The guys are joined by Fantasy Football legend Joe Bryant, founder of Footballguys.com, and one of the forefathers of the fantasy movement. The guys try out a new bit involving predicting the Thursday night matchup. Lane complains about Sport Science for being stupid.
Lane rejoins the crew as they talk about the ins and outs of the Fantasy Sports industry. They cover a little bit of the history of the activity, and the ins and outs of it. They are joined by WNML Sports Animal personality Will West for an interview about his views on fantasy sports. Lane drinks poison. The guys cover concept rules for a new world of fantasy. The ESPN segment "Sports Science" is talked about and ridiculed.
Lane is absent for this week's episode. The guys talk about predictions in general, the absurdity of predictions, and their personal predictions. Courageous's love for the Tennessee Titans is discussed.
The guys take on the issue of hatred in sports. Why do hate, who do we hate, how do we ate, and is it healthy/necessary. The guys will talk about who they hate, teams and athletes etc. The Alabama Crimson Tide get brought up a lot. Lane gives an update on MazdaGate and the guys talk about some of the most outrageous acts in sports hatred history.
Lane, Mark, and Courageous do the impossible and talk about punishment in sports and how that relates to society. The show opens with Lane continuing his rant about car maintenance. The Von Pearson situation is looked at. Hope Solo, and Ray Rice are discussed. Richie Incognito and Ndamukong Suh are compared. Music by SamDay and Tomac.
The whole crew returns this week to talk about the role of media in sport. The show opens with a rant from Lane about his terrible experience with a local mechanic. Courageous and Mark chime in to discuss the absurdity of the 200+ mph crotch rocket. They also discuss the Colin Cowherd ESPN situation and they close the show talking about cord cutters and the future of cable.
Lane and Courageous are joined in the studio by actor, poet, and musician Drew Drake. The trio discuss depression and sports, as well as the general well-being of athletes. They go into more detail regarding cases such as Junior Seau, Kenny McKinley, Ray Easterling, and Dave Duerson. They go into more detail regarding concussions as they talk about the case of Preston Plevretes. Courageous has a hard time saying chronic traumatic encephalopathy. Later in the show, Drew Drake becomes the focus of the episode. He discusses his recent trip to the Southern Fried Poetry Slam, and talks a little about competitive poetry, and how that relates to the rest of the sporting world. He closes the show with his poem about the NCAA and the treatment of student athletes.
Lane, Mark, and Courageous talk about the idea of age and aging and how it relates to sport. Lane opens the show complaining about Craft Beer labels and how they are extremely attractive towards children. Michael Jordan is talked about, and how he seems to be extremely unhappy, even with all the success he achieved. High levels of success at a young age is also discussed. The crew (Lane Shuler, Mark Alewine, and Courageous) discuss the internal struggle, of wanting to win vs. wanting your wallet to win. Mark and Lane open the show discusses fireworks obsessed people, and the idiocy of video taping fireworks shows. They offer their thoughts on the idea of competitive eating competitions, and more importantly, the Nathan's Hot Dogs Hot Dog eating competition at Coney Island. Courageous joins later, and talks a little about Kobe Bryant and the idea of legacy.
Lane and Mark discuss the issue of branding in sports and society. They bring on special guest Scott Campbell from Dixie Landings Radio to discuss the Disney Brand. They also ask about how the Orlando Magic and the Central Florida Knights recent branding efforts. Mark and Lane also touch on the Tennessee Volunteers uniform redesign, and how events such as the Oregon Ducks branding redesign from last decade have effected their position in the public eye.
