Good Law Project is an organisation dedicated to using the law to build a better world. Every month we host a livestream on an important political, social or cultural issue, featuring amazing guests and hosted by one of our team. This podcast is our way of letting you catch up in case you missed the action the first time round, or just want to listen again.
Our campaigner Rachel talks with Dale Vince, climate campaigner and founder of Ecotricity. We’ve previously worked with Dale as part of our fight to protect the environment, and we talked with him about his life and why he thinks Britain must have a change of government if it is to play its part in tackling climate change.
Join Brent Central MP Dawn Butler and Good Law Project Executive Director Jolyon Maugham for a discussion of Butler’s new book ‘A Purposeful Life’.
As the first African-Carribean woman to become a Government Minister in this country, the lessons in this book are the culmination of a lifetime of breaking records and speaking up for some of the most marginalised people in society.
Butler has changed countless lives through taking on corruption in institutions such as the Met Police and the NHS, as well as in the corridors of power themselves. In 2021, she was famously thrown out of the House of Commons for calling Boris Johnson a liar.
This podcast is an opportunity to hear Dawn talk candidly about what motivates her to keep going in the face of an increasingly hostile political landscape and to learn from and be inspired by her experiences and achievements.
