We are re-releasing this episode of #FEWomenSpeakly, from 11 April 2019, to co-incide with our '#YouToo — Can make intersectional gender equality the reality in FE' conference on Wednesday 31.3.21. Thirty years ago Ann Limb was the first ever chair of WLN. Now, in 2021, she's joining us at the #YouToo conference looking back over the history and achievements of WLN with Sally Dicketts (AoC president-elect) and Pauline Odulinski (Chair of City College Plymouth; Board member of Activate Learning Group and Fellow and Visiting Professor at Buckinghamshire New University).

In the episode, Kathryn James caught up with Ann Limb (Founder & Vice President Helena Kennedy Foundation; Fellow Commoner of Lucy Cavendish College University of Cambridge; named in the Northern Power Women 2019 Power List; #1 LGBTQ+ public sector role model on the 2019 "OUTstanding LGBT+ Role Model Lists) to find out about the early days of WLN; what advice she'd give her younger self; and why in 2019 Ann began speaking out about her own intersectional identity.

In the FE, skills and lifelong learning sector, and in politics and policy more generally, women's voices are desperately missing from the debate. Especially diverse women's voices.

We are excited to re-release our first ever #FEWomenSpeakly podcast with @CathMurray_ (Commissioning Editor for #SchoolsWeek and #FEWeek when we recorded it in February 2019). In it Cath grabbed the Women's Leadership Network microphone to explain why she thinks it’s important for more women in FE to get their voices heard and influence the debate on key issues.
