This week Mental Health day was marked on the 10th, we recognise mental health problems exist in our lives, families, workplaces and communities impacting everyone. All too often, individuals within the Black community struggle with their mental health and are not willing to talk about how they are feeling. We understand that the key to overcoming the stigma that exists around mental health in that Black community is starting the conversation. Hearing other people’s experiences can really help to reassure others that they are not alone, as well as encouraging people to reflect and unlearn some of the things we were taught about opening up and speaking on how you truly feel.

So its only fitting that in our second episode of our 3-part podcast series our UpSkillers; Ahmed, Ashantina J., Kemi and Kerron delve into the stigma of mental health in the Black community and discuss ways to normalise issues pertaining to mental fitness within our families, communities and the workplace.

So sit back and enjoy this weeks episode, we ask that you continue to hold these conversations within your circles and continue the efforts to de-stigmatise the narrative around suffering from mental fitness.
