The story of Ruth is told in the Old testament. While it's known as a great love story, which it is, I enjoy the incredible love between Ruth and her mother in law. I love how their love brings them a whole new life, thanks to the redeemer Boaz.  There is so much to learn from the story, how willing the redeemer is to save her, is an example of how willingJesus is to be our redeemer. How God takes care of them, even when Naomi is crying out against the unfairness of it all.
I hope you enjoy this story and if you have other characters you would like to hear about, drop me a line and I will see what I can do. Thank you for listening, hope you have a lovely day

I love Christmas, family time, laughter, the joy. This is the story of the reason we celebrate, the story of Mary of Nazareth, a young girl, called by good to walk a blessed and difficult path.  I often wonder what it was like for her, her courage as she accepts this incredible calling at so young an age. I love the quiet Joseph in the background, supportive, obedient to God and loving of his bride. It's the begging of Jesus life on earth, the reason we can be called God's family. It's a story of wonder and joy. If you want to read the transcript or see the research behind my story, please visit my website at www.simplytheirstory.com.
Thanks for listening - God bless

I first prepared this as an assignment and fell in love with this story.  I imagine `Deborah must have been an amazing woman,  she is the only woman recorded as a judge in this patriarchal society.

I love how it really is an impossible win, yet Deborah and Barak just keep going, and the way God makes it harder by telling them to fight in a place they have even less advantage.

I truly get so excited and how God shows up and the lovely twist in the tale at the end. I hope you enjoy this story and read it in Judges 4,5 for yourself. If you like the transcript and research can be found on my website at www.simlytheirstory.com.

The story of Eve has always held a fascination, I often wonder what the garden was like, would I have made a different choice when the serpent came?
Here is her story, a story of beauty, joy, choice, shame and consequence. But over it, all God's love and grace is seen. While Eve did eat the forbidden fruit, she also carried the line that would bring us the redeemer.

I read a book Reclaiming Eve ( by Suzanne Burden, Carla Sunberry and Jamie Wright, published by beacon hill press in 2014) and it got me thinking about Eve and her story.  I have written a narrative which you can find on my website www.simplytheirstory.com, here i just wanted to share some thoughts on how her story impacts our lives.

I realised we all carry some guilt, shame or blame from bad choices so it's interesting to look at Eve, the mother of all, including bad choices.

Based on the book of Daniel;1-6; the story is told by Irdabama a noblewomen in the Babylonian court. There is a theme of heroism, of staying to true to God in an idolatrous and dangerous land. Hear the story of four young men, captives in the great neo-Babylonian empire, a story of risk, of honour, of bravery, but most of all a story of God's protection over his own. To read the script  or see some of the research behind the story - check out my website on www.simplytheirstory.com,

The story of Abigail is one of courage, a story of quick thinking, a story of quick action to undo someone else’s folly. Scripture presents her as a beautiful, intelligent woman whose lot in life is one of being married to a rich fool. Abigail reveals how wisdom and determined action can save good people from disaster. Abigail seized the information given, understood what needed to be done, and then did it. Even more than this Abigail is a type and shadow of Christ.

Abigail comes riding a donkey. She presents an offering for Nabal’s trespass (sin sacrifice). She asks David to let the blame for the offence fall on her alone (substitutionary guilt). She prophecies about David’s reign (declaring the kingdom). She is a peacemaker. She washes the feet of David’s servants.
Once again God includes and honours women in his redemptive plan.

Mary Magdalene appears in a few places in the gospels. Luke records her deliverance in 8:1-2. She is the first to see Jesus after his resurrection and he calls her by name (John 20:1-8).
Her story resonants with women today, she is not defined by her past as Jesus calls us by name. Today still Jesus honours us, loves us and sees us as his image-bearers, showing his compassion to a broken world.

There are quite a few Mary's in the New Testament. This story is about Mary of Bethany, sister to Martha and Lazarus and friend to Jesus.  Her story speaks to us when we just want to focus on Him, it weeps with us when we call out and can't feel his presence or find answers; this story is for those times we just want to give our all in worship to His grace, His love, His Kindness.
Based on Luke 10 and John 11 & 12.
