The quote I was trying to remember was one that has generally been attributed to Sen. Everett Mckinley Dirksen (R-IL) - who died in September 1969 when the deficit was hovering around 350,000,000,000 - "a billion here, a billion there, and pretty soon you're talking real money".

Well, I think we had some fun today. Snopes claims Alex was mostly accurate to fear her life was endangered, despite not being in the Capitol during the mostly peaceful protest. The conservatives are making a false equivalence by comparing Ilhan Omar's hate-inciting statements to some cooky claims Marjorie Taylor Greene has made because Omar wants Medicare-for-all, so therefore nothing she says could be bad. And Alan Dershowitz wants to increase relations with the Diaspora by getting the rabbinate out of politics.
Today's conversation we discussed just why the elites are so eager to champion social justice ideals, and who exactly suffers from their policies.
