In this Episode, Colin is joined by Sam Tumberg, Owner of Purpose Filled Habitat Management based out of Minnesota. Sam talks about his background how he grew up hunting on their family dairy farm as a young man, and his journey as a bow hunter and habitat manager. Colin talks about how both of their farms are very similar in many different ways, and both have done similar habitat improvements. Sam talks about switchgrass planting methods, what his main goals are when using switchgrass, and some of the ways he has enhanced his switchgrass for bedding. Sam and Colin discuss some of their experiences after visiting with many clients who utilize switchgrass on their property and talk about their observations. Sam Talks about old field management and how to go about killing and managing cool-season grasses to promote more forbs and woody browse within these open areas on his property. Colin Talks about planting pollinator blends in areas where there are very little native seeds in the seed bank, and also how to fallow some areas to reduce his herbicide use on his farm. In this episode, Colin Is joined by well-renowned Michigan whitetail bow hunter John Eberhart.

John discusses how he breaks down both public and private land hunting locations. John goes into detail about what to look for when scouting these areas, and how to hunt them with many outside factors that are continually changing.

John talks about the Importance of Security cover and details how to hunt these bedding areas, and how many times he hunts them before moving to a new location.

Colin discusses with John how security cover can be too thick, and deer will not want to use those areas. Colin Gives an example of similar situations on personal and client properties.

John gives an example of a property he was scouting for another landowner and how important the surrounding properties play into your hunting success.

John goes into some things he uses E-scouting for, and also the things that cannot be seen just by using E-scouting.

Colin talks about situations where boots-on-the-ground scouting or consulting is critical for a client's success and his ability to give solid recommendations to a hunter/landowner.

In this episode, Colin is joined by a good friend and Whitetail Habitat Consultant Jake Hendrickson.

Jake tells the story of his most recent mature buck he harvested on his highly managed Michigan property, and how he strategically created a game plan to get this buck in daylight and have an encounter with him, and his plan was executed perfectly.

Colin Gives an update on how his season has gone thus far, a recent encounter with a great 3-year-old buck he calls "Crab Claw 7", and several other Hunting observations he has made on how the deer are using new habitat improvements on the farm this year.

Jake and Colin Discuss some of the observations they have made about buck's core areas and home ranges, and how that is very dependent on your buck to doe ratio, habitat quality, and hunting pressure.

Colin Discusses Hunting Scrapes and some key things to be looking for right now with collecting the most recent data and observations. Jake and Colin talk about several situations were having lots of mock scrapes on your property can really increase daylight mature buck activity on your property.

Lastly we wrap things up by discussing what might be one of the greatest weeks of the season, breaking down why this weather front is so good, and some other key tips when breaking down weather for mature buck activity.

In this Episode, Colin is Joined by Jake Ehlinger owner of Habitat Solutions 360.

Jake first talks about managing your timber in high deer density situations where it can be hard to keep diverse quality native habitat thriving with so many deer browsing on it constantly. He also talks about how he cuts on a property, to make it easy to maintain, and maximize space within a bedding area.

Next, Jake talks about how he started planting food plots and how much he has learned. He talks about different planting methods he has used, how he has integrated cover crops into his food plots, and also the recent use of Plot Dr products from Harper Growing Solutions, to maximize his food plot yields.

Colin then talks about his use of high-diversity food plot blends, what he has learned from them over the years, and how to always have plenty of different types of food plot plants on your property to help with drought and browse pressure.

To wrap things up, Jake discusses some great key observations that he has made to create a good early-season strategy for getting on potential bucks in October. He also talks about the importance of taking advantage of cold fronts, and how key the weather can be during the early season.
