With the help of 300+ volunteers, more than 1,200 athletes are able to participate in more than 90 events over Memorial Day Weekend each year.

Dan Slapak is a Hearing Instrument Specialist working in Miracle-Ear's Chesterfield location. He's a St. Louis native and is proud to call it home. He says the deep community traditions in areas like Kirkwood and Webster Groves is why St. Louis is one of the greatest places to live and raise a family. "The most enjoyable and rewarding part of my profession is the ability to help my patients. I've learned that this career is not a "9-5." My patients have very different schedules, and I will continue to do everything in my power to accommodate their needs, whenever they require it."

As a Foster Grandparent, a senior volunteer serves as a role model, a mentor and a friend. Foster grandparents volunteer at Head Start Centers, schools and other nonprofit youth facilities. They help children learn to read, provide one-on-one tutoring and guide children at a critical time in their lives. A Foster Grandparent volunteer gives the kind of comfort and love that sets a child on the path toward a successful future.
