Blaze Pro Wrestling continues to invest in their debut show at Diablo Nightclub.

CWE just had their summer party at Lilac Resort.

And Wrestling United is promising something impressive. Fans have supported all the shows and the promotions are living up to their end.

If you were a kid growing up a wrestling fan in Canada in the 1980s, you have a familiar feeling when you hear the words MAPLE LEAF WRESTLING. That was the WWF tv show that much of Canada enjoyed from the mid 1980s until the early 1990s. The history of Maple Leaf Wrestling dates back decades before, to the Toronto booking office of Frank Tunney. Now, Canadian wrestling executive Scott D’Amore is bringing it back. It’s the first major move D’Amore has announced since being relieved of his duties as TNA Wrestling President back in February. Mike Davidson and “The Mecca” Shane Madison recently visited with Scott over a few slices of pizza, and offer some reaction to the huge announcement.

Also, is Davidson agitated or inspired by local wrestling politics? When he announced he was returning to promoting some people were very happy, others were not so much. Mike has started to open up about it, but it’s hard to tell if it’s a bad thing or a good thing.

If you were at Wrestling United’s Summer Splash on Thursday night, you saw a pretty good show from a company that has only had 2 shows so far. Over 350 fans were in attendance and left happy. This week Mike Davidson & “The Mecca” Shane Madison go over everything that went into the event and led to success.

The breakdown of matches and talk about all the personnel in an expression of appreciation. You will get a full wrap up of the event with comprehensive coverage.

It was the first of 3 shows in Winnipeg in the span of 9 days, CWE held their Cruel Summer event featuring the first in ring match of D-Lo Brown in two years.

And this coming Friday Winnipeg Pro Wrestling returns with “I Know Who You Pinned Last Summer”, at the Blue Note Park. That show is sold out.

Also, 82 year old legendary Canadian wrestling promoter Tony Condello recently experienced his first Uber ride. He was a little uneasy but he eventually got in the unlabelled car.

How should wrestling promoters express their appreciation to fans? Recently a promoter made a Facebook status referencing that the rising costs of running a wrestling show, should not be meant by fans complaining about rising ticket prices. This led Mike Davidson to be a bit critical of this promoters mindset. He went on to praise Winnipeg Pro Wrestling who worked very hard to keep their ticket prices in the affordable range for their Rumble at The Burt show in October. Fans should be valued and appreciated at all costs, according to Davidson, and he’s definitely not wrong with that.Wrestling United is inside 3.5 weeks to their second show Summer Splash, and Mike and “The Mecca” Shane Madison aren’t on the same page for who Shane will wrestle. Imagine you go into a thrift store and buy a magazine, and a page in that magazine has a hidden treasure… BeezSheezer Jordan did that, and ended up coming into possession what is probably the earliest autograph that exists from Kenny Omega’s career. It was during his time for TRCW in late 2000 or very early 2001, and has an early version of the Omega autograph. I wonder what that might be worth?

WPW has sold over 500 tickets for the October show “Rumble At The Burt”. Their goal is 1500. Best of luck to them! And “The Mecca” & Mike Davidson debate whether Ricochet is leaving WWE.

WPW is putting their tickets on sale for their biggest show of the year- RUMBLE AT THE BURT with a Presale starting Monday morning at 10am!! And this is a STEAL of a deal, ticket prices start at only $15! The show takes place on October 24th at the historic Burton Cummings Theatre in downtown Winnipeg! Mustafa Ali is already signed to appear.

If Winnipeg wrestling fans weren’t spoiled enough, Wrestling United have “The King of TNA” Frankie Kazarian coming in for their July 18th show, SUMMER SPLASH. Their tickets are on sale now and this is the second show for the company.
But not all great news for Winnipeg fans. Buff Bagwell’s debut for Primos will not be happening on June 20th due to circumstances with the venue.

“The Mecca” Shane Madison has wrestled in one cage match in his career. It was at a spot show in Michigan in 2001.

“The Mecca” is back in studio and he isn’t holding back. The guys discuss a social media post made by a member of the Wrestling United locker room that seemed to call out one of the hosts for comments made on the podcast. The discussion gets slightly controversial and Shane Madison tries to explain why he has no motivation to entertain the author of the post, despite Mike Davidson trying to stoke it up and turn it into something.

Danny Duggan debuted for WPW, and it seemed to shock most everyone in Winnipeg Wrestling. One person who wasn’t all that surprised was Mike Davidson who said “it must be a mutually beneficial arrangement.” A lot of people see this as a working agreement between CWE and WPW. Should lead to a very entertaining and interesting summer.

The three discuss the event, and all the things that went right, what could have been better and even what went wrong. The conversation is insightful and offers an intriguing preview of what’s next for the brand.

Madison and Meez Deez went down to a Primos Wrestling show at X-Cues in Winnipeg called X-ellently Executed. And although they don’t exactly sing the praise of the event, Davidson does admit he enjoyed the show and would buy a ticket again. Primos has Buff Bagwell returning to Winnipeg in late June for events.

Winnipeg Pro Wrestling had the misfortune of having to replace the injured Matt Cardona in advance of their FIGHT AT THE MUSEUM show. They did not disappoint getting one of the best unsigned wrestlers on the planet, former MLW World Champion Alex Kane.

This week, Winnipeg Pro Wrestling took less than an hour and a half to sell out 600 tickets for Fight At The Museum featuring Matt Cardona vs Josh Alexander. And that is an incredible accomplishment for local wrestling. How many tickets could they have sold if the venue was double or triple the size.

Buff Bagwell was featured on this weeks Darkside of The Ring. Mike Davidson has a ton of fond memories of working with Buff from 2002 to 2008 and shares a funny Buff story that Scott Steiner told him in 2005. Buff is coming in for Primos on June 20th at their Grant Park Mall store. “The Mecca” Shane Madison asks if Buff Bagwell belongs in the Hall of Fame?

It’s a very heavy load of news on this week’s BeezSheez Wrestling. It seems pretty near impossible that Vince McMahon will ever be welcomed back in any way, shape or form, to WWE. The details are still emerging but what has come to light is the tarnishing end to a legacy. The guys talk about the sorted affair. Mike Davidson speculates that The Rock could be the next in line to assume Vince’s old post as Chairman of The Board of TKO.

And as we know about Mike he’s always kinda sorta right… sometimes. Will the WWE and TKO be able to turn the page without significant loss of sponsors or damage to their brand?

One person who has never been able to avoid considerable controversy in his career is Vance Nevada. Recently he cut a promo to build up a match that came under intense scrutiny leaving many to question his judgment. It even caused some tension in the locker room, but in typical Vance Nevada form, he goes from having heavy heat to winning the company’s top singles title in All Star Wrestling.

And we have a wrap up session on Primos Wrestling. Wrestlers are quitting, shooting power bombs on opponents, and the same opponent is absolutely no selling the power bomb…. It’s a tire fire of sort, but it leads to an argument between “The Mecca” Shane Madison and Mike Davidson over how successful and credible Primos Wrestling really is.

All Elite Wrestling has announced its return to Winnipeg in 2024 and on April 10th it will be clear just how much momentum has been gained or lost for the Tony Khan owned brand. The BeezSheez crew break down just how the brand has dropped the ball on so much, and Mike Davidson suggests it became much more noticeable when they added more hours of television. Can it be reversed? It doesn’t look too promising.

Primos Wrestling owner Graeme Keam recently tried the idea of leveraging stooges in his own locker room to pass a message to BeezSheez Wrestling hosts. “I don’t want this getting out to rival promoters or those BeezSheez guys… but”. Last November following an unprofessional action by “The Outlaw” Adam Knight, Davidson said “Adam Knight should lay low and wait until he’s welcomed back into the CWE locker room again and work really hard on righting the wrongs he’s done. He should not take the back door and go to Primos Wrestling”. Nearly 1 year later and the Primos Wrestling 204 Champion, Knight is on his way back to CWE. Not bad for a man who was fired and exiled for very unprofessional actions. Mike Davidson, “The Mecca” Shane Madison and Producer Chris weigh in on why this is a nothing story. Knight does not add value as a drawing card in Winnipeg Wrestling.

Shane Madison is back!!! He ventured to Dallas Texas, in preparation for his return to the ring, and in less than 2 weeks he will compete in CWE’s “Rumble To Remember”. Madison has lost 18 pounds during his conditioning and he is fully focused on this in ring return. Though he doesn’t feel he has anything to prove, he’s committed to proving the CWE needed “The Mecca Effect”.

Also, Tony Condello is running a show in November, it’s called “November to Remember” and it’s the night before CWE’s “Rumble to Remember”. Madison questions if it was a deliberate attempt to confuse fans in the marketplace. Something Mike Davidson utterly dismisses. And despite many people in and around the local wrestling scene suggesting there isn’t room for another wrestling promotion in Winnipeg using talent, Mike Davidson shoots that down. Davidson believes more competition means the pressure is on promoters to take it up a notch to stand out. And that’s a good thing.

Primos Wrestling announced a return date at the Pyramid Cabaret. It’s a Thursday in late November. Which just happens to be US Thanksgiving.

In his mid 20’s and running a financially successful call centre in Winnipeg, John Nguyen stepped up and backed a vision presented to him by “The Mecca” Shane Madison, Mike Davidson and Andrew Shallcross. Premier Championship Wrestling was soon born, with mega stars like Eddie Guerrero and The Legion of Doom coming to Winnipeg to entertain huge crowds. But the short lived involvement of Nguyen as the financial backer has never been spoken about in long form. What inspired him to step up and pony up? What was his relationship with the wrestling talent? When did he withdraw from the company? WWE’s (TKO) stock price tumbled big time after it was announced that Smackdown would move from Network TV Fox to Cable TV USA. If you’re keeping score that means Mike was right and Mecca was wrong last week. Enjoy it because it’s rare.

Mike Davidson and “The Mecca” Shane Madison talk big time about Royce’s legacy, and the impact of this injury to his future life. Royce has vowed to comeback. Time will tell but right now fans are just pulling for Royce to recover fully.

Jordan was a young man dedicated to Winnipeg Wrestling and podcasting, died way too young at the age of 25.

Coming off a hugely successful week at BeezSheez Wrestling the boys are back with plenty to talk about. Could Winnipeg be a market both WWE and AEW could go to war over? WWE just set a market record in Winnipeg for highest grossing event in the history dating back to 1986. A well placed source has told Mike Davidson that AEW is due back in Winnipeg in April, leaving the guys to speculate that Canada Life Centre will get a WWE event during the Road To Wrestlemania Tour in February or March.

Winnipeg Pro Wrestling is swinging for the fences with the Winnipeg Goldeyes baseball team. Heavyweight champion Bobby Schink will be throwing the ceremonial first pitch at Mondays game as the Company gets ready to run its biggest event to date Rumble at the Burt this coming October.

If WPW isn’t the very best wrestling company in Western Canada, Top Talent Wrestling in Edmonton has been doing just about everything right. Recently Top Talent signed a distribution deal with FITE TV. One of the top feuds in recent memory, Bobby Sharp vs El Lobo Andy Anderson has been featured on their events.

Is Marty Scurll cancelled in the wrestling business? Or are we about to see one of the great wrestling redemption stories? Primos Wrestling Winnipeg has announced they have booked Scurll to headline against Canadian standout Mentallo. The discussion of this decision is controversial and quite hilarious. Scurll may be one of the most talented wrestlers in the world, but he might be way too hot to handle. Promoter Graeme Keam also booked Marty Scurll for a spot show where the promoter will team with the international standout to take on Robby Royce and ATM.

Mike Davidson is back in studio! The boys talk about AEW in Saskatchewan and more specifically Canadian Wrestling legend Mentallo making his national TV debut on AEW Rampage (seen on TNT in the US/TSN in Canada). Mentallo wrestled Takeshita and had an incredible outing leading Mike Davidson to speculate that he’s in a prime position to get signed. Based on his versatility, Mentallo could slot in anywhere on the AEW or ROH roster.

Saskatchewan saw some sparse crowds for AEW with Regina struggling to get to 2000 for Collision and Saskatoon barely doing better for Dynamite. Tyler Breeze has elected to start taking bookings and the boys speculate that he is a guy who would really be a big deal for Impact Wrestling to sign. Is Mike Davidson wrong? He claims he rarely is but he admitted he under estimated the Samoa Joe vs CM Punk Collision main event a few weeks back.

As a birthday gift to “The Mecca” Shane Madison, Mike Davidson let the regular guest star have his chair and microphone for this episode, while Davidson Skyped in from a remote location. MeezDeez offers up some insightful numbers of just how much market share WWE gobbles up in a week of programming, with Raw, NXT and Smackdown getting almost 3 times as many viewers as AEW Dynamite, Rampage and Collision.

Why has AEW struggled at the box office in Western Canada? With dreadful numbers of ticket sales in Regina and Hamilton AEW has failed to demonstrate enough momentum to keep up with WWE in live attendance numbers.

Kenny Omega was catching heat for dangerous bumps he took in his match with Will Osprey? Omega does today what Ric Flair couldn’t 35 years ago, however, Ric Flair could do what he did 7 nights a week. Both were works of art but perhaps it’s time for Omega to just be the special attraction in AEW.

There is the traditional model where a promotion focuses on ticket sales to meet their budget needs. A sold show, where the promotion sells an entertainment package to an organization and it becomes their responsibility to sell or distribute the tickets. And the third type of show is when promoters do a free show as an exhibition to generate news fans. Broken down, there is a pros and cons to each show model for the fans.

The guys believe that Tony Khan needs to adjust his focus creatively in AEW to establishing a number one babyface contender to work MJF. They really dropped the ball some time ago with Wardlow and need to figure a good option now to make their main event angles better.

It’s a two man show this week as Mike D and Producer Chris breakdown the successful AEW show in Winnipeg last Wednesday. 7300 fans checked out the first non WWE televised event in Winnipeg in decades. Adam Knight, Massive Damage, Donnie Dicaprio are just some of the familiar names to receive “dark matches” on the show. Mike D contends that those weren’t actual tryouts but amounted more to squash matches. For Adam Knight it was his first wrestling appearance since slapping a paying audience member in December.

Producer Chris believes not a lot of independent wrestlers are promoting themselves effectively on social media. Does he have a point?

This week, the argument is whether Eric Rowan is a bigger draw in wrestling than “Big Poppa Pump” Scott Steiner. CWE has Rowan debuting in Winnipeg in late March. Clearly Davidson was going off half cocked!

Very few can pull off ranting and raving better than Mike Davidson, and 3D Pro Wrestling in Winnipeg gave plenty of ammo to get him started this week. 3D is promoting an entire show of “death matches” without a wrestling ring and that has prompted Davidson and Jeez Weez (Mecca Shane Madison) to sound off on everything that is wrong with this idea. To say Davidson is pissed off might be an understatement.

Somehow Tony Khan was voted “Booker of The Year” for 2022, and that also seems to leave Davidson in a state of bewilderment.

For the first time in '23, Mike & Producer Chris are joined by Mecca Shane who has been missing in action since Christmas time when he left for Mexico. The topic of discussion is Mike & Mecca’s reflections of working with “The Total Package” Lex Luger in 2005 and Marcus “Buff” Bagwell from 2002 through 2008. For the last quarter century the name Scotty Mac has been synonymous with the best the British Columbia wrestling scene had to offer. Not only gifted with in ring talent, Mac also helped build ECCW into one of the best wrestling companies in all of Canada. In the last few years however, the speaking out movement has left Mac much maligned and his company in a state of inactivity. Not shying away from the situation, and willing to speak openly and honestly about everything, Scotty has joined Mike Davidson and Producer Chris and doesn’t hold back, even with toughest and most direct questions. With Producer Chris ailing and contagious, Mike Davidson is forced to call into the show and the discussion that ensued might shed a lot of light on rumors around Canadian Wrestling. Chris seemed to lead Mike into a trap by discussing the 4 promotions based in Winnipeg striving to make their mark. Canadian Wrestling’s Elite, Winnipeg Pro Wrestling, Primos (Deer Lodge) Wrestling and now the returning 3D Pro Wrestling are all promoting events. 3 out of the 4 are drawing sell out crowds in their home venues. So naturally Chris gets Mike to point out one very positive thing about each and one negative about each. That also led Mike to discuss how impressive it is that the promoters can draw these kinds of crowds when there is plenty of shared talent and no exclusive wrestlers.

In the next segment, Producer Chris takes Davidson to task on the perception that Mike has a reputation of being “opportunistically honest”. Mike seemed off put by the question but did offer a very lengthy response.

We can’t tell exactly if it was cranky Mike Davidson or just very self assured Mike Davidson, but we definitely got an entertaining version of the host. The independent wrestling economy seems to be healthier than ever in many markets, with attendances ranging between 200 and 350 for shows.

Producer Chris and Davidson discuss if wrestler exclusivity would help or hurt that or if it would even be a non factor. The tragic death of Jay Briscoe and the decision by TBS to prevent AEW from airing any kind of tribute was discussed. Davidson believes the Briscoes were just about to have their best earning years.

The biggest story in 2022 was the retirement of Vince McMahon. The only person who could possibly out do that spectacle in 2023 is none other than Vince McMahon. On Wednesday December 28, 2022 the Winnipeg wrestling community lost a builder who was directly responsible for a lot of wrestling fans first memories of a first live show. Bob “Doc” Holliday was the WWF/WWE promoter for decades and was instrumental in bringing some of the biggest stars to town. Tony Condello joins the show to share his thoughts and memories of his longtime friend.

Mike sampled the Jay Gagne creation, Main Event Munchies. According to Mike these pretzels are as good as anything on the market, support local.

In the wrestling business the term “Card Subject to Change” is a way promoters cover their ass when an advertised attraction doesn’t appear. On this edition of The Total BeezSheez Show, Darren Metselaar stands in with zero notice and does not disappoint. Debating with Mike Davidson about if Winnipeg is “the Chicago of the North” or just a flash in the pan. Stryker retorted that you can’t compare AEW at the Canada Life Centre to Deer Lodge Wrestling (Primos). The career of 27 year veteran Adam Knight has had its share of amazing highs. Appearances as an extra for WWE, being booked in Japan for Tajiri’s Smash promotion, and being one of the top stars in the Central Canadian Wrestling territory. But now his future is at best a very cloudy subject. BeezSheez’s Mike Davidson knows as “The Outlaw” Adam Knight as well as anyone. The two entered the wrestling business at the same time in 1995 and worked extensively together until 2007. Few can offer more insights into the career and behaviors of Adam Knight that could lead to his cancellation. On December 16th, Knight was involved in a physical altercation with fans he would later refer to in a social media acknowledgement as “special needs spectators”. Video of the incident speaks volumes. This has led Knight to commit to taking an extended leave from the wrestling scene. No one person has had a greater impact over the culture of the Winnipeg Wrestling scene from 1999 until today than “The Mecca” Shane Madison. Upon his arrival to the territory in late 1999, Madison’s influence would immediately enhance the quality of local shows. A firm believer in presentation being a key fundamental, Madison’s commitment to being in the gym, tanning and having professional gear helped to elevate the commitment level of other wrestlers around him. From his time with River City Wrestling and then Top Rope Championship Wrestling Madison established himself as a leader.

In 2001, It was Madison who convinced Winnipeg businessman John Nguyen to invest considerable resources to launch Premier Championship Wrestling and hiring Mike Davidson to be the company’s first booker. A few years later, he would again impact the market by introducing Davidson to Jeff Dyck to create AWE which debuted in 2005 with a nationwide Pay Per View broadcast. His in ring career included drawing some of the biggest crowds to local shows in hot angles with TJ Bratt, Mike Davidson, Chi Chi Cruz and Will Damon. “The Mecca” Shane Madison was a true main eventer. Often falsely cited as a locker room politician, Shane Madison offers a candid and honest interview where he tells it like it was and is. A key influencer over Mike Davidson’s promoting career and later Danny Duggan’s career as promoter of Canadian Wrestling’s Elite. In addition to the Madison interview, Mike Davidson shares a wrestling promo he believes rivals the quality of “The Outlaw” Adam Knight. Greg was candid with Mike and Chris sharing stories of the glory days of his tag team with Jim Brunzell, when The High Flyers faced the likes of Bruiser Brody & Stan Hansen, The Road Warriors, and Ray Stevens & Pat Patterson. Davidson asked Greg about the 1986 rap video hyping the Wrestle Rock Rumble. The event went on to draw an impressive 23,000 fans. Greg also reflected on being the creative genius behind The Midnight Rockers, after he recruited a kid from Kansas City named Marty Jannetty a dude from San Antonio named Shawn Michaels. The team went onto incredible success in the AWA although they may have been a lot to handle before evil Vince McMahon lured them away to the World Wrestling Federation.

Mike has a critical assessment of Wardlow vs Orange Cassidy; how could some guy dubbed "Booker of The Year" by Dave Meltzer book the top mid-card babyface against the main event babyface in a match that didn’t impress and did nothing for either guy? Davidson Calls It, In Literally After taking a one week holiday, Mike Davidson joins the show from a remote location on the phone with Producer Chris in studio.

Is Davidson laying low because of heat after he said “Outlaw” Adam Knight cut one of the worst wrestling promos in history? Absolutely not! Davidson doubles down on his criticism and offers reasons why Knight needs to be produced better to be a more effective talent on independent shows. Davidson goes as far as to offer advice on what gimmick a repackaged Adam Knight should try. For all of those who believe this is the beginning of a wrestling angle, absolutely not, Producer Chris Maxwell believes it is 100% shoot. Knight & Davidson have a storied 27 year history and it’s been way more negative than positive.

We get more of the story of the development of WFX in 2010. In episode 10 Davidson shared what he was told his budget would be, an astounding $2.25M over 3 years to develop a television wrestling league. In this instalment Davidson shares how the rosters came together and that his initial first target for the roster was the late Samoan great Umaga. However his untimely passing led to Davidson pivoting and building the company around Billy Gunn. It’s a fun segment and tons of insight of how the roster was constructed.

Ohio Valley Wrestling is working on a deal with Netflix. How does that affect the middle tier wrestling companies in the United States. Chris and Mike discuss OVW, Impact, NWA, MLW, ROH and which ones have the best chance to explode.

Arik Cannon shocked the wrestling world when he announced he would run only the second ever wrestling show at Mall of America in Minneapolis. The first event held there was the historic premiere of WCW Monday Nitro on September 4th, 1995. 27 years and 6 days later Wrestling returns when F1rst Wrestling Presents Saturday Nitro Nitro! Saturday night, September 10th. Cannon also shares what it took to put a show of this magnitude together, the challenges and what fans can expect in attendance. In 2004, Cannon wrestled against Bryan Danielson and he recounts how that match had a lasting impact on his career.

Mike Davidson and Producer Chris start what will be a lengthy series discussing the 2010 run of Wrestling Fan Xperience. On this edition Davidson talks about his initial meeting with Jeff Dyck and their early working relationship. How did the vision of WFX come together? Wrestling economics- Davidson has been critical of the ticket price for independent wrestling events. Despite his belief a wrestling show should be priced comparable to a movie theatre ticket, maybe he’s wrong, and has update his numbers to reflect inflating costs for wrestling promoters.

Also, a 27 year wrestling veteran has cut the worst wrestling promo in the history of wrestling. Mike Davidson calls out the culprit and critiques his effort. This promo was so bad it made Jeff Farmer look like The Rock.

Mike Davidson breaks a rule right off the start of the show. Promising to focus on independent wrestling and the economics of it, and ways wrestlers, promoters and fans can improve it, he goes way off on a tear. Davidson is highly critical AEW owner Tony Khan and his recent outburst and attack on Eric Bischoff. Davidson believes it could be an angle set to climax at Starrcast in July, but either way thinks it is stupid, counter productive and makes Khan and the AEW brand look bad. Producer Chris welcomes in fellow podcast host, Scott Mason from the Play Like A Jet podcast based in New York. Scott is a huge wrestling fan, who watched original episodes of WFX OVERLOAD on America One on Friday nights in 2010. Stanton started promoting River City Wrestling back in 1993 and was instrumental in launching the careers of Vance Nevada, Adam Knight, Rob Stardom, Shane Madison, Will Damon, Donnie Dicaprio and countless others.
