Helen M. Genova, PhD is the assistant director of Kessler Foundation's Center for Neuropsychology and Neuroscience Research. She is also assistant research professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Rutgers University-NJ Medical School. She has focused on examining cognitive issues in clinical populations, including those utilizing both behavioral and neuroimaging methods to study social cognition and emotional processing. Particularly in regard to social cognition, Dr. Genova has played an important role in pioneering innovative research applying promising interventions targeting deficits in social cognition. Dr. Genova has also devoted much of her career to investigating other cognitive issues in clinical populations, including the assessment and treatment of cognitive fatigue.

Glenn Wylie is the director of the Rocco Ortenzio Neuroimaging Center at Kessler Foundation. He is also an associate professor at Rutgers - New Jersey Medical School.

Dr. Wylie's research interests fall into three broad categories: cognitive control, cognitive fatigue, and the neurophysiological effects of cognitive interventions. In his work investigating cognitive control, he has investigated control processes in healthy samples (both the young and the aged) and clinical samples (multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury, schizophrenia). In his work investigating cognitive fatigue, he has investigated the neural correlates of fatigue in clinical samples such as multiple sclerosis (MS) and traumatic brain injury (TBI), as well as in Veterans with Gulf War Illness (GWI).

Dr. Guang Yue is the director of Center for Mobility and Rehabilitation Engineering Research at Kessler Foundation. He is also a professor at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and affiliated faculty in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Dr. Yue received his PhD in motor control/sensorimotor neuroscience from the University of Iowa and had his postdoctoral training in neurophysiology at University of Arizona. Before joining Kessler Foundation in 2012, he was the Director of Neural Control Laboratory and Director of Rehabilitation Research at Cleveland Clinic Learner Research Institute for 18 years. He has published extensively in the fields of sensorimotor neuroscience, neurorehabilitation, neuroimaging, neuromuscular physiology, and biomechanics.

Trevor Dyson-Hudson, MD is director of the Centers for Spinal Cord Injury Research and Outcomes & Assessment Research at Kessler Foundation. He is a research associate professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ. Dr. Dyson-Hudson is co-director of the Northern New Jersey Spinal Cord Injury System at Kessler—a NIDILRR funded Spinal Cord Injury Model System of care.

In 1992, while he was a 3rd-year medical student at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Dyson-Hudson sustained a spinal cord injury while playing rugby. Following a year of rehabilitation, he returned to medical school and graduated in 1995.

Peii (Peggy) Chen, PhD, is a senior research scientist in the Center for Stroke Rehabilitation Research and the intellectual property liaison at Kessler Foundation and a research associate professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation at New Jersey Medical School, Rutgers University. Trained as an experimental cognitive psychologist, Dr. Chen started out her postdoctoral career in 2007 and became a neurorehabilitation scientist with the focus on spatial cognition and its disorders after brain injury, especially stroke. Dr. Chen is devoting her career to the study of spatial neglect and its related deficits, real-life impacts, and solutions.

Nancy D. Chiaravalloti, PhD is director of the Center for Neuropsychology and Neuroscience Research and the Center for Traumatic Brain Injury Research at Kessler Foundation and Research Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Rutgers University, New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Chiaravalloti conducts research in cognitive rehabilitation, particularly in new learning, memory and processing speed with people living with traumatic brain injury, Multiple Sclerosis, and spinal cord injury. She has led numerous externally funded randomized clinical trials to evaluate the efficacy of cognitive rehabilitation protocols in clinical populations, examining post-treatment changes from multiple vantage points such as objective behavior, everyday life, and at the level of the brain.

John O'Neill, PhD is the director of employment and disability research at the Kessler Foundation and has over 28 years of experience in vocational rehabilitation as a rehabilitation counselor educator, disability employment researcher, and advisor to state vocational rehabilitation agencies. Dr. O’Neill has been a PI or co-PI on six National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research funded, five-year research and training centers focusing on traumatic brain injury and community integration, disability statistics, disability employment service system and how individual and contextual factors relate to employment outcomes among people with disabilities.
