In this episode I talked with Wesley Bouska who is a Fish Biologist in the La Crosse, WI area. In his work at the US Fish and Wildlife Service he deals mainly with invasive species and his biggest focus lately has been dealing with silver carp in the Upper Mississippi River. These fish are known for jumping out of the water in large schools especially when passed by motor boats. Wes gave some amazing insight into the battle to slow the spread of these fish. They have many negative effects on native species, game fish, and recreational usage of the river system.
In this episode I'm joined by YouTuber and tournament angler Lucas Risser. He gave up some awesome info on current Mississippi River conditions around pool 10 and pool 11. We also dove into some of his tips and tricks for bass fishing in mid May and what the current conditions are on the bass spawn. Make sure you check him out on Facebook and subscribe to his YouTube channel!
