It's really more simple than we've made it. God is a relationship, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and He invites us into that relationship to share in His Joy and to be enjoyed. Join us in experiencing a two-way connection with Him each week, as we practice experiential exercises based on Scripture and led by the Spirit. As we build these skills, all aspects of our lives begin to align and transform.
Welcome Back to Season Two of the Align with God Podcast with Bob and Denice
We are focusing in this Season on Aligning with God in Daily Life- because we believe interacting with God in the midst of life’s distractions builds our capacity to stay connected with God and others, even when things get tough. And who doesn't need help navigating distractions? They are everywhere!
We believe exploring life with Him, while learning to stay connected, is truly at the heart of a fulfilling and rich life- because where our connections thrive, our lives thrive also.
God's Presence:
Today we explore how easy it is to get off course from what is truly important- God's presence, our most important connection. We lead you in an exercise in how to refresh his presence- which is always available to us, as we navigate life's roadblocks.
As Bob states, we invite YOU to join us in this epic journey to discover who this relational God truly is, as together we study scriptures, focus on Jesus and interact with His Spirit…..

Are you aware you are in a spiritual battle for your soul, and that you have a part to play in that battle? Does your church train you how to fight? Did you know that God wants you to learn to use the weapons He has given you? Luke 10:19 states that God has given you authority over ALL the power of the enemy so that NOTHING will injure you. As we learn to take up the weapons He has given us, we can be victorious in areas of our lives we deemed hopeless. If this is unfamiliar territory to you, welcome to your first training! Stay for the exercise at the end where you will be walked through a prayer that will help to set you free.

Other enemy strategies:
Include lying (John 8:32, 44), anger (Ephesians 4:26–27),, sin of all kinds, (Ephesians 2:12; 1 John 3:8–10), accusations and insinuations (Revelation 12:10), temptation (1 Corinthians 7:5; 1 Thessalonians 3:5), contact with the occult (Deuteronomy 18:10–13), and drug and alcohol abuse (Galatians 5:21).
Checklist of past activities for people to examine to determine possible occult footholds:
• Contact with occult activity (Deuteronomy 18:9–13)
• Personal invitation for demonic guidance and help (2 Corinthians 11:4), such as from a “spirit guide”
• Drug and alcohol abuse involvement (Ephesians 4:20–22)
• Perpetual sin (Ephesians 4:27), such as porn, or any addiction
• Idolatry (Exodus 20:5–6)
Identity issues- this could be gender identity, confusion about your gifting and calling, your purpose, your role in life, etc….the enemy really goes after this…
• An undisciplined or “out of control” mind (2 Corinthians 10:3–5)
• Sexual sin

Do you find stubborn patterns in your life that hinder you from experiencing God's full victory he has won on the cross for you? Maybe they're lies or fears you've believed about yourself, God or others. In this podcast you'll learn where they come from, and the authority God has given you over them. The exercise will walk you through a prayer to begin taking back those areas from the enemy. It will also review misunderstandings that many Christians have in walking out their true authority over darkness to let God shine through them with his message to the world. Bottom line: Learning basic spiritual warfare is a much needed skill in recognizing when we are getting tempted to not focus on Jesus. Nonetheless, God teaches us that our focus needs always to be on God and that our "names are written in heaven".

God loves to give us good things, He is a Giver! But when it comes to asking for what we need, we can take our focus off of God's generous nature and get into errors that make it hard for us to receive the blessings He has for us. Some of these are forgetting our needs and not asking at all, asking with a demanding posture or one that is transactional and not relational, and we can also sometimes give up asking if our prayers are not answered. This podcast will help you to find a healthy balance in how we approach a Holy God to meet our needs.
The exercise starts around the 28 mark in the podcast if you need to skip ahead to that.

Bob and Denice discuss 9 barriers to hearing God's voice that we have found prevalent among those we have worked with. They are: 1) Unbelief, that is not believing God wants to talk to us in any other way than through the Bible, 2) Not being able to quiet our minds 3) Not being grateful, 4) Filtering what we hear 5) Distractions 6) Lack of Deep Surrender 7) Past or present involvement with the occult, knowingly or unknowingly, 8) Family of origin wounds and 9) Unforgiveness.
We walk you through a few exercises one at the beginning to Quiet, and one about half way through to engage you with God to discover your biggest barriers in hearing from Him.

Everyone knows we live in a stress filled world, and that stress is harmful to us in many ways. But did you know Jesus offers a solution for stress that is 100% relational? He wants us to go to him instead of our phones, our work outs, our addictions and actually let him teach us how to live life differently, with him and not for him.
Today's podcast shares practical ways to actually multi-task with Him, come out from the yoke of stress and take on His easy and light way of life. He is willing to get into the trenches of daily life with you, which is what the yoke is all about!

What is the significance of living according to God's true identity for you?
The problem is there are so many voices trying to define us, that it's hard to know who we are created to be sometimes. There are many personality tests, but my favorite is to just ask Jesus. Learn in this podcast how to avoid pleasing others and learn the freedom of living authentically, without doubt and with true joy, as you step into alignment with how God truly sees you. Enjoy this interaction with God, and have fun with it. He knows you better than anyone, because He is your creator!

Did you know the skill of quieting is one of the strongest predictors for good mental health across the lifespan? Then why do so few Americans even want to learn how to quiet? It's as if "busy" has become an answer to "how are you?" We've become so identified with the "busy" epidemic through distractions, media, and "more is better", that we hardly notice it's more lethal than any virus. It eventually catches up with not only our bodies, but our minds, souls and spirits as well.
In this episode we are going to unpack what quieting has to do with relationships and our attachment to God and others. Even if we think we have never learned to quiet, never could, we actually already have learned to quiet. We just need to learn to do it more and recognize our need for it. When practiced for just a few minutes per day, this exercise over time will re-ignite and strengthen your attachment bonds and your ability to let them quiet you, with both God and others. Its sure to become a part of your lifestyle and one of your favorite skills.
