"Don't be an excuser" was a quote that I invented some time ago because I was tired of watching people making excuses for everything!
And for the past months, I was myself an excuser, guilty as charged!
But there was one thing I didn't stop doing was stopping!
I can take breaks..do other things offline..sleep more, especially sleep because I've been sleep-deprived for a long time and my body is not taking it anymore.
But I keep trying to do things! I will always try!
I won't wait for others to do things for me, I have to do it myself! If other people do things that can be useful for me, great!
I research, I ask or simply do things that I know and try to keep doing them.
I can stop for a short while but I will always come back!
And I will repeat myself as many times as I need to not only for myself but maybe others will need this too!

On March 19th we celebrate Father's Day here in Portugal and probably many other countries.
Some new people checking my blog might not know but I live on an island, a bit far away from my hometown, far away from my side of the family.
The downside is not seeing my parents as often as I would like to so I either ask my mother to bake or buy something for Dad for me on this day or my brother takes care of it.
This year I decided to record a video!
It's not a poem but it could be lol
The video is in Portuguese of course, but I'll try to translate it below:
My hero doesn't wear a cape
My hero was a soccer player, and I inherited the love for Benfica and I was one of the best goalkeepers in school wearing his gloves and padded shorts.
My hero was annoying...When I wanted help with homework he would send me to his office and ask me to go search in the books, and I inherited the art of managing things on my own.
My hero gave me my first Harry Potter book before it was what it is today, and I inherited, eventually, the love for reading.
My hero gave me the best musical education I could ever have, from Queen to Pink Floyd, and I inherited the love for music.
My hero has saved many lives, from a ship on fire to help a baby be born on a sidewalk, and I inherited the art of taking care of others.
My hero doesn't wear a cape, he wears shorts and a T-shirt all year!
*He's far away from being perfect, I also inherited his bad temper and stubbornness, but I wouldn't trade it for anything!

Things are slightly better so far...as long as I have treatments booked for me the time flies and I can go back home and call it a day!
I also have to stop worrying this much...just keep doing what I know, help as much as I can and always...ALWAYS show kindness!

A very quick video of my February painting evolution!
Time to time I would take a picture of my progress so I could turn into a video!
I started this hobby/therapy in January with another painting before this one. It's painted by numbers, so each space has a number that corresponds to a colour. It music is my ultimate therapy and a good addiction lol
The goal is to paint one different per month and I already bought new paintings!

I tried to find the translation of the lyrics because I already failed on the video saying that "só gosto de ti" is "I just like you" but it makes more sense to say "I only like you" lol
Anyway...it reminds me of when my husband and I were dating!
We lived for a few years in a long-distance relationship as he is from the island we live in and I'm from the mainland! He was studying in Lisbon back then and I was living with my parents on the other side of the Tagus (or Tejo in Portuguese) river in Almada.
We would use the ships passing both sides of the river as public transport to be together!

I pushed myself to do this and it felt good!
I am catching you up with the changes in the last few weeks about my future at the Spa!
Overall, I'll keep myself as a hotel employee, with a permanent contract and all but with new management! Many changes were made, which was predictable, but I guess I got overwhelmed with it!
Forgot to say the closing time is lunch time for 2 hours, which can be a peaceful time at the spa, but we the Spa also manage the door for the wet area (jacuzzis, sauna, steam room). But with the anonymous complaint, one of my co-workers reached an agreement with the spa managers and I ended up doing the same, so we only have 1-hour lunch like always and we stay at the reception at their second lunch hour...I was actually open to the 2-hour lunch time but they asked me not to do it...sooo I keep the same shift as always..at least that didn't change lol
But as an anxious overthinker all of this messed up my head lol
I'll be strong keep my cool and go with the flow!
There are good things with this: we are not alone anymore with more therapists coming in, I have my days off as Sunday and Monday, one day for David and one for myself!
Ah I remembered one bad thing: I won't be doing reception work anymore with them around so I cannot thread or do other online stuff on the spa PC anymore ahahah there is always the phone but I try to keep it in my pocket as much possible when I am near them for now lol
Second bad thing: not only losing the same day off as my husband, but also Thursdays were my nutritionist appointments, which I don't wanna lose but I'll manage, I hope! I won't lose my weight-loss track either!
Do you see why I'm anxious? And eventually stressed lolol so many things!!

My guilty pleasure recently has been creating Reels on Instagram where I react to song compilations to see if I know the song or not.
As soon as I see a Reel about music I turn it off right away and start the Reel so the reaction can be as raw as possible lol
In the past year I started a "career" as a lipsynker. I still do those and save them as a highlight on my Instagram profile. Some I posted here in the past like my Linkin Park compilation, my favourite band of all time.
I will eventually compile the other stories into one video one day if you would like to see that crazy side as a lipsynker lol

The feeling of uncertainty sill remains but as long as I keep my permanent contract and keep working at the spa, there is still hope!
No matter who's in charge or how things might work for now on, as long as I can heal people with my hands, that's all that matters!
But the sense of stability is something that I didn't have for a long time as a freelancer and I kind of don't wanna go back to those times..

A big twist of events happened today at the Spa!
Our Spa Manager decided to go on other adventures leaving us kind of alone...
The Hotel decided to bring an external Spa company to take over and explore it, like they do in other hotels from the same group, which is understandable that is needed but that means if I want to keep working as a massage therapist I will be transfered to that company...which made me anxious..
What about my current contract? Will this new company hire me even so? What about the benefits and rights as a permanent contract (this is what I wanted to say in video but lost my words lol)?
I'm not afraid of the change, I just need to know my rights..I'm going to get some answers from the labour inspection so I can be prepared for what is coming!

Madeira Island is well know by its awesome New Year's fireworks!
As every year, I always try to record it. My view is a bit high up in the mountains. The normal duration is 8 minutes total but I only recorded just a couple of minutes at the begining.
This new year was special...My son was very afraid of the noise during the previous new year's eve and he conquered last minute..this year he is not afraid anymore! In fact, during the video he says "Mommy I like it!"
So yeah...I'm a prod momma lol

Playing games is a good escape from reality too! I like to play on our Nintendo Switch with David of Guild Wars on the PC.
Speaking of games, I like text-based games or idle games like @dcrops and @risingstargame, but outside Hive I play Amaranthine and also one that I was invited to play by the @hive.pizza boys called Kings of Chaos!
Being with others is also a good idea to avoid isolation for too long!

Hey all!
I finally got the time and strength to gather up my little videos on my adventure at this year's Summer Opening Music Festival here on the island!
For 10 years they have been doing this festival so this year was special with two weekends instead of one weekend or a few days like they did in the past, which had more music guests involved!
I never got interested in the festival to be honest because it was either to go alone or it's always when I'm working or the guests wouldn't get my attention...
But as soon as someone told me that Hybrid Theory was coming, holy shit I had to go even if it was alone which I did lol
Is a Portuguese band tributing Linkin Park and they have been such a big success that they have been all over the world keeping Chester alive!
As a huge fan of Linkin Park, I had to be there of course!

So I gather up, again, Instagram stories from the day! There were other musicians that I didn't know so was a new breath of fresh air for my love for music! Not to mention that there were also some DJs playing electronic music in another corner of the festival so I would jump around during the afternoon/night while waiting anxiously for the last band!
It was so worth it!
I jumped so much and screamed so loud that my voice was garbage at the end! And I was like in a hangover the next day and I swear I didn't drink alcohol lol
I loved it so much! Chester must be proud up there watching these guys and keep his legacy!

On the 20th of July marks the death of one of my dearest singers of all time..
6 years ago Chester Bennington took his own life after dealing with depression for so long...
His songs saved so many lives, including mine, and none of us could save him, but I will always keep him alive as long as I live by listening to his music!

Sometimes is a struggle to create content, even for me!
Not that I lack ideas, but every time I have one I write it down, that's a tip that I always give to everyone because I never trust my memory! Write everything down!
However, my struggle is more of time management, it will always be! But I do my best to at least block a few minutes a day to write them and eventually I'll schedule them.
Anyway, for those who still struggle with what to write or also time management, there are many other ways to grow your account!
I'll go into detail on the video but here are the mentioned that I personally use:
Hive.vote - fanbaseThere are a few other things that you can do on this platform, like the curation trails. I started on those but eventually moved myself to the fanbase, a list of favorite authors that I know provide quality content consistently that I don't want to miss so I give them my automatic upvote(s).
DelegationThere are a vast variety of projects that I don't even know that probably reward you with a token or Hive while you delegate your tokens.
At the moment, I have Hive Power delegated to @leo.voter, which rewards me in LEO, @monster-curator which rewards me in SPT, @hive.pizza rewards me in PIZZA, @ctpsb in CTP and @brofi in BRO.
I also have other tokens delegated to projects to help out others grow their accounts, like CTP to @eddie-3speak and @ctpsb :)
Only mentioned a few in the video, my bad 😋
Delegations can be created for example on Hive-Engine or PeakD wallet. There are others I'm sure but these are what I use the most.
LeasingSpeaking of Hive-Engine, you can delegate your HP by leasing to someone. At the very top of the page, you will see the Lease link.
You can check who is asking for the lease and how much and how long they need the lease.
Income TokensThat was the word I was trying to remember lol
Income tokens are meant to buy and hold so they will reward you with other tokens.
INDEX is my priority at the moment!
But also invested in some BRO tokens which is rewarding LGN and those give me HIVE weekly.
Rinse and re-invest! The best Circle of Life!
Manual CurationThere's nothing better than to go "old school" and go through the feeds!
@ecency is awesome on the go! The feature of adding an author as a favorite to get a new post notification is a must!
For content discovery, there are a few platforms already at your disposal: Veews, ListNerds, and CTPX!
GamingSome games are very time-consuming and for others, you can still play away from the keyboard but their tokens can be traded in HIVE or thrown to the pools.
Speaking of pools...
Diesel PoolsIs another good way to "stake" some pairs and get rewarded. At the moment I only have the DEC/SPS and SWAP.HIVE/PIZZA pairs are more active.

I'm sure that I'm missing other ways, Hive is always growing and new things will come eventually!

Working with people and trying to give the best support I can is not a big deal, what bugs me is when people decide to give up right on the first obstacle they come across!

There's a special mission in which you must have 1 million STARBITS on Hive-Engine so you can earn the Millionaire Card and then you can do the mission! It is a mission that you can do once a day and you get 10k STARBITS right away! And only found out recently that the STARBITS earned on that mission goes to another place and not the usual ingame wallet that you see at the top.
Anyway, I had so many STARBITS gathered "out of sight" that I used all of it to buy packs!

I finally set up the payment section with HivePay so you can now purchase the products inside with LISTNERDS! And other tokens that I need to organize but HIVE, HBD, CTP and LISTNERDS are there :)

I rambled about my gamer status at the moment but that wasn't the point of the recording lol
It's been a while last time I opened some packs! And today is a different game:
DCrops it's been around for a while but I kept myself away from the game because I was sure I would like it and then I would be a nolifer, even more, lol but with the addition of the Beta Packs recently, I decided to give it a shot.
It seems that you could open the cards a couple of days ago and I thought it just started today so my bad!
There are quite a few updates within the game, making it even more interesting so I guess it was a good time to dive in!
There are a lot of things that I need to learn about the game but getting the "shakey shakey" moment from a couple of legendaries that I got, was worth everything!

I finally unlocked the Abandoned Ruins!
This part was where I would go most of the playtime at My Time At Portia and their work on SandRock is awesome! There are some improvements! It's organized in different levels where you can see what you can mine from them. Also, ores are different from the rest so it's easier to detect and have better choices in spending our stamina!
And I ended with some social time with some friends and playing games!

As I try to gather up resources, either from the Recycler, which is a great machine to have but also from buying while I still don't know where to get certain things, I remembered to check it out the Research Center! It seems more organized compared to Portia, you can choose which machine's diagrams and how many Data Discs you need to get. I recall that on Portia it was random according to the number of Data Discs you would give to the Center.
There is also the Knowledge section where you can choose which skills you wanna get first and add the points you earn while levelling up. I think there was something similar on Portia too.
Slowly I learn about the folks of Sandrock. Amirah is beautiful by the way!
And, of course, I love to explore the map! The landscape designs are awesome!

Got a little glimpse of fighting! That seems a bit better compared to Portia, I can more a bit easier now and I picked a big sword for the tutorial!
And I got my first big Job! Building big things is challenging when we need to salvage most of our parts for it. Good thing I got a recycler! The furnace of course would come sooner or later, already started to stock some mats!

As I told you in a previous gaming post, I'll be sharing my gameplay on My Time at Sandrock!
This game is on pre-release so they are still working on it but I couldn't wait and bought it and started to play!
And I thought that it would be fun to record the gameplay!
So I already recorded a few videos with just the game, no me talking, just pure gameplay with the sounds of the game!
There is still a lot of loading to do since it's still on pre-release so I edited the recording and you won't get the long loading parts.
In the first 30-ish minutes of the game, I created my avatar and checked the story. I'm pretty much a Builder in the Wild West so material-gathering seems a bit more tricky compared to My Time at Portia. There are familiar things from the other game but there are also a lot of changes like instant building for some items and saving the game on the spot and not just saving when you go to sleep like in Portia.

You will see that I like to follow the story as well as to explore and see the view! I like the graphics! But I need to build a sword soon before exploring more lol

I decided to stop tracking gaming goals and keep this casual!
I'll keep tracking some tokens like SPT and ONEUP but I'll leave it for the MiyHiveGoals post!
A new reward system arrived in the SplinterWorld and it's been treating me well so far!
Some will love, some will hate, but the fact is it's still time-consuming but I've been playing more now than before. Maybe because my confidence is up with the winnings and getting more rewards chests, I'll use that while it lasts and record some of my little gaming!
Speaking of gaming, I also want to share some gaming content about a different game...
It is not on the blockchain, it is now play2earn.
It's just a regular game on Steam.
I've been recording the gameplay of it while enjoying for blocks of 30-ish minutes any now and then and I want to share it on Hive of course!
The thing is that I'm not sure which tags I can use them!
Maybe #splinterlands is not appropriate for it, but maybe #oneup?

In the video I mention a challenge we had in the past, we had two actually but the one I wanted to really mention was the content challenge Jon and Blain threw that of course I had to join, and it was very challenging due to a new job and moving houses while doing it! I did it though!
Landmines - You can promote your links at the end of your posts as a signature or during the post, just don't push it too much. One day you will build a trust enough for people checking them!

I have a confession and don't tell the Boys as I'm sure the whip will crack and put me back to work...
But I got a new game on my phone just to see if what was being promoted was real and...
I think I don't have the app for a week still and I'm SO addicted!
Are you guys familiar with Guitar Hero? Or Rock Band?
Yeah...I have all that except the Bing Bang Nerds lol two guitars actually! One from the first Guitar Hero and the second came with the Rock Band! I managed to play the guitar pretty decent, voice? Meh...Drums? I couldn't even coordinate the Seven Nation Army rhythm 🤣
But life happens and years, jobs and kid came along and I believe our Xbox 360 got the dreadful "Ring of Death" so we never setup it back.
Anyway, I found something similar but for my phone called Beatstar!
This one is a bit better than Guitar Hero and such because not only it has awesome graphics for a phone app, it has a much bigger variety of music genres and the more you play the more items you get so you can get more songs and they are given randomly. I got a friend into the addiction and she has a different playlist from mine, at least she got some of my favourites first which is a pain but I turned into motivation to play more to get them lol
While I was playing and getting better I remembered that back in the day I would enjoy watching other people sharing their Guitar Hero gameplay on Youtube so why not try to make a recording! Fortunately, on my first recording attempt, I completed the song with a nice rate to a point of getting my first Gold Medal! So I thought it was worth sharing here...or at least my ego will be happy 🤣
Let's say that this little addiction keeps my sanity somehow in shape during the day so don't judge me ahaha
Music and Games are my escape from reality and a break from the infinite work that I have every day!

Tuesdays are kind of Fridays for me since my days off are on the next two days and you probably know that tired feeling after a long week.
And of course, I already fell asleep on the desk a few times and missed my time to post my Monday's Actifit report so I remembered that something weird yet funny happened to me today at the Spa.
There are many other stories and funny situations that I experience during my Spa years and I'm sure many others will come so If you enjoyed this little story I can do this any now and then at least to make you laugh..or try!

For you to build an audience to whichever goal you have in mind, the most important thing you must do probably before anything else is be authentic!
Just being yourself and sharing your experiences during your journey, whether being a content creator, an affiliate marketer, a business owner, or anything else you want to be, is the best way to gain people's relationships and trust!
Don't hide behind someone else's writing, opportunity or pitch, if you want to pitch, pitch about yourself and your journey!
And while you're doing that: Treat people...as people!
Calling people as prospects can be as bad as calling your emails ads!
It kills unicorns! And people too! They will run away like gazelles if they just smell "buy my stuff" or "I promise you a million if you give me a million" junk!
Even if you don't feel ready to write your own stuff or don't have anything to share yet and want to highlight someone or something, great! Just share your own thoughts about it! What did you learn about the post or article? Don't forget to give credits and ask permission from the owner! That's the least you should do when sharing things that are not yours!
This doesn't happen only in ListNerds, here on Hive happens a lot too!
Let's make the world a better place and try to suppress the "gold diggers" or the minds who don't want to make an effort to be better!

Let's get back to business! Or marketing! Or somewhere in between!
On my last week of vacation, last Friday I was able to attend live the latest The CryptoManiacs Podcast and @mba2020 asked about Funnels, or Marketing Funnels, so I thought it would be nice to go in more depth about it because there is a lot to talk and not everyone is familiar or still understand what it is all about besides being an object used to pass liquids to bottles and such lol
But before we get into it, let's start with the definition:
A marketing funnel is a roadmap laid out by you, your business, to guide potential followers/subscribers/members/customers from their first interaction with you to becoming a superfan/paying customer.
An example of a very simple funnel or plan is using a blog post that links to a landing page where they can subscribe to your mailing list and it converts into a subscriber.
So I spent the afternoon while working at the Spa reception researching and taking notes and in the middle of millions of funnels, graphics and definitions out there, I resumed into 6 Cores of the Marketing Funnel!
Awareness The objective of the first funnel core is to inform your target audience that you, your brand, your business exists, explain in detail its functions, and improve both brand recognition and visibility by being helpful. You will implement content strategies to attract people and make them receptive to future interactions.
Interest Here you nurture the relationship through quality targeted content, pulling people towards you so they can learn more about you and your business and check for more content that resonates with them. People might engage with you so keep that engagement flowing so you can get followers or even subscribers to your mailing list.
Consideration Kind of a "mid-push", here you can share more info about your business and what you are offering through more content either blog posts, email campaigns, etc while continuing to nurture the relationship by showing them why do they need you and how can it work with them.
Action/Conversion Your content has definitely helped those in the previous stages to think about having a quick solution to their recurring issues. The funnel is now smaller because you can identify the candidates who will strongly consider purchasing. In the Conversion core, you have to urge them to make a subscription/purchase. Once the relationship is well established, you can pitch them. Push content with a strong call-to-action and a simple path to follow to complete the subscription/sale.
Loyalty If you want to make sure your followers/members stay loyal, then give them excellent content! Keep building the relationship through community development, brand/business development, engagement and outreach. And they will as well develop a preference for you and for the brand.
Advocacy This is where Superfans are born! and the most effective marketing medium today is still word-of-mouth or referral marketing. You will trust the statement of a person close to you rather than the statement of a biased owner. Advocates will spread the word about you and your brand and share their experience through content, helping direct more people to your funnel.

**So the main idea is to really understand what's your goal and make a plan to focus your audience towards that goal!
Building a brand and a mailing list is crucial to this plan, so is content creation! Like everything in life and business, things change by the second so adapt/adjust/improve your plan for better results constantly! the funnel is a good metric system.**

On a side note, I have a crush on this kind of art, because it is a way of art and the drawings are amazing!
But moving on...
If you want to be skilled in anything in your life, if you want to be better at something, you need to practise and repeat the process again, and again, and again...!

I'll be talking about the image below that everyone sees and gives a thumbs up and says it's a fact and all and then they are still stuck on their ropes and no sign of getting out of it!
It is frustrating to see people so numb to all of the great stuff that is happening because they are stuck to the bad things happening in the world, stuck to the past or stuck in excuses...
What do you still need to cut the rope?
Besides scissors lol
It will reach a point where you are hanging in that rope and slowly dying...sounds a little morbid I know but this can be literal in a way...
The real question is: would you rather be part of the 2% or stick to the 98% like everyone else?

To think that I have a whole new year of more opportunities to fulfil the monthly HIVE Power-Ups makes the new year festivities even sweeter!
It's been like two years last time I watched the fireworks sort of in-person because of David, he's afraid of them. I've been trying to make them understand and help him lose the fear but so far no luck but I managed to put him to sleep this time and he was so tired that the noise didn't bother him lol
So I recorded the fireworks! And with some editing magic skills (cough), I made a pretty video!

It's been a minute!
I miss doing videos so instead of just my tired face, I went for what I also love doing, playing games!
The Degeneration Era has begun and most likely be spread through the year!
Just to let you know that I'm ok, just been enjoying the holiday season with my Mother while she was here plus studying and working on the not so secret Project BowTie Pony launch next January.
I'll be back on some kind of track next year, still have a few days to organize myself before that!
