Welcome to Ep29 of Built to Scale.

I'm really excited today because our guest, James Hipkin is the founder and CEO of Inn8ly, which is a website development tool.   He brings the fire today.

There are three things in particular that I think you're really going to love about this episode:

  • Using your current capabilities and resources to expand your business in innovative ways.  This is really all about looking at your current business, where the opportunities in the marketplace are, and marrying those two things.  And he has a really unique approach that I think you're going to really love.

  • Staying client-centric, and how that's important not just for growing your business in terms of marketing, but also retaining your business.

  • Adding another avenue in your business or another offer in your business in an intelligent way. And this is something that I see a lot of entrepreneurs struggle with. So I dove into that a little bit deeper with him about how he was able to launch a secondary offer so successfully, and he gives us the number one strategy to make that an inevitability and it's going to blow your mind what it is.

How to Create Leadership-level Content

Today we're talking about one piece of advice: stop being a content consumer and start being a content creator. And not just any content creator, we're gonna be talking about Leadership-level content.

This is going to transform the way you approach your content. Leadership-level content is content that is basically the rallying cry to your community. It's the content that becomes a banner that you put out in the marketplace, allowing people to come and join you, building a community around this content.

It is difficult to make this type of content. It takes courage to make this type of content. So I think it's helpful if we talk about the different levels of content you can make to help you kind of wrap your head around and imagine how you can use Leadership-level content in your marketing strategy for your business.

The Three Levels of Content

So I like to classify content into three different levels.

“How to” Content

The lowest level, the easiest to make is "how to" content. This is like if you've ever done a search on YouTube or Google, and said, "How do I update my LinkedIn profile," for instance, and found a video or an article that walked you through it.

The internet is swimming in "how to" content. It is the easiest to make. It is the easiest to find. And this is probably where you and 90% of your competition are living right now in terms of messaging.

Results-oriented Content

The next level up is the "why" or results-oriented content. So this level is about connecting to why we do things. Like saying, "Hey, here's my service. And this is why you'd want to use this service." We're talking results and ROI which is better and more engaging than most people are doing. But it's not quite the top level of content yet, which is Leadership-level content.

Leadership-level Content

Leadership-level content is content that really connects with your audience and drives action. And it's something that you can build a community around. It's something that drives identity even. And if you want to look at great examples of this, we could pull out examples from all sorts of different industries. Though it may be overused as an example, Apple is the epitome of this. Apple uses this type of content all the time when they talk about being creative. We could look at tools like ClickFunnels with Russell Brunson talking about being a funnel hacker, right? That's Leadership-level content for his tribe.

We can look at civic leaders like Martin Luther King, Jr. talking about equal rights for all races. These are ideas that can change the world, change an industry, and help people take their businesses and lives to another level.

Client retention is the unsung hero of business growth.

Imagine yourself walking the wrong way up an escalator. Every time you make a sale, you're taking a step up. But every time a client contract expires or a client stops working with you, you will start moving backward.

And if you're losing clients just as fast as you're making those sales, you will either remain standing in the same place or keep moving backward.

In business, your goal is to retain more clients. Because when you do, you can grow more easily and be more profitable.

Can you imagine your business retaining clients so well that they stay with you and continue to pay for your services? All you have to do is make one or two sales a year, and you grow by about $100,000. That is the power of client retention.

Client retention, however, is not a guarantee of $100,000 a year. I'm trying to tell you that there is so much opportunity in client retention, making your sales and marketing much more effortless.

This is why a client success system is essential to have. It is the perfect solution for successful client retention.

As you grow, you cannot provide service to every single client, plus do the marketing and the sales of your business. You may think you can do it, but you don't have the time.

The client success system's goal is to enable your business to grow past you so you can reclaim your time and at the same time, guarantee your clients the results that they have been promised.

In Ep25 of Built to Scale, Craig Severinsen answers this question for business owners: How do you get quality leads with so many people on social media?

This is a subject that many people are talking about, and this article will guide you so you can do this effectively.   All of us are busy, and we want a quick fix. We all want results. And if you want to get the very best clients from social media, you must put in a lot of work. And you have to do it consistently!

What is your goal with social media?   This is where we always start.

Craig gives you a mindset shift that will help you attack social media better:  relationship marketing.   Social media is all about building relationships.

However, most people don't know how to show up on social media and create meaningful relationships or how to convert these relationships into paying customers.

This episode dives deep into how to accomplish this and scale your business.

Welcome to Ep24 of Built to Scale!

In this episode, we've got Angie Callen of Career Benders on the show.

Angie and I first met at Social Media Day in Denver this year, where we were both speakers. And it was really funny, because as she was speaking, I was just like, "Holy cow. Yes, exactly." She was saying the things that I always think and say about LinkedIn. When we connected afterward, she said the same thing to me about my presentation.

So there's so much gold that she brought today that I really want you to pay attention to. And in particular, three things:

  • We talk a lot about growth versus scale, and how she is actually in the transition right now, between growing her business and putting those systems in place to scale. So she talks really specifically about the things she's doing to make that shift, which I think you'll find really valuable.

  • She talks about being just the right amount ahead in your business. For instance, hiring that employee or taking that next step, just right before you think you're ready. She says you need to do it 25% before you're ready. And she goes into detail about how she's applying that in her business.

  • Using goals a certain way and not using your goals like a laser pointer where you're so focused on it, that you miss the other opportunities. Use your goals as a compass, so that you can find other opportunities as you're moving toward them.

Okay, so that's what I got for you today. Let's dive in.

Today we're talking about how to build your brand in a way that positions you as the go-to expert in your industry or specific niche. Let's start by answering why building your brand around leadership and expertise is so important.

There are 3 foundational items that your business needs, which I teach in the Built To Scale Framework.

  • A Hyper-Focused Niche
  • A Scalable Package
  • Expert Positioning

These foundational items are necessary for every single business to grow successfully. Here's why:

1: When you position yourself as an expert in your industry, you can confidently raise your rates and be profitable. And if you want to be profitable, you've got to be charging an amount that makes sense to grow your business financially.

Most often, we're not charging enough to reach our financial goals or to be able to employ people and pay for the services we need.

2: It changes your sales process from an outbound marketing strategy to inbound marketing. This strategy involves you teaching the marketplace. You're doing things that give value to your audience, like writing books and speaking at a conference.

These things build your name and reputation. And when people see your value, they are naturally drawn to you. And that makes your sales process a whole lot easier.

Another good reason is that it also makes your sales process cheaper because you don't have to pay to look for clients. It also converts more people quickly. And that is huge, right?

3: You get more reach, which you can leverage as you position yourself as an expert. When you reach more people, you will get more results with the same amount of effort.

And if you want to grow a 6-7-figure business, you should have these foundational pieces.

Grow Your Business by Guesting on Podcasts Today we'll talk about everything you need to know to be a guest on podcasts and how to leverage that to build your brand, grow your business, and land more clients.

The Power of Small Audiences Why is this approach of guesting on podcasts such a great strategy?

Think of it this way: let's say you went to a networking event, and you were able to share your expertise with around 10 people in the audience. If we think of it, 10 people is a small number, and it's not a big deal.

Imagine going to a networking event once or twice a week every month. Over a year, you'd probably be reaching around 500 to 1000 people. Now that's huge!

And this is how podcasts work. You start with small audiences. But as you continue guesting on other people's podcasts, you increase your reach to a new level.

So if you're asking, can you get big on these podcasts?

The answer is YES. But you will have to show up consistently, even with a small audience.

And if you deliver a clear message and a consistent call to action, those small groups of people will add up and produce significant results.

You grow by borrowing other people's audiences, and we're going to do it one small audience at a time.

How can a podcast grow your business? Expert Tip: Be consistent with your message and call to action

Many people tell me, "I've guested on other people's YouTube channels… I've guested on podcasts before and didn't see anything from it."

The how-to stuff is a great starter topic. But if you want to engage your audience so that they come to seek you out, you have to take your content to the leadership level.

This is where you talk about your vision that people can rally behind and get excited about, making them want to learn more.

So you have to be consistent with your content, from how-to content to what I call the leadership level of content.

If you want to know more about leadership-level content, you can visit my YouTube channel because we have trainings and videos for that.

Another thing you want to be consistent with is your call to action. A clear and specific call to action is all you need to start seeing results.

If you want more support around your podcast, and if you want to convert clients through podcast consistently, this is what we do every single day with our clients inside the Built to scale program. We work with companies, helping them get the right systems and foundations to scale and have the lifestyle they have always dreamed of.

Welcome to  Built to Scale.

Today we've got a really exciting interview for you.  Our guest, Ryan Peck does a lot of stuff from healthcare and benefits to coaching and consulting around organic outreach.

There are three things, in particular, I want you to look out for:

We dive into cold outreach and the importance of building relationships, rather than your typical spray and pray approach, which feels really bad.  He talks to us about how he makes sure that it is a good experience for him and effective in terms of marketing.

He talks about how a serious health scare really helped him shift his business and his life so that he's a lot happier and also a lot more focused on what he's doing.

How being self-aware when you're overwhelmed or frustrated can help you get through it but also maintain a positive outlook and happiness.

Okay, that's what I got for you.  Let's dive into this awesome episode.

Welcome to the Built to Scale podcast.

Today, we've got a very special guest, Amy Mangueira. She runs the Email Growth Society and I love her outlook on business.

This is a value-packed episode and there are three things, in particular, I want you to look out for:

  • Owning your box or your niche and how when you do, it can really drive growth in your business.

  • The importance of thought leadership and educating people about the value and ROI of your services or your offer.

  • The importance of having a great network.  Amy even gives us some tips on how email can actually continue to grow your network.

This is a fantastic episode.  Let's dive in.

Welcome to Built to Scale.

I'm really excited because we've got David Feldman.  He's the founder of 3 Owl, a full-service creative agency.  And he and I have so many of the same philosophies on basically everything about business.

I think you're gonna really love all the things we talk about in this episode.  He's got a book coming out, called Small By Design.  And it actually is on sale right now.

We dive deep into some of the concepts inside this book.  And there are three things, in particular, I want you to look out for.

Being small by design and how that is a competitive advantage.  I love the story he tells that I think we all can relate to about how when we first get started we pretend to be big, and how that actually hurt us.  And now how you can position that as one of your differentiators.  One of your superpowers.

We talk about abundance.  And what I love about this conversation is that we talk about not just financial abundance but about all the other abundance that your business provides for you. For instance, an abundance of time and abundance of impact.

Building a network of business owners.  How that can help you grow your business, but also how it can help you as an entrepreneur to simply stay sane.

So this is great content. I'm excited for you to check it out. Let's dive in.

Welcome to Episode 17 with Jeremy Duvall.  He runs a company called 7Factor.  I've got to tell you, Jeremy brings the heat in this conversation!  It's so good. So packed with value. This is not hyperbole.  He really drops a ton of value in this.

And in particular, there are three things that I want you to look out for:

The importance of being different.  So, not necessarily trying to be better than your competition, but standing out from the crowd and how important that is for business growth.

Allowing yourself and your business to run the way that's best for you, rather than trying to conform to the way that other businesses are running.  Finding that rhythm and that groove that is best for you, for your clients, and for your staff, in order to just take off.

How Jeremy focuses on relationships rather than deliverables.  In other words, he focuses on the relationship with the client and the relationship with his staff.  And by doing that, the deliverables follow.

That's what we've got in this powerful episode.  So, let's dive in!

This is Episode 16 of Built to Scale and I am super excited because today we have Celina Guerrero on the show.  She helps people build sales teams.  This episode is all about how to make that shift from being a solo pro to CEO.  And in particular, we dive really deep into how you hire a sales team to help you make that shift. And this is such an important part.

If you want to scale your business, and you really want that freedom that being a business owner can bring, hiring a salesperson and eventually building a full sales team is such an important part.

There are three things I want you to look out for in this episode:

Using a human-led sales process to build relationships and find clients.  We talk a lot about LinkedIn and using social selling with that type of process gives you a winning combination.

The critical reason why you need to focus on just one core offer and how doing that will just help you scale very, very quickly.

The critical details to find out if your business is ready to hire a sales team, and if you're not ready, we talked about how you can get your business ready.

So this is such a value-packed episode. I cannot wait for you to check it out. Let's dive in.

Welcome to Episode 15 of Built to Scale. Elysabeth Alfano of VegTech Invest is on the show. And she talks about some really amazing things. Three things I want to point out to you:

  • Managing an email list to sell really high-end offers. And she at one point managed a really big list of thousands of people and was selling very, very high priced things. And she talks about how she did that.

  • How trust and relationships are critical for building your business.

  • How being in front of your industry as a thought leader has really influenced her business and helped her to grow really quickly.

We dive way back into Elysabeth's past, starting with one of her very first entrepreneurial experiences as an art gallery owner. We talked about that whole journey all the way up to today with her VegTech Invest company that she's running now.

It's an incredible journey to see all the things that she has done over the course of her career. And I want you to really think about even though she's in a different industry than you, how you can apply this to your own business because you can find what is your radical difference between you and your competition, and really apply that.

And when you align your message, your offer, your business, and that platform that is different that you really believe in, that's when you really get traction. So there's a lot to learn from her, even though she's in maybe a completely different industry than you're in. I'm really excited about this. Let's dive in.

Welcome to the first episode of Season 2 of Built to Scale.

Jason Croft is taking over as host today on this episode.

He's the producer of the show and taking the reins to dig into some reflections on the first season of Built to Scale, what Craig's doing right now with his business, and then looking forward to Season Two.

This is a "behind the scenes" look at not just the show but also Craig's business and how the two work together.

Just like with the guests we bring on the show, we go past their expertise and dive into how they are actually growing their business.  Craig committed to being completely transparent and open, which is why Jason is doing the interviewing.  Sometimes we're so close to what we have going on that it takes an outside perspective to add clarity and get at the "why" regarding certain decisions.

One of the major shifts in Craig's business that we go into a lot is the power of providing foundations and frameworks for businesses that he works with.  This is Craig's main focus and reason for shifting - making sure that individuals and companies that work with him get those "structures" in place.

Dig into the full episode and take notes!

Welcome to Episode 13!

I'm really excited because we have Angus Nelson on the show from Evolve Men Coaching.

I first ran into Angus at an event and when I heard him speak, it just gave me goosebumps.  I knew that his content was life-changing, so I wanted to make sure I brought it here to you.

He shares so many great insights that I could not even pack them into a summary, but I want you to look out for at least three things:

  • Learning lessons from his own life and dark times he's been through, and how those lessons helped him help more people.
  • He calls himself a recovering graphic designer and tells a story about a time he got busted tweaking something really small, but how that lesson now helps him be more productive.
  • The powerful way Angus discovers his clients' biggest needs and how he can leverage that to not only help his people more but also attract more people to impact.

So, that's the stuff we've got and it's so good.  I'm really excited about it.  Let's dive in!

Episode 12 is here and I'm really excited!

We are with my friend, Gary J. Nix, and he runs a company called The Brandarchist.

What I really love about the subject of branding and finding your voice is that this is how you start putting your sales and your marketing on "easy mode".  When we first start our businesses, it's this weird thing where we don't want to stand out because we're human, right?

So, typically most people build kind of vanilla businesses.  But, as you gain more confidence and as your business grows, you start to understand what sets you apart and what makes you uniquely you.  That is the essence of your brand voice and as you do that, you start to stand out and you start to be different.

That's what this conversation is all about with Gary and there are three things I want you to look out for:

  • How you can treat your business like a skyscraper. So, the example is you wouldn't want to go in a skyscraper if it was built without a blueprint.  Well, your business needs a plan as well and you need a brand strategy.
  • The first step to work with any business of any size (and Gary has worked with some really big companies) is to develop your strategy.
  • How to disseminate your brand message to both your employees and to your potential clients, and why that's important.

So much really good stuff here and I'm really excited to share it with you!

What's up everybody and welcome to Episode 11!

We are talking with Erin Pennings of CopySnacks.  This is a really fun episode where I asked her some questions that kind of made her pause and think.  And the answers to these questions make a really big difference to your business.  Every entrepreneur should know the answers to these questions, by the way.

I love how she stopped and really thought about them, and I love the answers she gave. So, as we go through this, I want you to put yourself in her shoes and answer the questions that I'm asking because they are so important to your business.

And while you're doing that there are three things, in particular, I want you to look out for in this episode:

  • Why clarity is so important to gaining traction in your business. There's a saying I use with my clients all the time:  "Clarity from the founder equals momentum with your clients."
  • The challenge of figuring out what you want to be known for and how vision and passion really play into that.
  • Getting over the mindset blocks that every entrepreneur faces.

This is really good content I'm excited for you to join in and put yourself in her shoes.

Let's dive in!

What is up everybody and welcome to Episode 10!

I'm really excited about this episode because we've got Troy Sandidge on here, and he runs a business called Strategy Hackers.

Troy and I met at an event called Social Media Lima, 2021, where we were both speakers. We just really hit it off, and it turned out that he had been following me for a while on social media and I had been following him for a while on social media. So, we had this mutual fanboy moment where we were meeting somebody that we'd been following for a while and was a really cool experience.

But, what I really like about this episode (and that I think you're gonna appreciate as well) is that Troy and I do not see eye-to-eye on everything. He brings in some different thoughts when it comes to niching down, or how to grow your business. Then I share what I typically would suggest. I think that this gives some good variety. And at the same time, we agree on a lot of stuff so you get to see some different perspectives and you also get to see two people who have been really successful in their business.

So, there are three things to look out for:

  • Discovering the difference between what you're good at and what your superpower is; how to focus on the superpower, not the things that you're just kind of good at.
  • When to help your team out and when to let them "sit" in whatever is going on, so that they grow and you grow so that you can ultimately kind of step back and get your hands off of the steering wheel with your team.
  • Finding that balance between developing your vision and letting the market tell you where your business should go so that you've got that balance between, "I know where I want to take it," and "I know what the marketplace is willing to pay for," and using that to grow your business.

So, really exciting stuff here and a really good episode. I hope you enjoy it. Let's dive in.

What's up everybody this is Episode 9!

Today, we're talking with my friend, Becky Jolly.  Becky lives at the intersection of social media and funnels.  That gives her a really unique perspective on business.  She drops a ton of value here and I'm really excited to share it with you.

There are three things, in particular, I think you want to look out for:

  • Using humor in your marketing and how that can really help you stand out from the crowd. So many people are afraid to use humor.  But, if you add that human element into your business, you can see that your marketing really gains traction.
  • Why it's important to connect with a community of entrepreneurs who just "get it".  Not just for business results, but for your own mental health, too.  It's so important to have a place where you can go and talk about your business and people understand where you're coming from.
  • The trap of vanity metrics on social media and why you should connect your efforts to real business results.

There's a lot of value here.  I'm really excited to share it with you.

Let's dive in.

What's up everybody and welcome to episode eight!

In this episode, we're speaking with Geoff Kullman, who is a fantastic copywriter and storyteller who works with really high-end clients - experts in their fields.

We talked about how he's growing his business and I think you're going to be really impressed by what we cover.  I want you to look out for a few things:

  • Geoff talks about his number one marketing platform for growing his own business and attracting clients.  I think it's going to surprise you what that platform is.
  • The importance of growing your personal brand so that your expertise and authority precedes you in your marketing.
  • Doing things at the right time and how that can make or break your business.

This is a fantastic episode that I'm really excited to share with you.

Let's dive in!

Welcome to episode seven!

Today, we're talking with Kelly Wittman.  I'm really excited about this conversation because Kelly gets real about some issues that really affect a lot of us when we're trying to grow our business.

So here are a few things to look out for:

  • The importance of dropping something that you feel like you should be doing, but maybe isn't serving your business.  There's a lot of pressure in our space to do certain things.  Maybe you shouldn't be doing all of them.  She shares an experience of how she overcame that.
  • The importance of getting quiet.  Why it's hard, but also why it's important.
  • How we can overcome the anxiety of niching down so that our business can gain some major traction.

I'm really excited for this episode.  There's a lot of great stuff in here.  Let's dive in.

Welcome to Episode Six of Built to Scale!

So, I'm super excited about this one because we're talking to my friend, Brittany Dixon.  She runs a company called Brittany and Co.  She's also the host of the podcast, Process for Profit.

What I love about Brittany is that she's all about systems and processes, which is how you go from owning your job, to actually being the CEO of a business, having a team work for you, and being able to have that freedom that we all wanted when we started our business.

So three things to look out for in this one:

  • She talks about the importance of having clarity in her business and how having that vision has really helped her grow.
  • I asked her a really obvious question, but we get some real value and she says that tech is not the first thing you should be looking at when you start building systems.  She gives us what you should be looking at as well as her approach to getting started with systems and processes.
  • We talked about boundaries and how they are so important for raising your rates, hiring staff, and just having a balanced life.

I hope you enjoy it. Let's dive in.

This is episode number five!

I'm really excited about this content because today we talk with a really good friend of mine, Selah Shepherd who runs SMStrategies, a Facebook ads agency. They work with high-level e-commerce brands.

What I love about Selah, and what I think you're going to find really interesting is that she has built this cohesive life out of two very different elements that most people don't think would go together.

She is a competitive horse rider and she runs a successful, thriving Facebook ads agency!  Those two things don't normally go together, but we got a lot of value out of this conversation.

Things I want you to look out for:

  • Selah is operating her business at a really high level.  She's become a trusted adviser to her clients.  She talks about how she's leveraged that to be more profitable and also to scale her business so that she can compete with her horses and run a successful business.
  • How she safeguards her time.  We talked about using your calendar and putting up boundaries so that you don't lose your life to your business, and so you don't lose your business to your hobbies.  She had to find that balance.
  • There's just a lot of talk about the parallels between horses and business.  I think you'll find it humorous and fun, as well as really, really valuable.

So, without further ado, let's dive in.

Welcome to Episode 4!

Today, we've got Suzanne Doyle-Ingram from Prominence Publishing. She is a great friend of mine and also happens to be a client.

What I love about Suzanne is that she not only helps people write and publish their books, but she's actually trying to change her industry. Instead of just helping people write a book and then focus on selling that book (which isn't very profitable), she's actually trying to help people write a book and then teach them how to leverage that book to grow a business.

We start this episode in a very interesting place: talking to her about what I love about entrepreneurship, which is the freedom to do things like travel. Suzanne has traveled all over the world without missing a beat in her business. She talks about how she's done that, the first steps of how to do it, even if you've got kids. She started when her kid was three years old! So, even if you have children, you're going to love what she has to say about that.

Something else to look out for is how she's actually gotten support and interacted with people from other industries to get inspiration and insight on her own business, and how it's helped her grow.

And then the last thing I want you to look out for is that she recently had a huge revelation from a bad client experience where the client actually bought from somebody else instead of her. And instead of getting upset about it, she used that experience to completely transform the way she approaches her business and it's led to some great success for her. It's a really cool story, look out for that.

Now, let's dive into this episode!

Welcome to Episode 3!

Today, we're talking to Alesia Galati, from Galati Media.  She runs a full-service podcast agency.

Now, what's really cool about her is that unlike a lot of like podcast people right now who are just coaches, telling you how to run a podcast, she actually has a full-service agency.  So, she's got a team.  She's got people helping her.  She helps you launch, create, and maintain your podcast.

So, it's a different angle on a really hot tool right now.  What we talked about and what to look out for:

  1. What it takes to 10x your fees.  She went from charging $450 for her services to $4,000, essentially 10x'ing what she charges in just under a year.
  2. How do you bounce back from a client relationship that goes sour?  We all experience it:  some client relationships don't go well.  She used an experience like that to learn and to show up better in the future.  We really dive into that she gets really honest.
  3. How do you decide whom to hire first?  Do you hire your service first?  Do you hire your salesperson first?  We go into her method for doing that.

It's really valuable stuff that I think you'll find really useful.  Let's dive in!

Welcome to Episode 2 of Built to Scale.

Today, we're talking with Ashlee Berghoff.  She runs a business called A Squared Online.  She helps people implement the systems they need to go from being just themselves like a freelancer to a pro running a thriving business being the leader/CEO.

This episode is full of great stuff. A couple things for you to look out for:

  1. The mindset-shifts and challenges that come from building a team.  We get really serious and both share some stuff about the insecurities of building a team that I think are really helpful.
  2. The secret to getting past six-figures.  Re-finding that motivation.  If you haven't reached six-figures yet, you're gonna find this out.  If you're already there, you already know this:  once you reach about that six-figure level, money isn't as motivating as it once was.  So, how do you re-find that motivation to really grow and scale your business?  She shares some great tips around that.
  3. Ashlee shares her number one tip around business and systems and she shared just absolute gold.

Jump in and enjoy this episode with Ashlee Berghoff!

Welcome to Episode 1!

Today, we're talking to Matt Hall who happens to be a current client of mine and he runs a business called Common People.  They make conversion-focused websites for copywriters.

He's a great guy.  And here are some things you're going to want to look out for:

  1. I think the whole theme of this conversation is about taking control of your destiny, and building a life and business by design.  So that is a huge theme during this conversation.
  2. He talks a lot about starting with the goal in mind and how that has affected the way he's been building business, and also how happy he is with his life and his business.
  3. Changing direction. So, even when things are hard, like when you're getting up to a point where you know it's time to shift direction, how do you make those shifts and move forward?
  4. The power of small steps to achieve big things.  He even talks about how you can take different skills in your life and bring them together to create an awesome offer for your audience.

There's a lot of gold in here.

I'm really excited to share it with you. Hope you enjoy it.

Welcome to the first episode of Built to Scale.  I'm really glad you're here.

Why another podcast?  Why another show about business?

What I really want to accomplish here is having real conversations with people.  And I want to give you something that's both entertaining and valuable in terms of knowing that people are going through the same thing you're going through; that they're facing those problems, that they're overcoming them.  So that you feel empowered.  You feel pumped up.  So that you're able to go and accomplish really great things in the world.

Everything I do is all about helping entrepreneurs have a thriving business and live a full life at the same time.  When you get your personal life to a level where you're really happy and it's really a full life, your business also begins to thrive.  And that's what I do every day - I work with clients to help them grow their business with that balance.

So, that's what we're going to be doing.  I'm really excited to take this journey with you. Please tune in and subscribe to the podcast and to the video version of the show on YouTube.  I'm looking forward to seeing you next time on the Built to Scale show.
