We're excited to welcome Dakota Weiss, renowned chef, to the podcast. Dakota has opened 4 restaurants in New Mexico in the last 2 years and she's planning a fifth!
After being diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2021, Dakota and her partner Rich decided to move to Santa Fe, New Mexico to be closer to her family. Dakota took on the role as Executive Chef at the famed Coyote Café. Noticing the lack of fresh Seafood restaurants in Santa Fe, Dakota and Rich started up Catch Santa Fe Poke Co in the Summer of 2022. Since then they are the Buttermilk Restaurant Group LLC. They now have The Notorious P.O.K.E (Sawmill Market), Frenchie’s Dips and Tots (Sawmill Market & The Railyard), Dakota’s Pop Parlor and Capitol Coal in Santa Fe!

Welcome to our new podcast, "I Love New Mexico."
Bunny has been writing a blog called I Love New Mexico for over 13 years but now she wants to bring it to you via audio medium through this new fun podcast!
We’ll talk with all sorts of New Mexicans – maybe a celebrity, author, and public figure or two, but mostly just locals from your hometown and Bunny's, people who know where to get the best green chile cheeseburger and which books to read and how to find the well-stocked thrift store or raft the wildest stretch of river. Someone who remembers what Albuquerque looked like in the 70s. Where the best powder is on a bright winter day or which part of the Gila has the most scenic hikes. Which used bookstore is the quietest on a summer afternoon.
Some of our guests will be native New Mexicans who were born here all their life. Some will be transplants who can give us old timers a fresh look at this land we love. Maybe we’ll even hunt up a New Mexico ex-pat or two, someone who’s homesick for what’s so special in New Mexico.

After the death of her mother, Emily discovered a half-written novel she had been working on for years. With some help from her mom through a letter and her own conversations, Emily was able to finish the book as well as process her grief in such a beautiful way. Guadalupe Goler was born in Mexico where she spent her youth running around her grandfather's shoe factory in Guadalajara. As a young woman she moved to Santa Fe after a whirlwind romance taken straight from a movie. Guadalupe always had a love for fashion and after the birth of her children, she opened Goler Shoes in downtown Santa Fe in 1984. Goler Shoes is a very successful, upscale shoe store where everyone who enters immediately feels welcome and beautiful. In 2021 Guadalupe published her book "Just 4 Kicks" - a complitation of her blog by the same title.

He first studied at the School of American Ballet at 11 and he became the youngest principal dancer with the New York City Ballet. Jock now lives with his husband Luis in Eagles Nest, NM where he gives back to his community and enjoys a quiet, private life (away from the subway!).

Imagine if you were a perfectly healthy person going about your life, and then one day, out of the blue—wham!—you’re diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer, and told that you may not survive. Would you, in this most difficult of circumstances, find the wherewithal to be grateful?
