The NFL Puddle gives a unique breakdown of the NFL. Not overly qualified, these two enthusiastic British podcast amateurs give you their take on the NFL. A lighthearted look at the NFL by two British guys trying to work out what's going on with football that isn't soccer. Their understanding isn't deep, but it's refreshing and may just give you a different view of an entertaining and exciting sport. From draft to fantasy, it all gets discussed and nothing is sacred as we watch with interest from across the pond.
It's been a long off season and the boys couldn't wait to get back together to discuss the crazy June trades that have both stunned the league and answered some questions that we've all been waiting to know the answer to.
Ralf and Rob got back to the usual features and chose their Pick 6 of best games for the 2026 season.
Two Seahawks games bookend the season and two international matches shine, with particular personal interests being fulfilled.
Then the boys slide effortlessly into the two big trades that split the cap hit on June 1st.
Finishing off the pod the boys talk about their favourite position with Tight End Appreciation, or TEA Time as they like to call it. Mrs Miggins revived the cups and saucers, but there wasn't any time for any biscuits quite yet.
It appears there is a TE revolution in front of us and everyone loves a bit of TEA.

After a short break in the pod, the boys are back together to talk about the 2026 NFL Draft from Pittsburgh.
Ralf and Rob discussed draft strategy and the best analysis from the leagues best analysts.
Teams prioritized positional depth and developmental quarterback prospects like those selected by the Rams and Jets. Analysts concluded the draft was marked by heavy investment in tight ends and strategic roster building. There were runs on wide receivers and distinct lack of depth in running backs.
The Pittsburgh Steelers bungled the ball, and already we're missing Mike Tomlin.
The LA Rams took a grilling for their early QB pick and the weird dynamic after day 1 press huddle. Was there more to this story than we initially thought?
The draft highlighted the rising popularity of the 13 formation and a significant run on tight ends early. Teams continue to find value in later rounds for developmental projects and specific scheme fits.
Schedule Release and International Matches
The boys finished off with a wee look forward to the upcoming season schedule release. It will feature a phased announcement including high profile international games. Excitement builds for matchups in diverse locations including Australia, France and Germany.

Trying to get their heads around the NFL combine and what the heck just happened in Free Agency, our pals got together to talk it out on Friday 13th March.
Ralf's NFL Combine review featured top wide receivers, running backs, tight ends, defensive backs, edge rusher performances, and his pick of the great players flying under the radar.
The NFL Combine saw a historically fast year for wide receivers and running backs, with Brennan Thomas running the fastest 40-yard dash at 4.26, and Kenyon Sadiq setting a tight end record with a 4.39 40-yard dash. Wide receivers Skyler Bell, Evan Coleman, and Aiden Wetchin were cited for having the best all-around workouts, showcasing great athleticism.
Rob's Free Agency Run Down
Quarterback movement included Tua Tagovailoa's expensive contract with the Dolphins and Malik Willis's move to the team, raising concerns about scheme fit and franchise culture. Geno Smith returned to the Jets, while prominent quarterbacks like Kirk Cousins and Kyler Murray remained without a franchise.
Free Agency Trade Bull Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!
The proposed Max Crosby trade to the Ravens for 2 first-round picks collapsed over medicals, leading the Raiders to sign center Tyler Linderbaum for $81 million to protect the young quarterback. Does anyone believe the Ravens, will this come back to bite them in the butt?
The boys also discussed Bengals' surprising inactivity in free agency, despite defensive weaknesses, forces them to now address parity in the upcoming draft.

Battered, beaten and bruised by the Dark Side, Ralf and Rob recorded their Super Bowl pod on Tuesday 10th February.
The boys analysed the Seattle Seahawks' Super Bowl victory over the New England Patriots, praising the Seahawks' defensive performance led by Mike McDonald, the record-breaking six field goals from kicker Jason Myers, and the consistent excellence of their special teams.
They gave flowers to Sam Darnold's elevated performance and the outstanding individual efforts of Kenneth Walker, who won the MVP, and Patriots' Christian Gonzalez, whilst also celebrating Aden Derde as the first British coach to win a Super Bowl ring
They also recapped the NFL awards, including their correct predictions for Matthew Stafford (MVP) and Miles Garrett (Defensive Player of the Season), discussed the delayed Hall of Fame induction of Bill Belichick, and prepared for the upcoming NFL offseason events, including the Combine, Draft, and nine international games.
They're already getting excited for the offseason games and the chance to head to Paris instead of Dublin for the Saints French fantasy.

Recorded on a weirdly quiet Sunday 1st February, no games being played, no Pro Bowl to fill up the air time. Just 2 guys talking about the Championship Games, Coaching Carousel and NFL Awards.
Rob and Ralf discussed the NFL Pro Bowl format, suggesting opportunities for global advertising and comparing it to the NBA All-Star game.
They tried to analyse the LA Rams' playoff loss to the Seattle Seahawks, attributing it to a muffed punt and consummate Seahawks play.
They also dissected the New England Patriots' victory over the Denver Broncos, highlighting the impact of severe weather and the Patriots' coaching abilities.
Then they critiqued recent coaching hires, specifically Mike McCarthy to the Steelers and the decisions made by the Bills. New new news on Coordinators being thrust into the Head Coaching limelight.
Both participants predicted a Seattle Seahawks victory over the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl and offered their selections for several NFL awards, including Matthew Stafford for MVP, Christian McCaffrey for Comeback Player of the Year, and their preferences for Coach of the Year and various Rookie of the Year awards.
As per usual some pod spice to mix things up, with Ralf getting a bit gung ho about the final score of the Super Bowl. Those Pats fans may have to hold onto their breeks.

Recorded on Tuesday 20th January, Just when the boys thought they couldn't be more surprised by the NFL, it all goes off in Buffalo.
Rob and Ralf discussed the NFL wild card weekend, noting a lack of upsets, with Rob specifically criticizing a controversial interception call in the Bills Broncos game that ultimately decided the outcome, which led to the surprise termination of Bills Head Coach Sean McDermott. This blew their tiny little podcasting minds. Nobody is safe. Zac Taylor must be sleeping with the lights on. He's last man standing in the AFC North.
The boys analyzed the Bills' improved running game, the Broncos' offensive performance, and praised Frank Crumb as the "hobnob" award winner; Ralf also praised the Seahawks' dominance over the 49ers and critiqued the Texans' fragmented performance against the Patriots, while both of them correctly predicted the Rams' victory over the Bears despite flashes of brilliance from Caleb Williams.
Rob and Ralf debated the harshness of Sean McDermott's firing and speculated on his next team, with Rob suggesting the Raiders and Ralf preferring the Brown.
Then it was all about their championship game predictions, with Rob backing the underdog Rams and Patriots, and Ralf going against his earlier predictions and choosing the Seahawks and Broncos.
It's almost Super Bowl time and there's no chance that The Chiefs will be there, even if Bad Bunny is the half time show.

Lets' not forget 2 x HC of the Year Kevin Stefanski, where will he go to create new culture? Could it be Atlanta?

Recorded on Thursday 11th December, Ralf flies solo before Rob joins him to put their heads together for week 15.
A one eyed view of last week's games followed by the longest ever 2 minute warning. Just think about that feeling when Patrick Mahomes has 13 seconds and one drive to win the game and how long those seconds felt...
Then, Ralf and Rob discussed various upcoming NFL match ups and predictions, mostly agreeing on the outcomes for several games but splitting their picks for the Chiefs versus Chargers and Bills versus Patriots. Rob selected the Buccaneers, Bengals, Texans, Jaguars, Chargers, Bills, Giants, Eagles, Rams, Panthers, Seahawks, 49ers, Cowboys, and Steelers, while Ralf picked the Chiefs, Patriots, Raiders, Broncos, and Seahawks (but would change to the Colts if Philip Rivers starts).
They also named an unusual play from the Vikings game a "rich tea sandwich" after Ma Fartghing's childhood treat.
Ralf has clawed back some points against Rob and hopes that this week is the same. Is it bad to hope that the Chiefs win??

Gooooooooooood morning Grid Iroooooooooooon!!! Rob and Ralf swapped out their lite beers for cups of tea in preparation for the big one. Super Bowl at the Caesar Dome.
Before they got to that they jumped aboard the coaching carousel to take a peak and the winning and losing franchises with the best and worst picks from the coaching hires.
Who's the weirdest hire?
No, other than Liam Coen, who's the weirdest coaching hire?
Who was Dan Rooney and what does he have to do with Mike Vrabel going to the Pats?
Does Pete Carroll have a painting in his attic, can anyone find a younger 73 year old?
What will DC do once the good guys have all gone and left him in Detroit? Do we think he'll be alright or that Ben Johnson is the right fit for Dem Bears?
Will the stats lie? Will The Chiefs get the 3-peat?
Will anyone be happy that either tea wins?
The Phili fans will be angry whatever.....
Is it almost over??

Rob and Ralf cried into their Cooper Kupps. Its a wrap!! Two teams head to New Orleans.
Ralf and Rob asked the question last week " Does anyone want an Eagles v Chiefs Super Bowl?" But do they??
Dancing Daniels just couldn't find his mojo, the commanders crashed out against an Eagles team we probably haven't seen the best of yet.
There are only 3 certainties in life; Death, taxes and the Bills coming up short in the post season.
Is there a more slimy toad than Pat Mahomes?
Do the Commanders come back better than the Texans did last season?
Who said it would be pretty?
How does the Pro Bowl work? Who votes in the All Pros? Does it make that much difference? Has Mahomes ever been at the Pro Bowl?
Who is going to make a big splash at the Pro Bowl?
Did anybody not get the nod that they deserved?

Rob and Ralf chewed the cud and spilled the tea about the NFL divisional round on Monday 20th January.
Let's not talk about dem Detroit Lions and the mass exodus of training staff. Can they come back next season?
Did the weather get the better of some teams more than others?
Who dares blame Mark Andrews for the Ravens loss?
Did the Rams get too cute with their defensive structure and Barclay open the flood bank?
Should they be called the Kansas City Cheats?
Is Dancing Daniels, the next Mahomes? Lamar? Vick? Chef Russ? Or is he the very first Jayden Daniels?
Can we all say a little prayer for Jalen Hurts and the Major of Philadelphia?
Rob and Ralf are backing the underdogs. Commies to beat the Eagles and Bills to beat the Chiefs. Can we get an away team sweep?
Does anyone want an Eagles v Chiefs Super Bowl?
Ralf and Rob often don't have the answers, but they're chipper to give you their opinion.

The boys are back with the Wild Card Weekend review, takes from around the NFL and focus on Divisional Games. The big boys are about to play.
Is there any hope for the current version of Pittsburgh Steelers?
Why didn't Fields get given the ball when the wheels fell off Russ?
Was it too much to hope that the Chargers would make the Super Bowl in their first year with Jim Harbaugh?
Can anyone other than Cooper DeJean stop King Henry?
Is everyone forgetting that Jayden Daniels is a rookie?
Which losing team can hold their head up higher? Was it the Buccaneers?
Rob and Ralf agree that the Chiefs will beat the Texans and Lions will beat the Commanders, but who will be victorious out of the Eagles/Rams, Ravens/BIlls?
Does the home team really have the advantage. Will those pleasant Phili fans or Bills Mafia make a difference to the win?
Ralf and Rob often don't have the answers, but they're chipper to give you their opinion.

Rob and Ralf had a chat on Tuesday 7th to discuss the fallout from Blue(Black) Monday's sackings.
Last year there were a bunch of coaches in the sack, this year who's left to be pushed out?
What happened to dem Vikes?
Who's big bonus is most impressive?
Where did Rob hide those Oasis lyrics?
Did the right franchises make the playoffs? Which good teams missed out?
Who's winning in the Wild Card Week?
Rob and Ralf agree that the Ravens will beat the Steelers, the BIlls will beat the Broncos and the Eagles will beat the Packers. They couldn't agree on the rest, do you agree with them??
Last week Ralf won out of spite and the boys agreed on 8 of the winners, getting 6 of their predictions mutually wrong. Think you can do better?

Where did the Jags and Jets get game from?
Do dem Footballing Giants really want to win any games anymore?
Which teams are elbowing their way to the front?
What an earth is a Hob Nob, or even a Custard Cream?
Can the boys really get away saying Bourbon like boor-bonn?
After both predicting 14/16 for week 15, who will win out of week 16?

Enjoying the Bye Week, the guys got together to throw their thoughts at the current state of the NFL. Recorded on Wednesday 11th December.
Are the wheels starting to rattle on the Detroit juggernaut?
Is it starting to get too hard to predict the wins and losses?
Which teams have we lost hope for?
Which teams with a losing record can turn the season around and make the play offs?
Should some teams not be trying to make the playoffs?

Rob and Ralf had a truly spiffing time discussing the week 12 games on Wednesday 27th November.
The Chiefs keep winning dirty, but for how much longer? Does something smell in Kansas City?
How the devil do you pick a fantasy team? Do you grab some random names in a hat and then just pick them out to see who you'll play?
Does John get to sit in the front seat of the Jack's station wagon for the year? Does poor old Jim have to take the trash out for another 12 months?
Who picked up the Cleveland snow globe and gave it a good shake?
Has Jameis found his new super human ability? How did he win his first ever snow game?

Is this the good ol' Rope-a-dope from dem Chiefs, or have Buffalo finally learned their lesson?
Could Josh Allen (not Hines) be the new MVP?
Are we seeing the true 'colors' of all of the NFL teams at this stage of the season?
Those poor old Bengals, can they catch a win?
Even when they play well, do the Jets deserve to win?
Now Joe Douglas has gone, who can A Rod blame for the bad vibes?
Woody the Cowboy has been dropped by dem New York Football Giants, where does he go now?

Is Mike Gessiski the best value player in the NFL?
Can anyone stop dem Chiefs? Broncos looking like a speed bump, are they the 2019 Steelers heading towards the playoffs?
Has Kenny Moore started a new game show on local TV?

Can Ralf and Rob love Tight Ends any more than they do?

The boys look back on how they thought the season would roll out and with plenty of meat on the bone, they can take a wry look at how wrong they were and how right the season has worked out.
The biggest question is 'can all the teams from one division make it to the post season?'
Which teams suck and which teams have the rizz?
How can 2 guys with so little knowledge get it right so often?
How can they get things so wrong?
Shooting fish in a barrel? Or dropping in the dynamite? It could get messy.
How tasty is Ralf's hat?

Tight End Appreciation only has eyes for Cole Kmet. Can we please get this guy his flowers?
It's a bit bumpy on the Commanders hype train? Did a wheel fall off in Baltimore?
Sala out, Devante in. Does Mr Rodgers need his blankety?
Did dem Lions show the world the truth about dem boys? Are they really all glitz and spangles, but no guts and glory?
Are we starting to get a playoff picture, or will injuries ruin the pathway?
Can a broken leg make a team stumble on the way to the finish line?
Will it be Trev or Doug who don't get on the plane back to Jacksonville?
If Kevin O'Connell is the Quarterback whisperer, is DeMeco Ryans the running back whisperer? What do they put in their coffee in Houston?
Is Spencer Rattler the odd solution to the Saints woes?
