Welcome back to Episode 2 of BkSuga’s TV: Brooklyn’s Finest with Riah Regime. Today we have a special guest, Riah Regime who is a musical genius. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Riah has been rapping since the age of 15 and is currently experimenting with the infusion of southern lingo and beats to influence a new sound for New York. As of now, Riah Regime steadily works on his album Think Then talk, which you could stream on SoundCloud at Riah_Regime, and follow his other projects from 2017 project Enigma.
Welcome to Episode 3 of BkSuga’s Tv Genre Fluidity with Krystal Ssonko. Krystal Ssonko is a 22 yr old singer-songwriter from Stamford CT. Growing up Krystal always found joy in performance and the ability to tell stories and inspire people through the arts. This love led her to join acapella, dance, and theatre groups in college as well as minoring in ethnomusicology (the study of world music). Now as a recent graduate Krystal has been preparing for the release of her first demo, titled “naive”. “Naive” focuses on the topics of self-love, loss, and feelings that often center around the experience of leaving adolescence and entering young adulthood. Krystal would describe herself as genre-fluid. She believes that oftentimes when it comes to music people limit the creative process and musical palettes of artists by labeling them too early into their career. Krystal hopes that when people hear her music they will feel validated, affirmed, and encouraged knowing they’re not alone in this journey we call life.--
Welcome to Episode #1 of BkSuga's TV: I Put My Faith In Jesus: Ahava Yahew. In this episode interview Danielle McConnell who takes social justice and her Christian faith to the streets of Boston to help BIPOC teens. In her organization, Ahava Yahew, which means to "love God" in Hebrew, McConnell teaches members of her group three pillars: education, Christian faith, and community service. In addition to focusing on these three pillars, McConnell has recently held a back-to-school drive that centered on giving school supplies to BIPOC teens in Boston and was able to sell over 100 books, backpacks, and other school supplies.
