Demons, mutated animals, and zombies aren't the only threats to look out for when you vacation at a cottage around the woods. Movies like this go to show that sometimes, the monsters come dressed as ordinary human beings. Be prepared to squirm in your seat with this one as we delve into "I Spit on Your Grave."
Down into the creepy murder basement we go! What could be more scary an AirBnB accidentally double booking a property to two separate customers? I certainly can think of anything. This week's review was recommended to me by Christopher Frost. Good ol Christopher hasn't steered us wrong in the past with his movie recommendations, so lets see if his streak can continue. So, grab a flashlight and let's go downstairs!
Ahoy! Come aboard the SS Bodybag as we travel into uncharted waters with a review of the horror/mystery movie, "Triangle." Shout out to Simon Brake for this recommendation. We were told this was "a trippy movie....an acquired taste." Well, with that bit of enticing promotion, how could we not be excited to check it out? So, pop some Dramamine and put on your life preserver and join us for this nautical review.
It's back to Argentina we go! This week's listener pick comes from Overly Enthusiastic Horror Fan. With a name like that, I imagine he probably knows a thing or two about horror movie recommendations. Seeing as how the last time we delved into some horror content from Argentina was when we reviewed "When Evil Lurks," I expect to be properly frightened. So, does this movie earn the "Terrified" title? Let's see.
In the first of many mini reviews, chosen by the listeners, we start off at the root of horror with a good ol Haunted House movie. Thank you to Matt Linton for the recommendation. Is this comfy 3 bedroom/2 bath enough incentive to tolerate a little light paranormal murder? Well, if you saw the kitchen decor, you'd understand. And the basement is just to die for.

On today's versus episode, get out of our time machine and spend a little time in present day with some horror movies from the 2020's. We get a spin on the vampire genre with the movie, "Abigail" and then drop in on our ol pals at A24 with "Talk to Me." Do either of these two have what it takes to become horror classics in their own right? Let's find out.
This week we dive back into the 80's as we cover two cult classics that could not be more different, first we scale cliffs of insanity and battle rodents of unusual size with the Princess Bride, then we head to the sun drenched, vampire-infested streets of Santa Carla in the Lost Boys. They say that you can't improve on perfection.....well, at least two directors tried. On today's episode of Bodybag Podcast, we're going to see if two remakes can live up to the originals that they derive from. First up...Sam Raimi created a horror classic with Evil Dead. And Evil Dead Rise gave the franchise a much needed jolt of life. But sandwiched in between those two was a 2013 remake, directed by Fede Álvarez. Does it deliver the gore and dark humor of the original? After that, we have the Town that Dreaded Sundown. It's been over 30 years, can the townsfolk finally go out at night? More importantly, does Alfonso Gomez-Rejon give us a decent movie?
This week we bring you a special episode as we perform an autopsy on the Autopsy of Jane Doe, this was supposed to be the first episode of season 6 but because of technical difficulties that audio was lose so we felt like it was time to try it again.
We welcome you to come back to 1978 with us as we view two different films as first, we watch superman and then we watch Wes Craven's TV film Summer of Fear, we will let you know how feel about these films and if they are worth a viewing here in 2025.
Time to get back in our DeLorean and venture to the past in this special 70's versus battle. These movies have everything that defined the 70's: sex.....drugs.....and the antichrist? Up on the chopping block, we got Wes Craven's debut film with "The Last House on the Left." Was he always the meta satirist that we know him to be? And along side that, we have "The Omen," directed by Richard Donner. Can the guy who gave us "The Goonies" and "Superman" also deliver us a good hell spawn movie? Two well known films, but at the end of the day, one has to be declared the victor. Which shall it be?
Join us as we take a trip back to 1939 and view two completely different films in The Human Monster and Wizard of Oz, one film we really enjoyed and the other not so much, you can guess which film or you can listen and see how we rank these two films from the past.

It just isn't Christmas at Bodybag Podcast, unless there's a crazy killer, murdering teenage college kids. We had fun as we reviewed the (admittedly not very good) 2006 version and we cringed as we dissected the 2019 entry...so now it's time to dive into the movie that spawned them both. Not only does Spirit Halloween give you decorations and outfits at affordable prices, but apparently it gives you enough content to make a "Disney channel original-esque" style Halloween movie for the family. Much like the store itself, this movie kind of just came and went. But we grew up on Disney originals from the 90's, so maybe this movie was just the right amount of goofy and whimsical to poke our nostalgia gland. I said maybe.... But if you still want your fill of R-rated horror, Brokewriter Dave and Chris Thomas also give their mini-reviews of "The Last Broadcast" and "Z" respectively.
In the last movie review of the season, we are reviewing one of Chris's favorite movies and a horror classic John Carpenter's The Thing.
It is time for the final battle of the season with found footage films, Dave choose The Poughkeepsie Tapes and Chris choose Cloverfield, who will win this battle.

Sometimes you don't want your horror movies locally sourced. Sometimes you want to be terrorized by some fine films from overseas. In this Penultimate Versus episode, we travel to the far east....and then even further east as we break down "Ringu" from Japan and "Laddaland" from Thailand. One final match up after this one to determine who gets creative control over next season.
Valentine's Day comes earlier as we review the 2001 slasher film Valentine. We also had some homework to review as Chris watched The Black Phone and Dave watched The Experiment.

For legal reasons, I have to say that neither Dave nor I are serial killers. But we certainly do our research. In this corner, we have a couple of gritty 80's serial killers named Henry and Otis....and in this corner, dawning their signature barnyard masks, it's the Killers from "You're Next.". But which one deserves the title of "Slasher" more?
We are giving a second chance to Robert Egger's The Lighthouse, Chris and Dave both didn't like this movie the first time around now let us tell you how we felt on our second viewing.
We have always maintained that A24 is.....well, a mixed bag. Movies like Hereditary or Midsommar can seem genius to some and boring to others. What can't be denied, however, is the effect that said movies have had on horror and horror authors. Dystopian and horror author, Davide Tarsitano was nice enough to come by the show to promote his latest book, "Hollow," and to tell us how certain A24 projects have impacted him and his work.
This week we are giving praise to The Father of Zombies, the Godfather of the Dead we are ranking George A Romero's top films, Chris and Dave each made a list to compare and talk about it, so listen and see how similar or different each list is. Feel free to let us know who had the better list Chris or Dave.
Space!! It's a huge place, but there's only room for one winner in these matches. Sure, we could have pitted two classics like Alien or The Thing against each other. But what fun is that? We want movies that don't usually end up in that discussion. Enter Slither in this corner and Event Horizon in the next. It doesn't matter if you stay here on earth or go millions of years into space.....death will find a way to come get you.

It is the return of the Return (of the Living Dead II) star, William Perry kicking off our guest list for Season 6 of Bodybag Podcast. Keeping up the momentum from his first book, "By His Hand," William just released the sequel, "Out of His Mind." With that kind of title, I'm assuming it's an autobiography. Then we are treated to some more of Perry's Hollywood stories and the fun he had being in Return of the Living Dead II.

Finally, the long break is over, and we are back with a new movie review. We are starting with Robert Eggers' 2015 The Witch, and discussing our love hate relationship with A24 and Robert Eggers movies.
After the bad Christmas movies, we are hoping that this year's Christmas movies are an improvement, and we are starting with 2015's Krampus nothing says Christmas like arguing with your family so much you summon the anti-santa.
Hold up. Before you go any further, I'm gonna need you to take a sip of this holy water. It's not that I don't trust you, but you look like the kind of person who would consort with demonic entities and vampiric overlords. It is the final Versus battle of the season and it's a real nail biter. Two hosts. Two movies. Two films that neither Dave or Chris have seen before. Listen to hear which is the definitive vampire movie and whose gamble paid off.
It is time for the final movie review of the season as we review Dave's guilty pleasure movie 1999's House on Haunted Hill, we also review our homework of Death Becomes Her and Knock at the Cabin which leads to some heated discussion.

My work is too important!" Brokewriter Dave and Chris understand this plight. Hosting a horror podcast is just as important as inventing teleportation or developing a serum that conquers death......JUST AS IMPORTANT. So, it is time to honor two legends of Mad Science: Seth Brundle from the 1986 movie "The Fly" and Herbert West from 1985's "Re-Animator."
