Man oh man... This is the end of season 4!
We’re wrapping up season 4 with my “T2" book reviews (I realized in season 3 that it wasn’t “Quarter 1” because it was Jan-April… so “Third 1”... 😅 OH WELL!) These are the books I read between May and August this year!
Season 5 is quickly approaching! Sneak Peeks are coming VERY soon!! I’m excited!!Follow, rate, leave a comment/review, and share, please! And follow on instagram @ mama.jess.ramon AND Patreon for double the content patreon.com/mamajessramon
Verse of the Week: Proverbs 22:6, "Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it."
No prep.
No feeding answers.
Just a 6 and 5 year old honestly answering questions about their schooling experience!

Everything else we've mentioned this whole season...
LOTS and LOTS of BOOKS!!
Man oh man, sometimes, we just need to know that it’ll be worth it in the end! Thank you Ruthanne for sharing your journey (thus far… only a couple more years to go!) and for encouraging students and parents alike that homeschooling IS worth it. We just have to stick with it, find community, and trust God!
In case you missed last week, I also got to speak with Ruthanne’s mom, Marlena. I’d say it’s working out for them!
Ruthanne’s Verse of the Week: 1 Corinthians 2:9, "That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, 'No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.'"

Man oh man... I couldn’t do this thing without my homeschool helper… HOLY SPIRIT!!
Thank you so much, Pastor Marlena (Mama Marlena to me!) for encouraging everyone listening with the only absolute Truth there is… God always provides! God can speak to you directly, no confusion. He can provide wisdom, strength, and patience. He is the ultimate homeschool helper!!
If you are not a Christian, please still listen to this episode. You may be surprised at how personal our God is. He knows each and every hurdle you come across, no matter the size! I don’t think I could do… well, anything (!) without Him.
Marlena’s Verse of the Week: 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”

BEFORE YOU LISTEN, make sure to listen to last week’s episode first… or later… or whenever, really, in honor of my mom’s type B-ness! hahah
My mom (alongside my dad, of course) successfully graduated my sister and I from high school, myself from college, and soon, my sister from cosmetology school. She is the bomb diggety. She is swag-tastic. She gives the best hugs, is the biggest supporter I have, plans the most fun parties, and gives the greatest gifts. I try to be more like her, but we all know I’m more like my dad (which I think is just fine!! haha) Give this episode a listen to see why I am the way I am (She’s only responsible for the good parts, like I said last week!)
Mom’s Verse of the Week: Matthew 11:28-30, "Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.'”

Meet my mom. (Or meet her again, for those who have been around since the beginning when I shared my adoption story on here!) She successfully graduated my sister and I from high school, myself from college, and soon, my sister from cosmetology school. She is the bomb diggety. She is swag-tastic. She gives the best hugs, plans the most fun parties, and gives the greatest gifts. I try to be more like her, but we all know I’m more like my dad (which I think is just fine!! haha)
Give these next two episodes a listen to figure out why the heck I am the way I am. It’s because of her!! (Good or bad… just kidding! I take responsibility for the bad parts. She’s only responsible for the good!)
Mom’s Verse of the Week: Ephesians 3:20-21, “Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.”

Man oh man... I can’t verbally express how much I love my sister. I’m BASICALLY her second mom (a cool mom…) I have seen her struggling, thrive, and everything in between. I’ve watched her chase her dreams, work her butt off, and sleep in till 11am for weeks on end. We’ve laughed together, cried together, and we’ve literally thrown punches at each other! hahaha SIGGHHHHH Thank you, Jules, for sharing your journey, for being vulnerable, honest, and humble. Thank you for encouraging me, too. Listening back to edit, I may have teared up a li’l bit. I miss you!!
If your child has dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, ADHD (or ADHD tendencies), or really any extra barriers to cross in their learning journey, please give this episode a listen. If you know someone that’s walking this path, share it with them! And check out the Patreon where I’m released a bonus episode on homeschooling a child with learning disabilities, health issues, special needs, etc. Like Jules said in this episode, it’s what YOU make of it!

Thank you so much to my Aunt Stephanie for coming on to talk about homeschooling, but also for always being willing to talk about anything! Throughout my WHOLE life, this woman has been such an inspiration and a safe place for me to talk, rant, cry, laugh, anything! I can’t thank her enough for the mentorship and countless hours of counseling. When it comes to homeschooling, specifically, listen in for one of the most well-rounded episodes yet. We talk about EVERYTHING in these TWO episodes! Yes, we talked for so long that I split it into two weeks! So, make sure to listen next week for part 2!
Stephanie’s Verse of the Week: Isaiah 43:2-5, “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I gave Egypt as a ransom for your freedom; I gave Ethiopia and Seba in your place. Others were given in exchange for you. I traded their lives for yours because you are precious to me. Verse of the Week: “In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.” - Romans 12:6-8 NLT
Man oh man... It’s nice to just get away…
This episode is all about our Bavaria-wide PWOC retreat in Karlovy Vary, Czech (see the extra resources blog on the Patreon for more info on PWOC - Protestant Women of the Chapel). Such a beautiful town and an AMAZING weekend! There will be another Patreon-exclusive bonus episode with even more about the weekend and my first fasting experience by the time this episode is launched on the public platforms.

Verse of the Week: “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.” - Psalm 23:1-3
Man oh man... We are the culture creators…
Thank you so much to Carol (and her hubby, who you heard from last week!) for sharing! I pray that these episodes have enlightened you all when it comes to the Army Chaplaincy, what it takes to join, how it affects families, AND my favorite children's ministry program, AWANA! What a blessing it is to share the love of God's Word with kids from all over our community and the WORLD!
I am in full denial that this family will be PCSing soon. Please be praying for their safety and their next Chapel. Wherever they end up, they will be a massive blessing!

Man oh man... What is a Chaplain?
First interview of the season: I'm VERY excited to introduce the Young family! Thank you so much to Chaplain Young (and Carol, his wife, who you'll hear from next week!) for coming to "my" office (ha! the schoolroom...) and sharing about the Chaplain Core!
I had many questions, and I pray that this enlightens you all when it comes to the Army Chaplaincy, what it takes to join, how it affects families, AND my favorite children's ministry program, AWANA! Man oh man... Welcome to Season 3!
This is the third installment of our mini-series on evangelism: Christ, Calvary, Covenant. Evangelism may seem like a huge word, but it's actually super simple. Using a book I was gifted by my pastoral network, The Simplicity of the Gospel (Pastor Rod Parsley, 2024), we're going to talk about just how simple God's good news is and how truly easy it is to share that good news with the people around us.

This is the final installment of our mini-series on evangelism. Evangelism may seem like a huge word, but it's actually super simple. Using a book I was gifted by my pastoral network, The Simplicity of the Gospel (Pastor Rod Parsley, 2024), let's equip the kids in our lives (whether we're parents, friends, mentors, or ministers) with the TRUTH before the world tries to teach them its LIES!

Verse of the Week: John 3:16
Man oh man... It's time for an end-of-the-year book review :)
I read 18.75 books this year! hahah I put them into categories and reviewed each one this week, hopefully giving some recommendations and some... anti-recommendations??
I will be back for season three in January! I'm excited to maybe try some new things... Thank you for listening here in 2024! Merry Christmas!

Verse of the Week: John 1:1
Man oh man... Yup, I'm going there! hahah
As if last week wasn't hot-button enough talking about my convictions on Halloween, Santa, modesty, pornography, and more... I just had to bring Trump and Kamala into the mix!
On a real note, I hope everyone enjoyed their uneventful Thanksgiving weekend with their crazy uncles... I underestimated my ability to pack and prep the house for our four-day trip while Austin worked and four toddlers and two dogs ran around my feet!! So, I did not get this episode out on December 1st as originally planned. Thank you for the grace!

Man oh man... we may not share personal convictions, and that's okay!
Have you ever wondered my thoughts on Halloween, Santa Clause, modesty, porn, and more?? Well, you've come to the right place!
In this episode, I share some personal convictions of mine, and I talk about why you DON'T have to agree with me. I hope you listen in and gear up, cuz next week, I'm digging into some politics! Just AFTER everyone thoroughly enjoys their Thanksgiving holidays... right??

Man oh man... That didn't last long!
If you didn't already know, our family started a home church that only lasted about 6 weeks or so... Honestly, I can't even remember the exact time frame that we hosted it! haha Life stays moving forward.
If you don't know the story, or if you know the story but don't know the details, this episode is for you! Thank you to all who stay praying for our family and for those who supported or attended our home church. All for the glory of God!

Verse of the Week: Psalm 103:1-3
Man oh man... It took a lot to get us here...
Mental and physical exhaustion, money, prayer, and we probably shaved a couple of years off our later years too!
Listen in to hear about our London trip, also! We could talk for hours just about that week, but our kids were getting tired of watching TV... weirdos...
Thanks, again, to Austin for recording with me! Fun fact: His microphone was ALL THE WAY UP and mine was SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER, yet you can still barely hear him... I'm not technologically savvy and I did tell him to speak up... so here we are... If he ever becomes a drill instructor, I'm going to have to record with him in that context and see if he's any louder ;) My sweet, soft-spoken, man of few words <3

Man oh man... I finally trapped Austin behind a mic!
If you know my husband at all, you know it took some serious puppy dog eyes to get him to record this with me hahah
For real, though, I love talking to my best friend, and this is a great way to reminisce on good and not-so-great memories, to talk through things we haven't discussed, and to look back on where we were and how it got us to where we are today. Thank you, Austin, for chatting and for agreeing to chat again on here soon :D

Verse of the Week: Joel 2:1
Man oh man... we have to stay on mission.
Especially in today's world, it is so easy to get distracted. It's even easy to get distracted from what you got distracted by! The one, true goal of following Jesus (for us, Christians, at least) is one of the EASIEST things to put to the side in our never-ending list of priorities.
So, today, I'm talking about being a family team on a mission. THE mission. AND DISCLAIMER!! You do NOT have to have kids to be a family! You need only to be husband and wife. Even if you are yet to be married, take a listen and (hopefully) get some ideas for your family's habits, rhythms, culture, and ultimately, your family vision.
Next week, Austin will be on the mic to finish recapping the past year with me! Yay!

Man oh man... we're almost caught up...
Well, maybe not... A lot has happened in the past 10 months! Like a LOT! This week I am covering the few short months of Gabriel being born (Sept 2023) until Austin came home from Syria (December 2023). Next week, I'm going to post my Family Teams on a Mission episode, and then Austin WILL be on the mic to finish recapping the past year with me.

Maybe you noticed, or maybe you didn't... I posted some messages that I shared at our home church a few months ago, and now I'm officially re-launching the podcast in its traditional manner! I'm super excited to be back behind the mic, to welcome some guests soon, and to share anything God gives for me to share... all here from Germany!

This is the SECOND part of Revival In Your Parenting. If you haven't listened to the first three episodes in this season, you may want to listen to those first so that this message is in the correct context :)
This is the third week of our Family Series. If you haven't listened to the last two weeks' messages, listen to those first so that this message is in the correct context.
This is the second week of our Family Series. If you haven't listened to last week's message, go ahead and listen to that first so that this message is in the correct context.
We are using Colossians 3 and Ephesians 5 to apply the four principles we discovered last week in Chronicles 7, specifically relating to our marriage.
Man, oh man... We're back!
I will do a formal re-introduction episode here soon, but for now, I have some teachings that have been on my heart to share. I shared them at our God-led (albeit short-lived) Home Church here in GERMANY (Yeah! We live in Europe now!), posted them on YouTube, and now I'm posting them on this here podcast.
It feels so good to be back :) I love you guys.
Man oh man... we should really lean on God more...
Lemme tell you. God wants you to hear this episode... Satan does NOT!! I had quite a few technical difficulties with this episode. Helicopters literally right above my house, static in my microphones from who knows what, it was just a lot! So be sure and LISTEN! :)
Thank you, Sweet T for joining me on the pod! We miss you, but we'll see you again in ONE WEEK! Woooo!

Shout out to Lukey who, sweet thing, has allergies BAD this week... and coughed while I was recording the music for the intros and outros at 10pm the night prior to posting because #MomLife !!! hahahah If that doesn't sum up my new life, I don't know what does!

Man oh man... This is the season finale!
That's right! Thirteen episodes later, we are going to take a month off (at least), but we'll be back for season two!!! It has been such a blast starting this podcast up, and such a blessing, so we aren't going anywhere... except the labor and delivery section of the hospital! hahaha Be sure and go back and listen to any missed episodes, and listen to this episode for my thoughts, hopes, dreams, and anxieties going into life with THREE UNDER THREE!

Verses of the Week: Matthew 19:14 and Proverbs 22:6
Man oh man... this is the other side of adoption...
My adoption was a tough and gruesome process, just like most adoption processes are, but it was sunshine and rainbows compared to what John had to live through. Abuse, lies, deception, and years of struggling to find out the truth... this episode is going to share just a little bit of John's struggle.
Thank you so much to John for 1) being an awesome Grandpa to my kids, 2) cooking us nearly every meal during your visit, and 3) being on the podcast and sharing your story! It is such an honor to have such a raw and real testimony shared through this show.

Man oh man... my kids are growing up WAY too fast!!
In this episode, I give a little update about the kiddos, and they join me on the mic for the first time! It is interesting, to say the least, especially since Austin was in the field all week, so in the main part that I record, they are home! And interrupting hahaha

Verse of the Week: Romans 1:16
Man oh man... God is SO GOOD!
In this episode, I'm getting vulnerable. If you know me, I'm an open book when it comes to how God grabbed me up outta Hell. He's done so much for me that I never deserved, and one of the ways He worked in me is through therapy. I am specifically talking about my journey through depression in different stages of life and how I worked through and grew out of that over and over again. Thank you to everyone who reached out and requested this podcast specifically! If y'all ever want to hear something specific, just let me know. :)

Man oh man... My parents ROCK.
Here's the second part to my adoption story! If you haven't listened to the first part, definitely do that! It's my parents' story leading up to deciding to adopt. This episode is picking up from that point and through the adoption of my sister and I.
Thank you so, so much to my parents for telling their story so openly and lovingly... and for adopting me! hahaha

Man oh man... My parents ROCK!
In case you didn't know, I'm very adopted! I love my adoption story, and I think it sheds a lot of light into a seemingly dark place for everyone involved, so I couldn't wait to share this. Be sure to tune in next week for part two when they tell the rest of the story! You'll be shocked at how awesome our God truly is!!
Thank you to my parents who were really supporting me in not only the podcast, but literally physically supporting me the entire week of the holidays as we all took turns being sick, but I stayed sick the whole time!! This was my first ever recorded episode, and I really wanted to be able to record in person with my family, but I was getting over being sick, so I'm sorry if I sound gross in advance! haha

I want to talk more about functioning with 2 under 2 and go deeper into how I have made it so far (depression and anxiety and all that fun stuff I talk about in this episode), but for now, this is kind of like an introduction into this part of my life! I hope y'all enjoy, and if you want to know more or agree or disagree with anything, let me know on Instagram or by messaging me :)

Does anyone else appreciate the White Christmas reference?? No?? Well... it's snowing here every other day, so I guess I'll appreciate it alone! hahaha ANYWAYS
Thanks, once again, to Austin for being on "the pod"! Anyone that knows him has probably not ever heard him talk so much in one sitting hahaha. I love this man, and his love for serving a country that doesn't always love him back never ceases to amaze me. :)

Man oh man... I canNOT do it all!
If you've known me for any amount of time, you know that I stay busy and lead a super crazy lifestyle... Well, that hustle mentality is out of the door as of the past few weeks. I'm over the burnout, the exhaustion, the mental cloudiness, the chaos!!
So, if you're one of the many people that has ever told me, "wow, you can't really do it all", "how do you balance everything?" or thought that I was handling it all "so well"... this episode is for you.

A BIG thank you to Jim and Pam Stockdale for helping me get this podcast off the ground from day one. Verse of the Week: “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” - Romans 8:38-39 (my favorite).
