day his parents will eventually die was so hard for him to handle. But it made him somehow more meditative about life. After feeling "home" at the Buddhist meditation center a year earlier, he decided to live there when he was twenty-six and stayed there for what he considered as four years of honeymoon with meditation where he had meditated 5-6 hours every day.

Highlights:

  • Mindful life coach - helps/guides clients to open and access wholeness in life through observation beyond the content of the mind
  • Aliveness - being fully alive is a core value that leads to finding oneself at the moment instead of getting lost in it
  • Becoming unlimited - creating the life that we want by asking what is most important to you, by setting/achieving goals; because the more we get what we want, the more we want to do for others

It is hard to set achievable goals, but without goals, there would neither be direction nor results. The fear of failure may hinder one from identifying goals. Still, it is important to do so for a number of benefits including the dopamine blocking the cortisol from getting attached to the body while one is on the way to achieving results.

Since we all desire a more comfortable experience makes setting clear goals more compulsory rather than optional. But it also requires more awareness and mindful focus to set and attain them.

Jeanne Collins is a single mom to a 16-year-old daughter, an entrepreneur, and the founder of JerMar Designs.
After being in Corporate America for 20 years, she found herself unimaginably laid off from her good-paying executive job after her second company was restructured in 2020. Out of job, she focused on her passion for interior design and eventually turned it into a business. Her designs are mostly based on how people want to feel and function in their homes.

Highlights:

  • Reaching out - after realizing her situation, she reached out to everyone for help
  • Taking the risk - You don't have to know all the answers or understand it all; allow yourself to fail
  • Investing in coaching - it is important to find the right coach to help you navigate your life and career journey
  • Prioritizing self and self-care - no hardcore exercise, right food, and physical detox

After leaving the corporate and her executive job, she came to believe that if you do what you love, you will find out how to succeed. She also resonates that nothing is more important than self-care and that it is never too late to refresh, rethink and reinvent oneself after 50 and beyond. If you need her services or what to learn from her, look up www.jermardesigns.com.

Growing up, she was always fascinated with sunrise and sunset and was always interested in eating good food. Pursuing such interest, she studied pre-medicine but decided not to become a medical doctor during her internship. She observed that Western medicine does not seem to heal people as it should.

  • Western medicine - usually addresses the symptoms but not the root causes of the
  • Function and Lifestyle Management - identify the root causes of the symptoms before treating them through food, exercise, and the likes
  • Food and lifestyle - most of the chronic illnesses and co-morbidities are lifestyle-induced
  • Health - is not merely the absence of diseases but a condition of our organs functioning hundred percent

If you, too, struggle to heal diseases with conventional medicine, it’s time to consider other ways of healing, especially lifestyle management. Raised in Virginia, Katherine Wintcsh is married to a great husband and has two children. She spent 15 years of her life in advertising. And then she realized that such agency is a young person's game. Then she started The Mom Complex through which she helps huge companies improve their products and services and sell them to moms. The switch gave her so much joy that she became her boss, got to control her schedule, and had more time for herself as well as for her family.

Highlights:

  • The Mom Complex - a company that helps high-profile brands to understand how moms use the products and the services they prefer
  • Research factor - the research is designed in such a way that moms answer them honestly and accurately through opinion parties instead of focus groups
  • The masked perfect mom - projecting oneself as a perfect know it all mom, according to her research is highly correlated with how bad they feel about themselves
  • Different by design - while men are wired with the ability to focus on one thing, women are wired with thoughts like a spiderweb

Apart from working with great brands, she is also helping women cope with the pressures of being a mom in a society that expects moms to know it all, to do it all, and to know best all the time. Although these could be considered compliments, she wants women to liberate themselves from this mental bondage by prioritizing self-care and by allowing themselves to be vulnerable just like everyone else. Now that she has tamed the "dragon of self-doubt", she is out to help other women do the same. If you want to learn from her, follow her on a different platform by looking up Slay Like a Mother.

Kevin Olmsted resides with his wife and children in California where he was raised. He and his wife both had stable jobs in wine and technical respectively that enabled them to provide well for their family as well as save for vacations, trips, and special occasions. But after 23 years of wine selling, he had to stay home to take care of their child who had displayed symptoms of eating disorder.

Highlights:

  • The symptoms: Their child who used to be a very active and achieving athlete suddenly became withdrawn, and secretive and dramatically lost 30 pounds in two months.
  • The gold standard: Addressing the problem takes one or both parents doing it hands-on and at home.
  • The decision: Since the family could live well enough with what his wife was earning, he decided to be the one to stay home for their anorexic child.
  • The mental shift of perspective: Even his anorexic child encouraged him to write a book to help other families with the same or similar struggles.
  • The need for a support system: It is important to be in a community that understands what you are going through and where you could give and take the necessary support.

What he went through in the last three years and a half is written in his book Scared Dad Feeding. It is not only a record of his experiences but also a way of educating and encouraging other families who might need guidance as they take care of their children who also struggle with the symptoms of anorexia.

One pressing point he wants to get across is that parents should jump to addressing it right away before it is too late.

Tosca DiMatteo grew up in Rochester, New York and relocated to two other states before moving to Brooklyn, where she has lived for 15 years. Growing up, she has always had an orientation of being of service to others in many different ways. Even her 20+ years of corporate life were spent mostly helping people. But being unfulfilled in the corporate world, and seeing new possibilities with the help of her coach, she shifted her entire career. She is now a transformational career and leadership coach, corporate whisperer, speaker, and consultant. She supports organizations to build human-centered cultures, and individuals to unapologetically honor their power, re/discover and show up as their authentic selves.

Highlights:

  • Career mission – help establish healthy workplaces and human-centered environment
  • Ideal workplace -- everybody feels heard, and seen and safe to unapologetically be themselves
  • Corporations -- with their resources and potential could tap their superpowers to do this world a lot of good by lifting and honoring their most essential resource: employees
  • Sharing power – come to the understanding that leaders can garner even better results by sharing power

It seems so utopian to look for a healthy workplace nowadays. But if you are in a place where you are kept small, you hold back, or you are not psychologically or physically safe, you have to walk away. Find a workplace where you can show up as your real self, where you are valued as a human being as just as much as a human doing. If you want to increase your awareness, and know what questions to ask, and ultimately how to break free from this pattern disserving you, learn from Tosca by following her on Instagram or at her website, toscadimatteo.com.

Maria Sirois is a clinical psychologist by training and a positive psychologist by choice. Being an intern assigned to the bone marrow floor at pediatric oncology early in her career, she saw children in their last moments of life and witnessed how families fall apart in those moments. What stunned her though was seeing how those families grow amidst those situations in a gigantic display of human resilience. This inspired her to explore more in this area of positive psychology. She wanted to be the kind of person those parents would make sense to.

Highlights:

  • Positive psychology -- a branch of psychology that touches on the area of resilience (of thriving and of bouncing back)
  • Permission to be human -- the antidote to perfectionism or the anxiety of not being good enough
  • Permission to be magnificent -- a stance of personal leadership (shaping up); allowing oneself to grow towards excellence, not perfection
  • Perfectionism -- a distorted idea of wanting excellence that results in shaming guilt and anxiety about not being good enough
  • Extraordinary resilience -- most of humanity can bounce back to our level of functioning; but extraordinary resilience means bouncing forward, rising to the most excruciating moment

Some people are born with a more resilient and optimistic disposition but some are not. It is important to understand that apart from it being genetic, resilience is also a choice. And a resilience habit has to be cultivated in order for us to stay calm and be inspired in order to deal with chronic stress and overwhelm. If we want to make more sense of the necessity and the benefits of resiliency, the wisdom of the likes of Maria in the field of positive psychology could greatly help us.

Born and raised a Kenyan, Carolyn Adagala is a transformational coach who found the UK a second home since her college days. Having spent the last four years in an all-girl school, she felt shocked as she found herself the only female student among twenty boys studying computing.

Although she still graduated on top of her class, that exposed her to the reality that in the tech world women had always been outnumbered by men. It has since become one of her desires to see more and more women thrive and succeed in the profession. And more so because six weeks after she landed her first job, she was fired unjustly. Her redemption happened when her manager on her second job expressed belief in her that she also began believing in herself.

Highlights:

  • Learning coaching became necessary for her when she was assigned to lead a team, which paved the way for more women in tech to come to her
  • Seeing many women getting stuck in the medium level on their way to getting promoted made her want to dedicate her life to helping women reach the leadership positions
  • Hard work is not enough; doing well in your job does not always guarantee recognition and promotion; getting visible is very important
  • Speaking up or simply just asking questions (in meetings) is the easiest way to become visible

Since women usually keep their heads down, they could also miss out on opportunities of being visible to other people -- especially people of influence. Hence, Carolyn encourages women to speak up or even just ask questions in order to become visible. Not to prove oneself all the time, but she wants women to be responsible for their growth in order to step up, learn, and take risks.

If somehow you are feeling stuck and cannot seem to move further in your job and cannot ascertain the how-to's or if you are struggling with not being recognized or listened to, her contents and her tribe may just be what you need to do otherwise. You may look up Carolyn Adagala on LinkedIn.

Emily Hatfield is a women's empowerment coach who has for 20 years been living with her husband and three children in Bristol, England. Her early career was in film and media where she experienced some of the great years as a single woman. After getting married, people thought that having a husband working for the Carribean, she too was living a dream life. But that is not the case. She too had struggled with the shift of social status and roles. Good thing, becoming a mom made the shift even more meaningful.

Even when she had the chance to get back to her old career, she realized that she had hugely changed and so did her passions and desire. That was when she shifted into coaching specifically empowering women. But with more and more men coming to her and slowly becoming more open to the idea of coaching, especially over the past year, she recently just decided to rebrand herself to a Mindset Coach. This opens doors not only to women but to all individuals feeling half-empty and directionless and unhappy -- to help them to find more confidence in who they are and what they really want.

Highlights:

  • Truth - being clear of our own values and identity; the stories we tell ourselves and the stories told us which can only be validated in the future
  • Coaching - should be forward-focused thinking; it is not what happened to us that makes us, it is more of our choice
  • Happiness - there is no specific formula other than accepting and celebrating one's own values, beliefs, and uniqueness
  • Quest for peace/identifying what's poking at your peace - coaching is one great way to start; choose and take time to invest in yourself to pause and notice
  • Far setting - identity what you are scared of or worried about; set them aloud, prevent it, prepare how to face it and respond to it, and finally find ways how to repair it

If you wish to do better at work, to identify what it is that you really want or if you want to find yourself again, it will be hard to do it on your own. You will need someone to guide you and to provide you with the company and support system. That is why coaches like Emily are there - to help you take the micro-steps and achieve micro-changes and form micro-habits which will impact your whole life. If you wish to connect with her, catch her on her own website emilyhatfield.org.uk, or on Instagram @emilyhatfieldcoaching.

Julie Easen is another corporate graduate mom who has had an extremely successful and satisfying 20 career years save the work-life balance aspect. Before leaving the corporate world, she fought hard in order to gain and keep the privilege of a once-a-week work-from-home arrangement. But even with that, it dawned on her that her children are growing with less and less time with her which made her feel like failing as a mom and the exact opposite of her high-profile success in the corporate. Her predicament culminated when she finally was offered her dream job, the place she practically had worked to reach in the last 20 years. The career she dreamed of and worked hard for had finally peaked and paid off, but since that was taking her further away from the precious time she wanted to spend with her kids, she turned it down. Hence was the colossal shift in her life.

Highlights:

  1. Career promotion -- made her realize she had already achieved everything she wanted to outside the home, but it scared her thinking how much further it will take her away from her kids -- her top priority
  2. Career break -- after 20 years of chasing the corporate ladder, she took a career break and spent time with her family; they even moved back to the UK
  3. Transition period - the break and the transition period allowed them to live out their principle of "family first" and led to their discovery that their eldest was on the autism spectrum
  4. Career refocused - instead of focusing on her career, her husband took on the role and became the major provider for the family
  5. Newfound passion -- the diagnosis of their son led to a lot of struggles with the education system, paved the way to their homeschooling, and gave her another way of helping people through homeschooling especially during the pandemic

After giving up a dream career in order to prioritize her children, she experienced being at a loss for six months. But with the support of her husband, she was able to pick up herself and be great in what she has chosen to do -- as a hands-on mom and teacher of her own children. Not only that she was able to adjust to the needs of her son, but she has also extended her newfound passion to help other families who consider homeschooling. With this passion, she also found another lucrative venture while being virtual with her kids 100% of the time. Without a doubt, she believes she is now where she really needs to be.

Kelley O'Keefe lives in Atlanta, Georgia. She has built a business over the past year catering and empowering women to reach their full potential in leadership, mainly to be economically empowered.

Kelley spent 15 years in the sales arena before she decided to stop to prioritize herself and her health. She then took a sabbatical and started researching the problem of such leakage of high-potential females hitting the second glass ceiling in their careers.

Highlights:

  • The five main buckets of challenges women are facing
  • Access
  • Overcoming Microaggressions in the Workplace
  • Wage gap
  • Flexibility
  • Recognition- feeling valued
  • Stepping up in other areas- Kelley's research confirms that as long as the women are seeing the men step up and take on some form of responsibility, then they are okay with still having the majority of the duties on them, and they are still happy.
  • Financial Freedom- being able to retire, getting it all figured out like a path.
  • Economic empowerment- making big girl money, controlling how you earn your money.
  • Access Discrimination- not necessarily putting ourselves in situations or being tapped for opportunities that allow us to make big girl money or have control and clarity into what will make us economically empowered.

Do you have clarity on how you get to your goals? Are you in the right spot? What help would you need? A five-year plan does not have to be immediate. But you have got to make one. And that's where Kelley's company helps; they will help you create that plan and help you recognize which avenue you need to take and how to build that plan, so you have tangible activities. You can find all of her information on https://www.linkedin.com/in/kelleyokeeffe/ and www.empoweredengagement.com.

Kathryn is a photographer based in Southwest London who had been depressed most of her life. Early in life, she already had suicidal tendencies and had to undergo medications to address them. Even after another bout of therapy which finally made her understand the root cause of it all, nothing just seemed to ever help her anxiety and self-hatred. She was fed up with being in perpetual need of help and admitting it to strangers over the phone time and again. That was a few years back when after a self-portrait shoot, she found a way to bridge photography to finding confidence, better self-care, mindfulness, and seeing her own potential. Now she uses innovative photography to help people especially women find safe spaces to self-reflect and see themselves in a better light.

Highlights:

  • Self-portrait shoot -- she looked at her images and realized she neither hated nor felt ashamed of the woman looking back at her; instead, she saw her pain and took better care of herself holistically
  • Photography works in a visual way -- as opposed to the image in the mirror, picture images are static and therefore do not change the facts; even when you turn away from them, they would tell you the same the next time you view them
  • It is not a permanent fix -- photography healing serves only as a starting point; self-care is a day-to-day job that contributes to the success of the healing process

Since women especially wives and moms usually do not find time to take pictures of themselves or do not feel like including themselves in photos, Kath encourages them to take more pictures of themselves. If not for their own, they should do it for the benefit of their loved ones.
Either in Face to Face or in Freedom Shoot, certain preparations are done in order to ensure that they feel safe, held and supported, and in control of the process. She also admits that this may not be for everybody. But if you are someone who had already tried almost all different means to address anxiety and depression, and nothing seemed to ever work, then visual healing is worth the try. As Kath says, "When we step into our greatest authentic selves, we don't have to be anything else... We are enough and we matter." Danielle Metzler is a certified primary care physician who grew up and got her degree in medicine from Maryland and went to South Carolina for residency. She is a mom of two small babies and a wife to a wonderful husband. A strong believer in a holistic approach to things but also a believer in Western Medicine, she believes in intuition. As planned she served as a hospitalist for five years to earn experience from and with physically ill people. For work-life balance, she switched to primary care which is what she had always been passionate about. B3ing in the medical profession, she has seen a lot of pain in the world. And that inspires her to use her blessings and energy to permeate positivity.

Highlights:

  • Gratitude -- being aware of her blessings is the secret to her positivity and she feels she is called to permeate it
  • Striking a balance -- she is both a believer in a holistic approach to things at the same time a strong believer in Western and science-based medicine
  • Vitamins/supplements -- nutrition should not be dependent on pills; it should begin in our diet (plant-based food, whole grains, fruits, and vegetables, protein)
  • Body positivity -- accepting who you are and what your body has done as well as working towards your best self
  • Perfection -- as a recovering perfectionist, she found freedom in the fact that perfection does not exist and is therefore not worth pursuing

As a work in progress herself, Dr. Metzler does not believe in quick-fix and diet overhauls. As much as it took years to put on extra weight, it might also take years to put it off. For her own well-being as well as for her family and patients, she advocates yoga, taking the necessary pills, body positivity, taking advantage of app exercises/workouts, ridding perfectionism, and also indulging every once in a while.

Kristy is a digital well-being researcher, speaker, author, and mom to three of her screen ages. She delivers evidence-based information about the impact of digital technologies on children, adolescents, and adults' health, well-being & learning.
Having personally experienced how our always-on digital culture compromises people’s well-being and is counter to optimal and sustainable performance, an award-winning researcher and speaker, Dr. Kristy Goodwin, is on a mission to promote employee well-being and bolster workplace productivity in an always-on digital world.

Highlights:

  • 3 Bs parents need to establish
  • Borders & Boundaries- Time is undoubtedly an important metric. Still, we also need to have boundaries around when our child uses a device.
  • Basic Needs- We must ensure that tech habits are not encroaching or displacing our basic needs; this applies to the kids and us adults.
  • Boredom- We have to disconnect digitally. Our kids need to know what it is like, not constantly to be tethered to screens. It is vital for their creativity and their sense of identity.
  • Three significant threats most adults are facing at the moment.
  • Digital Overload- is not just about using technology but also the when and how we are using the technology.
  • Working in incongruent ways- our digital habits have forced us to start working in tracks entirely misaligned with how our bodies and brains operate due to the constant barrage of information.
  • Always-on culture- we are plugged in and switched on 24/7, which again is detrimental and will not result in peak performance.
  • Multitasking is a myth- Numerous studies tell us that multitasking takes us 40% longer than had we monotask done each task in isolation, so we are working in really ineffective ways.
  • Chronotype- is your biological predisposition to be alert and focused at particular times of the day. It also dictates when you naturally want to fall asleep.
  • Micro steps to take to start to create deep, focused work
  • Disable non-essential notifications or create VIP notifications
  • Go to do not disturb mode
  • Switch your device to grayscale
  • The Forest App

Refrain from letting technology rob your two most important resources: time and attention. If we want our kids and teens to develop healthy digital habits, we must try to be good digital role models. If you want to learn more about digital well-being and Dr. Kristy, check her website, drkristygoodwin.com. She is also active on Instagram and LinkedIn and provides parents with information on Facebook.

Theresa hosts the Becoming More Me Podcast and lives in Maryland near Washington, DC, with her husband, their four boys, and their two yellow labs. She enjoys helping professional women to get out of their way with life and dial in on a work-life balance.

Theresa’s struggles with past traumas, high-functioning anxiety, and ADHD kept her in an ego-driven holding pattern of dissatisfaction and stress for longer than she likes to admit. Those negative feelings seemed to melt away when she began cracking the code to her nervous system, taking responsibility for her well-being, and elevating her consciousness in ways that genuinely restored her feelings of calm, clarity, and confidence.

Highlights:

  • Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), also known as Tapping- resolve anything you can feel. It is a program that people can take and learn how to use tapping for themselves in less time.
  • Nervous System regulation- a big part of nervous system regulation is calming the fight or flight response. So as you tap and do that, it soothes and lowers your stress hormones, which also helps to regulate your nervous system.
  • Band-Aid Application- with EFT tapping or nervous system regulation, you feel better over the anxiousness, and you will feel good in everything for the day. It will help you get through something and have you show up differently.
  • Onion has layers- an analogy that with EFT, it is like peeling back the layers. As you do that, it elevates your consciousness, and new things come up.
  • The Value of Increased Consciousness- The ability to feel that you are actually in the driver’s seat of your life and to be able to open possibilities and awareness of the bigger picture.

You can lower your stress hormones like cortisol by up to 43% in 10 minutes with tapping. To hear Theresa talk about it is one thing. Still, to do it and feel the shift and the change in your consciousness, or whatever the distress you are, is where the real game changer is. If you want to grab tapping sessions and learn more, you can check her websites below:

Melody Wilding is the author of the book Trust Yourself: Stop Overthinking and Channel Your Emotions for Success at Work. She has been an Executive Coach for ten years now whose specialty caters to highly sensitive and high-achieving individuals; a speaker, a teacher of human behavior at the graduate level, and a writer for a number of leading career websites.
Fascinated and extremely observant with the complexity of human behavior, even at a young age, she knew she would grow up to do something in psychology. True enough, she became a therapist at a certain online therapy company. But since that high achieving population, she catered to preferred professional guidance rather than therapy, she eventually shifted into coaching.

Highlights:

  • People pleasing tendencies - limit our trajectory because we want to get a consensus from the people around us instead of deciding on our own
  • Brag file - identify moments of strength where you have made yourself proud; building your muscle for doing well
  • Diversify your self-esteem - do not rely on your satisfaction from your professional performance
  • Sensitive striver - a high achiever who is highly sensitive; great leader who through great battles; about 20% of the entire population
  • Honor roll hangover - the endless cycle of perfectionism, people pleasing and over functioning

Are you more emotional than most people? Do you usually overthink? Do you need to think through decisions before you act? Do you have the ability to sense other people's feelings? Do you struggle with people pleasing, putting other people's needs before your own? Do you function and the people around you underperform? Do you struggle with burnout? Do you normally have unrealistically high standards? If your answers are yes to most of these questions, chances are you are a sensitive striver. Although it is in reality an advantage, this can cause one a lot of pressure, stress, and a whole lot of negative emotions. If you want to learn more and manage your own sensitivity, Melody's book could help you

Erica Rooney is a wife, a mom, a chief people officer, and a host of her own podcast From Now to Next, where she empowers women to get seen, get heard, and get promoted. With all these hats she's wearing, one gets the idea that she does a lot of things. Although she admits to being a hustler by nature, her secret to accomplishing more in life is eliminating the less important activities and focusing energy and time on the majors. At 24, she thought she found her dream job at Verizon but at 27, when she realized there was not enough room for growth, she applied for hundreds of jobs. Her passion to help people since her personal training days made her fit in different HR roles which also paved the way for her executive coaching.

Highlights:

  • Burnout - her life was a show for everybody; but her burnout got her into fights with her spouse; she was less present for her kids and was not her best self
  • Sticky floors (limiting beliefs) - most reasons why many people do not live to their most authentic selves include fear of judgment, perfectionism, and impostor syndrome, among others
  • Root cause of our people-pleasing default - social constructs ingrained in our culture because we have grown in a man's world
  • Three-step framework to recovery from perfectionism: name it, question it, shift it
  • Benefits of listening to her podcast - when women hear other successful others with their own struggles; they realize they are not alone

If you want to get seen, get heard, and get promoted, this Suite Whisperer may be the guide you need. If you too desire to know your worth and resolve not to accept anything less; or if you somehow struggle with impostor syndrome, the mommy wine culture, among others, Erica's podcast may help you.
She is big on self-care because it is always correlated with our happiness level. When our cup is filled, we can fill other people's cups. If her message resonates with you, catch her on her podcast From Now to Next as well as on LinkedIn where she is most active and responsive.

Hallie Avolio is a mom and a wife who is passionate about teaching both men and women to live their lives to the fullest by prioritizing self-love. She began her career in sales, but early on realized that corporate life with all its bureaucracy and red tape did not fit her well. But then at the same time, being a stay-at-home mom didn't either. Hence, putting herself into a predicament where her health and relationships suffered. That somehow led her to that dark path due to anger, frustration, and resentment. After having her third child, she put more pressure on herself that she got to figure everything out before she reaches 40. Soon she would realize she had to walk that path and experience such a rabbit hole in order to truly find the light which will also pave the way for her coaching career to help other people love a life limitless.

Highlights:

  • Health and wellness - so many industries related to nutrition dictate that we look a certain way, but this approach has become more destructive than helpful, especially among women who mostly feel they do not measure up resulting in negative self-talk
  • Self-love approach - when you understand who you are and what your purpose is, you optimize your health by fueling your body with the right and nutritious food
  • Self-awareness - two pivotal moments that served as catalysts to her massive shift: when her husband told her he was leaving their marriage and her breakdown in the dressing room
  • Self-compassion - reframe all your negative self-talk; acknowledge the greatness within you
  • Steps in making a sustainable shift: do not be afraid to ask for help; step into your feelings by stating your intentions at the start of the day

While many of us are consumed thinking about other people's expectations of us, Hallie suggests we should approach life empowered and authentically creative. This means we have to identify around 3-5 core values and live life accordingly. If you want to learn more about self-awareness, bounce back from fears and failures, as well as figure out how else you could grow and improve your relationships, Hallie has exercises for you. The most simple of which is, to give yourself a 5-minute treat a day.

  • Bodily response - a product of 3 elements: genetics (indigenous factor), environment (exogenous factor), and management (which coaching can improve)
  • Diary - everyone should keep a record and a schedule of his own performance and recovery; a recovery should be done before the set next performance
  • Recovery - the amount of sleep is highly correlated with one's creativity and productivity
  • Recovery space - depending on one's personality, recovery space may vary from sleep, nutrition, sipping coffee, or indulging in other recreational activities

Rachelle Houde is a strategist and storyteller who spent more than 20 years in communication and marketing. Following her departure from advertising agencies, she has been freelancing as a strategic consultant with a focus on community building. Growing up in a military family who relocated every three years, she had to learn and relearn how to adapt to a new culture every single time. Part of her personal growth was utilizing personal computers at home in order to connect with virtual communities around the world. She is currently writing a business book on leveraging the power of community management strategy in order to improve corporate culture in a hybrid world.

Highlights:

  • Community-Building is bringing people together who have common needs, desires, and interests
  • Freelancing - offered liberty in the projects she took on, but it lacked the intellectual conversation she needed
  • Online Platforms - of all the platforms she explored, there was none that matched her interests and values, hence she found the need to establish her own
  • Healthy communities - are built on certain sets of core values, and core values help each member learn better and get better; it is based on growth rather than scarcity; it helps members to thrive, not just survive
  • Toxic community - where retribution and scarcity thrive
  • Intellectual generosity - the more you share, the more you will receive; however, be careful of giving unsolicited advice

Being isolated is detrimental to our general well-being. But being part of a community (a tribe) provides us with food, shelter, defense, and security. Being around another human being creates interactions between the synapses of our brains.

If you would like to know more about the role of community and how you can participate in community building in the different aspects of life, as well as understand how it can improve the quality of your own life and that of your organization, Rachelle is a resource person to go to.

Laura is a mom and a co-founder of Yourticulture which is homestead based. Among all the hats she has to juggle, being a mom comes on top. Believing that the children are the future, she considers it best to model to them how she deals with life -- to learn how to overcome hardships and to be resilient. Instead of telling them, she prefers showing them her own picture of life. Being in an entrepreneurial partnership with her husband also makes both of them more sensitive to each other's needs and makes it easy to have each other's back at certain times.

Highlights:

  • Prioritization - a progressive daily milestone; doing better today than yesterday
  • Hyperfocus - after identifying your priority, it is important to be focused if you want to really accomplish something in life
  • Compartmentalize -- chunk the process into smaller steps and take it one at a time
  • Say "not yet" - for the less important things; avoid overburdened and unrealistic expectations
  • Mindset - is the only thing everyone can control; positive or negative thinking is apparently a choice

Going through life, Laura has the privilege of learning a lot of positivity and resilience from people, especially from her parents and her faith. If you somehow need to address your own limitations -- especially self-limitation and negative internal dialog, consider it a treat for yourself to start the year learning from someone who empowers everyone to think limitlessly.

Hanane's long story of pain and resilience started with her eye accident when she was nine. Her months of stay in the hospital and in the house waiting for better days made her realize that remaining strong and positive are the only choice she had left. They trained her mind to become positive no matter the circumstances. She also dealt with divorce. After spending eleven seemingly less meaningful years in the corporate world, she lost her job in the same week she lost her dad. That served as her aha moment. Instead of succumbing to the pitiful situation, she got up and did something about it. How she succeeded in battling her own circumstances made her dream to help other people as well. That's how she shifted from corporate to becoming a holistic life coach.

Highlights:

  • Life coaching - a type of coaching that tackles all aspects of the person's life in order to empower and help him/her succeed; it takes the notion that personal and professional struggles are always interconnected.
  • Steps to success: Know what you are passionate about; focus on what you can control; keep the right focus; choose the people you keep around you; take action.
  • Tips for the confused/unaware: Take time to pause and identify what you really want and love doing so you can redirect; it is hard to keep going without a proper direction.
  • TEA coaching principles:
  • Thought, Emotions, Action; one must keep himself in check for limiting beliefs, emotional blockages, and inaction.

Hanane believes that everything we need is within us. But we all have become too busy to understand even ourselves. We need to spend more time for introspection and reflection in order to find a better and more accurate perception of ourselves. Then we would learn what we really want, focus on what we can control, keep the right focus, choose positive people and act upon our passion.

Belinda Liu is a non-profit education leader, coach, entrepreneur, nature-inspired visionary and co-host of the Gratitude Blooming podcast. Her superpowers are shining a light on people’s strengths, bringing them out into the world, and creating life-changing tools and experiences for deep, catalytic growth.

She co-founded two purpose-driven businesses, Gratitude Blooming and Hestia Retreat Center, to create new paradigms for personal and group transformation using nature, art and self-inquiry.

Belinda Liu is a lover of gratitude, nature, and art and works to hold a space helping people come back home to themselves. She sees her career journey as a scavenger hunt where she had to do a lot of life experiments. Passionate about supporting children who are normally left at the mercy of their parent's decisions, she started out as a classroom for a couple of years. But realizing that it is the parents who actually need more support in order to better care for their children, she proceeded to study education policy.
It was a fulfilling journey for a decade that she took learning and aligning the education system from the administrators to the teachers to the families and to the students. After a decade, she took the rabbit hole where she was more focused on accelerating inner transformation in order to bring about large-scale outer transformation.

Highlights:

  • Her "Aha" moment: Regardless of her passion for teaching, she knew it was time to consider another path when her life went out of balance
  • Reset and Rebuild: She needed to change environments; applied for Full Bright and went to China
  • Personal Growth: She realized it is a significant need in the world; she tried to figure out how the entire process can be learned and shared with others
  • Life experiments/explorations: Of all the content resources she had been sharing online that people could use for personal growth challenges, gratitude turned out to yield more results in their lives.

She believes that gratefulness, when life is good, is one thing. But it is when you're struggling and handling grief and stresses that gratitude truly matters. She is a co-founder of Gratitude Blooming and Hestia Retreat Center in Manchester California. Pre-Covid, it is where she invited friends and family to enjoy having space to do group and self-retreat, connect with nature and heal. Recently, they made a setup allowing individuals to do self and intimate group retreats.

Christina Woods is an RTT Hypnotherapist, a Reiki Master, a coach, and the CEO and founder of Wise Woods Hypnotherapy and Coaching from San Diego California. With a thirty-year corporate career in the higher education space guiding and mentoring staff, students and their families, she had been in a position where coaching had been like a way of life but without labels and proper training. Those three decades apparently brought out the best and the worst in her. But it had also helped her develop the skills she needed in her newfound career, RTT coaching.

Highlights:

•Trauma – born to teenage parents who were also dealing with their own teenage issues; her survival skills started as early as age 5; no one else was in charge so she had to figure her way on her own
•“Not enough” syndrome – going through a divorce after 25 years, having a hustler mindset, becoming a supermom; still unhappy
•Hypnotherapy – a very natural state; going in and out of the brain waves; accessing the subconscious
•Familiar vs. Unfamiliar – the mind learns by repetition; hence, based on what came up in the first session, there is a custom-made audio for the client to listen to in order to replace the old, familiar beliefs and replace them with the unfamiliar new beliefs and habits
•Self-sabotage – negative self-talk; thoughts – feelings – actions; the repeat pattern in your life shows your thoughts are programmed a certain way, not because you believe it is correct but because it made you feel safe as a child
• Simple Steps -- change your self-talk; get curious, get help; evaluate your beliefs, notice the little things

Her brand of coaching makes people look inward knowing that the answers are inside them. They only need to take time to be quiet and listen to their intuition will peak. And hypnotherapy is the process that makes new unfamiliar but healthy suggestions in order to bring about transformation quicker than other traditional coaching brands. Hypnosis shows how our mind is always open to suggestions and responds even to thoughts. But we have to be open to the process if we want the real transformation to occur in our lives.

If you want to hear, take advantage of the materials she gives away for free or if you would like to have an hour with her, look her up on wisewoods.com.

  • Working in a male-dominated field, she learns to embrace diversity and use that difference as a superpower to bring a unique perspective as a woman. Disagreeing with kindness includes the tone of your voice, how you deliver words, waiting for your turn to speak as a show of respect, and using kind communication.
  • Top tip: You can’t get upset when they don’t read your mind for what you want; they cannot read minds so you’ve got to communicate what you want.
  • In moments where absolute tragedy and trauma strike, there are two options: to stand up and fight or accept the situation and live with it.
  • Selfish and self-care are both good- it is good to be selfish and take care of yourself.
  • You can take something horrendous and turn it into something big such as turning your mess into a message.

She is a strong believer in ‘Technology for Good’ and works to bring it to the forefront of all messaging. She is a long-time Telecom industry veteran. Before Dell Technologies, Jillian spent 14 years at Verizon. She joined Network Engineering during the launch of FTTP (FiOS), where she managed over a billion dollars in inventory in the Central Offices. While working, Jillian received a Technical MBA and upon completion, started a new role in Product Management where she managed a B2B SaaS. She went on to various tasks in Marketing Operations and Sales Enablement. She believes in turning her mess into her messages. She is an author, speaker, and believer in paying it forward and helping women in the industry find their voice and share their accomplishments.

Alex Tremble is a career culture coach whose passion is helping organizations create a culture necessary to attract, retain, and develop leaders to achieve their visions and missions. Apart from the efforts dedicated to promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion in the company, he strongly believes that the best way of providing value to people's lives is by helping them progress in their professional and personal lives. He enjoys working with companies whose vision and mission include moving leaders to the ranks towards senior leadership positions and thereby progressing and succeeding in life.

Highlights:

  • Experience -- his inclination into the field of coaching that he is practicing today came to him not in just one pivotal moment but in a long progression
  • Relationship Building Model: 1. Mindset Change (you cannot succeed alone; you succeed through alliances) 2. Internal Clarity (categorize what you want and what you have access to 3. External Clarity (where are those people; who are the right people 4. Behavior Choice (shaking people's hands; looking people in the eye; choosing the right words)
  • Mentorship from exceptional people is critical to having your mindset changed and getting your eyes opened to possibilities; hang out or just be around these people to attract success; ask them for advice
  • Negative Thoughts and Shame -- are mostly influenced by how we compare ourselves to others; while we only need to compare ourselves to past selves and how we performed previously
  • Setting goals -- things will definitely change and so will your goals; just keep moving

He authored the books Reaching Senior Leadership and The GPS Guide to Success to help people navigate the leadership ranks. To debunk the notion that opportunities and eventually success come through hard work, he started his own podcast, The Executive Appeal. It must be hitting significantly that it has transitioned to live events where organizations invite him to get CEOs and top leaders to discuss what it takes exactly to move to the ranks upwards. Here, he teaches people, he discusses executive presence including the way they groom and dress up as well as financial education.

If you want to gain more insights on how to succeed personally and professionally, find Alex on Tiktok, Youtube, LinkedIn, and his personal website AlexTremble.com.

Izzy Gessel, who had always wanted to become a stand-up comedian, started his career as a schoolteacher. But for years now, he has combined both in a career that widened his influence specifically as a well-rounded writer, keynote speaker, facilitator, and author among others. This choice resulted not only from searching for his life purpose but more from what he really wants to do, what he is good at, as well as what brings him an income and a quality life. A hugely self-made organizational alchemist, his quest involves creating something extraordinary from ordinary things and people. The most important tool he utilizes to achieve this lofty goal is Improv theater. He believes that one teaches what he needs to learn and that's what he has gained with Improv.

Highlights:

  • Organization - is a system of relationships; we can change organizational culture by changing individuals or by giving them insight into something about themselves they feel special about
  • Humor - as opposed to comedy which is a genre of drama, humor is actually a perspective of looking at life; both are used for one end -- laughter
  • Spontaneity - similar to mindfulness; being present at the moment and the opposite of planning for the future
  • Catastrophizing - is similar to negative self-talk; opposite of positive psychology, situations where one expects the worst possibility instead of the best one
  • Improv -- teaches people to rely on as well as support each other; and to move on quickly even after making mistakes hence resulting in psychological safety and authenticity

Being one of the 15% of NSA's members to have been designated a Certified Speaking Professional (CSP), in addition to his Improv-themed books, no wonder his clients include leading names and institutions in their respective industries.
If you are someone or if you belong to a group whose culture needs revamping in order for its members to thrive and become the best version of themselves, have yourself, enrolled in any Improv classes available online, or follow Izzy and the courses he offers. He is indifferent to platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, and his own website is izzyg.com.

14 years ago, somewhere along the 26 long years, she spent in the corporate world, Cressida got training in coaching. Around that time, coaching was only almost exclusively associated with sports and the academe. It was almost unheard of in the business world. But the philosophy of coaching where people are given the freedom to process and work things out for themselves is what originally attracted her to the discipline.
While she was very lucky and grateful for the huge success she enjoyed, and despite being the epitome of what most women would aspire to be, she had increments of realizations that made her consider there must be something better away from that life.

Highlights:

  • Her identity was based solely on who she was at work -- and yet the organization she dedicated all her time and soul was making decisions she did not agree with and was not reflecting her own values
  • Why the shift after 14 years? Because she would like to help more women the way she would want to be helped when she was in her 30s.
  • Who she caters to? People who suffer from impostor syndrome, lack of confidence, and seeking personal brand
  • Exercise for Personal Branding: first four steps are Inward looking (Your story, your passions, and purpose, your values, your skills); the remaining three are Outward looking (behavior, communication, imaging)
  • Benefits of having an established personal brand: Self-discovery, having a "set apart" identity; and being the primary voice that influences the narrative about you
  • Why do many of us struggle with confidence? Social norms of our formative years dictate our insecurities; we're paid and valued less

Her definition of success years ago was the classic: having a good career, and having money that enables you to make choices without giving it so much thought. But now, things have changed. Along with that change, she has now greater joy in helping people, especially women discover their real power and potential. Her firm works with teams and organizations but is predominantly caters to helping women because she understands how difficult it is to be a minority in the workplace. If you want to break free from impostor syndrome, lack confidence, and want to discover your own personal brand, Cressida may be the coach you need. In the eyes of the majority, Cory Carlson was making it huge and was already a winner in the corporate world before he discovered coaching. But when he did, he became a better person, husband, father, and leader. So to speak, he became a real winner from his own home first. Since then, it became his lifelong cause to make other people make it really big in life by following the same formula -- Win at Home First.

Highlights:

  • Outside perspective -- he couldn't go to his boss and his colleagues to admit his incompetence; he needed the outside perspective to be more open and honest
  • Simplicity -- with the availability of too much overwhelming information out there, the guidance of a coach makes every step clear and simple
  • Biggest Takeaways from coaching-- You're not alone; identify and call out your head trash (negative self-talk) and replace them with the truth; identify priorities in order to excel
  • Work-life balance -- Family first (set expectations and revisit how you executed); but make sure you deliver as expected at work
  • Win at Home First --
  • He strongly believes that at a certain point, home life will sneak up and affect all other aspects of the corporate job

Whether married or not, people have families or buddies in the house or friends in whose relationships they are most invested. In order to help someone live to the fullest, Cory helps his clients navigate life by advancing sense of purpose over performance and ultimately by winning at home first. Cathy Rowland is a Women's vitality coach with 29 years of interior design expertise.

Almost everybody all over the world would associate health and wellness with the proper diet, exercise, and sleep, among others. Equating it with the space and interior design of homes as well as offices is almost unheard of. Being a women's vitality coach, in addition to prioritizing self-care as well as self-awareness, space design is the special ingredient she offers her clients. Designing Space for Wellness is the course she created for this.

Highlights:

  • Self-care should be at top of our priorities because we can't fill an empty cup
  • Debunk Limiting beliefs such as metabolism gets slower as we grow older but that doesn't mean we cannot make better choices
  • Ketosis - through intermittent fasting, the body resets and burns fats instead of retaining it
  • First steps to wellness - cut out sugar and sugary drinks, and processed foods; increase sleeping hours; track your steps in 21 days
  • The most taken-for-granted aspect of wellness - making our home and office space our own oasis or haven
  • Less is more - declutter, get rid of, and discard the things you do not need or like and give them away to others who need them and might find joy in using them

Women's instincts make them natural nurturers. They plan out keeping up with everybody's needs and forget about themselves. With a long to-do list, they usually come in last or never at all. This and the vicious cycle of self-neglect among women is what Cathy stands up to stop. She emphasizes that wellness does not only come from what we consume but also from the environment that we see and the space we move about. Curious about how she does it, follow her on FB, Instagram, and LinkedIn where she is most active.

Brian Dorheim is a leader and coach who believes first of all that his way from the dark and into the light has been through his personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Growing up, he worked with various non-profits to make an impact in the local community. Even prior to his coaching years, he always desired to make connections and influence change within individuals and organizations. From physical to spiritual, emotional, and psychological, he desires to help individuals and teams become the best version of themselves.

Highlights:

  • What does it entail to be a culture coach? It is about seeing potential, understanding the layers of culture in an organization, and helping each individual own the role they play
  • Is there such a thing as an ideal culture? No, but the foundation of every healthy culture is psychological safety
  • How to achieve psychological safety? Being able to be your authentic self, having the liberty to discuss even the most uncomfortable topics, including personal losses, pains, and other traumatic experiences
  • Benefits of openly communicating about our pain? Healing; simply having listening ears for our deepest pains has a restorative effect
  • Advice for those who are on the receiving end? Take time to listen and do not attempt to change topics when people try to open up regarding their deepest pains and losses

A rainbow baby is a child born after parents experience a pregnancy or infant loss. While most of us celebrate the rainbow, we haven't seemed to normalize talking about the storm and thereby not allowing their memories to live on and be entwined with our own. This is one of the advocacies that Brian emphasizes. If pain or loss is part of your story, you owe it to yourself to openly discuss it, especially with the ones who matter most to you. Your trauma, though devastating, can be your advantage to help others who might go through similar experiences. If you wish to learn more from him or want someone to listen to the things you have long buried, you might find a listening ear in him on LinkedIn or at dorheim.com.

Kimberly Cabot is a mom of two young adults who has been into coaching since 2012. With her previous work as an organic farmer who had done it all up to the administration level, she had built skills that also helped her land a job with Handel as a Director for Operations. It was her five years of intensive training with the Handel Method that changed her own life, and for five years now, she has been using such expertise to help individuals and organizations not settle with what they have but to dream big and to believe they can achieve it not simply by going with the flow but by becoming the author of their own lives. Hence, leaving the backseat and taking the driver's seat.

Highlights:

  • What is the Method -- to dream; identifying what you want to feel, who you really want to be, and how you want to show up
  • Why do adults seem to stop dreaming? Because we want to get real and somehow we think dreams only distract and remove us from reality
  • How can we start dreaming again: Deal with the past experiences that created our chronic negative self-talk; and clean up by repairing broken relationships including relationships with self
  • What is the first step: Determine to put your promises (to self and to others) in place; work for your dream(s); use structure if necessary
  • What are the benefits? Freedom from people-pleasing; forging authentic connections through vulnerability; and, ultimate happiness by living your best and your greatest

While every mom seems to be wired to do a classic move of taking care of everyone, Kimberly resonates that we could only be in our best shape to take care of everybody else by actively doing self-care first. With her as a coach, you can be certain that somebody else alongside you believes in you and will fight for your dreams, not to mention the positivity she permeates through her distinct good laugh. In a world where there had always seemed to be a dichotomy between the extremes of becoming a success in your career or having lots of time and energy for family, Jessica DeGroot, over 20 years ago had already discovered a "third Path" -- the road to becoming successful in both. This is exactly what her national nonprofit, ThirdPath Institute, is about -- helping people become more integrated. That means pursuing a big career without compromising the things that matter more to you, especially family. For many working parents, it was the pandemic that has brought them into deep introspection of how their whole life has been eaten up by their jobs, and how a pandemic blessing has been to finally learn how to slow down and make more time for the things they value most in life. For Jessica, it has always been about learning how to blend the success of her father's career in medicine as well as the success of her mother in home-making and child-rearing. The trick to getting there was finding a partner who shared the same set of core values. ThirdPath Institute is the embodiment of these values. It has also expanded to a community of parents and leaders who want to support other working parents to follow in their footsteps.

Highlights:

  • The pattern: Her college research showed having the right "mental mindset" at the start of your career and having a partner who shares the same mindset guarantees success
  • The benefits: flexibility (being able to identify time for work and time for family); and capacity management (being empowered to say how much one can handle and to say "no" when necessary)
  • The steps: Being intentional about priorities and preferred schedules, as well as being transparent about how capacity is (elicited from the work-life score capacity test)
  • The challenge: It is complicated and it can be very unnerving, but being transparent about one's own capacity through the work-life score is needed so help would be possible
  • The key to its success: Modeling transparency and honesty is the best way for leaders and managers to ensure workability in this unfamiliar territory

For ThirdPath Institute, being "integrated" means having time and energy for all the essential things in life. Instead of always prioritizing more money or more things, integrated professionals also value more time. Having deeply thought of it about 15 years ahead, leaders in the ThirdPath community were more ready for the pandemic. Unlike most companies, their teams did not disproportionately lose women at the height of skeletal work schedules. This is on top of sparing their employees from chronic overwork and third-degree burnout. Too often, those who work the longest get monetary rewards and a badge of honor. The ThirdPath community is changing this. Though new to many, this set of advocacies has been Jessica's rally for over 20 years. If this resonates with you, give her and ThirdPath Institute a follow on all socials and learn more about how you can be truly successful in life without sacrificing your health and relationships. Take advantage of their free materials too by looking up Free ThirdPath Resources.

Jim Young had thrived through 25 years of what most would consider a colossal corporate success and yet he would later realize that was not the most valuable job or position for him. Being a great Dad to his three children is what he personally valued the most. And when the company showed no willingness to make the adjustments he desired, he decided it was time to go. Hence, a day before July 4th four years ago, he took a decisive and symbolic exit from the corporate world. Since then, he ventured out into coaching, especially men. But it was the pandemic stress and burnout bandwagon which made him realize that what he's been doing all along is actually burnout coaching.

Highlights:

  • Burnout symptoms/manifestations: unhealthy daily habits, recurring physical pains, and even stress-related heart attack
  • Antidote of burnout: Intimacy (being authentically vulnerable and making valuable connections by asking for help and allowing oneself to be discovered)
  • The gap between burnout and intimacy: Shame; being embarrassed by admitting fears and limitations
  • The micro steps to achieving intimacy: identify your own core values; eliminate burnout sources; speak out (instead of silencing) your own shame; take time to laugh

Through his personal experience, backed up by research, Jim found out that being in a leadership position and being a man means twice the taboo to be vulnerable, to be honest about one's own fears, and hence result in burnout. And since men are supposed to be know-it-all and can-do-it-all rather than emotional and vulnerable, Jim is here to say that it is okay to be or to feel otherwise. He works with individuals, leaders, teams, and organizations to help more men get out of the shadows and speak out. He elaborates more on this through his book, Expansive Intimacy: How "Tough Guys" Defeat Burnout. You can learn more about him and his causes at www.centeredcoach.com

Susan Salter started her 30-year corporate career working with big banks. It was when she became a senior director handling a lot of people that she realized her passion for helping people perform and show up better in their careers. She had always been the manager who was the voice of reason for her subordinates. No matter her colossal success, she reached the point where her job no longer excited her. She also believed she could do more and could speak independently on her personal advocacy of empowering more corporate women outside that regular job. As a career woman who has seen all the possible workplace scenarios, she has a wide range of knowledge and experience for her coaching venture. And since women at times would also need a wardrobe to revamp, she incorporated styling with her coaching services -- a combination that makes her offering especially distinctly for women. That's basically how she operates on ElevateHer.

Highlights:

  • On Inside work - women should change their mindsets by ridding of the negative self-talk, thoughts, and feelings that sabotage their own lives
  • On Outside work: women should equally take care of their grooming and styling as people tend to make perception of them first by how they look
  • On Credibility vs. fashion appropriateness: women should not be guilty or apologetic for their feminine attributes and fashion style; being confident of their looks help them deliver better than when they are constrained
  • On dealing with impostor syndrome: observe quiet time early in the morning; write down your daily thoughts; give yourself a pep talk; place your mind on a positive side; high-five yourself in a mirror; and give yourself a pause for transition with every shift of activity

In a male-dominated corporate world, through ElevateHer as well as Life, Styled by Susan, Susan educates and provides women with the support that they need. She encourages l women to embrace and utilize their female energy and to never lose their feminine attributes even when they have to wear black and navy suits. More specifically, she advocates that they wear the dresses, the red lipstick, the heels, the makeup, and the styling they love if they want to give themselves a boost and appear in their best shape for corporate work. In helping women in leadership positions, she emphasizes that instead of trying to muster some sort of masculinity, women should bank on their feminine energy and foster their own brand of leadership.
For your own dose of femininity boost, Susan is available on all socials. Her website is Lifestyledbysusan.com.

Julie Hyde is from Melbourne, Australia; an entrepreneur, a huge animal lover, and a wife to an amazing husband. She is driven to making difference and has been empowering people for 14 years now after becoming a corporate dropout from à company she worked with for 21 long years. Working in the banking industry for over two decades, she succeeded in climbing up the ladder every couple of years. The higher she climbed, the clearer her values had become -- role-modeling and doing what she says she’s going to do. Deeming that her own values and that of the organization were moving in different directions, she saw herself standing at the fork in the road. Instead of staying and hoping things would get better, she decided it was time to take destiny into her own hands although admittedly, she had no specific idea how to do it at that time.
14 years later, she has become an influential leader of herself with a superpower of simplifying leadership. She is especially empowering women to rewrite history through leadership.

Highlights:

  • First step to unshackling: If you are not happy, you have the power to change your situation and create options for yourself
  • Groundwork: walk into your own passion, stock up on who you really are and what you are good at, and make yourself marketable in the right spaces
  • The transition: Crossing the line from corporate to consultancy/entrepreneurship is challenging but extremely liberating as it offers more flexibility and adaptability in many respects
  • Busy vs. Productivity: Busy doesn't mean anything more than doing a lot; productivity results from doing the right things

More specifically, she advises everyone to really take time to think about what they are doing in order to find clarity on what and when they should be doing things. Then you will be enabled to determine which things you need to stop doing, what to say yes and what to say no to. Only then will you feel truly fulfilled. Moreover, she resonates that doing more is not better. Should you want to learn more about her game-changing passion and superpowers, check her out on the following platforms:

Danielle Pickens is a mom of three, an avid Pelotoner, and a coach and consultant for individuals and organizations who want to use their time and talents more effectively. She is the Founder and CEO of The Working Parent's Guide, through which she helps working parents navigate and balance life and work. Before becoming a mom, she followed a conventional career path, asking few questions. But after the birth of her first child, she realized she wanted to do things differently. She’s part of a growing number of working parents recognizing that doing more doesn't always mean we’re doing better. On the contrary, she embraces a mantra of doing less and cutting down on the activities that eat up time but bring little joy.

Highlights:

  • She pioneered a part-time schedule (3-day work) at a government job and had proven herself to be more effective and productive compared to the conventional (5-day) work norm.
  • Despite her exemplary efficiency, she remained underpaid and undervalued. When she was told she wouldn’t get promoted unless she worked full time again, she decided to change paths.
  • To take a hard right into something new, she encourages working parents to expand their network and make connections with people from different and independent spaces and learn from them; small, imperfect steps in the direction you want to go can make a big difference.
  • Do not fear taking those first and little imperfect steps; what some consider a failure is simply data for learning.
  • Work-life balance is not a one-time event; it needs constant re-evaluation and readjustments.

The pandemic has given many of us the opportunity to show up and perform even better while working remotely. The work-from-home mode has allowed working parents to keep their jobs and to be more present for their families. If anything, it has incidentally filled many relationship gaps that the pre-Covid era failed to do.

Called the "Adults' Guidance Counselor" by her friends, Danielle's experiences and expertise might be the help that you need in order to take your life, parenting, and relationships to the next level.
Most interestingly, she empowers working parents to achieve that by focusing on what matters most – and putting their own needs at the top of their to-do lists.

Starting a career in magazine journalism, Elizabeth Grace Saunders later switched to freelancing and enjoyed huge entrepreneurial success while working for great clients. However, amidst her success, she admittedly failed at balancing her life and work. Learning from her own work-life balance struggle paved the way for her advancement of advocacy among highly successful but extremely stressed fellows. In her line of coaching, she specifically works with overwhelmed and frustrated people who are working crazy hours and never stopping. She helps them figure out how to manage everything on their plate. Being a Christian, one division of her company focuses on a God-centered approach to time management.

Highlights:

  • Realizing how insane and unhealthy her work patterns had been, she finally made a decision after two years that it was time to change.

  • Some practical steps she took include setting her own start and stop time for work; recording her own time; saying "no" to unplanned invites; giving herself the license to slow down and take time for projects that can wait; and ultimately, stop for rest.

  • Schedule Makeover Life Transformation Program - a three- or six-month program that helps individuals assess how they spend their time to decide what fits them and what does not.

  • Understanding the relationship between commitment and time - honestly assess how much time each activity really takes, and identify time wasters.

  • Feeling good on the inside out - you need to set realistic expectations; you need to take care of yourself; and you need to stay in alignment with what's right for you right now.

If amidst success, you somehow find yourself overwhelmed, exhausted, frustrated, and feeling guilty over taking time for rest, Elizabeth might be the coach for you. Among others benefits, many of her clients have enjoyed improved marriage and family life as well as improvements to their health. To learn more from her, go to www.RealLifeE.com and take advantage of her three books entitled "The 3 Secrets to Effective Time Investment: How to Achieve More Success with Less Stress"; "How to Invest Your Time Like Money"; and, "Divine Time Management".

Ekta Capoor had untimely lost her father. But while that could have been a devastatingly traumatic childhood experience to cripple her early in life, it did not. That first-hand experience of pain only made her a resilient, strong, and decisive person. Even as young as five, she was able to go to the school of her own choice by incessantly throwing tantrums when forced to attend a different school. At a young age, she already knew she wanted to become an entrepreneur when she is grown up. However, apart from achieving such personal and professional success, she also came to discover what were rather age-old principles and best practices that make workplaces amazing for everyone.

Highlights:

  • Decision-making skill is one of the keys to personal and professional growth and development
  • Organizations and companies should operate in such a way that their employees are empowered to decide and allowed to commit mistakes
  • Pillars to Amazing Workplaces include Hiring and Retention, Culture, Internal Communication, and Inclusion, among others
  • Culture is one of the most important pillars and one which could not be written but is rather felt and experienced not only by employers and employees but also by the customers
  • Old companies no matter how established they are should consider learning new ways and strategies from considerably younger leaders in order to fit in and cater to different generations of workers

Ekta has so wisely combined her academic attainments in Commerce, Graphic Arts, Advertising, Digital Marketing, and Coaching Program in Business Management with her other skills and passion and co-founded the Amazing Workplaces. If you are a company or an organizational leader trying to foster an inclusive culture among many others, you may follow her on different social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Or you may simply just look up Amazing Workplaces that serve as your encyclopedia to the best practices every organization needs to learn in order to stand the test of time.

Jody is a woman passionate about learning and development. Looking back, she was a perfectionist who was always active and unstoppable and she did not take time even to celebrate success.

While her cancer diagnosis brought many unfortunate turns and twists that Jody never expected, it flashed before her eyes how she was busy doing life but was not actually living it. Thanks to cancer, she has since lived a life with a whole new purpose and perspective. She has come to realize what she values the most -- relationships

Highlights:

  • Journey to Jody began with her cancer diagnosis -- lost multiple jobs, the marriage failed, set children for college -- and it is still on
  • Slowing down and leading a mindful and intentional life helps you learn a lot of things
  • Perfectionism sets you up for a sure failure and therefore the worst way to approach life
  • No one else will be you and do you; do not attempt to pattern your life after other people's validation
  • Life is about moments; pause for those moments because they will soon become memories
  • It is ok not to know and control the future; not knowing it all should be part of the journey to enjoy

Jody has a bachelor's degree in Sociology from Hamilton College, a Masters in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University, and a Leadership and Coaching Certificate from the University of Rochester. Jody joined CooperVision in November 2021 as an Organizational Development Business Partner. She is a huge believer that the differentiator and the DNA of any company or organization are its people. You may follow and connect with her on LinkedIn to understand how her journey to finding her own identity has been bringing out the best in her as well as how her concepts of grit and resilience can encourage you to move forward.

Daryl Woodhouse is a self-made well-being and work productivity expert who has done everything the age-old belief has taught him how to succeed -- work hard. Due to the bullying, he experienced as a child, he always wanted to escape from the children's world and dreamed of entering the world of working adults to prove himself long before he was 18. True enough, he succeeded at an extraordinary rate that he enjoyed huge patronage as a leadership and management mentor and as a keynote speaker among many influential platforms. But burnout took its toll on him which made him realize that even the most successful of people can be so vulnerable. He has been using this personal experience since to help more individuals and organizations achieve greater goals and productivity by equipping themselves and their people with the knowhow and environment to live happier and work smarter.

Highlights:

  • Success for most people is achieved by working hard and long periods of hours at the expense of sleep and life itself
  • Burnout happens to 77% of people at a certain point but more in men; it can manifest in insomnia, anxiety, depression, and social withdrawal
  • Opening up to supportive friends and family members is always our first line of defense, and talking about the most uncomfortable topics with the therapist may be the most helpful
  • Remapping life is necessary for recovery
  • Punctual execution, a delegation of duties, and a five-minute fun break are keys to avoiding work-related stress

His resounding Life-Work balance now serves as some sort of protest to the work-life balance so many have long advocated for. This is a precise and highly practicable reminder that we have been given life first before we were made to work. Ideally, we have to prioritize life, map it out, and work in such a way that allows us to live the kind of life that we want. Putting work on top of everything else might rob us of the very joys of life we are working so hard to attain. Hence, work smarter not harder. If this message resonates with your own life realizations, you can follow Daryl on most social media platforms such as Facebook and LinkedIn.

  • Abundance mindset -- stepping out of a scarcity mode or a deficit mindset makes one creative and excited about possibilities
  • Coaching specialty -- the ability to make people seen and heard; contagious positivity
  • Spiritual journey -- it is very similar to our personal journey which emphasizes our search for connection with the universe; a larger sense of purpose and meaning in the world
  • Breaking the binary -- the kind of women we should be does not have to fall any of the two; we are in this wide spectrum of colors and kinds

Rob Stephenson is the CEO of FormScore, a keynote speaker, and founder of InsideOut LeaderBoard who has embarked on the mission of smashing the stigma of mental health and inspiring the creation of mentally healthy workplaces and society. Being bipolar he has found a road to managing his own mental health through the encouragement of a friend and another mental health campaigner, it has become his personal advocacy to raise awareness on the theme from a personal to a societal level. He offers highly practical steps for individuals struggling with mental disorders and viable means for companies to practice to help build and keep the well-being of their workers.

Highlights:

  • Lesson from the pandemic -- we will all struggle over mental health issues at certain points
  • Managed not Recovered -- mental illness comes and goes, and it is liberating to realize that management, not recovery, is what one needs in order to thrive
  • FormScore -- using the technology, this requires one to score his own mood/emotions on a scale of 1-10, thereby showing him and his colleagues the pattern indicating his wellness in realtime
  • InsideOut LeaderBoard -- leaders whose names are included in the list serve as role models impacting and empowering others to be more open about their mental struggles
  • Safety and empowerment -- it is time everyone should feel safe despite having a mental illness and be empowered not only to talk about it but more importantly, to prioritize their wellbeing even in the workplace

According to Rob, "right time" is a major consideration before one's name gets published in the LeaderBoard. And the app is handy and extremely helpful for people in companies and organizations. But if you wake up one day feeling not your best self, and could not get up for no apparent reason, tell someone you love in order to get connected. Prioritize sleep and self-care. But for worse and more critical cases such as bipolarity and worse depression, professional help and medication must be sought. To get more simple and highly practicable, profound, and on-point explanations on mental health, look for Rob by simply googling InsideOut LeaderBoard to get to his platforms.

A qualified accountant, Jacqui spent her early career in Finance before she moved to HSBC in London and managed business change Programmes on a global scale. With her focus and determination, she climbed many rungs of the corporate ladder and by societal standards, enjoyed enormous success and perks others could only dream of. However, the challenges became more and more unbearable especially when she found herself battling with so many powerful voices that she could not seem to find her own. This caused her stress, and migraines and made her altogether miserable in the job she used to be excited about. She was overworked and drained by self-doubt and a negative mindset until she could stand it no longer.

Highlights:

  • On vulnerability -- while it is normally difficult for successful people to admit they need help, she did; she requested a coach but was turned down
  • In dealing with fear -- to let go of the fear of failure, flip your thought from "What if things go wrong" into "What if it is the best thing you could ever do"
  • On paying it forward -- realizing the powerful impact of coaching in her own life, she embarked on a journey to train as a Performance Coach and got certified in 2020
  • On the benefits of being her own boss – she’s now in the driving seat and enjoys the freedom and flexibility of doing things her way and being driven by her purpose every day.
  • On alignment -- when you get the things, relationships, and opportunities that you value the most, that’s when you realize what true success is.

As an action-focused Career, Life and Financial coach predominantly focused on women in Financial Services, Jacqui empowers professional women to feel confident, calm and in control so that they can “live life bold” and make important choices and take bold decisions in order to ultimately create the life they want for themselves. With her 12-week bootcamp program, she begins by using personality profiling as one tool to help her clients to understand who they are, their own preferences and strengths as well as potential areas of challenge which may be limiting them from moving forwards. She then helps clients to understand what they want and the options available to them as well as looking at mindset and emotional resilience to shift from negative self talk to an empowered mindset. If you are a professional female working in Financial Services and are feeling stuck somewhere, or if you need to find guidance on the decisions you need to make in order to make a difference, join Jacqui’s free Facebook Group “Live Life Bold”: https://www.facebook.com/groups/livelifebold.

Beth Blecker was the first one from her entire family to have ever gone to college in an era where females (usually) went to school to become a teacher. But since there was no teaching job after graduation, she took accounting courses and along with her now ex-husband a CPA, ran and worked in his accounting firm where she stayed for 20 years. While providing accounting services, she realized that many times people do not have a clear financial picture for the future.

In an effort to do more, she increased her knowledge in financial planning and began offering financial plans to their clients. Yet still more than 50% of them, after actually paying for a financial plan, just procrastinated and did nothing. Many who did something, actually in the plan, tended to buy a product or insurance policy they didn’t truly need. That's when she, along with Alan Blecker, decided it was time to transition to full financial planning practice and Eastern Planning was born.

Highlights:

  • Why people procrastinate:
  • Indecision; people normally do not proactively look for it; unless they are offered, followed up, and guided in the process
  • What is Financial planning: Estate planning, college planning, wedding planning, and retirement planning
  • *Life Planning vs Financial planning:
  • The goal is balance -- saving for the future while living one's life before retirement
  • What is the first step?
  • Get rid of credit card debts and get find a plan (plan-at-work) that suits you and your family best
  • What is the goal?
  • That you have at least 5% of your income and also put up for inflation; and allow you to keep the level of life you now have at retirement

As co-founder and now CEO of Eastern Planning, she aims to financially educate her clients -- individuals and organizations alike, thereby observing a balance of saving and living life before retirement, as well as teaching them how to spend the money they have saved upon retirement. Recently, she published her book, It's Not Just Money, It's Life. If you want to learn more about financial planning, investment, and its distribution strategies, or to understand the jargon in the field, you may want to take advantage of the book and her website at easternplanning.com as well as on LinkedIn, where she generously shares all of these.

Hayley Lewis is an organizational psychologist from the UK with 22 years of experience specializing in leadership and management behavior and how it affects the culture and performance of teams and organizations. She started as a pure psychologist for children before she moved to the local government where she worked for eleven years. As a work psychologist, she had taken on different roles and had learned a vast range of operational and strategic roles. As she took on bigger roles, she went farther and farther away from being an organizational psychologist and became increasingly frustrated. Those situations had her talk about her desire of setting up her own business which she had put off a number of times. But things happened and in the summer of 2016, HALO Psychology started.

Episode Highlights:

  • Her catalytic moment: her father died at a fairly young age, her mother got diagnosed with stage 3 cancer, and she was in a natural introspection at 42.
  • Her confidence: She had saved money and banked on a wide range of knowledge and skills from almost 20 years of work.
  • Her research shows that apart from fear, other barriers that keep people from taking the leap include culture, expectations, pressure, and putting others before oneself.
  • Her realization: Transition from the corporate to running one's own business is a journey -- a process of learning and unlearning.
  • Her newfound skill: Making powerful sketch notes, some of which had gone even viral.

Hayley truly speaks for many women especially those who feel like they are in the wrong shoes, that they could do something new. One important message she conveys is that when a woman finally becomes a business owner, she has to look out for herself as she is her most important commodity. Another is raising awareness of the additional pressures that women experience in the workplace.

Will Schneider is a mindfulness, meditation, and yoga practitioner and instructor. While he strongly cherishes family affinities, he had always been consciously uncomfortable living according to the "script". Questioning the apparent injustice in the corporate world and having his heart broken early were the things that finally made him get rid of the "script" and live according to his own design. Instead of negatively coping with the heartbreak, he gathered himself through the inspiration he got from the book The Artist Way. Since then, he took life by the horn and lived according to his own choosing and creativity. In this go-go-go and busy world we find ourselves in, he advocates that in order for one to be effective at doing something, he should first learn how to be effective at doing nothing. Being on the mindfulness journey since 2001, he defines the word simply as another word for awareness.

Highlights:

  • Journaling daily throughout the twelve-week journey served as his baby steps.
  • Finding his brand new self, he found his way to acting and finally doing something that none among his family or close affinities ever was into.
  • In his desire to perpetuate the benefits of mindfulness in other people's lives, this journey led him to teach -- the part of the family script he out rightly avoided before.
  • One great part of which was the transformation and mental liberation that the retired Navy SEAL Commander, Jon Macaskill, has experienced through mindfulness.

Teaming up with him, he started Men Talking Mindfulness in 2020 to reach out to all people regardless of gender. It is undeniable however that its focus is largely on men. Apparently, there is a need to break the myth that meditation and mindfulness are only for women. As a result, they get to tackle confined masculinity and pave the way to liberated masculinity.

To get more about him, his advocacies, and his classes, check him out on his own website: willnotfear.com and MentalkingMindfulness.com.

While she used to work in the corporate world, Allison as a child was already very entrepreneurial that she was always excited at the sight of different stores and the idea of running her own business. So the day she got laid off, she thought that her circumstances finally made the decision for her. At about the same time, she also started paying attention to her own feelings and stopped putting herself last. She got the help of two coaches to make sure her next job and choices would be the best for herself. One helped her in a more personal way, by helping her make choices based on her core values. The other helped her with her business choices. This was the coach who taught her to order her priorities in this manner: self, family, business. That's basically what set her up to succeed.

Highlights:

  • After 20 long years, she spoke with her ex-husband about her bi-curious feelings
  • The first couple of steps she took to becoming her real self was getting her pixie hair cut and buying her first-ever cat-eye glasses; two things she used to think she would look terrible with
  • The affirmations she got when she braved herself into finally revealing her true color boosted her confidence
  • Reaching out to individuals who go through similar struggles and joining such communities as Late Bloomer Lesbians helped her find her own identity
  • The idea of nesting made her realize they do not have to go through the divorce as difficult as it looked

They are still largely in the adjustment stage especially the kids, getting through the divorce process and custody arrangements, but they continue being a family. By coming out, she has become happier, more fulfilled, and a 100% better mom than she ever was years earlier. Even her transition from the corporate to the entrepreneurial world was made easier by this confident base. It took her 37 years to figure things out, but when she finally took the first step by entering into the most difficult conversations, she felt liberated. By simply being her real self, she became more courageous and confident in starting her consultancy business through she is building her own reputation now. The World Health Organization recognizes job burnout, but there is also caregiver burnout, emotional burnout, and parental burnout, all of which lead to #nervousexhaustion. While self-care can help you manage your stress, it does not address the structural inequalities that contribute to burnout. To avoid burnout, we must employ behavior change science to effect individual, organizational, and cultural change.

Dr. Jacqueline Kerr is a mom, behavior scientist, and burnout survivor. She is in the top 1% of most-cited scientists worldwide. Dr. Kerr left her position as a public health professor in 2018 and now hosts the podcast 'Overcoming Working Mom Burnout' where she interviews researchers, diversity experts, and leadership coaches. She is on a mission to dismantle the causes of working mom burnout and find solutions that we can all use to change the social norms around burnout.

Show Highlights:

  • How burnout usually starts - a mixed feeling of inadequacy, struggling with parenthood, mid-life crisis, and breakdown. Burnout starts when we are taking way too much than we can handle.
  • The mission of helping moms overcome burnout. As a burnout survivor who understood how things can go spiraling down, it has become Dr. Jacqueline’s goal to help other working moms acknowledge burnout before it even starts.
  • The trigger to find more despite being happy with our current achievements. Understanding the feeling of never enough is essential in understanding why it can become a source of burnout.
  • Looking after our mental health - overwork sometimes causes us to ignore the fact that we need to take care of our mental health. Understand how physical activities help boost our mental health.
  • “Am I in danger now?” - learn when to acknowledge you are on a brink of burnout to prevent it and understand the importance of saying “no”.
  • Unlearning the behaviors and negative self-talk. Acknowledging that none of these is a walk in the park and why it is a salient part of the process of recognizing burnout before it even starts.

Tracing her roots from sales, Diane has had sold just about all sorts of things - from computers to mortgages to real estate - you name it, she has sold almost everything. Banking on that background and combining it with her passion for continuing education, she had experience and expertise that gave her a lot of things to talk about in almost all areas she worked in. After teaching, she decided to go to speaking and consulting and the like. Then she started a radio show, through which she gained her own following and influence and eventually interviewed highly successful people. Those interviews made her wonder what was similar among those people. That gave birth to her book, Cracking the Curiosity Code.

Highlights:

  • Curiosity defined; its linkage to performance and productivity established
  • Learning from the bourgeoise: fostering a curious culture by emulating and rewarding it (it should begin from the top-down)
  • What inhibits individuals from working on their curiosity: Fear, Assumptions, Technology, and, Environment (FATE)
  • Understanding perception and curiosity as a way to build empathy and the interplay of EQ-IQ-CQ
  • How to grow curiosity: Take the assessment, proceed with the assumptions, and then make an action plan
  • Relationship between Curiosity and Creativity
  • Comparing Perception from one's own vantage point and perception of others in relation to reality

Founder and CEO of Tonerra, a nationally syndicated radio host, keynote speaker, and a former MBA Program Chair at the Forbes School for Business, and author of multiple books studied in universities around the world, Dr. Diane Hamilton has been widely recognized as at par with highly esteemed thinkers, leaders and influencers alongside Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos, among others. Her concepts of curiosity and perception based on research may just be another lesson you need to perform better, become the best version of yourself, and make this world a better place. John Spence was born in Miami, Florida, where his Dad was a famous attorney, who made it to the covers of reputable magazines and had one wing of the law school at the University of Miami named after him. John went to a top grade school, got great grades, and was accepted to many different colleges. But for some reason, he messed up in college and got kicked out of the university of his choice, the University of Miami, where his father was one of the top alumni and was one of the board of directors of the university at that time. Turning in his records to another university, he was literally laughed at and turned down. But instead of throwing his future away, he chose to gather his composure and resolved to fix himself from that point forward.

Highlights:

  • His double-edged realization: He had to rebuild himself all by himself, which also meant he had to get every single help from all different sources possible -- people, books, videos, and the likes.
  • His own definition of success: When your core values and self-concept are in harmony with your daily actions and behaviors.
  • How his self-drawn discipline turned his life around, transformed him from a college failure to graduating #3 in the US, and becoming a CEO at 26 real quick.
  • How one's own written core values, the definition of success, purpose, and picture of ideal life help them live a life of clarity and confidence.
  • How this whole process is an excellent idea of self-care that enables one to realize the value of helping and giving back to others.

Although most people define or associate success with money, fame, power, and status, John's personal experiences and up-close encounters with some of the wealthiest people in the world made him realize considerably early in life that these things do not necessarily equate to success. Apparently, success is relative to whatever is part of one's personal set of core values. But an even greater predicament is that so many people, even executives, have not come up with their own definition of success let alone core values. It is for these certain causes that he has been in this business for t in three decades now, and has come at par with great authors, keynote speakers, corporate educators, and business leaders and influencers in America and around the world.

Being in the corporate world for most of her career, Amy Bracht had successfully worked her way up and kept hitting all the milestones every professional woman hopes to achieve. She had a great team and a great portfolio. But she reached the point where she woke up every morning asking herself if it was everything there is in life. Amidst that introspection, she realized that the part she enjoyed the most in her job was interacting with and coaching people, helping them to succeed.

Highlights:

  • Recalling the promise and the pre-work that shaped and prepared her for the big jump from the corporate to the entrepreneurial setting
  • Getting out of the "should's" into doing what you value the most especially the things you get only one shot at in life
  • The role of Psych-K(tm) in enriching self-awareness and correcting the negative self-talk and limiting beliefs
  • Simple and practical baby steps to reprogramming the human hard drive from the conscious to the subconscious operations of the positive changes moving forward

After having her own issues resolved through a Psych-K(tm) facilitator she only met virtually, she too has become a facilitator herself, helping people navigate through transitions and transformations. She sees coaching as "me holding the time and space" for someone who really knows himself better than anyone else, and has everything he needs in himself to resolve his own issues. Hence, it should not be as intimidating as it normally appears to many, especially to men.

To learn more about her and her transformation programs, she posts on LinkedIn Every day, and she can also be followed at www.abetteryouispossible.com.

When his youngest was diagnosed with autism, his heart sank, he felt extremely sorry for himself and for his child. But when he got home, after what seemed like the longest fifteen minute drive of his life, he resolved this limiting mindset. Moving forward, he will carry the mindset of a winner and begin shaping the best version of both his child and himself. This mental switch made him the most positive person he is today. With a little bit of luck and the support of people around him, he has been living a life of chief encouragement officer for everyone who needs push and encouragement.

Highlights:

  • How being a lifelong educator made him a holistic coach
  • The DNA of a Winner: Steps to pulling out the awesomeness in oneself
  • Exploring the difference between CAN (the skill) and the WILL (courage) in relation to keeping commitments
  • How self-care and filling one's own cup benefit and uplift the people around us

Leslie prepared herself and worked hard for motherhood. Although it was later than she had planned, a career was always part of the plan. Having done so, she thought that everything would just fall into place when she finally gets pregnant. However, when she finally had her second pregnancy it dawned on her that putting motherhood and career together was not going to be the smooth experience that she envisioned it to be. Her burnout brought her to the intersection of managing stress, growth and self-care, and eventually landed her in her current research and career focus.

Highlights:

  • Warning signals for burnout may include even strangers noticing our unwell physical appearance as well as feeling the job we used to love no longer works, and, worst, hallucinations
  • Bouncing back after burnout and the lightbulb moment of discovering Moms'Heirarchy of Needs
  • Redefining self-care (sleep, stress management, movement, putting good things into your body), may determine how one allocates her time
  • Applying MHN: eliminating extra baggage, setting boundaries, equitable sharing of chores, and or outsourcing/spouse sourcing services

The research was always at the core of her passion even before she started Mom's Hierarchy of Needs over five years ago. She explained how women are for being celebrated for doing things at the base of this hierarchy and are being shamed for doing things on top, she has become a sought-after and frequently quoted speaker, writer, and researcher by the various media outlets and publications such as New York Times, CNN, National Geographic, Fast Company, US News & World Report among others.

Lisa Denning was working in ad sales for a Manhattan publishing firm when she came to the realization that the pleasures of the table were her true passion, and where she wanted her professional life to develop. The only problem was that she didn’t know how to cook. Growing up, Lisa had done a lot of baking, but she didn’t have much opportunity to prepare full meals. She decided to leave her lucrative sales job to attend the French Culinary Institute, paving the way for a career in food, and ultimately, wine.

Soon after embarking on her new career, Lisa’s path veered to full-time motherhood with the arrival of her three daughters who, along with her husband, reaped the benefits of Lisa’s culinary expertise. Eventually, Lisa got a friendly nudge back into the working world by her friends who, knowing her love of food and wine, gifted her a professional wine certification course. Her training led to a sales associate position at one of New York’s most prestigious wine shops. Four years later, she decided to share her knowledge and experiences by starting The Wine Chef, now an award-winning personal blog.

Highlights:

  • Pairing food and wine, is a good place to start for novice wine drinkers
  • Understanding the social and personal parameters of wine and wine drinking
  • Wine writer perks: traveling the world, meeting winemakers, and visiting prestigious wineries
  • Suggestions on how to approach and enjoy wine
  • How the wine industry has adjusted post-Covid

To know more about Lisa's life as a savvy wine writer, a passionate foodie, a dedicated mom, as well as a survivor of the near-devastating physical effects of an early Covid experience, we can follow Lisa at The Wine Chef. If we want to take a glimpse of the histories and cultures that are blended in a glass of wine, we can read her articles on Grape Collective, where she publishes in-depth interviews with winemakers from all over the world.

In a fancy private school where he was one of the poorest students, Francisco was once asked to tell a story in front of his seventh-grade classmates. While that terrified him, he got excited that it might be something that could make a difference in his being an unpopular kid. Fortunately, they liked his story and that gave him one glorious moment of feeling like he was the most popular kid in school. That personal contact with the power of story and storytelling would years later pave the way to his becoming a story coach.

Highlights:

  • Talking about the airplane rather than the destination is a storytelling approach that can make one more engaging and stand out
  • Changing mindsets, adequate practice, and adrenaline rush can fix speaking fear for many
  • Inspiration vs constant practice of writing, connecting, and keeping track of ideas
  • Storytelling is the most effective approach to establishing the connection; the most compelling way of sharing information

Poor remuneration potentials of journalism and communication jobs took him away from his passion and got him stuck at a good-paying for a long time. However, the rest of his life flashed before him when he learned he was expecting a second daughter. That served as his turning point, and finally, he launched himself as a story coach just before the pandemic. Understanding that story is a real-life example that one could use to make a point, he is now working with people who use stories in their respective fields in many different ways by helping them do so in the most effective, engaging, and resonating way to people they want to reach.

Francisco Mahfuz has always loved speaking, even before he had anything useful to say. He's been telling his stories in front of audiences for close to a decade, and even became a National Champion of public speaking.

Today, Francisco is a keynote speaker and storytelling coach and offers communication training to individuals and international organizations. He's the author of "Bare: A Guide to Brutally Honest Public Speaking" and the host of The Storypowers Podcast.

Young, driven, ambitious, and very intense, Vivian was focused on execution. Best foot forward, he always felt it was his responsibility to figure things out. But after six months of struggling with a new role in South Africa, he was confronted with the reality that it simply wasn’t possible to know it all. Admitting it and asking for help gave him an enormous sense of relief.

Episode Highlights:

  • Our battle with perfectionism and proving ourselves in our career can be traced back to our education system, where we were graded based on performance
  • Taming our inner dialogue and determining when to take off our mental backpacks precede getting real, lighter, and being more present
  • The necessity of listening to intuition in leadership can help us achieve more
  • Vulnerability is key to authenticity and successful leadership

Vivian's personal and coaching experiences combine to give us a glimpse into the reality that underneath extreme success, including that of the highest achievers, lie individuals who need and want to be understood on a basic level. Hence, the rising significance of executive coaching in this extremely taxing society we have created.

Vivian James Rigney is President and CEO of Inside Us LLC, an executive coaching consultancy, operating throughout five continents. He has helped implement leadership development initiatives for some of the world’s leading companies and their executive teams.

On March 8th, 2022, his book Naked at the Knife-Edge: What Everest Taught Me About Leadership and the Power of Vulnerability (Forefront Books) was published, a compelling and often harrowing true account of his experience conquering Everest which offers a unique window into lessons on leadership and what it takes to succeed in any circumstance.

Fifteen years into transformational consultancy in IT spaces and financial service firms, Bibigi got pregnant while on a large-scale project. Her maternity struggles served as her "aha" that she pivoted to personal branding activism. She created a community that helps women figure out what they are spectacular at, own it up, and then find words and a platform to share it with the world.

Highlights:

  • What showing up really means
  • How group coaching and community learning benefits women, especially in networking and leveraging resources including brain power
  • How dealing with negative self-talk can limit or up women's sense of self-agency and why we should not believe most of it
  • How the language that we use makes the difference both in our perceptions and actions

While everyone else's default mode is looking it up in Google, in a book, or in any other established institution in order to help women meet their needs so they can show their greatness in different spaces, virtual and personal, Bibigi would utilize the personal expertise and experiences of individuals in her community to empower them. As we listen to her expound on self-talk, self-awareness, self-compassion, and risks, we will better understand why her branding us considered activism and why as women, we should subscribe to it.

Bibigi Haile is the founder of The Beauvoir Group, a career management, and personal branding consultancy. She works with women in middle and senior management roles, helping them make bold moves in their lives and careers as they discover the possibilities that come with finding their voice, embracing it, and becoming visible on their own terms.

There's a Hollywood version of pivoting which is waking up one day and dramatically quitting your job and noticing the bakery in your neighborhood and buying it on a whim to be a baker. We all know this is not how it looks in reality. These career pivots for women are more methodical, more long-term, more scrutinized, and more planned out. It takes women a few years to achieve a real transformation.

Because it does not happen overnight, it becomes less intimidating for many people who do these pivots. It opens the possibility for more women who want to follow a systematized, more conservative path in making a change. Some career pivots for women are not spontaneous but rather strategic and highly planned out when doing these pivots.

Highlights:

  • What is a career pivot and what does it look like?
  • How do you know you are on autopilot?
  • What does a successful career look like?
  • How do you know your pivot is successful?

Jess’ career pivot was sparked by her experience stepping into motherhood. When she had her first daughter, she craved a more authentic and purposeful career. Through initial research, she quickly discovered that her story—building a stellar career, doing everything “right,” but waking up lost—is not unique. Today, Jess has studied the career trajectories of more than 150 highly successful women and become an expert on women and career reinvention. She is a corporate speaker, private coach to high-performing women, and shares the extraordinary stories of the career changers she interviews through her blog and upcoming podcast. Having stayed in her first and only job for over ten years before SheSpeaks, alongside being a wife, a mom, and a daughter, Aliza considers herself a marathoner in many aspects. Working with American Express right after school, meeting her husband there, and exploring a great corporate structure that's friendly even for female employees, she was definitely at a very safe and promising place. However, her desire to become the driver of her own destiny motivated her to make a graceful exit and take the risk.

Show Highlights:

  • What it takes for a woman to become a master of her own success
  • How Stacy London serves as inspiration for women to dream anew and re-invent themselves
  • Banking on internal factors and building self-awareness especially when feeling stuck
  • Encouraging personal agency and taking control
  • Dreaming, changing dreams, re-evaluating and re-inventing, and changing perceptions on failure

Still bound by the societal stigma and the negative narratives around breadwinning women? It's time we speak more about it and normalize it. Alongside her family, this is Bethany's true passion, and we all can advance this feminine cause by amplifying her voice.

  • Overview of Breadwinning Women - what it does as a community and who are the members
  • Discussing the possible difference it had made among women and their families had these conversations been present a decade ago or so
  • Clarifying the importance of setting the family values and weighing the factors of deciding who gets to become the main family provider based on these values
  • Balancing the invisible work (and the possibility of outsourcing services) at home when the woman plays the role of the main provider
  • Identifying family struggles based on gender norms
  • Intentionally discussing the seemingly minor (but huge) issues in the marriage partnership
  • The need to educate people in the workplace and debunk the seemingly cemented stereotypes against working women.

Somehow, learning to be comfortable talking about the uncomfortable is what we need in order to achieve more acceptance and normalization. We have to speak more often and more loudly for ourselves. It's always been hard to look for role models when we decide to work or not to work. We might as well be the role models.

Bethanie began her career in the photo industry before joining Google in 2004. Throughout her 17-year career at Google, she has spent 12 hour days reviewing ads, sold the first campaigns on YouTube, created, launched, and (sometimes) sunsetted products, negotiated billions of dollars in first-of-their-kind deals, and oversaw data and analytics for a multi-billion dollar business unit. In late 2021, she joined the executive leadership team in Amazon’s Corporate Business Development group.

She is a tireless women’s advocate and recognized leader on the topic of breadwinning women. She founded Breadwinning Women’s community at Google which has grown to 3000 globally in two years. Bethanie is the host of the podcast, Working Wife, Happy Life! launched in early 2020.

As a Chief Revenue Officer and Chief Diversity Officer, a caregiver, a stepmother, and a wife, there definitely is a lot of things going on in Susan's life both at work and at home. Tracing her journey from the HR value chain, Susan has always been passionate about diversity all of her career. But with all of these as well as the future course and career shifts she might take, taking care of her dying father is a job no 1.

Episode Highlights:

  • How to help someone deal with the end of life journey with the physical and mental decline it entails
  • Distinguishing between the concepts of Burden vs. Blessing in relation to taking care of an elderly ill parent
  • Surviving/Thriving the overwhelming responsibility of caregiving
  • Practical tips on making the wishes of the dying come true
  • The necessity of getting recharged to sustain one's patience; of mustering grace and self-love; and of asking for help and taking a break.

The positive and very uplifting attitude learned from first-hand experience of caregiving by today's guest can be our very inspiration should we somehow find ourselves in a similar situation. While many believe we owe it to our parents, she emphasizes love as the best motivation to do it because if we do it only out of obligation, we might not bring the same amount of care in such an extremely overwhelming and taxing job.

Susan Van Klink has spent the last twenty years as a high-growth software executive bringing new, and often disruptive, technologies to market globally. In addition to helping software companies grow rapidly, Susan is also passionate about helping executives and future leaders accelerate their career growth through her executive coaching practice. She’s a writer, speaker, and global spokesperson, regularly presenting at conferences and to senior executives about topics such as scaling up companies, gender equality, DIEB (Diversity, Inclusion, Equity and Belonging) practices, and all things talent: culture, well-being, retention and caregiver support.

Lauren's journey started at five years old when her mom threw her into the pool where her elder sisters were swimming. She slowly began to learn and fall in love with swimming becoming an elite athlete in this highly competitive sport. Being a student of Political Science, the next step she wanted to take was law school, which she failed on her first attempt. But she was not one who easily gives up. So, she gave more heart and effort to prepare for the second time. Still, she didn't make it. Little did she know that such resilience would later hugely impact her life not only when she entered the corporate world as an HR, but more so as she shifted to the coaching business for athletes.

Regardless of her failed past ambitions, she finally saw the stars aligning for her. Weeks before the Covid outbreak, and months before the 2020 Summer Olympics, she started her coaching business. Being a former athlete herself, she was specifically passionate about working with athletes. She became so obsessed with the Summer Olympics. When Katie Ledecky failed at keeping her world record, she was devastated, trying to hide her emotions, she was deflecting every interview. At this, Michael Phelps said, "Competing at this level of the competition is very overwhelming. We just want someone who listens, someone we can talk to, and someone who doesn't wanna change us." That was a defining moment she keeps looking back to now that she has embarked on the coaching venture.

Mental Resilience is her focus in coaching. Although she has chosen to work with elite athletes, this is applicable to anyone from all walks of life. Whether you are an athlete, a parent, or a mentor of an athlete, this episode is for you. Learn how important "taking a moment" or "taking a pause" in every powerful performance and understand what exactly does it mean and how it is done. Then you can help any athlete you know on how to deal with the stressors and the pressures they experience in this highly esteemed yet extremely scrutinized industry.

Lauren is a mental resilient coach who support athletes to train their minds like they train their bodies. Lauren spent two decades chasing a successful swimming career. This foundation as a student-athlete set the tone for high achievement in the professional world.

In November 2019, Lauren received her professional coaching certification from the Institute of Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC) to feed her passion for supporting others in reaching their full potential.

Leading with high energy, grit, and unwavering commitment to her clients, Lauren's spark is unique and infectious. Her motto, "make it happen" drives her unabashed belief that athletes already have everything they need to succeed at whatever they want, it's simply a matter of removing the mental clutter that blocks them from seeing their full potential. It’s a matter of training their minds like they train their bodies.

As an eighth-grader, today's guest started a column at a school newspaper called "Ask Dr. Rich". While that gave his classmates a chance to ask questions mostly relational in nature, that gave him a glimpse of what he wanted to do and to become in the future. Guided by parents who groomed him to become a medical doctor, at that early age, he was certain he was destined to become a child psychiatrist.

Recently, he co-authored with his wife a book Own Your Greatness, which deals with strategies in overcoming impostor syndrome. This aims at helping successful people who feel stuck in their careers find a better fit, better paying, and more satisfying jobs and opportunities somewhere else. Though there had been a myth that impostor syndrome only hit women, he clarifies it is not the case. It looks different in men and women, particularly in their coping mechanisms, but it can happen to anyone regardless of gender. Women tend to overwork while men tend to associate with less advanced peers and seek mastery than risk-taking.

Delving deeper, he tells us that impostor syndrome, unfortunately, traces back to one's childhood experiences. Whether he is identified as a smart one, or just the lucky one, one has to work hard to cope, to live up, or to prove to wrong these somewhat soul-embedded identities. Hence, whether you are a man, a woman, or a parent, this session offers a lot of learnings and research-based steps to help you and those around you conquer impostor syndrome so that it no longer affects what you are capable of nor limits your highest potential.

A creativity strategy means understanding the role of beauty, desire, and aesthetics in building consumer insight. It's the ability to converge unique and divergent experiences by helping people understand that strategy is creative. It is about building better cultures of collaboration and a toggle between wonder and rigor to solve problems and produce noble value.

One of the creativity structures we found effective in a company is orthogonal thinking. Orthogonal thinking proved efficient when it comes to cognitive diversity - making sure that you have teams where not everyone has the same training, resume, or background. Companies that are trying to encourage orthogonal thinking move towards integrated creativity, consistently in the teams.

Natalie's transition from her profession as an anthropologist to a creativity specialist, as she calls it, is a wonderful evolution - not denying that in the process, she also had moments where she was just in unbelief. She started helping companies find ways they could design more as an organization. In this episode, we will learn more about company strategies for a better culture, orthogonal thinking, and taking a creativity leap.

Natalie Nixon, Ph.D. is a creativity strategist, global keynote speaker, and author. As president of Figure 8 Thinking, LLC she advises leaders on transformation- by applying wonder and rigor to amplify growth and
business value.

An alpha woman is anyone comfortable with a leadership position, with delegating and taking control. She is overly independent. She would normally come first in the line, get herself listed quickly, and remind her company to move fast as few people are coming after them.

Being an alpha herself, Jessica knows that this powerhouse personality brings a lot of positivity and energy, but it is not without flaws and problems when it comes to relationships - especially relationships with men. Her own unhappy experiences with men in the past as well as those of the clients she worked for, motivated her to develop her niche to help alpha women get the most out of their relationships and enjoy the relationship they always dreamed of.

A good man, whether he is or not an alpha, would always be supportive and happy seeing his woman fueled and accomplished. But he also has needs of his own, which reminds us that for a relationship to work, it has to be done in partnership. He is happy with his woman's success but he does not want to be in a place where he is without a role to play anymore or to feel good. He is wired with the need to be respected, with the will to provide, and the desire to lead. With that said, we have to learn the five layers of feminine warmth: receiving, respecting, raw feelings, relinquishing control, and recharging. Who knows if this is the fuel he needs to be inspired to become the man of your dreams and to give you the love and relationship you always wanted.

Jessica Stanclik, proudly wore the badge of "Miss Independent". She didn't need a man, after all, she could do it all on her own. That "badge of honor" never brought her true happiness though. Jessica learned how to soften into her feminine essence and is now a WIFE with the most amazing marriage that teaches other strong independent women how to become the warm and soft woman their heart truly desires.

Landing a career in a tech company, Kim was pleasantly surprised how her psychology background helped her fit into its politics and complexities. She started out great, feeling no particular difference being a woman that she even thought that gender inequality in the workplace was overblown. However, it did not always remain that way. Soon she found herself going home angry over its brotastic culture. Having worked with the company for almost a decade, it had become comfortable and familiar. She felt that making changes was scarier than staying in an unhappy job.

But when she took her MBA on organizational leadership, she began to see things she could not turn a blind eye to. She decided to move to a smaller company where she can make a greater impact. In addition to that, her maternity leave gave her an opportunity to take a breath away from work for the very first time. That soul-searching chapter led her to coach. Fast-forward ten years later, she is still enjoying a successful career and livelihood in the industry.

And now, resonating with what most women coaches advocate, Kim is passionately helping women to become more visible, more confident, and more influential in traditionally male-dominated spaces. As a leadership coach focusing on women, she is also sharing with us a fresh and a rather positive perspective on impostor syndrome. She maintains that even if it were not in your power as a woman to change the long-term established workplace culture, you are not a hostage to it and you have a choice.

Kim Meninger is an executive coach and the host of the Impostor Syndrome Files podcast. She is passionate about empowering women to become more confident, visible, and influential leaders. Kim understands the challenges facing women in the workplace because she has experienced them herself.

Prior to coaching, she spent over 10 years in the high-tech industry in relationship management. She strives to be the resource to women she wishes she had during her own corporate career.

Shelia’s mentor from The Big Sister Little Sister program introduced her to the arts, which resulted in a lifelong love of theatre, music, and all things cultural. These experiences empowered her curious mind to grow beyond her low-income youth. The college scholarship she got for theater catered to her specific interest in human beings, how they are internalizing, and how they are experiencing their roles and their lives. Ultimately, she pivoted on her highly successful global career at UBS AG into talent coaching for her current firm, Templar Advisors.

Her international coaching expertise includes working with executives across finance ranging from private equity and wealth management to the largest global banks. While many of her clients are men, one of her specialties is coaching women and the unique challenges they face in a competitive world. She espouses the proof that diverse talent results in a better bottom line and that there are many great women in the workplace who need role models to help them step into their value, build self-confidence, and even their own networks. Having grown up in male-dominated south coupled with her experience as a rare female leader during the 2008 credit crisis was formative. Today, Shelia likes to "pay it forward" as an advocate for women to start speaking up and engaging in necessary negotiations.

Negotiations for Shelia is simply problem-solving. It is something that we do every day. However, women need to be more active participants rather than feeling powerless in negotiations. She wants them to identify the tactics used between parties, whether it is a silent treatment or an invisible limited authority. She wants women to advocate not only for others but also for themselves while avoiding the social and scientifically proven pitfalls women face. She wants them to know their value, fight off fears of rejection, and be willing to walk away when they notice the terms of the deal have been changed.

As a coach and trainer, Sheila Plaisance works behind the scenes as a leader who empowers every client to become the very best of themselves.

Privately, the same behind-the-scenes approach can be said of her passions for world travel, sailing, and her love of friends, family, horses, and her puppy Finn.

After finishing two degrees in London, today's guest decided to sail the seven seas by offering HR services, after a few years later met a man of the seas, and with him started a family. While she enjoyed colossal success climbing the corporate ladder, it cost her a great price - her health. After being let down by western medicine in failing to find answers, she realized she was sick and tired of being sick and tired. She found the secrets to healing her body with the right type of food, hydration, sleep, circadian fasting, exercise, and daily detox habits and has never felt better!

This was how she shifted life courses and became a Certified Holistic Health Coach & Women's Health Expert. Gut health as she describes affects literally your entire body. For optimal immunity, detoxification, and nourishment, our gut must function seamlessly. Even in a perfect world, our gut has a hard time keeping things balanced.

One obvious way we can find red flags on our gut issues is by studying the frequency, color, and consistency of our stool. In addition, we also have to notice the speed of digestion, constipation, among other things as they point to different imbalances we might otherwise not be able to identify.

The four pillars of gut health include cleaning up one's diet and toxic overload, probiotic supplements, identifying and eliminating specific food triggers, and stress management. Moreover, she also shares how intermittent fasting can help our gut relax from its work, clean and regulate functions of the body. These along with practical tips resonate with what we have been advocating for fellow women like us -- to take care of ourselves and not put our health last in the list of priorities at the same time taking care of our dear family.

Petra is a firm believer that one of the best things you can do to live a healthier life is to change how you fuel your body with food. Her approach to her clients is centered on the idea of bio-individuality: each person has unique needs.

Her goal is to empower women to become the best version of themselves – to regain their glow from the inside out by healing your gut, regulating your hormones, ditching sugar and balancing your systems for soaring energy, ageless beauty, and enduring confidence.

Believing that business has a role to play for the betterment of society, Torin went into management consulting to learn how things run. However, he soon found out that ultimately, the problem in the workplace is often interpersonal. While many businesses did well at optimizing processes and technology, they remain relatively unsophisticated in the area of people optimization (e.g. neuroscience and psychology).

Back when leaders were just project managers, holding people to standards and deadlines, this might have been acceptable. Nowadays, this simple scope of activities would be completely unacceptable if someone wanted to call themselves a "leader". Regardless of the size and how your company operates -- whether it is a startup, remote, or big business, people need and will continue to need to feel psychologically and emotionally safe. It's probably something that large companies could and should learn from the small ones. Since human beings are wired with the ability to be personally connected with only a limited number of people, large companies should invest more in activities that make people know each other on a more personal level. This is especially important during the pandemic when we have seen unprecedented levels of depression, anxiety, and stress rise all over the world.

It's of utmost importance for leaders nowadays to recognize that to be a leader one has to make sure that the people in the company have a deep emotional and intellectual connection and psychological safety. Often that requires vulnerability, humility, authenticity, inclusion, and openness from leaders. When leaders can make teams feel psychologically safe, it inspires the courage to take the emotional and intellectual risks necessary for elite levels of team performance.

Torin Monet serves individuals and organizations who wish to sustain unprecedented collective human potential for innovation, productivity, satisfaction, and sustainability of the species. He has 16 years of experience championing and leading transformation, talent strategy, and organizational effectiveness initiatives and commendations for management, innovation, and customer satisfaction.

Many of those who take shifts in life courses such as career change have done so after a particular "Aha!" moment or eureka. For Steven, it was more of a series of small shifts. Specifically, his readiness and willingness to finally get sober after he started suffering the psychological and legal consequences of being an alcoholic.

When he finally had enough of those consequences, that was when he consciously navigated his journey forward and took on several independent yet related micro changes which include overcoming obesity, conquering a toxic work environment, triumphing over alcoholism, and, lastly, getting a spiritual connection to something greater than himself.

Being a slow learner and less adaptive to change himself, he resonates with one particular wisdom from another coach which is called "Courageous Imperfect Action". This system underscores that anyone who wants to change doesn't have to wait for perfection but to take action even in the face of fear. In addition and in order to guarantee success in this transformational journey, Steven's advice is for one to chunk things down, take small bites, and do it one at a time. This is quite an episode to kick off 2022!

As a former engineering manager, Steven knows both the hard and soft sides of leadership. Throughout his 22 years in engineering, Steven also served as a trainer to Fortune 500 organizations as well as influencing and managing company-wide change management activities. He is an ICF Professional Certified Coach, a TEDx speaker, a trained Facilitator along with Founder of multiple Toastmasters public speaking clubs.

We are trained and taught that success means money and material possessions - the house, the car, and the job - all these material possessions that we are trying to chase. However, we know sometimes, it's the little things that count.

In an age of busyness, nothing is more luxurious than having time. In an age of distraction, nothing is more valuable than paying attention. In an age of hustle, nothing is more important and urgent than just sitting still and being fully present.

Unhustle is a different way of looking at how we live and how we work. In this session, we are joined by Milena Regos, the founder of Unhustle® a rebel entrepreneur on a mission to inspire 100 million people to change the way they work, live, and play, a counterintuitive but science-based approach to the burnout Hustle Culture.

For so long a time, regardless of their work, women take on at least two-thirds of what it takes for the family to thrive. For those who are co-breadwinners, that means even more. Unfortunately, most of these have been left invisible and unheard of. Somehow, this has even become a huge source of mommy guilt, when a wife feels injustice over her disproportionate share of the household labor including emotional.

In the workplace, this injustice is equally evident. Even when a woman works with the same level of demand, pressure, and importance as a man, she gets paid less. Woman's time is less valued than man's too. And when they both go home, she is expected to multi-task and take charge of all the cards while he enjoys much liberty and time. And yet again, she cannot seem to complain. This vicious pattern has become so embedded in the culture that she cannot seem to do anything within. Recognizing that this is such a universal systemic problem, Eve Rodsky started to revolutionize and change her life by unlearning so many things beginning ten years ago. It saved her own marriage and has helped many women since.

In this episode, we talk about we are joined by Eve Rodsky as we discuss the "Fair Play Formula" and other key terms such as Conception, Planning, and Execution as well as Boundaries, System, and Communication, among others.

A child’s world view, including injustices and triumphs, starts within the family of origin-- and that mothers are often responsible for shaping it. From parenting a child with special needs to advocating for individuals with disabilities, Dionna has a life-long calling of building up vulnerable communities to help them be the best version of themselves. Dionna at 37-years-old was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. The mother of three began to evaluate her priorities, self-care and began establishing boundaries at home and at work -- by leveraging the power of her voice.

Her own experiences as well as the reality of aging made her shift from working for others to establishing her own missions and goals. She was able to launch a new professional course with the help of coaches, one of whom inspired her to give herself a retirement date. All of these shaped the life coach that she is today, with the primary goal of empowering women working outside or inside the home.

A few tippets she shares include being able to control and navigate work-life balance; bringing your family and support system onboard; boundary management; reaching out for help; listening to your body; paying attention to your relationships and a whole lot more.

Dionna Rojas is a Speaker, Author, Award-Winning Business Owner, and Certified Life Coach specializing in Boundary Coaching. Seeing a lot of negative things on the news as a child, Sonia resolved to make a positive contribution to the community when she is a grownup. Being both a mom and a wife now, that is what she lives to fulfill day in and day out. As she copes with these two challenging roles, she found writing as a therapeutic outlet, which later paved the way to the publication of her books including "Kisses in Your Heart" and "Flourish for Mums".

While most mothers tend to lose their identity when the motherhood journey commences, Sonia -- who had all three of her children within two years and seven months -- found her children as extensions of herself and identity. Even when her motherhood journey started out in a somewhat survival mode, she soon managed to retrain her brain and reconnect with herself with writing.

As she shares with us how these books came to be, we will see pieces of practical insights on self-care, self-time, and self-love. Hence, if you are a mom struggling over getting mothering right or wallowing in the universal phenomenon of mother guilt, especially now that the pandemic has placed us in deep perspective check, this is your opportunity to learn and explore this revolutionary idea. If you have been living your life sacrificing and sometimes forgetting yourself just so your loved ones could make it in this life, it is your chance to change your strategy: include yourself, remind yourself that you are loved and you matter. Then see how self-reconnection will better your relationships especially with your family.

If you imagined a perfect world at work, how would men show up? What characteristics would they demonstrate? What would they do that most don’t do now? What would they stop doing?

Historically, men have focused almost exclusively on the arrow--the masculine energies of strength, assertiveness, and clarity of direction. But in a work world that is faster, flatter and fairness-focused, men also need to lean into the circle--the feminine energies of connection to others, receptivity, and compassion.

In this episode, we are joined by Ed Frauenheim as we discuss how men are changing and must change to adapt to today’s emerging workplace.

From being a bison meat salesman and a chef/ restaurant owner, Jordan pursued his interest in psychology in graduate school and became an established author. As he was promoting his first parenting book "The New Childhood", he noticed a great marginalization of fathers in the area of parenting, which he associated with misogyny, a subject he thought should have been called out hundreds of years ago. This was the genesis of the book he recently launched, "Father Figure".

With this radical and subversive book, this feminist dad advocates that it is about time men start owning the word feminism. Because unlike most misconceptions that feminism is a movement to cancel men, his research made him redefine the term as "a commitment to ending oppression, subjugation, inequality, and exploitation that's based on gender".

In this exciting episode, he will define the term he coined "narcissistic patriarchal authority"; justify why "Father knows best" is a myth; and, more importantly, guide men to navigate feminism as the best way to become a dad in the ethos of a borderless, highly connected world.

We all have strengths and weaknesses, the light and the dark part of our personality. However, many of us usually choose to conceal our weaknesses until we get triggered. And when we are triggered, our response could either be defending (a rejection of the part of ourselves we do not want to show off) or accepting (knowing that both our strengths and weaknesses are our superpowers and they are just a flip of a coin). In fact, this is what it means to take responsibility for who you really are, which is an antidote to beating yourself or blaming others or your circumstances.

This is needless to say easier said than done since we normally react negatively when we are triggered. But taking a pause and giving yourself some space to breathe in and breathe out could also give you the time and the power to choose how to respond at the moment. Briefly, today's guest shares with us a three-way process of managing our triggers which she calls ART. A for Attention; R for Reflection; and, T for Transformation.

In this episode, we will treat you with another realistic hack on how to juggle multiple roles such as being a wife, a mom, a teacher, an actor, and a director among others. Plus, you will be given an idea of how the enneagram could help us not only fully embrace ourselves but also increase self-awareness and ultimately enhance self-care so we can better take care of others.

Since childhood, most of us have been told and taught to fit into the mold. While that is equally difficult for many, it is even more challenging for someone growing up in the 1980s bullied and isolated for being gay. When you are the latter, it would be understandable if you grow up making some protective barriers about yourself both in your personal and corporate life. This is what Chuck's childhood was.

Now more than ever, in the midst of the pandemic, where many of us struggle over personal and societal mental health; it is of utmost importance to be more authentic, to own who you are, and to never be apologetic for being different.  Join us in this episode as we welcome our guest, Chuck Texeira, as he shares his experiences of navigating through and eventually crossing from the corporate to the entrepreneurial world and the benefits of embracing who you truly are and encouraging others to do the same for themselves.

Growing up surrounded by a lavish amount of wealth, it was admirable how Tracy's parents were able to raise a family not bearing the pressure of keeping up with the Joneses. However, her own personal struggles, hormonal changes, seeking of attention and rebellion took a toll on her. As she connects the dots looking backward now, she remembers how authentic connections and relationships in different pivotal life stages helped her forge the direction that she would later want to tread.

Hence, from being an insurance broker to becoming an insurance policymaker and finally becoming a real financial manager, Tracy worked her way through different roles and angles of the job, crossed the impostor syndrome, and developed a new skill set every single time.

Join us in this episode and learn how a woman journeyed through, and eventually succeeded in a highly male-dominated industry at a rate that defied the norms and expectations.

Even years prior to the pandemic, culinary therapy which focuses on the mental and physical health benefits of cooking, and its mind and body connection, had already been a great help for many people around the world to cope with stressful situations.

Cooking in this sense keeps us connected with our loved ones, with our culture, but most importantly with ourselves. However, familiar concepts like comfort food, getting hangry, as well as following certain dietary disciplines can still cause one so much stress and pressure and altogether take away your pleasure from cooking.

In this episode, Lily is going to help us -- both from personal experience as well as from the testimonies of her virtual Dishmeetup community -- learn how a whole new perspective towards cooking for oneself, following no rules or standards but your own, and not worrying about what others have to say about it, can be extremely beneficial for your own mental health and overall happiness.

When asked about what they want in life, people would say, "a million dollars", "a better marriage", or "more self-confidence". Delving deeper into what they want in any of these, they would tell you they only want happiness. And they want long-term happiness, not just short-term. This thinking is brought about by a horizontal living or just merely reacting to circumstances.

If you, like many others, also find yourself in this seemingly endless quest for happiness, this might be the treat you just need. Grab this chance to learn some workable and practical ways from Tracy's close to twenty years of life coaching expertise and turn your life around.

In this episode, we are joined by Tracy Fox, an NYU Certified Executive Life Coach, Speaker, and Author of Four Best-selling Books on Happiness. Tune in as we talk about what happiness really is.

What happens when one's self worth is hugely associated with being a successful connector with a Manhattan office and then a pandemic forces you into isolation?

Once you’ve lost that identity, how do you shift your mindset and allow yourself permission to redefine not only what but who you are along the way.

“Seasoned” professionals are experts at dealing with business transitions but how about with our own transitions? Personal growth is scary and disruptive, and doing anything different or new requires imagination and trust.  We can’t allow inertia to dictate us and forever eliminate the wide range of opportunities outside our experience. It is never too late to put yourself first and re-define your identity .

In this episode, we are joined by Kay Cioffi as we talk about the flexibility of going places, helping people and giving to charities, and most importantly, the happiness and the joy of just being your true self in the process.

Microdosing is a topic that used to and still could scare many of us imagining the "getting high" effects of these "illegal" drugs and other negative connotations looking back a few decades ago. But what if we're told that as much as we could develop biceps and other physical muscles by exercising, we too can heal and train our brains with microdoses of psilocybin. What hope it will be for those who are battling depression, anxiety, ADD, and other mental issues. Not to mention the countless athletes all over the world living their lives with the permanent pain of brain traumas and injuries such as concussions.

In this episode, we will explore the adventures of a man whose successes and setbacks give us a picture of a wife who allowed him to find himself in the process. By listening to the Chief Marketing Officer of Leiio, a business that's on a mission to change the way we think, our minds could be blown away by the medical breakthrough that Microdosing promises for brain healing.

Parenting will always have its challenging moments. Many of us inherit our parenting styles based on how we were raised when we were kids. All our wounds as grown-ups trace back to when we were children. Unless we take the time to heal those wounds, we will untimely find ourselves parenting from our own wounds.

Raising our own level of self-awareness helps ensure that what we give to our children is a little more sweet, loving, and beautiful. Recognizing it as a circular relationship between parent and child and one where it's mutual learning. Seeing our kids as the "awakeners" and being open to the idea that parenting is a process and one where we have an opportunity to engage in new ways of being parents. This is the process that is not just in a parent-to-child perspective but is a mutual advancement.

In this episode, we are joined by Stefanie Tocco and Ariane De Bonvoisin, both parents and advocates of learning different parenting strategies to encourage children and parents to grow together.

We can all agree that physical fitness is important in staying healthy. Some of us are guilty of setting aside our workout schedule over an unexpected appointment. Staying motivated and focusing on our goal plays a big role in making sure we keep our workout routine to stay physically fit.

Our aging process does not exactly help with brain health and so knowing the steps and ways to help our cognition as we get older is essential. It is not easy getting old and there are ways we can do to look good, feel good and stay healthy as we age.

In this episode, we are joined by Giovanni Roselli, a nationally recognized fitness coach, author, and presenter. As a man of many talents, the former WWE Superstar known as “Romeo” has also professionally acted alongside some of the world’s top actors including Tina Fey, Mickey Rourke, and James Franco. Some people say multitasking reduces our efficiency and performance. This is because our brain can only focus on one thing at a time. Hence, when we try to do two things at once, our brain lacks the capacity to perform both tasks successfully.

Does cutting our day up by thirds (work, play, sleep, repeat) help us be more productive? We hear others say "work smarter, not harder" because "less is better". This is a practice productive people do which is completely different from what we are accustomed to doing but many workers have proven this to work.

In this episode, we are joined by Rachael Sherman, a Managing Director at Microsoft, where she leads digital transformation representing large, global US-based banks. Learn with us as we talk about productivity, vulnerability, authenticity, and just "being you".

In order to be mentally healthy, we also need to be mentally fit. Most people today know that we need to be physically fit to stay healthy but only a few people give the same level of importance to mental health. Like physical fitness, mental fitness requires us to practice . One of these exercises is learning to manage stress.

In this episode, we are joined by Dr. Leonaura Rhodes, a corporate well-being trainer, business coach, and Life Coach devoted to helping individuals and businesses grow and thrive. Together, let's learn how we can stay mentally fit.
