I was joined in this episode by Michael (Mick) Burton to discuss all things Mental Health & to find out more about an inspiring challenge he is taking on on the 31st of August 2022 in aid of 3 amazing charities Movember, Irish Cancer Society & Jigsaw Ireland.

Michael came up with the idea of this challenge when he found his love for running, cycling & swimming again throughout lockdown after years of Mental Health struggles & substance abuse. The charities are based around three charities very close to his heart from being a young man dealing with his personal challenges to losing his Grandfather to Cancer when he was just 8 years old.

The challenge itself consists of 32 half Ironmans, in 32 counties of Ireland over 32 consecutive days. His goal is to raise €1,000 per county. You will be able to follow his journey directly on Instagram @michaelniallburton & to make a donation just hit the following link https://www.idonate.ie/fundraiser/11424134_michael-burton-s-page.html

I hope you enjoy this podcast, please give it a share I know it would mean the world to Mick, let's get behind this legend and give him the support he deserves!

What is priming and how can you take advantage of its positive effects? One way to define priming is the act of taking time to adjust your thoughts and emotions so you can live your life in your peak state. Priming is most powerful when completed in the morning to set a productive and powerful tone for your day. It’s also useful for mastering your emotions as it gives you a moment to take a breath and control your reaction.

In this episode, I share some of my personal experiences with gambling. For many people, it's a well know area and for most, it's very unfamiliar.

The story behind the name comes from what it is like behind the scenes of a Gambler, unlike any other addictions like food, alcohol or drugs there are very few obvious signs that someone is a gambling addict.

As I discussed in this episode, any addiction or life struggle is a normal experience of life, we all just experience life in a very different way - but the aim with this episode is if these are so-called normal experiences, why don't we talk about them? why do we feel ashamed to open up?

Encourage each other to open up and let's help normalise the normal.

The Trojan Hemp Co. was founded by Hattie & Ste in Dublin at the end of 2020 with their launch date in June 2021 – They are an innovative CBD start up with a different approach to other CBD brands where they focus on product quality & taste, CBD education & information aswell as customer care & sustainability.

They came up with the name The Trojan Hemp Co. because they believe Hemp & CBD can act as “Trojan horse” to help to destigmatise cannabis and change the way we look after our health and well-being. Hemp/Cannabis is the only plant in the world that has the ability to feed you, to house you, to clothe you and to heal you & they feel that it is a severely misunderstood and underappreciated part of nature.

You can find more information over on their website at thetrojanhempco.com and their Instagram: thetrojanhempco

If you wish to purchase any of their products use the code “MINDMUSCLE15” , to get a nice little 15% OFF!
