Two sisters end up on the opposites of the same side
A tragic event creating chaos with emotions riding high
Living in downtown twisted in despair and poverty
Hanging on to their closest allies, fighting the powers that be
Vy, the older protects her little sister Powder, not allowing her to partake
In the chaos and bloodshed but the lil one is waiting for her turn to make
Her sister proud and then the day comes when she sees the opportunity
Only for people to die, losing their leader, shattering everything, unfortunately
Vy, angry and upset calls Powder a jinx
Vy gets arrested, thrown into prison, she sinks
From the face of the underworld and Powder thinks
She had been abandoned and so changes her name to Jinx
Groomed and raised by one who is bad
Jinx is lost, hears voices in her head
When Vy comes back to look for her sister
Things have changed, expectations shatter
Emotions are raw, maybe there can be change
But Jinx is a villain, and the sisters are estranged
I am not a fan of League of Legends or games
But the kids insisted, I watch with them Arcane
I’m glad they made me, I was absolutely engrossed
The animation and storyline was as good as it goes
Watch it, it’s streaming on Netflix
This is good, and you don’t to miss
Thank you for watching :D

This story starts out with Leah, a professor who is new at the University
Suspecting tardy student Rose of plagiarism? Things between them gets iffy
Which starts off with a conversation to address the issue
First awkward and then very quickly turns into hostility
On the homefront, Leah is trying to get pregnant
Though not as committed to the idea as her husband
This contributes to the chaos Rose is hell-bent on creating
However, it isn’t as simple as Rose being caught for cheating
Things escalate and it gets more complicated
Affairs exposed, property break-ins, dead pets, things are getting absurd
Then we find out there’s more to Rose’s obsession with Leah
When the ish hits the fan, and the truth is laid out, things go haywire
Cheat is a psychological thriller, a 4 part mini-series
Starring Katherine Kelly as the professor, Molly Windsor as the student
Two brilliant minds out to get each other
Where does it all end? I’ll leave it to you to discover
Thank you for watching :D

Spent a whole week decluttering
Rummaging, sorting, throwing, labelling
Found a lot of stuff long forgotten
Had too much fun reminiscing, meandering
The time I spent a week in London
To cover the Backstreet Boys at Wembley Stadium
Did not get that promised one to one interview
Just a mingle session but guess that was still cool
Then I dug out my 30-year-old pageant sash
Old with brown spots, it was time to hit the thrash
But the fam said wait, let’s not do that yet
“Let’s take some pics first!” but now too dirty for that
But it is the books that I had the hardest time with
Childhood dreams of one wall with shelves to fit
Books of all kinds of genres, shapes and sizes
Stories to fill every whim, dream, fantasy, desire
I packed most of them and asked around for takers
But nobody cared and so I went on to donate them
To Bukuhub where they encourage reading and book swaps
The plan was to bring none home but I caved in, and that’s that
So now I have 7 books to read
Giving myself a week for each
Perfect People by Peter James I’ll begin with
If you think book review coming up? Indeed!!

I appreciate your time & being part of my story 💗

Teeny Tiny Joey waited for a whole a year
He even had a countdown on his calendar
Last year he missed his chance, but this time for sure
He will get a glimpse of that man and maybe his reindeers
When December came around, Mum bought an oven
He immediately took the box and waited for when
She’d be free to help him make his hideaway den
Under the tree, behind the lights, the idea was grand
To make it look real, they bought Christmas wrapper
Just to make sure it was all stealth and proper
They wrapped the box and just on the top right corner
They made a tiny hole, so he could peek at Santa
And then it was 24th December, it was the day
Joey had a hearty meal, even ate his vegetables, no complaints
Then when 8.30 came around, Mum told him it was time
To get in the box and wait for Santa to arrive
Teeny Tiny Joey waited for a whole 5 minutes
Felt longer than the last year, but oh so worth it
When he heard Santa’s footsteps and then a hearty laugh
Got a glimpse of white beard and lots of red gut
And then he could have sworn he heard Santa say
"Hey Joey, you have been a very good boy especially today!"

Sewing, designing, upcycling and more,
If this is your passion, then you must for sure
Watch this show and level up the art of stitching
The Great British Sewing Bee gives you ideas for sewing
Home tailors across the country are invited to step in
Some of the best, against each other for the win
No monetary gains, just a trophy and bragging rights
But the contestants race to the finish line, with all their might
I have been watching since Season 1
But Season 5 was really so much fun
And so I thought I must share with the Needlework community
So sewers on the Hive can watch, laugh, cry and learn aplenty
This season saw tasks that pushed the sewers to the limit
Using fabrics from deck chairs, scrap, curtains - you name it
They sewed for children, adults, and even for a dog
From jackets to swimwear to ballgowns and more
I learnt from the step by step with the dress pattern challenges
Tips of what not to do with the mistakes and mishappens
A little history of fabrics and designs are thrown in for good measure
I have learnt so much in the course of this reality show, such a pleasure
I’d recommend it to the needlework community, especially the sewers
You will come out at the end of it, with so many tips, tricks and ideas
*** Please press play so I can read you the rhyme :D
Cheers,

Today is Onam, the harvest festival celebrated by the Malayalees who are originally from Kerala, India.
My bestie as a Malayalee, decided to challenge herself to cooking at least 21 dishes as is the custom. Apparently, it has to be odd numbered. She ended up cooking 33 dishes. Crazy right?
So, anyways I went shopping with her for last minute ingredients yesterday and she was busy asking around if they had the traditional wear for a child. They did, but not in “Malayalee colours”, which is off white and gold.
So, I decided to surprise her by sewing the child one. I didn’t want to tell her just in case I couldn’t make it in time.
I set the timer an hour and pretended I was on Project Runway. Let’s just say, if I truly was, my model would have walked out naked and I would have been sent home haha. But I did manage to finish before I lunch today, just in time to swing by to hand over the outfit.
I was going in blind for I have never met the child and the only thing my bestie said to me in passing was, she’s a year old. The child is actually only 10 months and a petite baby. The outfit kinda fit, but let’s say she could be wearing it for a bit.
It is a two-piece. The long skirt with a gartered waist and I used the shirring with garters technic for the halter-nect top to make it somewhat free-size.
You will see at the end of the video, the lavish meal she prepared which was to represent gratefulness for the abundance. Happy Onam everyone (and in case you are wondering, my Mother’s Malayalee and that makes me half which is why I had a Saree in that colour to flip).
Thank you for you time here,
Sh33la

I almost did not want to share this. I am disappointed that the Osmo DJI I used to shoot this gave many blurry shots. I also realised I am not a tutorial sort of person. But I will do my best to just walk you through the steps.
This is for my bestie’s goddaughter. The lil one recently turned 2, and since my bestie was not ready for me to practice my sewing on her (want to lose weight first and social distancing), I did the next best thing. I got the measure ments from the internet.
I drew out the pattern on brown paper.
Placed it on the fabric and cut out the 5 pieces: 1 top front, 2 top back, 2 bottom.
I sewed the shoulder seams, then the bias tape on the armholes.
The side seams then attached top half with bottom half.
Sewed the crotch, attached the zip.
Sewed the bias around the neckline, finished off the bottom hem, added the frill around the waistline, fixed the hook above the zip.
Done!!
Ok, almost. I first wanted to add a scrunchy, for every little girl needs one right? But took it one step further and sewed a bucket hat too.
Now really done. I hope it fits.
Thank you for watching/reading 😊

Santiago could have been a priest but he chose to be a shepherd
The only way to go on a grand adventure, and so he got started
The Andalusian shepherd boy, walks with his sheep to the first town
The daughter of a merchant entertains as he awaits her busy father to come around
Days go by and he has this recurring dream
A gipsy interprets of great treasures it seems
Await the boy, buried in the pyramids she deems
To bring some back as payment, she’ll wait in the interim
Should he go to seek, or stay with this girl he likes
He isn’t entirely sure, and then The Alchemist comes by
The spiritual man shares wisdom in the hopes Santiago can decipher
That there’s more to life and if he looks he’ll find what’s the true treasure
But Santiago is ambitious and chooses to go to Egypt
Travel and buried treasure was too enticing to forget
Along the way, he learns life’s lessons that bring him full circle
To The Alchemist’s words and the secrets of this world
The Alchemist is written by Brazilian author Paulo Coelho
A page-turner for sure, but as usual I listened to the audio
Which was read by Jeremy Irons, oh that voice
I was enthralled through the 3 hours, Hey Sheela good choice
Coelho’s writing and Iron’s reading style is effortless
You will be drawn in and you will walk away with nuggets
It will inspire you to trust your heart and follow your dreams
Once done, come share your thoughts on it, please?
Thank you for reading/watching😊

Mum tailored all our clothes when I was younger. She’d buy a bale of the same material, then she’d sew for all the females in the family but we’d each get a design of our choice. She did this until she went to Singapore to work.
When she was close to retirement, she had big plans to pick up sewing where she had left off. She started preparing for it a few months before by buying the Overlock machine on installment and she’d tell me her plans for retirement.
However, 2 months before retirement, she had a by-pass and her 2 month medical leave took her to the last day of being employed. After some time, she moved down to live with me and help take care of the kids. And finally when the kids were old enough, she fell sick and …. Well, her plan to get back into sewing never happened.
As for me, I did some sewing myself with Mum’s help in my younger days. And when I moved to Kuala Lumpur, 300 kms away, she gave me one of her sewing machines to take with me. I altered many clothes to fit just right and also to be one of a kind. Later on, I took a diploma in fashion thinking perhaps I could either be a Window Dresser or a Fashion Buyer.
Just about the time I was taking my diploma, I got pregnant and was also offered to go full-time from part-time at work. Then I got into a managerial position and got busy between work and family.
Fast forward to today, since I do have a sewing machine at home, I thought I could brush up on my sewing skills. Maybe they will be good enough to sell, or even give as presents. We’ll see where it goes, but for now I am just having fun learning new things and practicing old things.
Here’s a saree I have upcycled into a skirt for my niece. Her current favourite colour is blue, and I think my brother will be quite sentimental over this because it is using one of Mum’s sarees. Or he could get upset at me for cutting it up… I’ll let you know ;p

A woman who had the world in her hands
Or at least it seemed for those who had
Watched Star Wars, fantasized about or wanted to be her
Talking about Princess Lea, actually more like Carrie Fisher
I just finished listening to her read her book Wishful Drinking
Her observations and reminiscing of her life had me laughing
But also there was a hint of sadness and madness entangled
In her words, as she laid it all out for us, so she could be heard
Her parents, celebrities, hopping beds, with each other and others
Her mother, Debbie Reynolds, a little eccentric and oh so gorgeous
Her father Eddie Fisher, a popular artist and also a womanizer
And her brother who did not have the same hangups as her
She had many romances but married only once to Paul Simon
A daughter, Billie Lourd, whose father was Fisher's talent agent
Talks about her relationships not only with her husband and lovers
But also with her mother, brother, stepfather and even grandmother
What a wild ride her life had been
Substance abuse, depression, dead friend in bed, that's only the beginning
She wrote this at 52, and now I'm keen
To look out for her other books, four more it seems
I'd recommend you check this book out
In fact, grab the audio version, guaranteed you'll laugh out loud
Cheers,

So I got my first sale. I was pleasantly surprised at how smooth and easy the whole process was.
As soon as the buyer communicates interest and the seller accepts, buyer just needs to proceed with payment. Carousell is partnered with Poslaju (our postal service) and seller can choose this method, their own courier service or to meet in person.
After my little run in with a scammer within the first couple of hours on the app, and with the lockdowns, and for safety reasons, I decided I will not be meeting any buyers in person, and will opt for only postal.
I also chose to go under the Protected terms where the app will hold the money until the buyer recieves the goods, and releases payment in 9 days to the seller. This seems a comfortable transaction for both buyer and seller.
She wanted to know if the delivery charges were included in the price. It wasn't but because she was my first buyer, I offered to absorb it. Even though Poslaju informs them of the charges, it is best to place it in the post along with the description, which is what I will be doing here on.
Once the buyer paid for the dress, I was informed of the sale and was asked to fill up my details for the delivery. They then sent me the PDF copy to print out, which I pasted on the package. Sent it to the postoffice and it was done. Now we track the parcel till it reaches its destination.
And that was pretty much the highlight of my day :D
I am curious about Etsy for when I am ready to sew clothes good enough to sell. If anyone can share their experience with me, I would truly appreciate it.

This is trending on TikTok right now. It is very simple and you can choose your pasta and flavours.
I had some macaroni left-over and some cheese, so try, I had to.
Prepare the pasta of your choice.
Once you have strained the pasta, add salt, olive oil and top it with cheese.
I added paprika and you can choose to add other flavours according to your pallete.
Bunk in the oven for 20 minutes at 200°C and bam, I had a snack.
You can also use an air fryer instead of the oven.
I should have used a bigger container to spead out the pasta, so they wouldn't clump together. And if only I had more cheese. But otherwise, it was pretty yummy.
Thank you for watcing,

When this book popped up on my recommendations, I knew I had to read it. And by the last page, I could imagine the horror of some and true enough, when I checked reviews, horrified would be an understatement.
Amy Chua is very brave to put herself out there as she did even though this kind of parenting is still practised by many. I am nowhere close to how strict she was but I could totally relate to her frustrations and her thought process.
I would love to hear your thoughts on the book. Whether you have read it or will read it... She was labelled a monster... do you think she was?
I also want to take this opportunity to wish all mothers Happy Mother's Day. Hope you treated yourself to something special <33
