A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another” (John 13:31-35).What do you see when you look at the cross? You have the God you see there. If you see a God angry with sin, full of wrath for sinners, you have that God. It is indeed sin that put Jesus on that cross. But, on the other hand, if you see a God who loves you so much that he went to that cross, embraced it, climbed up on it and held himself there in order to keep hold of you, you have that God. You have a God of love. I’ve noticed that the crucifix is an interesting thing in modern American Christianity. American Christians love the baby Jesus in the manger, but they sometimes don’t like Jesus on the cross. I’ve even heard some argue that an empty cross is better than a crucifix, because Jesus rose. Using that logic, though, an empty manger would be better, too. If you want something empty, the tomb is the way to go. The point of the manger is that Jesus was in it. The point of the cross is that Jesus was on it. He loved us enough that he died and on that third day arose Again. That's why we love people to the cross not away from it

I want to be honest with you.
This isn’t the message I thought I would be preaching.
In fact, if you had asked me a few days ago what I would be standing here to proclaim, it wouldn’t have been this.
But I have a burden this morning.
A burden that has weighed heavily on my heart, and I cannot ignore what the Holy Spirit has laid upon me.
There are moments when God changes our plans because He has something His people need to hear. I believe this is one of those moments.
This burden isn’t just for me. I believe it’s for every one of us. It is something we should not ignore—something we cannot afford to ignore.
The message comes from such a simple text.
A passage many of you have probably heard preached dozens, maybe even hundreds, of times.
Yet I’ve learned that familiar Scripture often carries fresh conviction when the Holy Spirit breathes upon it.
So before we go any further, I want to ask you a question.

Hebrews 10:23
The writer of Hebrews doesn’t tell us to hold on because life is easy.
He tells us to hold on because the One who made the promise is faithful.
Our confidence is not in our strength—it is in God’s unchanging character. God is faithful, even when we find ourselves feeling alone, abandoned, or isolated.
He is faithful. His mercies are new every morning.
His heart is pure, holy, and righteous.
I want you to understand this: I came to tell you that it is the faithfulness of God that holds us together and keeps us from falling apart.
When everything around us seems uncertain, God remains the one constant thing in our life
His faithfulness never changes, never weakens,

A Disciple Counts the Cost
Luke 14:28
“For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost…”
One of the greatest misconceptions in the church today is that following Jesus costs nothing.
Now saying that I must add Salvation is the free gift of God, but discipleship will cost you everything.
Jesus never tricked anyone into following Him. He never promised an easy road, a popular life, or worldly success. Instead, He called men and women to deny themselves, take up their cross daily, and follow Him.
A real disciple doesn’t just make a confession with their mouth—they make a commitment with their life.
Far too many people claim to follow Jesus on Sunday but follow the world Monday through Saturday.
Discipleship is not a title you wear; it is a life you live. It isn’t measured by how loud you sing in church but by how faithfully you obey Christ when no one else is watching.

Jesus Never Called Us to Attend Church—He Called Us to Be Disciples
Welcome to the podcast.
Today we’re talking about something that may challenge the way many of us think about our faith.
Jesus never looked at His disciples and said, “Go attend church once a week.” He said, “Follow Me.” He called ordinary people to become disciples—men and women who would deny themselves, take up their cross daily, and live completely surrendered to Him.
Church attendance is important. Gathering with other believers is biblical. But attending a service doesn’t automatically make someone a disciple. A disciple is a follower of Jesus Christ. A disciple obeys His Word, loves what He loves, hates what He hates, and seeks to become more like Him every single day.
The question isn’t, “Did I go to church this week?” The question is, “Am I following Jesus when I leave the church building?”
Today, we’re going to look at what Jesus actually taught about discipleship, what it truly means to follow Him, and why He is still calling people today—not just to fill pews, but to carry their cross and follow Him.

The word Lord is a powerful word. When we say, “Jesus is the Lord of our life,” we are saying much more than simply acknowledging Him as our Savior. We are declaring that He has complete authority, leadership, and control over every area of our lives.
To call Him Lord means we willingly submit to His will, follow His Word, and trust Him in all things.
The word “Lord” means master, ruler, owner, or one who has authority over another.
In the Bible, when we call Jesus Lord, we are declaring that He has the right to rule and direct our lives. It is more than a title—it is a position of authority and surrender.
Romans 10:9
“If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
The Greek word often translated Lord in the New Testament is Kyrios, meaning master, owner, or supreme authority.
To say “Jesus is Lord” means:
- He is the Master of my life.
- He has authority over my decisions.
- I submit to His will above my own.
- I follow Him in obedience.

The church was never designed for the “righteous” to sit back and applaud themselves.
It was never meant to be a stage where people show up, look holy, act holy, and pretend they’ve got it all together.
That was never the design.
The church looks a whole lot more like a hospital than it does a museum.
It’s not for the polished—it’s for the broken.
It’s not for the perfect—it’s for the hurting.
It’s not for those who have it all together—it’s for those who finally realize they don’t.
It’s okay to walk into the church and say, “I’m not okay.”
It’s okay to admit, “My life is falling apart.”
It’s okay to say, “I’m struggling… with addiction… with lust… with the pull of this world… and I’m tired.”

Psalms 95:6
This verse is a call to humble worship. The psalmist invites God’s people to express reverence, gratitude, and submission to God by bowing and kneeling before Him, recognizing Him as their Creator (“our Maker”). It emphasizes both outward acts of worship and the inward attitude of humility and devotion
Psalm 95:6 reminds believers that worship is not merely about singing or attending services; it is about approaching God with a humble heart, recognizing His greatness and our dependence on Him

This is something that’s been weighing on me.
Over the years, I’ve heard sermons that marked my life—
messages about Jesus sitting with sinners…
messages about Jesus flipping tables…
But here’s what we don’t talk about enough—
Both of those moments happened in the presence of religious people.
In one scene, they criticize Him—
“Look at Him… eating and drinking with sinners.” (Matthew 9:10–11)
In the other, He walks into the temple—
not a bar, not the streets—
the temple—
and finds it turned into a marketplace of empty religion and self-serving systems. (Matthew 21:12–13)
And something in Him turns over.
Because the problem was never the sinners—
it was the people who thought they didn’t need saving.
So this morning… I’m not coming to impress you.
I’m not coming polished.
I’m coming burdened… because I’ve got a question sitting in my spirit—
What table are you at?

Walking in the Spirit is one of the greatest challenges a Christian will ever face.
Not because it’s confusing… but because it’s a fight.
It’s the struggle of the flesh.
It’s the struggle of the identity we’ve been called to walk in.
Because the truth is—
we were never created to live led by the flesh.
We weren’t created by accident.
We weren’t formed with an unintentional purpose.
We were created to worship a holy, sovereign God—
a God who, in all of His perfection, still loves us in the middle of our imperfections.
And God did not leave us guessing about how to live:

Are you willing?
The Bible says there was a multitude of impotent folk gathered there.
Not important but impotent folk
That wording matters.
Because “impotent” means powerless… ineffective… unable to produce results—whether physically or spiritually.
These were people who were stuck.
Broken.
Unable to fix what they were in.

Mother’s Day is more than flowers and cards—it’s about recognizing a life poured out daily.
A mother’s entire world often revolves around her children. Not just being a parent, but being present. In a distracted world, her presence becomes one of the greatest gifts she can give.
She becomes a strong tower in the home—steady when everything else feels uncertain. When storms hit the family, it’s often mama who stands firm, holding things together when no one else even realizes it’s falling apart.

This morning I want to ask you to be patient with me.
The Lord laid this on my heart last Sunday night, and I want to be faithful to what He’s been dealing with me about.
Kerry and I had some fellow firemen and fire ladies over at the house. We were working on the pool, trying to get it finished up, and like always, my phone was hooked to the speaker playing music.
And in the middle of that, a song came on… and I’ll be honest with you—it was disgusting. It was not something that honored the Lord.
I was embarrassed. Not just a little uncomfortable—but ashamed. And of course, they heard it. Nobody was being judgmental, nobody was attacking me, but one of them kind of laughed and said, “Is that the preacher’s after-hours playlist?”
Some of you might chuckle at that, but in that moment it wasn’t funny to me. It was embarrassing—not just for me, but for my wife… and most importantly, for my Savior.
And in that moment, the Lord spoke—not in an audible voice, but in that still, quiet way He deals with the heart.
And He said, “Son… who are you when nobody is around—and does it match who you are when everybody is watching?”
And so this morning, I want to bring that question to you:
Who are you… really?

Opening:
Many times in life, we find ourselves praying prayers that feel like they only hit the ceiling.
We run to people… we ask others to pray…
But the truth is—
we’ve learned how to say prayers…
without ever learning how to live a life of prayer.
There is a difference between speaking words…
and walking in relationship.
In Mark chapter 5, Jairus shows us what real prayer looks like.
The Bible says he didn’t send a message—
he came himself.
He didn’t stand at a distance—
he fell at the feet of Jesus…
and began to plead.
That’s prayer.
Not polished.
Not rehearsed.
Not religious.

Many of us have burdens.
Many of the burdens we carry are unspoken and unseen. But whatever burden you’re carrying today, I want you to know there is freedom in Jesus’ name.
A young man spent most of his life seeking approval, seeking acceptance, trying to fill a void in his heart. It was in a small church where he encountered freedom.
The evangelist preached from Galatians 6:2, which says,
“Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.”

What is it like when our sin is out in front of us? When the weight of our wrong choices, our words, or our inaction presses on our hearts?
There’s a burden, a heaviness, a tension we can’t escape on our own.
Sin is not just a mistake—it’s direct disobedience to God’s Word and God’s will for our lives. And when we try to hide it, justify it, or ignore it, that burden grows heavier.

Hebrews 6:19
Years ago a man was out on the water in a small boat.
The wind began to pick up…
The sky started turning dark…
And before long the waves began beating against the boats in the harbor.
Boat after boat was drifting.
Some were being pushed by the wind…
Others were being tossed by the waves.
But there was one boat that wasn’t moving.
It wasn’t drifting.
It wasn’t being carried away by the storm.
Finally another man shouted across the water and asked the other man,
“Why is it that your boat isn’t moving like all the others?”
The man hollered back just a few simple words:
“Because the anchor holds.”
And can I tell you this morning…
Life has a way of sending storms.
The wind will blow…
The waves will rise…
And everything around you may start drifting…
But the question is—what are you anchored to?
1. The Storm is Inevitable
- “The wind began to pick up… the waves began to beat…”
- You don’t have to go looking for storms—they’ll find you.
- Trouble in your home…
- Trials in your faith…
- Pressure in your mind…
John 16:33 – “In the world ye shall have tribulation…”
👉 The problem isn’t the storm…
👉 The problem is when you face it without an anchor.
Preach it:
Everybody’s in the same storm—but not everybody has the same stability.

Several years ago a story circulated about a hospital where something strange began happening.Patients were dying in the emergency room waiting area.Not because the doctors didn’t have the medicine.Not because the hospital lacked the equipment.Not because the surgeons weren’t trained.They were dying because no one was bringing them inside.The hospital was full of doctors.The medicine cabinets were stocked.The operating rooms were ready.But people were sitting in the parking lot… hurting… suffering… dying… because no one was going out to bring them in.Finally someone asked the question that should have been obvious:“What good is a hospital full of doctors if no one goes out to get the dying?”And church, I couldn’t help but think…How close does that sound to the modern church today? ⛪

We stand week after week.
We have our call to worship.
We pray and ask God to let us take the message and apply it to our daily lives.
But here’s the honest truth:
We often get so busy that by Monday…
we forget what the message was even about.
And sometimes we say things like.
“Well, if the preacher was a little better, maybe I’d remember.”
But Proverbs doesn’t put the responsibility on the preacher.
It puts it on the heart.
And that’s where Jeremiah helps us understand why.

Years have come and gone. Seasons have changed. Storms have risen and fallen. And through the years we’ve sung the words:
“It is well… it is well… with my soul.”
But let me remind you — that song was not written in comfort.
It was not written in abundance.
It was not written when everything was going right.
It was written in agony.
It was written in sorrow.
It was written after devastating loss.
And yet the writer could still declare, “It is well with my soul.”So today I have to ask you — not your neighbor, not your spouse, not the person across the aisle — but you: Is it truly well with your soul?
We live in a world that understands connection.
When the signal is strong, everything flows.
When the signal is weak, frustration rises.
Some of us treat our relationship with God like bad cell service — in and out.
One day strong.
Next day silent.
One Sunday lifted.
By Wednesday disconnected.
But hear me:
Our connection to Jesus is not a Sunday morning routine.
It is not a weekly recharge station.
It is not a religious habit.
It is life.
Deuteronomy 10:20 says, “You shall fear the Lord your God… serve Him… and to Him you shall hold fast.”
That phrase “hold fast” means to cling to, to stick to, to remain glued to.
Not visit Him.
Not occasionally acknowledge Him.
But cling to Him.

Having an intimate relationship with Jesus is something we don’t talk about often,but it is the very foundation of our faith. Intimacy with Him means more than just knowing about Him—it means drawing so close to Him that distractions begin to fade. It means learning how to truly abide in Him.And the Word tells us that when we abide in Him, He abides in us.Abiding isn’t just about feeling close to Jesus. It means intentionally turning down the noise of the world so we can see and live from a spiritual perspective.

We talk a lot about falling in love.
We describe it like an accident—something that happens to us, something emotional, something we trip into.
But the truth is this:
The moment of falling in love isn’t about the falling—it’s about the knowing.
Real love isn’t proven by how strongly you feel.
It’s proven by what you know to be true, even when feelings waver.
And that’s exactly where Paul takes us in Romans 5.
Not to emotion—but to evidence.
Not to sentiment—but to certainty.

Introduction
Most of us don’t need a definition of a broken heart. We’ve lived it. A broken heart isn’t always dramatic or loud. Sometimes it’s quiet. Sometimes it keeps showing up to work, to church, to family dinners—but inside, something has cracked. Grief. Betrayal. Disappointment. Loss. A prayer that went unanswered. A future that never arrived. And when hearts break, one of the hardest questions we ask is:
“Where is God in this?”

Often in life, we feel abandoned.
We pray, we seek God’s direction, we ask for His plan yet silence seems to answer us back. In those moments, it’s easy to believe that God has walked away.
But the truth is not that God has abandoned us—
it’s that we often interfere with the very plans He is working out.
1.Interfering with God’s Plan Many times, we convince ourselves that what’s right in front of us must be God’s plan.
We rush ahead.
We make decisions out of fear, impatience, or pain.
And when things fall apart, we say, “God, where were You?” But nothing we create on our own can compare to God’s perfect plan.

- “The church hasn’t fallen asleep overnight—we’ve been napping.”

A nap feels harmless:
- Comfortable
- Temporary
- Unintentional
- But spiritually:
- Naps turn into missed moments
- Missed warnings
- Missed assignments “You can love God and still be asleep.”
Paul isn’t talking to the world—he’s talking to believers. He isn’t talking to religious people he is talking to the people who the body.

When we think of the birth of Jesus, we often recognize the gift—but do we truly see the perfection of that gift?
He was born as a man, yet lived a blameless life here on earth. He walked without sin, without fault, without compromise.
And still, He willingly gave His life for a world that would despise Him, reject Him, and turn away from His love and grace.
Even so, God did not withhold His gift. He gave us perfection wrapped in flesh—Jesus Christ.

Matthew 2:11–12
Fit for a King
There is a truth we must understand today:
Not one of us has anything fit for a King.
We possess nothing material that can please the Lord.
Not our passion.
Not our dedication.
Not our commitments.
Not even our words.
None of these, by themselves, can satisfy
the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings.
Yet Scripture reminds us in 1 Peter 2:9:
“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.”
When we praise Him, we please Him—not because of our actions,
not because of our song,
not because of our shout,
nor because of our voices—
But because He is already well pleased.
He called us out of darkness.
He delivered us from a life of sin—
and Scripture says we should not return to it
like a dog to its vomit.
That’s not vulgarity, church—that’s Bible.
Now listen with your heart this morning.

Proverbs 8:1-17
We say this phrase often in our prayer life as a church
Lord tell me me give me Wisdom
But the reality is this we often times don’t want to know we don’t really want wisdom nor what God wants for us.
We say we do but if it makes us uncomfortable in certain areas well that’s not Gods will. It can’t be it makes me uncomfortable .But the truth is we should be uncomfortable in someways at times

God's timing is perfect, so what we see as a delay is not a delay, but it means we must trust in the Lord and have patience. We find it hard to give thanks in all Things let’s be honest we are a people of convenience gratitude
We are a people who believe thankfulness is only a thing that is necessary in a time of gain
But the truth is this according to this scripture in Colisians 3:17
But it’s here that we see a outline that’s so amazing that if we are not careful we will miss it
It’s what we do in word or in deed do it in the name of Jesus.
A family joined together for their annual thanksgiving dinner and the dad began to complain about the turkey being dry the dressing not being right it was complaint after complaint
And then his 5 year old son spoke up and said dad Jesus didn’t give us this day to be mad but to be happy and thankful

In the United States of America today, there is not one single church afraid to join together in worship. There isn't one group of people meeting in sewers or even in a house in secret, afraid for their own life. There isn't one group of people who will meet in a church who are afraid of being caught, beaten, or even killed for their faith in Jesus Christ. But in Africa, China, Asia, and Iran, there are groups of people being killed for their faith. So I ask you this morning, are you ready? Will you stand for your faith? Many of us would like to believe that we would never renounce Jesus, that we would stand up against the injustice. I want you all to understand, a day is coming when the word of God will be deemed unlawful and a punishment will ensue.

This morning, I ask you to examine your life during this message. Not just asking yourself if you have a personal relationship with Jesus, but that you are known by Him, and that people know that you know Him. We hear people say, 'Well, I was born a Christian,' or 'My mom and dad were Christians.' That doesn't make you a Christian. 'Well, I went to church; that must count for something.' Known by Him. Matthew 7:21-23 tells us that many will stand before Him and say, 'I did all these things in your name.' We must realize that because we read the book and go through the motions, it doesn't mean that we are known by Him. Even here in verse 15, the evil spirit said, 'I know Paul; I know Jesus. Who are you?' How do we know it wasn't known by God, because he didn't say, 'My God knows me, and I know Paul, and so forth.' We must realize that church attendance doesn't mean that folks are heaven-bound.

We see that the king calls for all his men and says, 'Look at this, folks. Look at what their God has done. We put three in the fire, and they didn’t scream or yell in agony and in pain. Their God showed up and walked about the fire. Smell them; they don’t smell like smoke. Look, not a hair is singed. It’s how we react in the fire; it’s when our witness is the strongest, when we are in the fire. What are people saying when they see us in the fire? Look at them; they are walking tall. They aren’t breaking down; they aren’t crying, 'Woe is me.' They are walking with the God of all. Trusting in Jesus. No is often easy for us to say, but the reality is we find it hard at certain times in our lives. We see that they trusted in God; they didn’t bow because it was convenient or the right thing to do. They didn’t bow because their trust was placed in the God of the Universe. And when we place our trust in the God of the universe, people will want what we have, not because of us, but because in the fire, we are trusting in the only thing that can get us through, and that’s Jesus.

We see that Jesus cries out and says, "Father, not my will be done, but yours." Now we have to understand that Jesus cries out of anguish and discomfort, physically, spiritually, and emotionally. How can we say that? Well, he was God in the flesh, understand, he was the Son of God in the flesh. So let me ask this: Have you ever hurt so bad, been under so much agony that you sweat drops as if it was blood? And that you cried out and said, "Father, not my will but yours be done"? I can’t do this, but if you ask me to, if you set this cup before me, I’ll do it. Well, brother Tom, that’s not the same; Jesus was on his way to the cross to die for our sins and the sins of the world. Well, we aren’t dying for anyone, but we should be dying to self. The Book of Mark says, Mark 8:35, "For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it." It’s in the hour of discomfort that we find the plan of God moving ever so diligently to bring us to him. Peace isn’t found after surrender; it’s found in surrender. Peace doesn’t come when everything’s fixed — it comes when your heart finally lets go. In one hour, everything can change, and we see this in scripture; it isn’t just another Bible story, it’s not just another outline of what was yet to come. If we would simply just stay awake and say, "Ok, Lord, what are you doing in my life?" If we would simply stay awake spiritually, or even physically, for one hour and just say, "Here I am, what’s your will?" Spending time in his word, learning not only who Jesus is and who he came to be for us, but what he saved us from.

Luke 15:16-17
16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.
17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
We look at the prodigal son and instantly think of how he came back to his father. But I want to point out he didn’t get cleaned up after eating slop. How do we know? The Bible never mentions it. He didn’t prepare an excuse for leaving; it says he ran to his father, and when he was far off, his father saw him and rejoiced, 'My son is alive! Kill the fattened calf, get the family ring! My son is alive!' We get so caught up in the rejoicing that we miss the most important thing: the repentance. And I want us to look at something else - David, in Psalms 51, we recall the moment when he repents. But notice it doesn’t say anything about him washing up. Why is this so important? Well, in Judea and Jewish customs, it’s considered holy to wash up, to clean up, to rinse off, to become proper before coming to the father's house or entering into a time of prayer. I’m not talking about a bath or shower this morning; I’m talking about a moment when we realize it doesn’t matter how clean we appear to be, we are sinners in need of a savior. So David’s cry was the same as the son's - not just for forgiveness but also for cleanliness, to rid of the filth that was on them. David cried out, 'Cleanse me and wash me.' The prodigal son ran to the father, and then the father said, 'Give him all clean stuff.' See, the father cleaned the prodigal up, and David. Often times, we eat the slop of life, the sin that so easily entangles us, and we find ourselves trying to get cleaned up, if you will.

I remember as a child, my mother would listen to the radio constantly. And many times I would find comfort in the songs that played; they became a therapy for me. And there would be times where the antenna would have to be adjusted. And just like us, sometimes we get out of tune with the Father and the Holy Spirit, and we have to be retuned so we can be sensitive to the Holy Spirit. But we grieve. We find ourselves grieving and missing the portion that God has for us. Psalms 73:26 says, 'My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.' But if we are grieving what God has given us, pushing it back because it may be uncomfortable, we may never find ourselves in tune. Because, like anything, if you miss a portion, you miss a lot. If you miss a portion of a movie or a song, you've missed something, and it doesn't make sense. But when we miss God's portion, it's because we have grieved the Holy Spirit. And that brings me to my second point: we don't seek. The book of Jeremiah 29:13 says, 'You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.' But we have to seek Him in order to be in tune. Billy Graham said, 'The sweet, sweet spirit will constantly be found if we seek it.' Then we adjust. In order to adjust our spiritual antennas, we have to simply dive into the Word of God.

But we have many who have been a part of the church, worked in the church, and in this realm, we couldn't do it without you. But I also want to bring this to your mind: we are not just a Sunday family. So many of you fill in the gaps for others with phone calls and daily check-ins. I often compliment on how tight-knit Protemus is, and I say it's a family of people who love people, and just like any family, a little dysfunctional at times. But nonetheless, a family.

Finding Jesus

This week's events were not political. They were not fueled by motives of political propaganda. It was fueled by evil and pure demonic. We can articulate that it was because of politics, but let's be real, it wasn't. It was because the gospel was preached, and if you say it was political, you need to examine your own heart because you have missed it. I'm not big on public figures, and you all know this. But there is no doubt in my heart and in my mind that he was shot for speaking the truth of the Gospel. This isn't a gun control problem, it's not a gender nor race problem. This is the church needs to find Jesus problem.
- This morning, I first want to challenge the elders: Find Jesus. Find Jesus in all that you do, in each decision you make; find Jesus in it. Before you say yes or no, make sure first and foremost that Jesus is the top priority of that message.

The meaning of Fallow Ground.
Land Left unplowed uncultivated for a Season to allow it to rest
And when it rest things grow in It that’s just natural. Jesus says in Matthew 13:7
that some of the seed fell among thorns and the thorns grew up and choked the seed out.
Many times in life we are hearing the word and life is simply a thorn and we allow it to choke out the seed that’s planted
I believe this is the season of breaking ground
Many have grown weary
Jesus says come to me all of you are are weary
Seek him in that Quiet place
It’s in the broken ground where seed is planted
It’s upon the planted seed that the rain comes
And then a harvest
The trails may be never ending but your breaking ground
The heart ache may be hard to bear but your breaking ground
The friends may seam few but your breaking ground

The purpose and power of praise and worship
- Glorifies God: "Whoever offers praise glorifies Me," Psalm 50:23.
- Invites God's Presence: God "inhabits the praises of His people".
- Spiritual Warfare: Praise is a weapon against the enemy, causing confusion and releasing God's power to fight on our behalf.
- Accelerates Prayer Answers: Praise can accelerate answers to prayer.
- Encourages Miracles and Wins Battles: The example of Paul and Silas in prison in Acts 16 shows how their praise led to a supernatural earthquake, releasing them from their chains. Another example is found in 2 Chronicles 20, where Judah faced a large army, and through praise and worship, God caused their enemies to fight each other.

One of the first sayings I heard when I became a Christian was that God is faithful. We sang about the faithfulness of God. Whenever someone would endure a trial, we’d remind them that God is faithful. Faithfulness is a characteristic of God that is often talked about, but I wonder if it’s completely understood. Because we are always communicating about God’s faithfulness in the affirmative—God is faithful—I thought it would be helpful to examine faithfulness from a different perspective: what God’s faithfulness doesn’t mean.
Faithfulness doesn’t mean that God will answer every prayer the way you pray. When things are going well and it seems we are getting what we desire (perhaps through answered prayers), we may be quick to acknowledge God’s goodness and faithfulness. But the real challenge to our belief in God’s faithfulness is when we continue to experience unanswered prayers and when the trials of life begin to squeeze us like a lemon in a juicer. It’s hard, it’s sour, it doesn’t feel right. Can we still say and believe that God is faithful during those seasons?

This morning, I ask you: will you go? In Isaiah 6:1-8, the prophet Isaiah begins his ministry after the Lord asks, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" Isaiah responds, "Here am I; send me." Let's analyze the true meaning of faith. It means trusting God completely or having a strong belief based on spiritual understanding rather than proof.
As humans, we want proof, making it hard to walk by faith.
But when we rely on God, walking in faith becomes easier.
It demonstrates our complete trust in Jesus, which our actions don't always reflect.

This week, the Lord gave me instructions, as He does every week. His message was simple: feed my sheep. As I thought and prayed, I realized many are facing trials. He brought this message to me, and it flourished into something amazing. Today, I want to share this with you: your struggles are a message, your tests are a testimony, and the race isn’t over yet - keep running. Many are hanging by a thread, unsure if it’s attached to the hem of His garment or the buckle of His sandal. Over time, we fight, but the truth is, we’re only hanging on by a thread. We find rest, comfort, and peace in Jesus’ name, and His word can break generational curses, heal our spirits, and renew our joy. Jeremiah 23:29 says, The fire of God’s word destroys bondage, despair, and tramples the enemy’s lies, bringing victory in Jesus’ name. Today, I speak life over you, and I believe God’s word will destroy the enemy’s lies and be your strong tower.

God's highest expression of love and kindness towards mankind is rooted in His eternal plan of redemption. Christ was appointed by the Father to fulfil His plan of salvation, and to secure it by the sacrifice of His righteous life through the spilling of His holy blood on Calvary's Tree.
The Son of the Father came to earth as the sacrifice for sin because of God's great loving-kindness, His sweet tender-compassion, and His eternal goodness, grace, and mercy, toward the children of men. God the Son, came to earth as the Son of Man, to lay down His life for His friends, displaying a supernatural love that is beyond our human comprehension.
There is no shadow of change in the Godhead, but it was the gracious plan of salvation that manifested the depth of His tremendous love towards us which stands starkly silhouetted on time's horizon and the orbit of eternity. The demonstration of God's infinite love, divine character, and perfect justice, is manifest in the Person and Work of Christ.

Stop taking everyone’s opinion and calling it the truth of the word of God. Start diving in and seeking Gods face get in tune with the Holy Spirit and Read your bible. This is the most Damaging thing among the body of Christ.The Division we face isn’t discord in the body of Christ .It’s the signs above the doors it’s the titles of the churches that are meant to be servants of God .We have became these Lukewarm mediocre people .We have new believers who don’t know what to believe because there are 380,000 churches and 200 different delamination and get this

Over the years I have heard and seen a lot of people whom are lost without Jesus and whom all say about the same. If those people go to church and act the way they do I don’t want no part of it. See in order to be a effective witness for Jesus we must walk and talk the life we claim we live on Sundays Church isn’t the only time we are to act as Christians Dads I have a question one I had to ask my self Does our family’s want what we have Do we set the example Do we express and display the values of a Godly Husband or a Godly Dad See we get so busy that we forget to be the spiritual leader the example set before them We are called to holiness we are called to live a life set apart.

The burden is heavy; it's uncomfortable. The pain and hurt you feel are real. The doubt in your mind that you'll never be good enough, and the voice that tells you that you're worthless, are all from the Enemy. I want you to listen this morning, if you never listen to anything else I say. For years, I carried the weight of things I couldn't change - the bridges I couldn't unburn, if you will. This morning, many of you are sitting here dealing with the same thing. I want you to take a minute, clear your mind, and listen with your heart. I stand here week after week, pouring out, and I've had people say we pray that God will refill what you pour out. I want you to know that I stay full because I drink from a cup that doesn't run dry. We often wonder about tomorrow, but the reality is that if we drink from the cup that never runs dry and focus on today's bread, God will handle the rest.

The Cost of Kingdom Influence What are you willing to surrender in order to have a profound impact in the Kingdom of God? Are you prepared to be separated from a generation that is lost and in need of guidance? Can you resist the temptation to conform to societal norms that are contrary to your faith? Or will you simply blend in with a world that is lost and in need of redemption? Let me be clear: if you're not willing to surrender your old ways after giving your life to Jesus, then you're not truly a follower of Christ. When you commit to following Jesus, you must be willing to let go of certain aspects of your old life. Those who claim that following Jesus comes at no cost must not be genuine followers.

The Fire of God is purported to have a profound impact on us. Nevertheless, it is essential to analyze the context of the FIRE. Although some people believe it is a consequence of receiving the Holy Ghost, this is not the primary concern. Rather, the emphasis is on separating ourselves from our previous lives. In verse 12, the word 'fan' is utilized, referring to the winnowing fork, a tool used to separate the wheat from the chaff, thus distinguishing the good from the bad parts of the harvest.

Jesus says the Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who finds a precious pearl and sells everything to buy the field. He took every necessary measure to get that pearl. What measures will you take? What will you sacrifice for that field? Also, reflect on Psalms 56:3. Are you holding on to faith and trust in the Father, even when things are hard? David says: even when I'm afraid, I will trust in thee. God, I will trust you, no matter what life throws at me; I will praise and trust you.

When discussing personal relationships with Jesus, I ask: Are you certain, without any doubt, that you are saved? The enemy often instills doubt, meaning uncertainty or questioning the truth. Thomas, one of Jesus' twelve disciples, exemplifies this. When told that Jesus had appeared to the others, Thomas said, 'I won't believe unless I touch his nail-scarred hands or side.' Despite witnessing the same miracles and hearing the same message, Thomas harbored doubt about Jesus' resurrection.

Having Right Standing with God! How can we have right standing with God? Let's go to the Word of God. When I read this, the first thing that pops out is the first part of verse one: "be found in Him." To be found in Him, we must first be known by Him. The common theme in having right standing with the Father is knowing Him and being known by Him. How can we obtain righteousness when the Bible says there are none righteous? The answer lies in understanding our need for God's grace and acknowledging our sinfulness.

I want to ask you to search your heart while I present you with this word the Lord gave me this week. Does your sin hurt? Does it bring you to a point of discomfort, and does it bring you to a point where you feel like the burden is unbearable? I sat down with a young lady this week who asked me if I thought she was a false Christian or a lukewarm Christian. She had a lot of things going on at one time, and my heart broke for her as she listed all these things. After I listened to her concerns, and because of her trials and difficulties and conviction, I said, 'Definitely not.' The explanation I gave was this: A lukewarm Christian, while they have conviction, they don’t have the desire to do anything different. A false Christian will appear to live a life publicly committed to Christ, while their heart is far from Him. Jesus even addressed that in Matthew 15:8, saying, 'These people draw near me with their mouth, but their heart is far from me.' So I ask you all this morning, and even myself, does our sin hurt?

Over the years, I've been blessed to preach in different churches and stand behind many sacred desks. I can honestly say that Protemus is definitely a blessing to me and my family. In many of those churches, including this one, I hear the same thing: we want to make an impact for the kingdom of God and we want to grow. I want to point out that when Jesus shows up, either at church or in our homes or lives, we experience a life-altering encounter that we can't explain except by saying, 'Jesus showed up.' However, there are times when we close that door. Jesus is a gentleman; he never goes where he isn't welcomed. This statement is based on the Gospel of Luke, where Jesus and his disciples weren't welcomed in Samaria, and the Bible says they simply moved on. But I want us to look at what happens when Jesus shows up.

For years, we've heard people say, "Follow Jesus." But have we taken the time to understand what that really means? Following Jesus is more than just having a personal relationship or a close walk with him. It's more than just socializing with other believers on Sundays. To truly follow Jesus, we must be willing to wholeheartedly seek him and follow his purpose for our lives. We must also accept that our role is not just to pray and spend time with him, but to depend on him completely. The New Testament clearly instructs us to follow Jesus, but what about the Old Testament? While it doesn't explicitly say, "Follow Jesus," it does prophesy his coming. Interestingly, Jesus says, "Follow me," 21 times in the Bible. As we follow Jesus, we learn not only who he is but also who has called us to be. So, what does it mean to walk as he walked? We're empowered by the same Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead.

Roman 8:10-13 The Death of The Flesh This morning I want to start by saying that the flesh is the biggest struggle we all face, whether it is our sinful nature or the most common thing that keeps us from being in tune with the Holy Spirit. I know we have been to the Book of Romans recently, but not these verses. There is a lot to unpack here, so let's dive in. The flesh is a deep connection to the sinful nature we are all born with. The Greek word for flesh, sarx, is often used to refer to human sinfulness. The flesh, in itself apart from the blood of Jesus, is wicked and vulnerable to the enemy. Let's look at these verses one by one. Verse 7 talks about being carnally minded. Verse 8 tells us that if we are in the flesh, we cannot please God. Verse 9 says that if we are not in the flesh but in the spirit, the spirit is in us, and if we don't have the spirit, we are none of His.

This verse is key, and I also want us to read verse 5 for context. Jesus isn't saying our salvation will be taken away; let's be clear about that. The candlestick metaphor symbolizes the church's light and influence. God's warning shows his desire to restore his relationship with his people. Believers can renew their spiritual commitment by returning to their initial devotion and faith actions, avoiding the loss of God's guidance.

The altar was designed for sacrifice, a place of atonement where people once pleaded with God for mercy and forgiveness. Although it's no longer considered sacred or used in many places of worship, and isn't a religious place or site of religious ritual, in 1 Kings 18:32-38, we see unique events unfold. Elijah mocks the god of Baal, saying, 'Is he asleep or on a journey?' Then, he prays for fire. I invite you to join me in exploring this further. Elijah called the children of Israel to repent, but they rejected the opportunity. Today, I say that's what this altar is for. While it's true you don't have to go to the altar to do business with God, it's when you get up and feel God's hand resting upon you.

We often hear the word confess, but do we really understand what it means to confess? To confess to something means providing details. When it comes to confessing our sins, it's a different story. This morning, I want to remind you that no matter what you're seeking during this time of year, whether it's peace amidst life's noise, or you're struggling to find your voice to cry out to the Father in your brokenness, recall John 6:35, where Jesus says, "I am the bread of life; he that comes to me shall never hunger; and he that believes on me shall never thirst." For born-again believers, this serves as a reminder that we already have the perfect gift, knowing that Jesus went from the manger to the cross, to the tomb, and arose again on the third day.

Over the years, we discuss this time of year as being the season of giving. While looking at Luke 6:38, it says something amazing. Let's take a look. The first part of this verse says, "Give, and it shall be given unto you." There's something about this time of year that makes us spend time looking for the perfect gift. Often, we need to be reconciled in our relationships. So, there's an order to this concept: we have to give in order to receive. We are given forgiveness by the precious blood of Jesus. So, we need to understand that the first word is "Give." I'm often asked the same question: how can I find forgiveness?

Jesus' declaration in verse 3 stresses the requirement of being born again for salvation and highlights the reality of transformation. Verse 6 serves as the foundation for our exploration. As we delve into these verses, we discover the fundamental principle that flesh originates from flesh, while spirit originates from spirit. Crucially, flesh can limit our perspective to mere obstacles, whereas spirit provides guidance, support, and empowerment.

This morning, I'd like to emphasize that following Jesus comes with a significant cost, as illustrated in John 12:1-8. In this passage, we observe several remarkable events, including Lazarus's resurrection, courtesy of Jesus's powerful call. We also witness Judas's true nature, as Scripture reveals his thieving tendencies in verse 6. Judas objects to the expensive ointment used to anoint Jesus's feet, suggesting it could have been sold for 300 pence, equivalent to approximately $45 today. Furthermore, Mary's selfless act of washing Jesus's feet with her hair showcases her profound love and devotion to Him. The Sacrifice was worth it all.

So they would become Educated on the kings desires they would train and they would find avenues to get in front of the king to tell him they wanted to enlist if you will. They had to seek not just the king but the Kingdom See the King would hold the throne of the Kingdom But it wasn’t just the throne on the palace they had to seek it was the Kingdom. And yearly many would be called to enlist . But only a few would be chosen. The Bible explains it to us in depth when we are told to seek ye first the Kingdom heaven is a by product of knowing the the father

Some say this is just Anaolgy of salvation and calling the prodigals home , but really it rather describes the consequences of immature faith. Others say that the passages is difficult to interpret, for intense the word "tasted" could refer to people who haven't fully committed to Christ…. There are so many different things to dissect here . I want to tell you a story this morning ..
A young man mockingly said to a preacher, "You say that unsaved people carry a great weight of sin.
Frankly, I feel nothing. How heavy is sin? Ten pounds? Fifty pounds?
Eighty pounds? A hundred pounds?" The preacher thought for a moment and gently replied,
"If you laid a four hundred-pound weight on a corpse, would it feel the load?" The young man was quick to say, "Of course not; it's dead." The preacher replied, "The person who doesn't know Christ is equally dead. And though the load is great, he feels none of it."
What does this mean how can we be born again alive in Christ yet without wavering yet dead in sin. I can tell you how we may become callous even cold because maybe just maybe , The very thing we struggle with, we don’t consider it to be sin

This morning I want to start by saying that sin not only separates us from God but will ultimately make us a Fugitive from God. Isaiah 59:2 states, "But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. But thank God for the blood of Jesus

And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation
We see even in the beginning of creation when Eve and Adam ate of the Tree they knew their sin and tried to hide from God. And thousand of years later we still do the same. But it’s here in this 4th chapter of the book of Genesis we see the Fugitive become a reality Being a fugitive and a vagabond represents wandering in a state of restlessness, alienation, and loneliness, without a true home or belonging. It serves as a warning about the consequences of disobedience and the importance of walking in God's ways to find true peace and purpose in life. God calls us to seek His guidance and to live in communion with Him, for He is the source of true security, fulfillment, and direction in our lives.

The current state of the church is one of self-love and self-motivation, but at what cost? The pursuit of personal fulfillment has led to a neglect of the fundamental principles of Christianity, such as forgiveness, holiness, and repentance. I could stand here and plea with you .And beg you but unless the Holy spirit draws you. Unless the movement of the holy spirit is in this place. We would have nothing more than a social hour I dont know about you but i think its time the church has church again .We have sat back and got comfortable. Full of complaints and ridiculous behavior has been introduced into the body of Christ even before the first American church was ever formed in 1610 I’m sure they said things like .I wish the preacher wasn't so long winded I wish we didn't stand so much It suddenly became about Self desires and comfort. But the reality is this we shouldn't be comfortable at all When the Holy spirit shows up he is our comforter and conviction should be followed by repenting followed by that Actually being Christ like The church has become this people pleasing self seking thing. It's a hospital for the sinner

In this Chapter of Jeremiah we see a phrase here that we are going to pull from but first I want to give some context to this verse. The prophet Jeremiah received this message from God in 608 B.C.E., during. the reign of King Zedekiah. Jeremiah had foretold that Jerusalem would fall and that Zedekiah would be taken captive. Since the king did not like the message, he had Jeremiah taken into custody.-Jeremiah 32:1-5; 33:1;37:21.It was in these circumstances that God extended the invitation found at Jeremiah 33:3.Unfortunately, King Zedekiah and most of the nation persisted in their rebellion. (eremiah 7:26; 25:4) They did not call on God, seeking his direction. Almost a year later, Zedekiah wasoverthrown, Jerusalem was destroyed, and most of the survivors were captured and taken to Babylon.-Jeremiah 39:1-7.Jeremiah gives this instruction from the lost and thrown into a dungeon cell in prison. Fishing is unpredictable. There is no guarantee of reward. It requires patience and risk. In faith, the fishermen would throw their nets into the deep water, letting it sink into the lake out of sight, and hoping that the reward for their efforts would be a catch. And the end results would either be a good catch or maybe a no catch kindaDay. Christianity isn’t just a fishing story it’s a time of throwing the nets and waiting. It’s a time of using the proper bait, See the proper bait will cause you to get the right thing your fishing for. Would it not be a shame that we would spend our whole lives facing the fact that we did not count the cost of following Jesus? When we get to a certain point in our walk with Christ we realize that there are changes that have to be made.Following Christ and the Grace of Jesus Christ demands change it requires change. Change will cost you something. See often times we hear it doesn’t cost a thing to follow Jesus. Many, times life is up and downs for moms.
They struggle with everyday life skint knees broken hearts and when that little one is sick moms pour everything into making sure that child has everything they need. And truth be told a big percent % of what they want or need. John chapter 16 v 21 Jesus says something so special for a mom to crasp and hold onto. The Journey started in a small little town. And The path itself is less than a half-mile long, but it embodies some of the most vivid and wrenching images in the Bible. It is the Way of the Cross, the path that Jesus walked while carrying his cross from Pontius Pilate's palace to his crucifixion on Mount Calvary, also called Golgotha. The Journey was a difficult journey but while many Would scream yell and mock . Jesus still had love and compassion for them. I want to tell you why I want to hone in on verse 13 and 14 is because this is one of those clear places in the Bible where we’re reminded that for all who have put your faith in Jesus, in the gospel for your salvation, that’s the language here in the beginning of verse 13, “in him,” and him is talking about Jesus. In Jesus, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, when you heard the gospel of how you can be saved by grace alone, not through your works, its through faith alone in Jesus.

- The Birth of Jesus
2 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register.
4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child.6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising Godfor all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.
21 On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he was conceived.
Jesus Presented in the Temple
22 When the time came for the purification rites required by the Law of Moses, Joseph and Mary took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord23 (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, “Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord”[b]), 24 and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord: “a pair of doves or two young pigeons.”[c]
25 Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him. 26 It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Messiah.27 Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the custom of the Law required, 28 Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying:

To begin with, Joseph was the husband of Mary the mother of Jesus but clearly he was not the His biological father. The New Testament makes this point quite emphatically. Matthew explains what occurred in this manner:

Isaiah 43:1-3
I can hardly think of more beautiful words in all of the old testament from God to his people. To say to his people and then just to think about these realities in our own lives right now, through Christ. So obviously it’s not the exact same when God is speaking to Jacob in Israel here in this context, but these are truths,realities we know God has spoken to us, to all who have trusted in Christ as a part of the church – the people of God
When you walk through fire you will not be burned. Now, let this soak in, what he’s saying here. He’s not saying that as his people, as his sons and daughters, his children, that things are going to be easy for us in this world. He’s talking about passing through waters and through rivers. He says when you walk through fire, not if you walk through fire, he’s saying, you’re gonna walk through fire. You’re going to pass through rivers. Things are not always going to go well for you.

Landon’s journey is about a child with such a strong Faith in the Father that it will have you in tears.
We are so humbled to bring you this look at Landon Clay Matheny. He was full of life, a normal healthy kid who loved Jesus, who refused to let an evil disease called DIPG break his spirit.

Mr Elam is one of the live-In House Directors at The Orchard house in Milan Tn. The Orchard House Transitional Home is a faith based 100-capacity house for inmates reentering into society with the goal of reducing recidivism. It is an approved Tennessee Department of Corrections Transitional house with a 12-18-month program. They teach men to reject passivity, to embrace responsibility, to lead courageously, and to invest eternally. The program consists of daily classes on spiritual growth, work ethics and job training, community outreach and service hours. Food, shelter, transportation and assistance with supportive services and education and career goals are provided.
