It's a season of many gratitude for me because 2022 ended in an anti-climax fashion.
January was really without any expectations but I felt such peace and joy and confidence living from the place of rest.
I'm grateful for many things and for that I'm hopping on this contest, though a little later than I should have.
It's Hive Open Mic week 147 and it's themed Grateful Heart.
I've chosen this song, which was an Instagram sensation around December last year to early January, which demonstrates gratitude in the face of both good and bad.

Hey you, it's me again.
Late but, week 112's theme, traditional/local got me really excited as it gave me an opportunity to showcase my native song and so I couldn't skip.
I'm Nigerian, of the Igbo tribe and I did an abridged version of the song Ada Ada by Flavour, which is commonly played in Igbo traditional weddings.
Ada is a name given to a beautiful girl, especially a first daughter.
I added a little dance because this music and dance are inseparable!😃

Reflecting on the week, this weekend.
Started out with the hype of the new year and somewhere along, some sort of weakness got in which I worked upon in prayers and being intentional.
I spent time today pondering on why I try so hard to be nice to people yet they tell me to my face that they didn't like me when they first met me from a distance till they got acquainted. This baffles me because all I do is try to be friendly, giving a little of myself to everyone to create a harmonious environment.
My resolution, however, is to stop trying and just be myself, they will all come around, they will be fine.
Even while still keeping up with the high spirits, I already made offences this year that just began, can you imagine. it's detailed out in the video.
I was actually moved to tears thinking about it but making it into a video, I couldn't resist smiling into the cam and putting up a good energy.
There's always a song for every mood and for this, it was Human by Christiana Perri.

It's Hive Open mic and my very first participation. I'm summoning all the courage I have to upload this despite having flaws. I wasn't sure if I was to smile, close my eyes, look at the cam or look away from it 😅
The theme is Motivation to achieve and it resounds much in a time like this when people have set a lot of goals and some are already getting weary. Today, I prayed for strength to not give because I was already getting tired from the initial high-ness.
I made a cover of one of my favourite songs, Angels by the wings by Sia, when I need to be encouraged and motivated. The resounding lyrics says YOU CAN DO ANYTHING and thats a reminder to myself that I can achieve just anything I put my mind to.
