As a human of countless interests and few developed, my goal is to each week provide questionably necessary intel about all of the topics you’ve discovered in passing, but never got to investigating. Each episode entails three hours of research time and thirty minutes of aired casual conversation.
Turns out mixtapes are a bit more complicated than we thought. They’ve got a lot to do with the music industry as well as music snobbery in all of its greatness. Here I spend fifteen minutes beginning to discuss why playlists under no circumstances should be shuffled.
Composer and personality extraordinaire, Jon Brion, is the focus of this weeks episode. We cover everything from his recent production of Mac Miller’s posthumous album, “Circles,” to the use of hidden gems in movies scores he’s done throughout the years.
