Being dyslexic is not a disability it’s a skill. It’s all about how your brain processes things and how you deal with this different way of learning. Stuart Byrne was diagnosed at age 8. Mauro de Bettio was born in Italy and discovered his passion for travelling late in life. He started his adventures, in his now second home, India. When Nicole Torres Byrne faced a Gibraltar, 26 years ago, with very little in place to support families with disabled children, she decided she needed to do something about it. She met her dear friend Agnes Valarino the then chairperson of the Gibraltar Disability Society, founded in 1966 by a group of parents with children with disabilities and immediately Nicole decided to get involved. She quit her job and decided to get fully involved in how the Society could improve and help local families. She is now a Supported Internship & Employment Co-ordinator and one of her roles is to help young adults with disabilities find a job and lead as normal a life as possible.
