In this message, Pastor Benny teaches how following Jesus means leaving the old life behind. We’re called to put off the old self, be renewed in our minds by the Holy Spirit, and put on the new nature created to be like God. Paul reminds us to speak truth, forgive freely, and live in kindness, generosity, and purity as people made new in Christ.
📖 Bible Verses Used:
Paul shifts from doctrine to daily living: walk worthy by guarding Spirit-given unity. Unity isn’t uniformity—it’s humility, gentleness, patience, and love in action. We’re one body with one Spirit, hope, Lord, faith, baptism, and Father. Jesus gives leaders (apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers) to equip the saints so every part serves. The goal? Maturity—no longer tossed by trends, but “speaking the truth in love” as each part does its work.
📖 Bible Verses Used:
If this encouraged you, follow us and drop a comment—how is God calling you to help build unity this week?
In Ephesians 3, Paul reveals the mystery of God’s plan that Jews and Gentiles are now one family in Christ. Through the church, God displays His wisdom to the world and even the unseen realm. In Christ, we have bold access to the Father, rooted in His love, and empowered to live in His fullness. In Ephesians 2:11–22, Paul reminds us that we were once far from God, without hope, but through Jesus we’ve been brought near by His blood. Christ is our peace, tearing down walls of division and making us one family in Him. Now we are citizens of His kingdom, members of His household, and the very dwelling place of God.

Continuing in Ephesians, Pastor Benny unpacks Paul’s prayer in 1:15–23. Paul gives thanks for the Ephesians’ faith and love, then prays that they would know God more deeply, grow in spiritual wisdom, discover their calling, and walk in the power of Christ’s resurrection. This prayer frames the four steps of our spiritual journey: Know God, Grow Together, Discover Purpose, and Make a Difference.

Kicking off our new series through Ephesians, Pastor Benny opens with 1:1–14 a sweeping, one-sentence praise (in the Greek!) that shows how salvation is: planned by the Father, purchased by the Son, and preserved by the Spirit. In Christ we’re chosen, adopted, accepted, redeemed, forgiven, included, sealed, and guaranteed. Discover the riches of your new life and what it means to live from acceptance, not for it.

Part of being a disciple of Jesus Christ means we surrender everything to Him, including the area of money & finance. What we do with money reveals what has our heart (Matthew 6:21) and our priorities. God owns it all, and He simply asks us to return to Him the first 10%. Our view of ownership (who owns it) will dictate our level of discipleship. During this message we dive into laws, principles, and patterns that God has put in motion in the area of generosity. 1. In Luke 15, Jesus told 3 parables highlighting the joy when the lost become found.
The lost sheep, the lost coin, and the lost son.
The shepherd went after the lost sheep, and the widow went after the lost coin.
The difference in the third parable is that the father didn’t go after the lost son.
He knew the son had a free will and had made up his mind.
But the father never stopped waiting & watching for the lost son.
He was always waiting for the moment when the son would ‘come to his senses’ and return home.
When lost sons & daughters hit rock bottom and choose to come back home, we want to respond like the loving father, not the older brother.

In this episode, Pastor Kelli shares 5 things that will help us to overcome discouragement and live lighter.

Jesus gave a loving invitation to take His yoke.
For centuries, the Jews had been burdened with the heavy yoke of man-made rules that were impossible to keep.
Jesus came along and offers a great exchange: disconnect from all the other yokes, and connect to Him to find peace & rest.
Then He told us that He is Lord of the Sabbath.
He knows our limitations as humans, and that we need a 24-hour period of time every week to rest, refresh, and renew.

So many things in life can weigh us down; none bigger than sin.
In Matthew 11, Jesus warned the unrepentant towns to turn from their sin or face consequences.
Repentance: To change one’s mind or turn around
God requires repentance
Failure to repent results in consequence.
The Greater the revelation, the Greater the accountability.
4 Repentance is a loving invitation.
We can’t truly appreciate the grace of God until truly understand the judgment of God.
Kill the sin before it kills you.

We aren’t owners, we are stewards.
We GET to use His resources to bless His Kingdom.

The Reality of Hell (7.18.21)
For those who follow Jesus, this world is as bad as it gets; it only gets better.
For those who don’t follow Jesus, this world is as good as it gets; it only gets worse.
In Luke 16, Jesus ends the debate on the existence of Hell. It is a very real place where there is eternal torment, no rest, and no hope.
God never intended Hell to be for people. It was originally created for Satan and his demons.
However, if you choose to not follow Jesus, you choose eternal separation from God in Hell.

It’s important they we understand the times in which we are living.
As the Day of the Lord’s Return gets closer, signs of the times will increase.
Jesus said that when you see all these things happening, lift up your heads, your redemption draws near.

Your perception determines your reaction.
Elisha’s servant was fearful when an army of chariots & soldiers surrounded them.
Elisha prayed that his eyes would be open to see that those who are with us are greater than those who are with them.
The situation did not change, but what he saw changed him.

Jesus isn’t looking for people who are good at rituals & ceremonies;
He’s looking for people who have a heart that yearns for Him, whose hearts are fully-devoted to Him.
The pure in heart have an unmixed, unstained, clean heart and their reward is: they will see God.
They’ll see God through His current presence & power, and will (one day) see Him face to face in Heaven.

Pastor Benny Ferguson shares Calvary’s Easter 2021 Message:
In a hopeless world, the only trustworthy place to put your hope in is Jesus Christ.
After His resurrection, Jesus met two of His followers who were walking away from Jerusalem to Emmaus.
Their hope was dead because they thought their Savior was dead.
When their eyes were opened, they realized that Jesus was very much alive and their hope was renewed.
As they encountered Him, their hearts were rekindled with a burning, spiritual passion.
