The Agape Project: Recent Episodes
Bellarmine University Campus Ministry
We seek to know where Agape love is at work in the world. Agape is a Greek word for the highest form of love; one that embraces universal, selfless, unconditional care. The Office of Campus Ministry at Bellarmine University invites you to join us for new episodes every Sunday!
This week, first-year Nursing major Mars Shutt discusses their journey of faith that led to their identity as a Christian and Pegan. They also tell Aniseya about what motivates them to become a nurse and the kind of work they would like to do when they enter the hospital professionally.
This week, we hear from sophomore Excercise Science major and Newman Peer Minister Lian Mckernan. In her Agape Chat with Jordan, we get to hear about her unique family background, her experiences growing up adopted, the importance of music to her expression of agape love to her family and others, and how difficult conversations with members of her family regarding her sexual identity ultimately led to better relationships with them.
This week, senior Criminal Justice major Callie Reesor has an Agape Chat with Lian to talk about what has drawn her to a career in law and the moments she has felt the pain of those going through the legal system and their families.
This week, we hear from senior vocal performance and music technology double-major Kelsey Simpkins. In her chat with Abby, Kelsey talks about her unique relationship with religion through music, her passion for social justice, and her call to show agape love to all people in her life.
This week, first-year Nursing major Julien Allen has an Agape Chat with Jordan Crandall to discuss how the loving embrace that he feels from his identity as a Christian has pulled him through tough times and, through mission work, has helped him to find his calling.
This week, we hear from junior  Psychology major Delaney Fuller. She and Lian talk about the importance of appreciative knowledge to combatting prejudice, how her vocation and calling have changed over her lifetime (from veterinary science to working for NASA), and her belief in pre-destiny.
This week, we hear from sophomore Biology major Esha Khan. Esha tells Nicky about her favorite parts about being Muslim, especially the community that she feels and seeks to have with other Muslims. Plus, Esha talks about what makes her feel closest to her spirituality.
This week, junior History and Theology double-major and Siena Terzo Peer Minister Abby Rosys has an Agape Chat with Siena Secondo Peer Minister Aniseya White to talk about their unique relationship with Catholicism, specifically the aspects of their faith and the Church that they love and those which are personally challenging. Plus, how their love for Thomas Merton and theology has helped to inspire their career path.
This week, senior nursing major Cari Campbell has an Agape Chat with Siena Terzo & Quarto Peer Minister Abby Rosys to describe her relationship to Native Spirituality and the people she has encountered and confided in through her life to come to that relationship.

What does agape mean? How do we see agape love in our daily lives? How to we show agape love to others? Bellarmine University Director of Campus Ministry Laura Kline walks us through the various types of love described in scripture and historic texts and talks to us about why she finds agape love among the most beautiful types. She also gives some background on the Agape Project and how Campus Ministry has gone about collecting the stories of agape love from the Bellarmine University community.
