We are finally ending season 4 ! That was a (very very very) long ride.
I love this episode ! It's definitely a better way to end a season than what they did with season 3.
So many things happened, this episode is very long so make yourself comfortable, take a nice cup of tea, coffee, hot chocolate or whatever and let's dive in the London season of 1923.
PS : The Americans are in London !
Are you ready for one of my favorite episodes ? And no it's not just because there's my favorite Cobert scene. So much is happening, Edith tries to find a solution to her situation, Isobel has a suitor, Mary still has too many, it's the end of our love triangle, there's still no rest for Anna and Bates and Robert is back ! Yeah ! And I try to find out when Robert was born, anyway. Enjoy !
This is probably one of my favorite titles so far, I know it's silly but I like it. The pigs play a huge part in this episode, they deserve some appreciation. Anyway. Other than that Robert leaves for America, Violet is ill, Edith doesn't know what to do and Mary finds herself covered in mud. Enjoy !
We are finally entering the part of season 4 that I do like. And it's Robert's birthday, yeah ! And birthday means surprises and there's a lot of them in this episode. Evelyn is back (yeah again) and brings with him his boss and let's just say that him and Mary's meeting is electric.

Merry Christmas guys ! I'm happy to end this year on a bit less depressing episode, there's a lot happening here not everything is super fun but it's still less heartbreaking and depressing than episodes 3&4.
I'll see you next year to continue season 4.

The episode starts the day after the concert and as we know a lot happened during the concert and this party. The bright side of this episode a very annoying/irritating character is leaving for good.
This episode is one of the most heartbreaking of the show (and revolting one), I don't think I need to explain why. And a new annoying/boring character makes his entrance so if you ad this to the fact than Edna is still here, well, you have me being annoyed/angry for half the episode.
But Cora and Robert are really funny and cute so it makes up a bit for the rest, I guess.
A letter from Matthew might change things at Downton and Robert is not very pleased about it. Carson has some unfinished business with Mr Grigg, Molesley is not in a very good place and Edna annoys me just by being here.
Hi guys ! I'm happy to be back ! Thank you for your patience ! Let's start season 4 together and well, this episode is quite sad, last episode we lost Matthew and Mary and Isobel are still grieving
Hello ! It's the end of season 3 ! The family goes to Scotland, the servants go to a fair, lots of things happen, Mary and Matthew have a baby, and the end hurts like hell.
It's cricket time ! Aka (one of) the most important thing for Robert. Thomas is really not in a good place but Bates comes to the rescue (yes I know shocking). We have quite a big argument about the management of Downton and we meet a new character, Lady Rose.
This episode is way happier than the one before ! Bates is free and Cora and Robert are properly back together. There are still some issues especially with the management of Downton and Thomas gets himself in trouble.
Sybil is dead, Cora is angry at Robert, she's heartbroken, he's heartbroken, Tom is heartbroken, we're heartbroken, everyone is heartbroken.
Downstairs they're all in love with the wrong people and Anna finally brings some good news.

This was a very very hard episode to make (I ended up crying more than once). This storyline is the one that moves me the most and every time, without fail, it breaks my heart.
Now that Matthew is co-owner of Downton they can have new staff and obviously, Carson is delighted. Edith finds herself a new occupation, Ethel makes a tough decision and Tom and Sybil are back but not for good reasons...
It's wedding day, again, at the Abbey ! But unfortunately this time it does not end well. Meanwhile Molesley spreads a rumour about Miss O'Brien, Mrs Hughes has her tests results and Mary and Matthew are still arguing about his inherited money.
Mary and Matthew are back from their honeymoon and there's still no solution about the money problem. But Martha is still here, which gives an idea to Mary and Violet. Meanwhile there are some troubles downstairs and some shirts are missing...
Church bells are ringing, Mary & Matthew are getting married ! Well before going down the aisle a lot of things happen because you know, there's no such thing as a smooth crossing in Downton Abbey. And in all this wedding panic, we meet Martha Levinson, Cora's mother, for the first time.
It's Christmas time at Downton ! And even if there's some angst in this episode we can say that the holiday season brings happy endings !
The Spanish flu arrives at Downton, people are ill, someone dies, angst ahoy !

The war might be over but there's still a lot of angst in this epsiode. A “miracle” happens, Sybil makes a decision, Thomas might have made a wrong one, Richards asks something of Anna and Cora and Robert's relationship is getting worse...
The war is about to be over but Mary is a bit to attached to Matthew which annoys Richard Carlisle and Cora. Bates and Anna still have problems to solve and a Major arrives at Downton claiming that he has a connection to the family...
Mary has to face the consequences of her actions once again and Matthew and William have been wonded. Unfortunately one of them will not make it...
We have the climax of our fight between Isobel and Cora, Ethel gets into trouble, Mr Molesley is bored and Mrs Bird allies herself with Mrs Patmore to help men from the village. Robert goes to see Bates while Matthew and William are MIA.
The house is turned into a convalescence home and everyone try to adapt to this new situtation but Isobel thinks she can rule the place to Cora's dismay. Violet and Rosamund plot to get Lavinia out of the picture because "she's an obstacle to Mary's happiness". Edith finds a purpose and Anna sees Bates in the village...
Another long episode today !
We meet Sir Richard Carlisle, “Matthew's replacement", Thomas is back in town, there's a new valet and we almost lost Carson. No wonder the episodes are getting longer when “there's never a dull moment in this house".
