As our planet travels round the Sun while spinning on tis acces , Time is our concept to help understand what is going on. A useful tool to catalouge events and prepare for new ones. I create this entry for hive open mic week 220 while meditating in the garden .

Helping out at back to nature festival we’ve been to the site to put up a marquee 40 x 20‘ old army tent thankfully there were some friends there to help us as it takes about six people to actually erect the tent. The whole process went smoothly .
Then we decorated the tent with Tara and Windhorse prayer flags ,some pictures that @Queenoftheworld had painted on some large canvases that we put uses hangings round the walls. We also brought our Green Tara tanka and had a special area for Green Tara.
The large canvases that @Queenoftheworld painted are of the river. This is a legacy of the large marquee being used for the river stage which put on many bands over the years at cosmic puffin festival. The marque provides a great space for comunal activities.
People are starting together for the weekend and I must say I’m really looking forward to getting back to nature this weekend. Feel like I’m going to be able to relax having been working quite hard recently.
A weekend of yoga ,Qi Gong , good food ,saunas what more could one ask for?
A buetiful cacao ceremony .defiately a memorable part of the weekend.

Open mic at bruff
The last friday in the month , we host open mic night at Bruff , a great little cocktail bar at walton.
Atracting local artists and live music fans .
With fantastic views of the sea off of walton beach through the large windows . This is a great place to be on a friday night after a busy week at work. We drew a good sized audience who enjoyed the performances.
With a variety of talented performers the evening had a special feel to it and we felt prialidged to be a part of it. From hard hitting rap by Lizzyness to alernatve rock from the rascals, each act just seemed to get better and better.
As well as enoying the music we could all enjoy the amazing coctails that Stephanie serves at the Bruff. I drank non alchoholic mocktails as I had to drive the PA back to harwich.
The PA we used was on loan from the local council in Harwich for another open mic gig we are hosting on Saturday in cliff park dovercourt Harwich.
We came away impressed by the PA, alot easier to set up than our usual system and a good sound clear bright with plenty of bass. A line array system , I am considering selling my existing PA to help pay for somthing similar , good indoors at a venue but tomorrow we will see how it performs ot doors in the park.
The PA has 8 inputs and to mix the levels you can download an app and use a phone or pad to access controls for each channel. This is great and allows me to mix from any where in the venue.
Open Mic at Cliff Park
We took Liziness to Harwich with us so that she could perform in the park the next day. She enjoys staying with us and Harwich because she likes being around other musicians . We are often creating music with her when she visits.
The PA performed well in Cliff Park and was very efficient outside. It has a 120° degree spread so I placed a small busking amp behind it so that the sound was available all around the bandstand.
We hosted the open Mike from 1230 until 4 o’clock and the again we had talented musicians turning up , and enthusiastic audience to appreciate the music.
We enjoyed an afternoon of inspirational music from friendly local talented artists.
The highlight of the weekend was definitely li
ziness performing in the park , her poetry to backing tracks that she had made in London. Here is a taste of what she sounds like.

Moonlit Rainbow Halo Open Mic at the VicWe had great fun at the Vic open mike night, here we are playing our composition moon lit rainbow halo. We took Mel along so she could read her poetry , being only the second time she had braved the stage to read her poetry we gave her a lift and supported her in her effort. she was very nervouse but in the end perfarmed her poetry well. I am so glad we went out for the evening ,Stewart the host runs a great night and atracts alot of talented people along to join in.

Pirate Santa at Harwich
In Harwich we like to make our vistors welcome , and we do have our own ways of doing things @queenoftheworld and I went down to the visitors center to assist with one of the starnge customs on the pier , the Harich version of Santa in Pirate form giving treasure out to any children that visit. we thought it would be nice to adlib some piratey christmas mashups to acompany our Pirate Santa in his work. We enjoyed a great afternoon amongst friends and entertained a few visitors of Harwich Happeny Pier.

Harwich Arts Festival Picnic in the Park Well we had a busy time at the weekend, @queenoftheworld and I, we were booked to play at Harwich arts festival picnic in the park, We put the Picnic hamper and the instruments on the trolley walked down to the park. We had a glorious sunny day to help things along and had prepared some lovely food for the picnic. Guests for our picnic were Rita (@queenoftheworlds mum), Peter (her brother, Jill (my Mum)and Anne (mums cousin) , we also invited several friends. Arriving just as the sound crew and organisers were stting up, We were first up to play and this was our first tune after a quick sound check. A great event with a charitable theme musiciens raising money for the homeless.
Bueno, tuvimos un tiempo ocupado el fin de semana, @queenoftheworld y yo, estábamos reservados para tocar en el picnic del festival de artes de Harwich en el parque. Pusimos la cesta de picnic y los instrumentos en el carrito y caminamos hacia el parque. Tuvimos un glorioso día soleado para ayudar y habíamos preparado una deliciosa comida para el picnic. Los invitados a nuestro picnic fueron Rita (@queenoftheworlds mamá), Peter (su hermano, Jill (mi mamá) y Anne (prima de mamá), también invitamos a varios amigos. @queenoftheworld and I attended an Open Mic on wednesday run by a dear friend of ours Stewart. As we entered the Vic where the event is held,
we noticed a silence and wondered wether we had the wrong day . The silence was broken by the beutiful sound of a Harp being played, our lovely
friend Lorraine was playing and she had every ones atention. The evening was filled with great music , we had arrived a bit late so we had lots of

So , Gary's brother started it, consequently Gary has a pignose, that is a guitar, with a pignose amp built in the body.
Then Gary and Maria have a party, being musical they have a Jam , and then Ruth plays the pignose Guitar in the Jam and keeps playing it all night.
We come home from the party , and Ruth can not leave it , and has to find one .
Dominique finds a pignose for sale 17 miles away thats it , the next day Ruth has a White and gold pignose Guitar. Her dreams of becoming Rock Chique are realised. Then Tony and Jenny , who were at the party come round and see the pignose, play the pignose. Not long after that Tony and Jenny turn up with a pignose Bass for Jenny and a pignose Guitar for Tony. Well Maria is not happy , she has no pignose and can not play Garys because she is left handed. She is miffed. Shortly after we discover Gary has been tirelessy searching for a left handed pignose , ever since he got his, and he has at last found one. Maria has a pignose too .

A perfect day to perform aboard The Excelsior , a beautiful 77' Smack that was lovingly resored in 1989 by the Exelsior Trust.
this video is us performing Bathside Bay written by @queenoftheword. Every year Harwich hosts a shanty festival atracting singers and musicians from around the world. We are locals so we act as pop up Pirates and play here and there for the whole weekend. Here we were joined by the firstmate of the Pioneer anothe Smack round from Brightlingsea for the weekend.
The festival is well attended and thousands visit to hear shantys and music ,see the re-inactments that happen and soak up the History of Harwich . We had a wonderfull time and are sharing some of that here and on Hive with all of you

Hive openmic week 97 Lost Hello Hive open mic we wrote a new song for this weeks theme Lost. @ruthqueenoftheworld found her Grandad's banjo in the back of a cupboard. We tuned it up fixed the intonation and then she played seaslessly for 3 hours. As you may know a banjo can be quite fierce not an instrument to compete with, I thought if you can't beat them join them and joined in with the guitar. We thoght it was a great sound and adapted it for this weeks theme after Ruth jotted down the lyrics as in the picture above. Hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed playing.

Lo afinamos, arreglamos la entonación y luego ella tocó sin problemas durante 3 horas. Como ya sabéis, el banjo puede ser bastante feroz y no es un instrumento con el que se pueda competir. Pensamos que era un gran sonido y lo adaptamos para el tema de esta semana después de que Ruth anotara la letra como en la imagen de arriba. We wrote this song because of our association with Qi Gong master Wei Qi Feng, who we invited over to Tendring for workshops and practice . He is a wonderful teacher and shared some Ideas with us to include in our music and this is one of the songs that came about.
