Talking to y’all today about what I’m thinking about for the Fall 2022 Phase of Game Ready. This episode is a great example of why I started this podcast. Things get a little complex / scientific, and if I tried to write this information out blog-style, it would take me SO much longer to get the information out. Instead, I hopped on the mic and rambled for ~20 minutes and hopefully sparked your interest in the team!
Now on to the topic:
I’m a big fan of Conjugate style programming, where we have either a Max Effort or Dynamic Effort focus for any given day. I think it creates order in what could otherwise be a chaotic environment with clients coming and going at different times throughout the week. The following are two options of conjugate training I’m experimenting with. Reach out with any questions, comments, or thoughts!
Today’s talk comes from my reflecting on what I did during a session with one of my basketball clients. We started the session with build-ups and flying 10s, then moved on to using the FLEX by GymAware on some Speed Hex Bar Deadlifts, as well as the Vertec for some standing jumps, and then used the breakaway hurdles for some jump footwork drills.
Today’s talk was spurred on by my observations. First I saw an older man struggling to run with his daughter, and then I had a client perform heavy singles on Front Squat and they got me thinking.
