When planning the interview’s we began to realise that a body of work that might become a celebratory archive of musical experience in the city would be ’no bad thing’, particularly if we could house it in one place. Rather than just a passive look back at the rich seam of activity over the years – we are hoping that the Preamp Project will, ’turn up the volume on Preston’s musical history to help energise the forward momentum of our present music scene’s undoubted talent’.

Part of the 'permeate conversations' that we began in late 2019 that centred around the wider creative scene in Preston that also included artists, designers, writers etc. This was one of 3 that we did with musicians from the city. Liam Blake has been creating & performing rap music in Preston since he was a teenager under the name of BLKY.
He presently works out of the Soundskills Studio supporting young people & adults through music and has recently worked with Mic Righteous. Here he discusses the potential of and difficulties faced by the cities Urban scene. Once again genre that has ‘little voice’ it seems but a huge amount of energy and talent.
As with the other 2 permeate conversations they are in a slightly different format to what we do now through the Preamp Project - but they are none the less a useful insight and a good listen.
Part of the 'permeate conversations' that we began in late 2019 that centred around the wider creative scene in Preston that also included artists, designers, writers etc. This was one of 3 that we did with musicians from the city. Jadie Swales is a DJ & radio presenter for Beat 103.
We felt it was really important for Jadie to be involved as she is from the cities Underground Electronic Music scene - dance music has been a big part of Preston for many, many years but often goes unrecognised. Here she talks about the role of music in her life, how it effects her health and the obvious joy she gets from it (and she gives to others). An infectious personality Jadie convinced us all that ‘dance’ definately has its place and its quite rightly ‘loud and proud’.
As with the other 2 permeate conversations they are in a slightly different format to what we do now through the Preamp Project - but they are none the less a useful insight and a good listen.

Sean O'Hara is the drummer & percussionist with Mobius Loop a band that has been around the scene since 2008.
Aiming to inspire through Music & Art a profound understanding of Hemp and to manifest the LoVe Revolution through personal & collective evolution - the band is a truly remarkable experience live. Here we found Sean waxing lyrical about life as a musician in the city and he turned out to be a really sound individual (as are Katie & Alex).
As with the other 2 permeate conversations they are in a slightly different format to what we do now through the Preamp Project - but they are none the less a useful insight and a good listen.
