Sarah laughed and mocked God when He said that she would have Abraham's child, even in her late age. In the even, God even redeems Sarah’s laughter. He turned her mocking response into statement of His favor. And Now we see Sarah in the light of faith. With God, all things are possible.

True love can accomplish so much more than we understand. It is the force that caused God to send Jesus, what held Jesus to the cross, what called Him from the tomb, and it is what our God is made of. True love will change us, our outlook toward others, the world and everything in it. But only when we submit to it and become agents of this love.

We often seem to want to justify our hatred of someone by exclaiming all they did to us. We make excuses because of the level of hurt or betrayal that someone issued to us. But we find no loophole in the Bible for hatred. Even if the claim is made that we're only to love our brothers and sisters in Christ, the problem is that Jesus went beyond just loving each other and commanded us to love even our enemies.

One of the deepest revelations we need as children of God is of the love of our Father God. For many believers, at first glance, the love of God may seem simple, but until we receive God’s love for us, we are incapable of truly loving others. In fact, we can't grow up into all God has for us until we become settled in His love.

The seasons of our life change. It may be the only true constant, other than our God, that we can count on. Change happens. Relationships change. Often, even if we don’t want them to end, relationships often do. Marriages that were thought to be a forever thing often come to an end. Jobs that we thought were secure often come to an end. People die unexpectedly and we are often unprepared for these hard transitions in our lives.
We have to learn how to handle the difficult transitions without letting go of our hope or our faith. We have to remind ourselves that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Even though seasons change, He does not. Nor does His purpose or plan for us.

What you exit one season with, you will enter the next one with. How you end one will be how you enter the next one. It is so important that healing takes place. If you transition from one relationship into another without getting healing or some resolve, you will take all the hurt from that relationship into the next one.

To simply desire something to change, will not change anything. To want for something, or to wish something would happen is not enough. Ecclesiastes 5:3 says that a dream comes to pass through the abundance of effort. Dreams rarely, if ever, just come true without someone putting some time and effort into bringing it to pass. So if you want something to be different, what are you doing about it?

If you have worked to un-clutter Christmas this year, then maybe the after-Christmas funk will not be as bad for you this year. But even with keeping the right focus, working to magnify the Lord through it all, and celebrating Jesus Christ, you may find yourself a bit overwhelmed with the afterburn of it all.. Post-holiday depression can be real but the very title is dramatic, to say the least. Maybe we should learn to un-clutter it by refocusing it. Instead of seeing it as the blues see it as getting life back to normal. Maybe you can see it as post-holiday normalization.

What we magnify fills our vision and our thoughts. It becomes difficult to focus on anything else because what we magnify becomes so big in our eyes. What we magnify will become big in our life. It becomes difficult to see beyond it. We have to declutter ourselves from the lies that we have magnified in order to see the truth.

The true story surrounding Christmas is filled with mysteries and impossibilities. A virgin receives a mystical visitation from a being that tells her that she has been chosen by God and that she will be overshadowed by the Holy Spirit of God, conceive a child and that that child will be great and save His people from their sins. A promised husband finds out she is pregnant and plans to quietly put her away but he also has a mystical angelic encounter where he is instructed from another realm what he should do. All of this is very much not normal behavior and yet we read it as if it is normal. Still, the entire story is filled with unbelievable impossibilities.

We hear people saying the church is full of hate and hypocrisy. And though there's no doubt that there are individuals who may be, do we really have to agree on everything someone says or does in order to truly love them? Did Jesus love everyone? Being aware of your weaknesses is actually a strength. It is when we refuse to admit our weaknesses and refuse to reach out to God, and to others, for help that we open ourselves up to failure. The in-filling of Holy Spirit, second work of grace or Baptism of the Holy Spirit, whatever you want to call it, is for us today. Not everyone agrees and that is ok. The message of sonship, and understanding who we are in Christ, should lead us to the understanding of our authority in the Kingdom of God. As sons grow up they realize they have a job to do in their father's business. We have been brought into the Kingdom, or born again into the Kingdom of God and have authority as sons of God. We must learn to use this authority. A King without authority is just a figure head that really does nothing but look good for the public. We are called to make a difference.

So much of our lives revolves around our wallet or purse - it often contains currency, our identifications, and many other every-day items. When we lose it, we often panic and feel anxiety and stress. While we know our wallet is not where we find our value, if everything in it was taken, we would feel vulnerable to our value being stripped from us. That's why it's important to note that we are the "living letters written by Christ." Our identity and value has to be found in who we are in Him. When our value is set by the constant of Christ, it can never be stripped or taken from us.

We experience growing pains — rapid growth that sometimes makes us feel like we are being crushed. We often don’t even fully understand the cause but we know the pain is real. So very real. We are now in Christ, and His glory and power is at work in us and through us. This is how we co-labor with Him. We have been studying our call to co-labor with Christ. Today, we'll end this study by looking at what it means for us to be in Christ and for Christ to live in us.

We are called to work in co-operation with God, by the power of His Holy Spirit, in establishing the Kingdom. Paul addresses the fact that in the early church some were claiming to follow one man or another, but Paul was making it clear that we all follow Christ. He establishes men to extend His Kingdom but only God can bring growth or give increase.

God has chosen to work in and through humanity in this world. This is the amazing thing. It would seem God has limited Himself by depending on us. Yet, Paul tells us that God will be glorified and His greatness made clear by the work that He does through mankind. We have been saved by the grace of God and empowered by that same grace to co-labor with Christ on the same mission that He was on while He was among us. That is why it is called the great commission.
