Do you still have no faith?” 41 They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”

You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbour and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. In Romans 1:21, 23, and 25, the apostle Paul highlights how people, instead of worshiping the Creator, turn to the worship of created objects. This leads to futile thoughts, and darkened hearts. They exchange the truth about God for a falsehood. This is also quite true for a believer who ignores the glory (v23) of God by believing in lies about their worth instead of focusing on God promises for his children.
We are instructed to submit ourselves to God (James 4:7). Psalms 141:2 talks about submission to the Lord. When a believer raises their hand in worship and surrender, they tap into the power through the Holy Spiri similar to what was evoked and encountered at the evening sacrifice in the Old Testament.

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.(Matthew 9:36). And He could bear Israel’s misery no longer (Judges 10:16b)

Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6 “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written: “He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’ Jesus answered him, “It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test'.”
Joshua 14:9 - So on that day Moses swore to me, ‘The land on which your feet have walked will be your inheritance and that of your children forever because you have followed the Lord my God wholeheartedly'.
So the Lord gave Israel all the land he had sworn to give their ancestors, and they took possession of it and settled there. The Lord gave them rest on every side, just as he had sworn to their ancestors. Not one of their enemies withstood them; the Lord gave all their enemies into their hands. Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to Israel failed; everyone was fulfilled.
He did this so that all people of the earth might know that the hand of the Lord is powerful and so that you might always fear the Lord your God.
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.
