Disciples' Quest
Disciples' Quest aims to help its listeners explore The Bible and develop a deeper understanding of living God's will for our lives. Our goal is not to present information from a perspective of teachers, but to walk with each other in discussions and knowledge building. Through sharing our own quests as disciples, it is our hope that other Christians will be blessed and inspired to learn along with us.
We will be going through the bible, having guests and discussing issues that are relevant to Christian life today.
Welcome to our season three final! Today we look at Romans 5:12-21 in which Paul compares Adam and Jesus. While Adam's actions brought sin for many, Jesus' sacrifice brought free grace for all. It is only through Jesus that we are made right with God.

Romans 5 verses 1-11 is discussed as we look at what Paul had to say about salvation. It is an amazing thing that God, who is perfect, would send his son to die for all of us unholy people. God’s grace is something we need to rejoice more about.

In this episode of Disciples' Quest, Romans 3 verses 21-31 are discussed. The main topic is how salvation is through faith and not by works. You can be saved by works, you'd just have to be perfect for your entire life. The only way to salvation is through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Praise God!

Today we read through Hebrews 12:14-29 In which we learn that sowing the seeds of sin can give birth to problems in the church. To solve the issue, you need to stop the sin at the root. The writer of Hebrews uses the example of Esau to illustrate what sin does to a person's life and having no repentance for their actions. God is stated to be a "consuming fire" that leaves behind only what is lasting in the end. The kingdom of Heaven cannot be shaken. There is also an illustration of the differences between Mount Sinai and Mount Zion. The writer uses these differences to demonstrate the contrast between the old and the new covenants.

13 For when God made the promise to Abraham, since He could swear an oath by no one greater, He swore by Himself, 14 saying, “indeed I will greatly bless you and I will greatly multiply you.” 15 And so, having patiently waited, he obtained the promise. 16 For people swear an oath by [m]one greater than themselves, and with them an oath serving as confirmation is an end of every dispute. 17 [n]In the same way God, desiring even more to demonstrate to the heirs of the promise [o]the fact that His purpose is unchangeable, [p]confirmed it with an oath, 18 so that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to hold firmly to the hope set before us. 19 [q]This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and reliable and one which enters [r]within the veil, 20 where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.
In today's special episode, Justyn and Emily sit down with Pastor Randy B. Leavitt, a Pastor of People's Full Gospel Church, of 30+ years.
He was ordained in 1974; and for more than forty years has been engaged in active and anointed ministry, pastoring in several churches in Canada. He has travelled abroad preaching in England and Wales, represented his larger Fellowship (The Apostolic Church of Pentecost) as District Director for a number of years, and represented them in international congress both in Africa and Central America. For two decades and counting, he has also served Winnipeg's inner city as Chaplain of The Salvation Army Centre of Hope.
Pastor Randy has published his first book: “Sunday”: a pastoral reflection on Sunday's Son; and, has been honored with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal in recognition of his pastoral care in his inner-city ministry.

In this episode we talk about Hebrews chapter 3, this chapter describes Jesus as being greater then Moses, he describes him as being the creator of the universe, the builder of all things. The builder of the house and the house being his followers. So we should not let our faith fade away, less we not enter into the rest of God's perfect grace.

In this episode of Disciples' Quest we go over the second half of Hebrews chapter two. We talk of how Jesus humbled himself and became lower then the angels. He suffered for all of us so he could become the perfect vessel to die to save us from our sins. He took the power of death away that the devil yielded. We learn that Jesus refered to us as brethern, that because he came down from heaven he was able to experience the same things as us and relate to us like family. He became the perfect Captain of Salvation; leading the way for those who are lost.

I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
14 Yet it was good of you to share in my troubles. 15 Moreover, as you Philippians know, in the early days of your acquaintance with the gospel, when I set out from Macedonia, not one church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving, except you only; 16 for even when I was in Thessalonica, you sent me aid more than once when I was in need. 17 Not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that more be credited to your account. 18 I have received full payment and have more than enough. In today's episode, the team look into Philippians, reading verse 19-30. We discuss Paul's willingness to spread the Gospel with Boldness and without fear, and how is it that us as disciples can also share the Truth in similar boldness, but keeping a kind heart as Christ had.

The Whole Armor of God

Bondservants and Masters
5Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ; 6not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, 7with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men, 8knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free.
9And you, masters, do the same things to them, giving up threatening, knowing that your own Master also is in heaven, and there is no partiality with Him.
In this ninth installment of our series on Ephesians, we cover Ephesians 5:15-33. We discuss why it is that these days seem to be filled with a tremendous amount of sin and temptation. How can we live daily serving the Lord, and how can we make the absolute most of that time?
Further on we discuss the role of a wife in a relationship, as well as the role of a husband. Great conversation ensues as we contemplate these ideas, and what Paul was really trying to get across in these verses, with the addition of focusing on Christ' relationship with the church.

5 Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; 2 and walk in love, just as Christ also loved [a]you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God [b]as a fragrant aroma.
3 But sexual immorality [c]or any impurity or greed must not even be mentioned among you, as is proper among [d]saints; 4 and there must be no filthiness [e]or foolish talk, or vulgar joking, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. 5 For this you know with certainty, that no sexually immoral or [f]impure or greedy person, which [g]amounts to an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.
6 See that no one deceives you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the [h]sons of disobedience. 7 Therefore do not become partners with them; 8 for you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), 10 [i]as you try to learn what is pleasing to the Lord. 11 Do not participate in the useless deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them; 12 for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret. 13 But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light. 14 For this reason [j]it says,
“Awake, sleeper,
And arise from the dead,
And Christ will shine on you.”

17So I say this, and affirm in the Lord, that you are to no longer walk just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their minds, 18being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart; 19and they, having become callous, have given themselves up to indecent behavior for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness. 20But you did not learn Christ in this way, 21if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus, 22that, in reference to your former way of life, you are to rid yourselves of the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, 23and that you are to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, 24and to put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.
25Therefore, ridding yourselves of falsehood, SPEAK TRUTH EACH ONE OF YOU WITH HIS NEIGHBOR, because we are parts of one another. 26BE ANGRY, AND YET DO NOT SIN; do not let the sun go down on your anger, 27and do not give the devil an opportunity. 28The one who steals must no longer steal; but rather he must labor, producing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with the one who has need. 29Let no unwholesome word come out of your mouth, but if there is any good word for edification according to the need of the moment, say that, so that it will give grace to those who hear. 30Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31All bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and slander must be removed from you, along with all malice. 32Be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.
In this sixth installment of our series in Ephesians, we cover Ephesians 4:1-16. We dive into how it is we can discover God's calling on our lives, and how God wants to use each and evry one of us to further his kingdom, by becoming disciples, and using the gifts he's given us. 1Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, 2with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, 3being diligent to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4There is one body and one Spirit, just as you also were called in one hope of your calling; 5one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all.
7But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift. 8Therefore it says,
“When He ascended on high,
He led captive the captives,
And He gave gifts to people.”
9(Now this expression, “He ascended,” what does it mean except that He also had descended into the lower parts of the earth? 10He who descended is Himself also He who ascended far above all the heavens, so that He might fill all things.) 11And He gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, some as pastors and teachers, 12for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ; 13until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. 14As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of people, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; 15but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, that is, Christ, 16from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.

3 For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles—
2 Surely you have heard about the administration of God’s grace that was given to me for you, 3 that is, the mystery made known to me by revelation, as I have already written briefly. 4 In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, 5 which was not made known to people in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets. 6 This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.
7 I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of his power. 8 Although I am less than the least of all the Lord’s people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the boundless riches of Christ, 9 and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things. 10 His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, 11 according to his eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord. 12 In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence. 13 I ask you, therefore, not to be discouraged because of my sufferings for you, which are your glory.
A Prayer for the Ephesians
In this fourth installment of our series in Ephesians, we cover Ephesians 2:11-22. We briefly discuss the possible meaning behind the emphasis of circumcision in the bible, how God made a consorted effort to emphasize to coalescence of the Jews and Gentiles under Christ' redemption.

11 Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (which is done in the body by human hands)— 12 remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
14 For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, 15 by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, 16 and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. 17 He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. 18 For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.
19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.
In this third installment of our series on Ephesians, we cover Ephesians 2:1-10. We discuss how God's grace far exceeds any other, how his boundless love and forgiveness is even enough for the worst of sinners. Nothing we could do would ever bring us ultimate hapiness or salvation. Only through God's grace we will be saved.

Praise for Spiritual Blessings in Christ 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5 he[b] predestined us for adoption to sonship[c] through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8 that he lavished on us.
