The Department of Biological Systems Engineering shares the roles as a Land Grant Institution and a member of the Association of American Universities with missions in teaching, research, extension, and service.
The department is uniquely situated in both the College of Engineering and the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources (IANR) through the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (CASNR). Its connectivity with other academic units through joint faculty appointments, and having faculty at research and extension centers throughout Nebraska, is a source of strength and support for our departmental missions.
